FIFA RANKINGS | SPAIN IN 10TH POSITION

FIFA has released its monthly Football Nations World Rankings, in this case for the month of October. In the case of SPAIN they drop to Nº10 from Nº8 position, with the defeat against Slovakia 2 - 1 in their Euro 2016 Group match a prime cause.

Current World Champs Germany remains on top & Nations like Colombia & Belguim are enjoying some unprecedented high positions. Portugal gets back into the Top 10.

FIFA RANKING | SPAIN DROPS TO 8TH POSITION

As expected Spain has been dethroned from the Nº1 spot on the FIFA World Ranking. Their disastrous Brazil 2014 World Cup campaign - with elimination after just two Group matches - puts the Spain National Team down to the 8th position after reigning in the Nº1 spot for the last 6 straight years.

The newly crowed FIFA World Champions Germany now takes the Nº 1 spot with 1,724 pts & Argentina runner-up is in second position. The rest of the placings take more or less how the Nations ended in the recent World Cup.

Spain has a chance to add some points & perhaps lift in rankings when they meet Germany in a International Friendly match here in Spain (Vigo) in Novembre.

REVISED FASTEST FOOTBALL - SOCCER PLAYERS IN THE WORLD | FIFA RANKING

Some time ago I published a list by FIFA listing the "Fastest Football Players on the Planet". The current & ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil has put on show some of those listed & apparently has lead to modify the list. One devastating example was the opening match of Group B between Spain & Holland, where Arjen Robben reached 37 Km/h to overtake Sergio Ramos & later score. This registered velocity has put Arjen Robben as the "Fastest Footballer in World Soccer" at this moment. I say at the moment because speed has to do with current physical conditions of the players. The differences between Nº 1 & Nº10 are few & can change over weeks & months depending on how the players are in form at any given time.

Below is the current & latest list of the Top 10 quickest Football Players on Earth

Robben Fastest Football Player
Arjen Robben reaches 37 km/h

1. Robben 37 Km/h (Bayern Munich)

2. Walcott. 35,7 km/h (Arsenal FC)

4. Bale. 34,7 km/h (Real Madrid CF)

5. Lennon. 33,8 km/h (Tottenham Hotspurs)

6. Cristiano Ronaldo. 33,6 km/h (Real Madrid CF)

7. Messi. 32,5 km/h (FC Barcelona)

8. Rooney. 31,2 km/h (Manchester United)

9. Ribéry. 30,7 km/h (Bayern Munich)

10. Sergio Ramos 30,6 km/h (Real Madrid CF)

SPAIN GOES INTO WORLD CUP Nº1 IN FIFA RANKING

SPAIN goes into the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil as the Nº1 Ranked Football Nation. FIFA has released its monthly rankings with Spain remaining Nº1 with 1485pts, followed by Germany with 1300 pts & hosts Brazil third with 1242.

The Spanish Football National Team are the current World Champions & will attempt to defend title, a feat that is very difficult as no Nation has won back-to-back FIFA World Cup Championships.

The Brazilians are the "hot" favourites, along with other countries like Germany. But Football observers mention that Belgium could be a "dark horse". Either way we will soon see as the World Cup kicks off the 12th of June with the opening match between Brazil & Croatia. Spain begins its campaign the following day against Holland.

FIFA has released today its monthly World Rankings for December with Spain Nº1. The Spanish Football National Team finishes the year as the "Best Football Nation" & it is the 6th consecutive year that Spain finishes in the Nº1 position.

The Spanish Male National Football Team is the current European & FIFA World Champions & take all the spotlight. However, there is Female Spanish National Football Team which is doing well & deserves much more media coverage & attention.

Thought that I would post up the great news that our Female Footballers have jumped up two places in the latest FIFA World Rankings to the 15th position. This year has been good to our girls having the National Team reach the quarterfinals of the Euro Championships in Sweden.

Spanish Football - Soccer

Spain continues in the Nº1 spot even though the team lost to South Africa in their last Friendly International match. There was a chance that the game could be called null due to the "goalkeeping extra substitute" issue ( > 6 changes ) , but FIFA has announced that it stands & will be official. Spain has a "healthy" points lead over second placed Germany which is second. The Nation that has made a big leap in positions is Portugal which lifts nine places into the Nº 5 position.

The next actualization of the FIFA Rankings will be next month.

SPAIN REMAINS NUMBER ONE FOR JUNE | FIFA WORLD RANKING

FIFA has released today its "World Ranking" of Football nations for the month of June. SPAIN remains once again the Number One position as the "Best Football Nation", ahead of Germany & Argentina, second & third respectively.

However, the real big news is Brazil, which fell to a historical low number 22 position. The lowest spot in the World Rankings for Brazil since FIFA put into place the current system. There is an explanation, Brazil hasn't has not had as many official matches as other nations & this has affected their ranking. They have a chance to lift again if they can put in a good performance in the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup tournament.
