CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL 1º LEG 2009 2010: ARSENAL 2 FC BARCELONA 2 (VIDEO GOALS)

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
ARSENAL FC came back to draw 2-2 with FC BARCELONA in tonights 1º leg CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Quarter Final game with 20 last minutes of outstanding Football - Soccer. Earlier FC Barcelona had managed to dominate & control the match going up 0-2 by the 65th min when Arsenal Coach Wenger made the "magic" substitution putting on young Arsenal forward WALCOTT.

The first 20 minutes was FC Barcelona vs. Arsenal goalkeeper Alumunia who stopped everything, including balls that still after the game leaves one wondering how the hell did he do it. Important, as he was a vital piece of the team that saved Arsenal & allowed them to later comeback. In fact, FC Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes also did some unexplained magic stopping almost certain goals from young Arsenal player Bendtner.

But the goals came & all in the 2º half with Barça dominating the ball & the midfield with IBRAHIMOVIC scoring the first in the 46th min catching out the Arsenal defence cold. Watch the goal on the below VIDEO ( allow to load):

This rocked Arsenal & Barça continued strongly with IBRAHIMOVIC again scoring in the 59th min & putting the Spanish team in the driving seat. Watch his goal in the below VIDEO (allow to load):

Then Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger decided that playing to dominant the midfield was not the way & decided to bet on pure speed, changing play-maker Nasri for "lightening" Walcott. The idea was to go for it, & the substitution revolutionized the game with Walcott tearing the right wing apart. This opened the game up & took the ball away from Barça that made them nervous. The come back began in the 69th min when WALCOTT himself scored to bring the stadium roof down. Watch his goal on the below VIDEO (allow to load):

Arsenal was from here onwards attacking in waves, & with speed with a more traditional English style of Football which was making Barça withdraw back onto themselves. Then the moment came in the 83rd min when Puyol had to "stop" an inspired Cesc Fabregas & forced a penalty. Barça defender & Captain Carles Puyol was sent off with a red card & CESC FABREGAS fired in the penalty & the second goal to equalize the match.

(photo: Cesc Fabregas_ efe_gerry.perry)

FC Barcelona held on to "fight another day" & thank their lucky stars that they go home with a 2-2 draw. The Spaniards will be kicking themselves however for not putting away the 4-5 clear chances they had in the 1º st half that could have sentenced the Q/Final there & then. But Football has a funny way of turning things around & Arsenal Coach Wenger reacted brilliantly with Walcott on fire. Watch the VIDEO of the equalizer (allow to load)

It´s now all up for grabs in the upcoming 2ºleg match with Barça having a slight advantage of the home ground & their two away goals. Added to this, Arsenal Captian Cesc Fabregas & Barça defender Gerard Pique will miss the next clash due to their yellow cards & Barça Captain Puyol will also be absent due to his red card.

ARSENAL & AC MILAN GO AFTER ANDER HERRERA & PEDRO LEON RESPECTIVELY

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
Two Spanish Football players are attracting attention outside of Spain & have received offers to continue with their profession at Arsenal & Milan respectively according to Spanish daily “AS”.

The first is 20 year old Spanish International ANDER HERRERA of REAL ZARAGOZA whom Arsenal has offered 10M€ which the Spanish Club has refused. Negotiations are still open as the contract release clause is 24M€, but an offer closer to 15-18M€ may convince the Spaniards. The young player is said to be seen as a possible substitute for Cesc Fabragas who points towards Spanish Football next season if all the rumours are correct.

The other player is PEDRO LEON from Madrid Club GETAFE who has AC MILAN seriously studying the option of paying directly his contract release clause of 10M€. In fact reports go further & have said that the Italian Club has even offered directly the player a 5 year contract. The Spanish player, who prefers to continue in Spain, is tempted & will be making a decision in the coming weeks.

REAL MADRID: RAUL WILLING TO LEAVE FOR 12M€

REAL MADRID Captain RAUL GONZALEZ BLANCO has communicated to the Club that he is willing to leave at the end of this season. He only asks that Real Madrid pay him the rest of the year of contract that he has with them that economically speaking is worth 12 M€ ( salary, bonus…etc). The communication comes directly from the player’s representative Gines Carvajal who made the statement to Spanish Football – Soccer – magazine “Don Balon” online edition.

The Real Madrid Directives now know that if they wish to start next season without Raul, that the price will be a cool 12M€. If they accept to pay & “liberate” Raul from his legal duties, the player is rumoured to be considering a move to English Football or even US Soccer.

Stay tuned for further developments.

FOOTBALL FINANCE & MARKETING: CRISTIANO RONALDO SECRET WEAPON PERFORMANCE BOOSTER - A "MOUTH GUARD"

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
This post is about Football Finance, Marketing & suspicion; about pure promotional strategy of product placement, a planned out idea to raise awareness, consumer demand, sales & ultimately huge revenues. A post that the reader may think is harsh, over exaggerated & perhaps distrustful about a simple & innocent action that is being taken out of all context. Perhaps, but I cannot believe that anything that CRISTIANO RONALDO does is pure coincidence or an "accident". Instead, that it has all been previously masterminded by his team of advisors to get some value & at least some economic benefits.

The Portuguese star grabbed World attention when he slipped out an “innocent” mouth-guard after failing to direct properly a free-kick against Atletico de Madrid in last Sundays game. One wouldn’t give this much more attention had not the press began to “coincidently” dedicate space to the news that the “mouth guard” is a high tech performance booster. Yes, you heard it, a “secret weapon” that gives Ronaldo the edge over his opponents. The story is that this particular style mouth guard is personally made & moulded to protect Ronaldo´s pearl white teeth, & more importantly, settle his jaw in such a manner that when he exerts physical force he maximizes his jaw-bone strength optimally through his body. But there is more, the mouth-guard works to align the jaw-bone, head, and brain with the thorax to distribute the energy evenly through the body’s muscles...Woo!!

The “product” has been on the market for about a year & its being used in Japan, the United States & even in Italy with some Milan players. Even the great golfer Tiger Woods has used the mouth guard, which leads me to suspect if he was protecting his teeth from his own golf club swings.

There is no doubt in my mind that thousands of current & young upcoming Football (Soccer) players will be making enquiries on the “mouth-guard” with their local dentist, sports outlet & on the internet to inform themselves & possibly pay the 100€ that it costs. This “secret weapon” could very well expand & go “viral” across the globe to become a regular piece in any Football player’s (or other Sports) uniform that could land the inventors millions of dollars in profit.

Now, do you still think it was a coincidence that Cristiano Ronaldo revealed precisely his “secret weapon” last Sunday? Watch the first 25 seconds of the below VIDEO, & see for yourself:

Rushing off to the dentist, shop or Internet search engine for your very own super-duper “mouth-guard”? Spanish Football Sports Blog is hoping that a few royalties from sales will fall my way... :o)

WERE XABI ALONSO SERGIO RAMOS (DANI ALVES) UNETHICAL & DISRESPECTFUL IN FORCING THEIR YELLOW CARDS?

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
REAL MADRID players SERGIO RAMOS & XABI ALONSO entered last Sundays game against Atletico de Madrid with 4 accumulated yellow cards to their names. They knew beforehand that if any of them were to receive a yellow card in their next game against Racing de Santander they would receive a 1 match suspension & miss the big FC BARCELONA clash the 10th of April. The solution to the dilemma in their minds (Clubs mind)? Force the referee in the Atletico game to show them a yellow card, thus serve their 1 match suspension against Racing & be assured their place against FC Barcelona. This some thing happened with FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves who also forced his 5 accumulated yellow card to assure his place against Real Madrid.

Is this professionally unethical? Should this type of systematic “manipulation” be allowed, are we all turning a blind eye or should the authorities punish such players actions?

Many commentators & Football observers have mentioned that the players involved, & their Clubs indirectly, have shown clear disrespect for their next playing opponent lowering their importance & their category thinking that they are lesser & worthy to be considered as a team were they can miss out playing without any problem. Also, what about the disrespect for the referees authority thinking they can manipulate them to their hearts content & at their will? Yes, the referees involved could have not fallen into the players scheming ways, & thus should perhaps also be punished as well for falling into their traps.

I´ll finish with this possible scenario. Imagine, Real Madrid travel to Racing de Santander without their two key players – Xabi Alonso & Sergio Ramos – as is the case. Imagine now that Real Madrid loses the game because of this, that is, they underestimated the potential & determination of Racing. Would not this be ironic, that justice be served in such a "cruel" manner with Real losing the League title at Racing instead of fighting it out with FC Barcelona. Lets hope this does not happen, right?

SPANISH FOOTBALL SOCCER LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 - 2010: MONDAY NIGHT RESULT - AT.BILBAO 4 - RACING 3

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
The Spanish Football Soccer League - La Liga - celebrated its now habitual Monday Night game with an ATHLETIC DE BILBAO vs. RACING DE SANTANDER that turned into a festival of goals in the last 20 minutes. The Basque team won 4-3 with a "crazy" 2º half & Racing down to 10 men in the last 10 minutes.

Athletic de Bilbao started things off positive fashion with a goal in the 13th min from LLORENTE (pictured above) & a second from TOQUERO in the 17th min (pictured below).

However, Racing have the threat of relegation hanging over their heads & didn´t give in to pull one back in the 41st min via TCHITE. The 2º half started & the next 45 mins were to be full of action & goals. While Racing fought to pull back an equalizer, Bilbao were awarded a penalty in the 78th min which was converted by LLORENTE. Then Racing scored via BOLUDO in the 80th min to see how 2 minutes later his team-mate Oriol was to receive a red card ( 2 yellow) to leave Racing with 10 men. Bilbao took advantage of the disorganization & SUSAETA scored in the 87th min to see a last minute attempt by Racing who scored a third in the 93rd min via BOLUDO with a "screamer". But the brave comeback ran out off time & Bilbao hung on with tooth & nail even with their 4 goals under their belt.

Great match with goals & plenty of fighting spirit from both sides that went the way of the home team who are doing a great season & are up high in the classification table. Brave attempt by Racing!

ATLETICO DE MADRID: LUISAO A SOLUTION FOR ATLETICO DEFENCE?

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
News out of Portugal, & concretely the Sports paper “A Bola”, comments that Atletico de Madrid Coach Quique Sanchez Flores has BENFICA 29 year old Central Defender LUISAO in mind for next season. The Atletico Coach hasn’t yet received a contract renewal prposal but all indicates that this is just paperwork & thus needs to begin planning the 2010-2011 season.

Atletico has big defensive problems & has had them all season which has halted them from winning the important games. Luisao is seen as a solution for his heading prowess & correct tactical positioning on the field. The player has scored 7 goals this season for his Club which is not bad for a Central Defender.

As always with theses types of news, one thing is what Coaches wish & another what the Club of origin feel about losing a key player. We will have to wait & see if this idea turns into a reality within the coming months. Stay tuned!

SPANISH PLAYERS OVERSEAS: VIDEO FERNANDO TORRES GOAL SUNDERLAND

SPANISH FOOTBALL SOCCER LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 /2010 - REAL MADRID 3 ATLETICO DE MADRID 2 : VIDEO GOALS

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
It could not be tonight for ATLETICO DE MADRID as they went down 3-2 at the home ground of REAL MADRID in the big city derby. There was same hope during the first 45 minutes for the visitors who scored first via REYES in the 25th min. However, the 2ºhalf was all Real Madrid as they scored three goals straight via XABI ALONSO (49th min), ARBELOA (55th min) & HIGUAIN ( 61st min) to put the game under their control. Atletico was awarded a penalty for a Xabi Alonso handball that FORLAN converted in the 67th min but Real held on to win.

Real Madrid remains leader of the classification table with goal advantage over FC Barcelona. Watch the VIDEOS of the Real Madrid - At Madrid goals below:

SPANISH FOOTBALL SOOCER LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 / 2010 - GAMES RESULTS

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
Spanish Football Soccer League ( La Liga ) action yesterday with three results & SFS was out of town & could not put them up earlier. Here are the scores in case you haven´t yet seen them:

MALAGA 1 ( Apoño 66th min) - TENERIFE 1 (Alfaro 85th min)

MALLORCA 0 - FC BARCELONA 1 (Ibrahimovic 63rd min). The bad news for Barça fans coming out of this match is the injury of Andres Iniesta who will be out for around 10 days.

REAL ZARAGOZA 3 (Diogo 40th, Arizmendi 63rd & Jaroik 71st min) - VALENCIA 0. Valencia missed David Villa during this game who was out injured.

Tonight - Sunday - Spanish Football continued with more games with OSASUNA winning ALMERIA 1-0. The goal scorer for Osasuna was PANDIANI in the 19th min. Vital win for Osasuna who can certainly use the three points in their particular struggle to avoid the lower places.

DEPORTIVO were overrun by an inspired GETAFE who won 1-3. The only goal for Deportivo came thanks to RIKI in the 71st min. Before that consolation goal, Getafe got their three via MIKU ( 20th & 57th min) & ZE CASTRO (own goal 31st min).

RCD ESPANYOL played 0-0 draw with REAL SPORTING DE GIJON.

XEREZ are doing everything possible to pull off a "miracle" & avoid relegation with a convincing 3-0 victory over "troubled" VALLADOLID. The goals for Xerez came via SANCHEZ (21st min), MICHEL (35th min) & BERMEJO via a penalty (72nd min)

VILLAREAL took SEVILLA FC further into problems with a authoritative 3-0 victory. Sacking Manolo Jimenez as Sevilla Coach seems not to have been the answer to avoid losing games as witnessed tonight. ROSSI scored first in the 4th min, followed by LLORENTE in the 17th min & PIRES in the 90th min.

VIDEO: DIEGO FORLAN TAKES OUT HIS RAGE WITH ATLETICO FANS WITH GOAL AGAINST ATH BILBAO

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
ATLETICO DE MADRID forward DIEGO FORLAN scored the first goal in last nights 2-0 victory over Athletic de Bilbao & in doing so let out some long held "steam" towards the Atletico supporters in his post celebration.

The Uruguayan striker ran straight to the area where the more "extreme" Atletico fans congregate, faced them directly & screamed "...AND NOW WHAT!". Some media sources have gone further & have added that those words were followed with "...NOW SUCK THIS!". These last words cannot be proven & SFS will not give them credibility here at all. What is true is that the player did certainly release tension that had been building up within after fans had questioned his performances this season & he was receiving whistles.

The player later confirmed this to Spanish TV after the match with:
"Estoy dolido porque parece que la gente tiene poca memoria"

(translated: "It hurts because it seems people have little memory")
making reference to his outstanding contribution last season after gaining the European Golden Boot as the highest goal scorer in European Football. However, some at the Club, including the fans believe the player this season is "bitter" with Atletico for "stopping" in the pre-season a possible transfer offer from Real Madrid, & thus feel this is the reason for Forlan´s lower goal tally & less than 100% performances this season.

Either way, one should not take this out of context & I am sure the player is feeling better today with that release of tension & getting some words off this chest. Nothing like goals to ease the pains away. Here is the VIDEO of the goal that served to help Atletico onto victory & had a therapeutic effect:

SPANISH FOOTBALL SOCCER LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 / 2010 - THURSDAY GAMES RESULTS

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog/
Two games tonight to finish off the mid week Spanish League - La Liga - action with Real Madrid regaining the top spot of the classification table.

REAL MADRID won 2- 4 away to GETAFE with the job all done in the 1º half; the rest of the game was even, conservative & Getafe managed two goals. It all began with a free-kick goal from RONALDO in the 13th min, followed by two goals by HIGUAIN ( 20th & 23rd min) & again by RONALDO in the 37th min.

The two goals from Getafe came in the 38th via PAREJO & LEON in the 80th min.

ATLETICO DE MADRID won 2-0 ATHLETIC DE BILBAO in a great 2º half after the first 45 mins was more in favour of the visitors. The goals came in the 54th min via FORLAN & AGUERO secured things in the 85th min.

SFS FLASHBACKS: SAMUEL ETO´O : VIDEO 2º GOAL INTER MILAN LIVORNO

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
What is ex Real Madrid, Mallorca & FC Barcelona star forward SAMUEL ETO´O dong these days? The player is at Inter Milan & apparently after a good start to the season, suffered a mid-season rough patch & now seems to be coming back to his very best. Great timing for Inter who will welcome his goals while they fight out the Italian Serie A title & attempt to further go on in Champions League.

Yesterday Eto´o scored two goals in Inter Milan 3-1 victory over Livorno in Serie A. Check this VIDEO of this magnificent 2º goal by the ex-Barca star...:

Many Barça fans & local Sports commentators have voiced that they miss Eto´o this season upfront for Barcelona. Some comment that Ibrahimovic hasn´t the diverse habilities for Spanish Football - obviously the Swede is still adapting - that Eto´o has & the defensive qualities of an attacker.

If your a Barça fan, do you miss Eto´o?

SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER - LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 2010 - MID WEEK GAMES RESULTS

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
The Spanish Football - Soccer - League (La Liga) celebrated 6 games tonight as the mid-week schedule & action continues; with still two more games to b played tomorrow.

FC BARCELONA defeated 2-0 OSASUNA but were pushed to limits by a competitive visitor who had clear chances in the 1st half. So much so, that Coach Guardiola reacted substituting Henry for Pedro at the start of the 2ºhalf & it seemed to work.

It was a Pedro action that allowed IBRAHIMOVIC to finally score in the 72nd min even if it wasn´t estetically pleasing. From here Barça slowly gained back its authority & BOJAN sentenced in the 88th min. FC Barcelona take back top spot in the classification table with Real Madrid to play tomorrow its game.

VILLAREAL drew its game against TENERIFE away 2-2, & allowed the home team to rise from the dead & nearly take the game. Villareal dominated throughout & NILMAR scored first in the 46th min to put the visitors ahead. From here the home side turned things around with two quick goals by NINO (60th min) & CULEBRAS (76th min) which rocked Villareal. But ROSSI saved Villareal in the 88th min to equalize & allow his side to take a point.

ALMERIA continue with their winning ways & defeated REAL ZARAGOZA 1-0 with goal by UCHE in the 61st min. A disputed game of Football with chances that will leave Zaragoza with some frustration in their body.

Two teams fighting for 1º Division survival, VALLADOLID & ESPANYOL, finished in a 0-0 draw with both behaving on the the field conservative & not thinking at risking at all. The cost of a loss are just too high for both at this stage.

RACING DE SANTANDER also struggling in the lower classification levels were brave & showed "grit" to keep at bay REAL MALLORCA with a 0-0 draw. Lots of chances in an intereting match that unfortunately finished without goal.

VALENCIA CF won 1-0 MALAGA thanks to the solitary goal from DAVID VILLA in the 13th min. Valencia CF were far better tonight but could not manage to break away from Malaga who nearly equalized if not for the Valencia goalkeeper Cesar who saved his side. A win for Valencia, with a scoreline that they gladly take & along with it the 3 points

Tomorrow more mid-week Liga action with 2 games:
Getafe - Real Madrid
At Madrid - At Bilbao

TRANSFER SPECULATION 2010: RIBERY LIKES SPAIN & CHELSEA FC LIKES VAN DER VAART

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
The FRANCK RIBERY fish tail keeps wagging as the season comes soon to its end & the future of the BAYERN MUNICH player becomes daily news within the Football World. The Frenchmen has spoken & has already eliminated a candidate: CHELSEA FC. According to his comments to Sports daily “Sport Bild” he will be making a final choice in the coming weeks & his desire is to play in Spain if he finally decides NOT to renew with Bayern Munich.

In fact, Ribery goes on to add that the two other candidates (along with Bayern) are FC BARCELONA & REAL MADRID. For the Striker it’s not a question of only money, it also about his wife who longs for a more “Southern European” climate & “way of life”, & this is a factor that will be taken into account when deciding.

Meanwhile, at REAL MADRID, the news has jumped onto the local online editions (“AS” & “Marca”) that CHELSEA FC is seriously thinking in Real Madrid Dutch International VAN DER VAART as the replacement for Deco. The current state of form, with goals included, have put the midfielder back into the European Footabll spotlight & the Premier League Club has taken note. In fact, the story makes reference on how it was Chelsea FC Italian Coach Ancelotti who specifically asked that Van Der Vaar be part of next seasons project, something that will need more evidence.

The price that Chelsea FC puts up for the Dutchman is 11M€, which is a bit short of what Real would expect, plus it´s in the interest of Madrid to see how their player performs in the upcoming World Cup tournament with Holland.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER - LEAGUE LA LIGA 2009 -2010 MID WEEK GAMES RESULTS

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
Spanish Football - Soccer - League has mid week action & celebrated two games tonight with some interesting results.

REAL SPORTING DE GIJON won 2-1 DEPORTIVO in a game that Deportivo nearly turned around. Deportivo went down to 10 men when goalie Aranzabia fouled outside his area, this put Deportivo behind the 8 ball early & they paid when BILIC scored for Sporting in the 29th min. But as it happens at times, Deportivo played better with 10 men & ADRIAN equalized in the 65th min. The game went to a cliff hanger when Deportivo defender fouled in the penalty area & was sent off with a red card. Sporting scored the penalty & the winner via DIEGO CASTRO in the 94th min to secure the 3 points. Very close!

SEVILLA FC have been shook hard after their Champions League elimination with Coach Manolo Jimenez being questioned rumoured that he may be sacked & put under pressure. But on top of all this extreme bad luck has entered the equation with a string off injuries that are hard to believe to key men: in the last game Navas was injured & tonight Perotti ( 24th min) & Zokara (44 th min) both were changed with injuries.

The game against last placed XEREZ took on a bigger dimension then originally planned & finished in an 1-1 draw that will cause more internal earthquakes at Sevilla FC. The first goal came via a penalty which KANOUTE transformed in the 65th min, but Xerez equalized in the last moment via GOIDA in the 91st min.

How cruel Football can be & how all can change in just a week as Sevilla are finding.

Tomorrow night 6 games are scheduled.

LATEST NEWS FLASH: it´s 01.00 & the news is that SEVILLA FC Coach Manolo Jimenez has been sacked. SFS believes that it´s a harsh & possibly terribe mistake at this point & moment of the season. Football is cruel, very cruel

ATLETICO DE MADRID GOALIE DE GEA WISHED BY MANCHESTER UNITED TO SUBSTITUTE DER SAR

English Football giant MANCHESTER UNITED is thinking & already searching for a goalkeeper to substitute their veteran player VAN DER SAR. The Dutch International is 40 years old & plans to stay one more season at United before moving on elsewhere or may consider retiring.
Manchester United has someone already in mind, ATLETICO DE MADRID 19 year old goalkeeper DAVID DE GEA, also the Spanish International keeper for the U/19 squad. The Spanish youngster has exploded this season with Atletico after some outstanding performances in the Spanish Cup & the Europa League that has earned him the starting keeper position at Atletico for the League as well. De Gea not only has talent but shows weekly an unusual & rare maturity for a player of his age that signals that he is heading for the Top.

The English Champions have travelled already to Madrid to discuss the possible signing & has received a clear NO from the Spanish Club who at this moment has no intention of selling its young promise. The intention of Manchester United was to get De Gea over for the 2011-2012 season allowing the Atletico player another season more to mature in the Spanish League. Seems this plan has been foiled for the moment, but as with everything in Football what is white today can be black tomorrow.

FC BARCELONA & REAL MADRID FOLLOWING YOUNG STAR LUKAKU - "THE NEW DROGBA"

His name is ROMELU LUKAKU, a 16 year old forward who is currently the Belgium League youngest & leading Top goal scorer with 15 goals in 28 games. The young ANDERLECTH teen is a “moving tank” with 1.90 m height & his 95 kilos of pure muscle. The Ivory Coast teenager is being compared to Chelsea FC star forward Didier Drogba & has been labelled as his successor.

FC BARCELONA & REAL MADRID are said to be closely following the player, along as logical, with Chelsea FC, AC Milan & Arsenal. Lukaku will remain at his Club another season at least as close advisors feel that he is still too young to make the big jump aboard.

Take note of the boy, could well end up in Spain.

ENGLISH SIRENS KEEP SOUNDING FOR DAVID VILLA

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
From England & its newspaper the “Daily Mail” we get news that CHELSEA FC & MANCHESTER CITY has Valencia CF & Spanish International forward DAVID VILLA as a top priority for next season. This is a recurring announcement as Chelsea in particular tried without luck last year & has never stopped thinking with Villa. However, there may well be stiff competition from FC BARCELONA & it is rumoured REAL MADRID is an option as well, the latter thinking in attempting again their failed operation last season.

What is clear is the David Villa with his 28 years of age, perfectly realizes that this could be his last opportunity to play in a “BIG” team, win mayor titles & do his thing on the mayor Champions League stage. His Club Valencia CF owe it to him after they “blocked” the opportunity last summer for Villa to land at Real or at Barça & they could also use the money.

It is rumoured the both mentioned English Clubs have signalled a 45M€ transfer price for the Spanish forward. David Villa has commented that he looks favourably to play outside Spain, but his preference is to stay in Spain for family reasons. Either way, the forward will not make a decision until the end of Spain’s participation in this years South African World Cup. Here, if Villa shines brightly as a star, the 45M€ price figure could finally fall short. Stay tuned!

REAL MADRID FOLLOWING BRAZILIAN 18 YEAR OLD PROMISE NEYMAR

Source: Spanish Football Sport Blog /
Spanish daily paper “AS” publishes that there is a new Brazilian Football star on the horizon & his agent has him in REAL MADRID in the near future. Firstly, apart from the fact that this is a representative initiative – which in itself smells a bit from the beginning – lets dwell deeper into this highlighted player.

He is NEYMAR an 18 year old player currently with SANTOS who some are hailing as the “New Robinho”. Apparently Real Madrid has been following the youngster since 2007 & has been studying closely his evolution. Wagner Ribeiro, the player’s manager, has commented to local media “Estadao” that he sees the future of his player at Real. However, the father of Neymar thinks it is too early for the 18 year old to travel overseas & should continue with his progression at Santos.

The youngster has scored 10 goals so far this season. SFS will be taking note of the name & will be keeping an eye on future developments.

Watch a VIDEO of the “Kid” in action. Neymar is the Number 7:

At least Neymar can dance!

LIONEL MESSI: 2º GOAL AGAINST REAL ZARAGOZA VIDEO

LIONEL MESSI scored a Hat-trick ( second consecutive) yesterday in FC Barcelona ´s 2-4 win over Real Zaragoza. Here is the VIDEO of the 2º goal from Messi that was a real gem & illustrates the talent & class of this young man who is destined for bigger & greater things.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER - LEAGUE - LA LIGA 2009 / 2010 - ROUND 29 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

The Spanish Football - Soccer - League (La Liga) celebrated its last 5 games of Round 29 with more goals than yesterday. Here are the results, scorers & images of tonights Football action.

REAL ZARAGOZA 2 - LIONEL MESSI 4 ( sorry, I meant FC BARCELONA). The Argentine has hit a sweet vain of form that has put him back at the Top of the World. The number 10 scored another HAT-TRICK ( 4th , 65th & 78th min) & caused the 4th goal which IBRAHIMOVIC converted in the 90th min when Messi was held in the penalty area. Simply said, it was a delight to watch Messi tonight.

Zaragoza mada a mini-comeback with two goals from COLUNGO in the 85th & 89th min, but it was pride more than game quality.

Another great player that was vital tonight in his teams 2- 0 victory was DAVID SILVA. VALENCIA CF won ALMERIA with goals from MATA in the 63rd min set up by Silva, & SILVA who then scored in the 70th min to seal things & the 3 points.

OSASUNA lost to RACING 1-3 with the visitors finding form in the best moment of the season as they fight to stay in 1º Division. It was Osasuna who scored first via defender FLAÑO in the 32 nd min, but that was all from the home team. Racing equalized in the 34th min via COLSA that was followed by another in the 50th via CHRISTIAN & the third came in the 89th with DIPO

MALAGA have lifted lately & continue with another good result with todays 2-0 win over VILLAREAL. BAHA scored both goals for Malaga & the only ones of the game in the 64th & 84th min.

MALLORCA claims a spot in Champions next season after bulldozing ATLETICO DE MADRID 4-1. Atletico without Sergio Aguero are not the same & new signing Salvio still has a way to go, but it was their defence that was the true disaster with a horror match from Atletico defender Perea. VICTOR scored in the 10th min for Mallorca & DIEGO FORLAN equalized in the 25th min from a Jurado pass. It was all Mallorca then onwards with goals from ADURIZ in the 27th min, PEREA with an own goal in the 65th min & MATTIONI in the 90th min. To try to give some reason to the Atletico "disaster", the team went down to 10 men in the 54 min when Raul Garcia was sent off with a red card ( 2 yellow), but that isn´t any excuse at all.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER - LEAGUE 2009 2010 - LA LIGA - ROUND 29 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish League Football - Soccer - action tonight with 5 games played of Round 29 with plenty of goals, surprises & the usual fair share of scares for the fans.

REAL MADRID defeated 3-1 REAL SPORTING DE GIJON to keep the Top place on the ladder, but suffered tonight. Real looked too much at ease & without any tension which allowed the visitors to grow in confidence. In fact, Sporting gave signs that they were on a roll soon & BARRAL finally put a big scare throughout the "Santiago Bernabeu Stadium" when he riffled home a goal for Sporting in the 52th min.

This seemed to wake up Real who reacted with a quickly, when VAN DER VAART scored a goal when the ball bounced off the Sporting goalie Pablo from a Ronaldo free-kick "rocket". Sporting claimed that Van der Vaart hand-balled but the referee gave it his OK in the 54th min. Another followed in the 57th min with a header from XABI ALONSO that meant his teams second goal.

In the 67th min Sporting would claim a penalty, & in the counter-attack HIGUAIN scored Real Madrid´s third goal in the & his 20th this season. Watch the goal on the below VIDEO:

Three points for Real that were worked hard by them as they went through a long rough patch for first 53 minutes.

Last placed XEREZ won 2-1 second last placed TENERIFE in a brave match the keeps alive hopes - however slim - that they may avoid relegation. BERMEJO scored for the home team in the 7th min, with another by AYTHAMI in the 15th min. Tenerife pulled one back in the 44th min via NINO but the home team were on a "mission" & fought more for the victory.

Another team with classification problems VALLADOLID finally won, & away 0-2 DEPORTIVO. The goals came thanks to NAUZET in the 29th & MEDUNJANIN in the 91st min. Extremely valuable 3 points for Valladolid indeed!

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO played 2-2 draw with GETAFE in an extremely tough & physical game that had a red card for each team. ORBAIZ scored for the home side in the 13th min & that was equalized in the 32nd by DE MORAL. Things go "hot" & "rough" & later LLORENTE scored for Bilbao in the 81st min to see how LEON equalized in the 86th min. Points shared with the knocks as well.

The mid-week Champions League elimination of SEVILLA FC has affected them as they lost away 2-0 to a great & spirited RCD ESPANYOL. Sevilla had chances & missed them to see how OSVALDO made them pay dearly by scoring twice in the 8th & 60th min. Great night for Espanyol who needed the points & a night too forget for Sevilla.

END OF THE ROAD FOR RAUL AT REAL MADRID?

Source: Spanish Football Sports Blog /
Spanish Sports daily “AS” publishes today news that most of us already suspect, that REAL MADRID’s legendary & record breaking Captain RAUL Gonzalez Blanco could be living his last months as a player at the Club.

Raul has another year of contract & his deep desire is to finish his legal obligations. But after three months on the bench & the knowledge that the Clubs President & Football Directives do not count with him, the Captain desires not to be a “problem” & may well decide to say GOODBYE at the end of the season. It is commented in the corridors of the Real Madrid offices that Raul is not in their plans for 2010-2011 & Raul is waiting for either President Perez or General Director Valdano to communicate this officially to him so that he can begin planning his future asap & thus get the farewell that he so richly deserves in front of his home crowd at the “Santiago Bernabeu Stadium”. That moment could well be the 9th of May in the Real Madrid vs. Athletic de Bilbao match.

Meanwhile, speculations are that Raul may consider finishing his career either in England, Germany or in the USA. It is still rumour & speculation at this point, until Raul goes public & makes his announcement, but its fairly obvious & logical observing & hearing what is occurring & being said “around town”.
