SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 38 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

end of the
season & decided who will go down to 2ºDivision. REAL
BETIS
joins RECREATIVO & NUMANCIA into 2º Division as the first
failed
to gain the needed 3 points.

REAL BETIS drew 1-1 with VALLADOLID to be sent to 2ºDivision
next season. AGUIRRE scored first for Valladolid & then OLIVEIRA
equalized for Betis. However just a point was not enough to save
Betis

REAL SPORTING DE GIJON saved itself to remain in the 1ºst
Division after they defeated RECREATIVO 2-1. Recreativo scored

first via MARTIN, but Gijon got back to score twice via BARRAL
&
LUIS MORAN

SEVILLA
closed its great season with a 0-2 victory over NUMANCIA.
Goals came from ARMENTEROS &
MORENO

RACING & GETAFE drew 1-1 with the latter saving itself to stay
in 1ºDivision. MORAL scored for Racing & GRANERO drew for
Getafe.

ESPANYOL won 3-0 MALAGA with all 3 goals from TAMUDO
Great way to end the season with Espanyol staying in 1ºst Division
& a HAT-TRICK from its Captain

OSASUNA heroically saved themselves & stay in 1ºst Division after
winning REAL MADRID 2-1. Its Real Madrid 5th straight loss as they
are now thinking in their own personal Club "revolution". HIGUAIN
scored first for Real Madrid, to later see them down to 9 men &
Osasuna score two goals via PLASIL & JUANFRAN.

HANDBALL: SPANISH TEAM CIUDAD REAL WINS EUROPEAN TITLE

TENNIS: RAFAEL NADAL ELIMINATED FROM THE 2009 FRENCH OPEN

Nothing lasts forever, it’s an Iron Law of Life, & it applies equally
in Sports & their human “gods”. World Nº1 Tennis ranked player &
Spaniard RAFAEL NADAL was convincingly eliminated from the
FRENCH OPEN this afternoon by Swede Nº25 World ranked player
ROBIN SODERLING 6-2, 7-6, 4-6, 6-7.

The Swede used his two main weapons – the “riffle” serve &
forehand – to sweep Nadal off the pitch & end any hopes of a 5th
straight French Open title. Although the Spaniard fought till the
end as a Champion this defeat will serve Nadal as an event to
reflect on & help maintain his feet on the ground. The Spaniard
can continue working on this game to make it even more perfect
& further solid. There is no doubt that Nadal will bounce back &
have Wimbledon as his next objective. The young man is destined
to do great things in Tennis & this is just a hiccup - although
important.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 38 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

VALENCIA CF finishes 6th place & with UEFA after defeating
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO 2-0, with both goals coming from DAVID

have been the farewell for Villa, Silva & others as they are rumoured
to be "talking" with other Clubs - Real Madrid for example!

REAL MADRID WISH TO ADD "SPANISH FLAVOUR": XABI, SILVA & VILLA

One of the objectives of the new (soon to be) President of REAL
MADRID
Florentino Perez & his new team are to give the squad a
more “Spanish Flavour”. To that effect there are already names on
the board according to “
AS” in its edition of today. Players like XABI
ALONSO
(Liverpool FC), SILVA (Valencia CF) & DAVID VILLA (Valencia
CF) are the chosen to add the “OLE” next season at Real.

LIVERPOOL FC needs the funds to clear their balance sheets & has
asked around 25-30M€ for the XABI ALONSO operation & the
possibility Real Madrid player on loan to Almeria NEGREDO. The
only unknown here is Italian Club JUVENTUS who also desire the
services of Alonso.

VALENCIA is in worst financial dire straits are will be “force” to sell
to cover its economic holes (500M€ debt). Real has in mind 22 year
old Spanish International DAVID SILVA as an alternative to Franck
Ribery who has a huge transfer price & stiff competition from other
big Clubs. Also Spanish International forward DAVID VILLA is another
player that Real Madrid see as a possible important incorporation
if the price is reasonable, less than 35M€.

Logically, more Spanish players mean less foreigners. Thus a few at
the Club must be thinking in being looking elsewhere for next
season.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: GOALKEEPER ASENJO SIGNS FOR 4 YEARS

Spanish sports paper “Marca” has announced it via its digital
edition. Young VALLADOLID goalkeeper SERGIO ASENJO will
be an ATLETICO DE MADRID player next season as he has committed
himself for the next 4 years. The 19 year old & Spanish U/21
International goalkeeper has turned down offers from FC Barcelona,
Villareal & Premier League teams to take up the Atletico challenge.

The operation is around 4M€ plus two players who may come
out of this list: Valeria, Cleber Santana, Miguel de la Cuevas or
Diego Costa…etc. Current goalie LEO FRANCO plays his last game
tomorrow for Atletico before going to Turkish team GALATASARAY
next season.

ZIDANE PRAISES YOUNG BELGIUM 18 YEAR OLD HAZARD.

ZINEDINE ZIDANE will be the Football Consultant & REAL MADRID
Ambassador under virtual new President Florentino Perez. With
this in mind his thoughts & comments have an impact & influence
directly over the President that needs some analysis.

(photo:Hazard-as.com)

According to local sports daily “AS”, Zidane has commented to
Belgium media “De Morgen” about a young Belgium Football talent
that has the Frenchman over the moon. The young player is an 18
year old
called HAZARD, a midfielder that plays for French team
LILLE who has been voted the Best Young Player in the French
League & is already International for BELGIUM. Zinedine Zidane
mentioned that “…I would take him with me to Real Madrid with
y eyes closed”
. As is expected other big names Clubs are hovering
the young players nest, as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United
& Inter Milan. Having said this, stay tuned for future developments
as the words of Zidane now have special significance & weight.

FERNANDO TORRES EXTENDS HIS CONTRACT UNTIL 2014 WITH LIVERPOOL FC

The 25 year old Spanish International FERNANDO TORRES is in
Madrid were he got married to his long time partner & soon to
be mother. To celebrate the occasion the LIVERPOOL FC striker
extended his contract with the Premier League Club another year
until 2014 & improved his economic conditions. There will be an
extra mouth to feed at home & this financial boost will come in
handy.

This is a signal that Liverpool FC appreciates the efforts of Fernando
Torres during his stay, & considers the forward a vital piece of their
team & future. Torres joins Gerrard & Kuyt who have also extended
their contracts with the Club.

FC BARCELONA: 1,000,000 FANS HAIL BARÇA IN THE STREETS & CAMP NOU

The celebration continued as FC BARCELONA landed in the city &
were given a "Ticket Tape" Parade through the streets of Barcelona

to end up at their home ground "Camp Nou" in front of 93,000 people.

Authorities estimate that a total of 1,000,000 people congregated in

the streets to share their joy & thank their players for the 3 season
titles: Liga, Spanish Cup & Champions.

Here is a clip of yesterdays celebrations in summary form:

The theme of the night & unofficially of the whole season for
Barça is Coldplay´s "Viva La Vida". Ever since it came to light that
Coach Guardiola plays it to his players in the dressing room, the track

has "exploded", this explains its presence on many clips.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2009:FC BARCELONA 2 – MANCHESTER UNITED 0: VIDEO SUMMARY OF GAME, GOALS (ETO´O & MESSI) & CELEBRATIONS

The celebrations, the praises , the headlines & the joy continue for
FC BARCELONA the day after their crowning as EUROPEAN
CHAMPIONS
after defeating convincingly Manchester United 2-0 at
Rome.

SFS has the below post with summary of the game & videos of both
the ETO´O & MESSI goals, but as with the demand so high, here are
a few more images & a VIDEO resume of the whole night from
pre-match protocol, the game & post-match presentations &
celebrations:

XAVI HERNANDEZ was voted PLAYER OF THE MATCH

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: FC BARCELONA 2 – MANCHESTER UNITED 0: BARÇA MAKES HISTORY (SEE VIDEOS OF GOALS)

This is the team photo, a HISTORICAL snapshot of 11 FC
BARCELONA
players that have made Spanish Football History in
being the first & only team to date to win the “Big 3” – La Liga,
Spanish Cup & European Cup – in one season. Tonight FC BARCELONA
won MANCHESTER UNITED 2-0 in the Final of the 2009 Champions
League
to finish its season with the highest accolade in European
Football.

Manchester United started strong, surprising everyone with its
attacking Football that nearly paid off. The first 9 minutes were
all Manchester with its star CRISTIANO RONALDO having many chances
but not being able to materialize them into valuable goals. Then the
10th min, with a run away INIESTA that opened the English defence
to give SAMUEL ETO´O the ball who “split in half” Vidic to poke in
Barça´s 1ºst goal that gave his team confidence & braked totally the
Manchester push to bring in doubts into their game. This was the
key!

See VIDEO of Samuel Eto´o 10th min goal:

From here Manchester United went into a defensive mode that
allowed FC Barcelona to develop its natural touch ball game which
frankly drove crazy the English team. Cristiano Ronaldo showed
class & kept on trying but his star went dimmer with time as a
“one man show” is difficult to maintain when you have in front
of you a team. So much so that he was totally frustrated towards
the end
reflecting the attitude of his team.

The 2ºhalf was a Barça riot, it was a scandal & Barça could have
put in 4 goals which they missed in the first 10-15 mins. These
misses gave Manchester ideas that perhaps they could equalize
& made substitutions to go all out for the attack – Tevez, Berbatov
& Scholes. However that was risky as this left holes in the
Manchester defence that Barça exploited via a brilliant XAVI
HERNANDEZ
pass that found the head of MESSI who scored his
teams 2º goal & his 9th for the Champions!.That was the nail in the
Manchester coffin, especially after a minute later Barça goalie Valdes
saved a Ronaldo shot. Here onwards the English team allowed itself
to be dominated & watched as FC Barcelona showed why this
season they have shown the Best Style of Football & are now the
Best Team in The World.

See VIDEO of the MESSI 70th min goal:

Special mentions here must go out to THIERRY HENRY who finally
gets his European Cup, to SYLVINHO who was awarded for his
outstanding professional career, to Captain PUYOL who leads by
example, MESSI who know takes over as the Best Player in The World,
ETO´O breaking records & scoring, PIQUE maturing into an outstanding
World Class player, TOURE, XAVI, INIESTA - amazing, VALDES was
great, BUSQUETS - revelation,KEITA…& the rest. Finally Coach
JOSEP - PEP - GUARDIOLA an amazing achievement that will go down
in history & his career has just began!

Well done, its Barça´s 3ºrd European Cup. Spanish Football, thanks
to Barça, is back up on Top.

(courtesy of marca.com)

SFS becomes a FC BARCELONA fans & will roar on the "Cules"
against MANCHESTER UNITED in tonights final of the CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE - European Cup - FINAL at Rome (Italy).

Barça has the opportunity to add to its collection one of these
beautiful Cups (see below) - a 3ºrd if successful - to its collection,
& in so doing make Spanish Football History as being the first ever
Club to win the "Big 3" - "La Liga", Spanish Cup & European Cup all
in one season.

SFS has posts below with match PREVIEWS ( possible line-ups
& clips). Latest line-up speculation is that Keita maybe the
left-back with Busquets in midfield.

Here is a cartoon in todays "Sport":

"More than just a Club"
"Best Team"
"Best Fans"
"Those Who Won´t Fail at Rome"
"We are Millions. Força Barça & lots of luck!"

Good luck Barça!

REAL MADRID & INTER MILAN DEFENDER MAICON TALKING

Everyone says & speculates that AC MILAN player KAKA is very close,
along with BAYERN MUNICH French International FRANCK RIBERY &
XABI ALONSO of LIVERPOOL FC in the new REAL MADRID set up for
next season. Presidential candidate Florentino Perez & his team are
working hard to shut things & another name has emerged to capture
the Sporting papers lead titles.

It was rumoured while back, & now it gains strength, INTER MILAN
Brazilian defender MAICON is said to be on the REAL MADRID list
& negotiations are on the way. This is what Italian media are saying
& has been picked up here locally by “speculative” Sporting paper
“AS” adding the operation is around 25M€. However, there is
competition for the services of the 27 year old Brazilian International;
English Club CHELSEA FC is also active & offering delights.

EURO U/19: SPAIN DEFEATS GERMANY 1-0 & QUALIFIES FOR THE EUROS

Good news. The SPANISH U/19 National side needed a point to
qualify for the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS final phase, & in the
process managed 3 points after defeating GERMANY 1-0 with a
penalty from young Arsenal FC player FRAN MERIDA.

The first half was a cautious affair as both sides were wary of not
allowing the opponent to score a goal. The second half saw Germany
decide to go for a win – as they needed - & they attacked opening
up spaces which allowed Spain to exploit. In one of those incursions
by Spain a penalty was awarded which Merida converted in the 69th
min to put Spain ahead & eventually give his team the victory &

qualification for the "U/19 Euros".

The EURO U/19 Championships will be held in the Ukraine
starting the 21st of July with the Best 8 European U/19 teams
competing for the title – without Germany! The latter may feel
disadvantaged due to the UEFA draw system.

Extra details:

Spain: De Gea; Mario Gaspar, Pulido, Rochela, Morgado; Camacho,
Óscar Sielva; Jordi Pablo, Fran Mérida (Nacho, 90'), Iago Falqué
(Marcos Alonso, 84'); & Joselu.

Germany: Baumann; Funk, Rausch (Jantschke, 43'), Teixeira, Erb,
Wolze, Rudy, Holtby, Kross, Schurrle & Sukuta-Pasu.

Goals: 1-0 (69') Fran Mérida, penalty.

EVERYTHING READY FOR FC BARCELONA - MANCHESTER UNITED CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2009

Tomorrow night we will finally know who will be the European
Champion
after FC BARCELONA & MANCHESTER UNITED clash at
the “Olimpico Stadium” at Rome (Italy). It’s the perfect final for
the universal Football (Soccer) fan that should supply plenty of action
& lots of goals with a bit of nail bitting thrown in as well.

Here is a clip from local TV station “Cuarto” on the arrival of
Barcelona today at Rome, our Football “fanatic” Rafa has done
the montage ( his details on the clip) & we thank him:

Two styles of play expected, with many media experts speculating
that Manchester maybe planning to place a “Chelsea” like style
strategy set-up to stop the Barça play makers & halt the movement
of the ball. The English team has a few advantages that they will
wish to fully exploit; their defensive strength, the physical
one-on-one, the counter-attacks & the aerial game. FC Barcelona
will be true to their ball playing style of all year & that has
characterized them worldwide, with lots of one touch Football,
speed & slick movements that punishes with deadly accuracy
slower & out of place teams. Said this, it is obvious that all eyes
will be on the Leonel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo actions as both
are vital for their teams & can decide the whole outcome of the
game with their individual skill. However, lets not forget Iniesta,
Xavi, Eto´o, Henry...etc & Rooney, Park, Scholes...etc. Here is
a clip that SFS found on Messi & Ronaldo that is great to build up
the nerves & the excitement:

Here are the expected & speculated team line-ups:

FC BARCELONA: Valdes; Sylvinho; Pique; Toure; Puyol; Iniesta;
Keita; Xavi; Henry;Eto´o & Messi

MANCHESTER UNITED: Van Der Sar; Evra; Ferdinand; Vidic;
O´Shea; Anderson; Carrick; Scholes; Park; Ronaldo & Rooney

Good luck to both sides, may the better team win!

REAL MADRID 2009 TRANSFER GOSSIP & RUMOURS: VAN NISTELROOY, RIBERY & SNEIJDER

Let’s kill a couple of birds with one stone (or better said with a
single post). A few interesting news pieces have appear this
afternoon on the Spanish sporting press digital editions ,
especially “AS” & "Marca", all making reference to REAL MADRID.

Firstly, according to Turkish sources, concretely Turkish media
Milliyet, a GALATASARAY official Haldun Ustunel flew to Holland
to come to an agreement with REAL MADRID forward VAN
NISTELROOY
for next season. This may have some truth if the
Dutch forward senses that he does not enter into the plans of Real
Madrid Presidential candidate - & expected winner – Florentino
Perez. Until now it is pure speculation.

Ex Real Madrid player ZINEDINE ZIDANE has publicly acknowledged
that he will have a decisive executive role in the Florentino Perez
team, if the latter wins next months Presidential elections. This is
old news, the interesting comment came latter when he insinuated
– quiet directly- to Europe 1 media that if he had to make a choice
he would choose FRANCK RIBERY over
CRISTIANO RONALDO

Speaking of Ribery, local media “Marca” & German paper “TZ” have
assured that BAYERN MUNICH would look favourably at transferring
its French International to REAL MADRID if WESLEY SNEIJDER
entered into the operation – plus some cash obviously. INTER MILAN
has also enquired about the Dutch midfielder, BUT Sneijder has
recently said that he wishes to make a success of his Real Madrid
adventure.

Remember, all theses stories are currently rumour & speculations.

REAL MADRID: FLORENTINO PEREZ ACCELARATES NEGOTIATIONS FOR XABI ALONSO

News from England, concretely “The Daily Mail” in its digital edition,
claim that REAL MADRID Presidential candidate - & assured winner
next month – Florentino Perez has intensified & accelerated
negotiations with LIVERPOOL FC & with its Spanish International
midfielder
XABI ALONSO

Another English daily “The News of the World” backs this first story
by adding that Xabi Alonso has expressed to his Coach Rafael Benitez
that he wishes to change after 5 years at Anfield. His Coach has put
a 20M€ approx. transfer fee figure on Alonso of which that amount
will be re-invested to go after Argentine International CARLOS TEVEZ
currently at Manchester United.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 37 SUNDAY GAME RESULT

The last & only game of Round 37 of the Spanish League was
played tonight with REAL MADRID playing its last game on home
turf
& saying goodbye to its fans. But Real Madrid just hasn’t its
head concentrated & the spirit is totally gone after they lost the
last train to the title with the defeat at the hands of FC Barcelona.
Tonight another defeat at the hands of MALLORCA 1-3 who quite
frankly overran Real in the second half, & it was a pity because
Real Madrid defender & Italian International Captain said his final
goodbye
tonight. FABIO CANNAVARO was substituted in the 57th
min & was given a final grand ovation as he was visibly emotional
as he touched his heart. Perhaps the way the team played tonight
a few more of the current players may join him & disappear
elsewhere next season.

Real Madrid started scoring first in the 20th min thanks to – yes it
is he again – GONZALO HIGUAÍN who headed a fine goal & he
notched up his 100th game for the Club tonight.

However the Real Madrid concentration fell off 6 minutes later
as ARANGO equalized for Mallorca. From here onwards the home
side gradually lost the protagonist role & dropped off the stage.
Mallorca grew & they managed to go ahead in the 59th min with
a superb goal from CLEBER that was later followed by another by
KEITA in the 71st min. There could have been more, but luckly -
& god knows how – the flood was stopped & the Football waters
calmed.

A great victory for Mallorca & a disappointing performance by Real
who gave a poor image on their goodbye for this season in front of
their crowd. In fact, it’s indicative of the whole season for them;
uphill all the way with serious internal Club problems & changes
throughout the season – e.g. Coach - which destabilized the team.
One thing we can be sure of is that changes will come & serious
changes at that for the good of the Club. Real Madrid has another
game away next week, but SFS is sure they thought tonight was it
& were already thinking on their holiday plans

FORMULA 1: FERNANDO ALONSO 7TH AT MONACO 2009

Monaco is the type of circuit that Spanish two time World Formula 1
Champion FERNANDO ALONSO likes & wins. But not today, as the
Spaniard did a "flawless" drive but his R29 could only smell the fumes

from the faster cars. The best that the Spaniard could do today at
Monaco was a 7th place.

(photo: Fernando Alonso - elmundo.es)

It was precisely one of the fastest cars & better drivers JENSON
BUTTON ( Braun GP team) who won today in an awesome
performance, that gives
him 5 wins from the last 6 races & takes
him closer to this years
F1 World Championship title.

(photo: elmundo.es/Luca Bruno)

Button´s team-mate Barrichello came in second & Ferrari driver
Raikkonen a cool third.

The World Championships table currently stands as follows:
1. Button 51 pts
2. Baarrichello 35 pts

3. Vettel 23 pts

7. F.Alonso 11 pts

Next Race: Turkey 07/06/2009.

DIEGO FORLAN LEADS "PICHICHI" & "EUROPEAN GOLDEN BOOT" 2009. CAN ETO´O CATCH & OVERTAKE?

One of yesterdays big turning points in Round 37 of the Spanish
League happened in the race for this season “Pichichi” title. This
is the local name given to the player who scores the most goals in
the Spanish League for the season. Until yesterday FC Barcelona
player Samuel Eto´o was leading the table with his 29 goals, just
one ahead of Atletico de Madrid Uruguayan International forward
Diego Forlan.

(photo:elmundo.es)

Today, this has dramatically changed & with an added "twist".
DIEGO FORLAN scored an impressive HAT – TRICK against At.Bilbao
yesterday, while SAMUEL ETO ´O remained scoreless in his game
against Osasuna. The Atletico forward NOW heads the table with 31
goals
& has a 2 goal advantage over the FC Barcelona player. The
mentioned twist is that DIEGO FORLAN is in “EUROPEAN GOLDEN
BOOT
” numbers as well & if next week in the Spanish Leagues final
Round the Uruguayan can keep ahead of Eto ´o, both the “Pichichi”
& “Euro Golden Boot” will go to Forlan.

Here is the current “Pichichi” table with one Round left next
week of the Spanish League
:
1 Diego Forlan (Atletico de Madrid) 31 goals
2.Samuel Eto´o (FC Barcelona) 29 goals
3.David Villa (Valencia CF) 26 goals
4.Leo Messi (FC Barcelona) 23 goals
5.Gonzalo Higuaín (Real Madrid ) 20 goals

Here is a VIDEO of yesterdays At.Bilbao 1 - At.Madrid 4 game
were Forlan scored his HAT-TRICK:

FC BARCELONA CELEBRATE LIGA & SPANISH CUP TITLES AT HOME (VIDEO)

SFS has many of its regular - & non regular - readers who are
FC
BARCELONA
fans. Thus SFS thought a couple of pics & a VIDEO
from yesterday
night celebrations would go down well.

(photo: elmundo.com)

Barça played their last home ground match yesterday night & the
whole
squad wanted to celebrate both SPANISH CUP & "LIGA"
Titles with their
members & fans. After the Osasuna game, the
Spanish League Directives handed the "Spanish League Cup" to
Captain Carles Puyol & the party
began with a run around the field,
speeches & all the rest
(photo: elmundo.com)

As the above image shows the Spanish Cup also was present & was
shown proudly. Now their objective is to win next Wednesday night
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - European Cup - FINAL against Manchester
United. To do so, would make history for Barça & Spanish Football
as no one has won the "Big 3" in one season. Here a VIDEO off the
"FIESTA"...enjoy!

(Thanks to fcbarcelona9iongg, lets hope this doesnt get removed
- by YouTube)

Congratulations Barça deserved titles, & lots of luck for next
Wednesday!

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/ 09 - ROUND 37 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

It was a Super Saturday in Round 37 of the Spanish League with
9 games out of the 10 scheduled & drama throughout. There is
an authentic battle for the last Champions position ( 4th table
place) which is being currently held tonight by Atletico de Madrid
with a two point advantage over Villareal, plus one of these teams
will go down to 2º Division
along with Recreativo de Huelva
& Numancia next week : Valladolid, Osasuna, Sporting de Gijon,
Real Betis or Getafe.

ATLETICO DE MADRID
pulled a magic last 15 minutes to win
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO 1-4 with a HAT TRICK from DIEGO FORLAN
who takes his tally to 31 goals this season to make him the Spanish
League current highest goal scorer & “The European Golden Boot”,
ahead of FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto´o who is 2 goals behind.
Atletico got ahead via RAUL GARCIA in the 58th min, to see their
Champions aspirations drop as Bilbao equalized in the 70th min via
ETXEITA. However, soon began the DIEGO FORLAN show with
goals in the 72th min, 77th min & 86th min (penalty). Atletico just
needs to draw or win next week (or Villareal lose) to secure the
last Champions League place.

FC BARCELONA
saved most of its main players with next Wednesdays
European Cup Final in mind. Barça gave its youngsters & subs a run &
with OSASUNA playing for its 1º Division life managed to win 0-1
with a 26th min header by PANDIANI. Things heated up late with
Red Cards to young debut player Muniesa & Coach Guardiola for
complaining.

After the game the whole Barça squad celebrated with their home
fans the Liga & Spanish Cup victories.

VILLAREAL
kept its Champions League aspirations alive after
defeating VALENCIA CF 3-1 & sending the later to UEFA next season.
The goals came fast for Villareal via LLORENTE in the 14th & 30th
min with CANI adding the 3ºrd in the 67th min. For Valencia DAVID
VILLA
managed to score his team’s only goal in the 40th min &
Valencia will be really disappointed with this result.
