SPANISH FOOTBALL FLASHBACK | REAL SOCIEDAD WIN THEIR FIRST LEAGUE TITLE SEASON 1980 - 81

SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER has been traditionally dominanted by Real Madrid & FC Barcelona, but there has been seasons ( plenty ) were the two Club dominantion has been broken & the impact so outstanding that they stay burnt in the the memory of local  Football History.

Spanish Football Sports would like to dedicate a FLASHBACK post to season 1980 - 81 & remember the historical REAL SOCIEDAD team that won the Spanish Football League title in a dramatic & historical fashion in the very last second.

Here is the run down to put things into context. Real Madrid & Real Sociedad had chances to win the League Title in the very last round. Real Madrid needed to win their last match at Valladolid, which they did 1 - 3, while Real Sociedad only needed a point ( a draw) for the title.

While Real Madrid waited at Valladolid after winning 1 - 3 their game, news via the radio gave the score at Sporting de Gijon 2 - 1 with Sociedad losing in the 90th min. The Real Madrid players thought they had won the Spanish League Title & celebrated at the Valladolid ground. But in extra-time at Gijon with the home side 2 -1 up, Real Sociedad player ZAMORA scored the equalizer ( 2 - 2 ) in the LAST SECOND, thus giving them the Spanish Title for the first time in the Clubs history. Real Madrid back at Valladolid celebrating could not believe it. Watch this must see VIDEO with the first part observing how Real Madrid win ( in blue) & later how Real Sociedad pull off the miracle:

Amazing, & Spanish Football history worthy of a Flashback.

Real Sociedad would again win the Spanish Football League Title season 1981 - 1982, making it back - to - back Liga titles & putting the Real Sociedad squad in the Olympus of Club memories eternally.

THE MARX BROTHERS - ATLETICO DE MADRID 2011 | TRANSFERS UPDATES

SPANISH FOOTBALL may well have its own Football Club run by Marx Brothers look alikes, ATLETICO DE MADRID

Spanish Football

But while most of the local Sports Press & supporters watch baffled at the Clubs policy, performance & the way they are bleeding the Club with star player departures, there is news of transfer negotiations & rumours to fill up the gaps for next season, even though the players talked about may well be bargain sale specials ( not all, but some)

Spain Football
Diego Forlan

After wishing to leave ( he offered himself to Real Madrid & English Clubs) Atletico de Madrid all last season, DIEGO FORLAN has commented for South America that he is now happy to continue & finish the rest of his two years left in his contract. The disappearance of Coach Sanchez Flores & the more than likely departure of Sergio Aguero brings back the spotlight on the Uruguayan forward. It is either this,  or that no other Club has offered the player a deal he cannot refuse. Perhaps he is waiting to "star" in the "Copa America" & again change his mind & wish to leave. Funny bloke our Forlan.

Aimar

New Atletico de Madrid Coach Gregorio Manzano is a big fan of 31 year old Argentine midfielder & BENFICA player PABLO AIMAR. The ex-Zaragoza & Valencia player has received an offer from Atletico de Madrid to comeback to Spanish Football. Stay tuned.

Spanish Football
Courtois

After selling the most promising goalkeeper in Spanish Football & a future World Star David De Gea to Manchester United, Atletico de Madrid need to fill a huge hole under the posts. The chosen candidate is young 19 year old goalkeeper from Belguim Club GENK called COURTOIS.

Other names circulating the "Animal Crackers" Club are U-21 Golden Boot & European Champ ADRIAN who has his Atletico future currently blocked by his current Club DEPORTIVO who wish to get paid more than originally promised. This would be indeed an interesting signing.

Lastly, VILLAREAL Italian International ROSSI is the candidate spoken about to fill the place of Sergio Aguero ( if he leaves). Rossi was connected with FC Barcelona, but that option has gone cold & now Atletico could take up the glove.

Stay tuned, we are assured some laughs in coming days & weeks.

SERGIO AGUERO CLOSE TO JUVENTUS ? DON´T SEE IT ( AT THIS MOMENT)

SPANISH FOOTBALL is a buzz with transfer speculation, one being the future of Argentine International & ATLETICO DE MADRID forward SERGIO AGUERO. From Italy & from its Sports paper "La Gazzetta dello Sport", the Italians see Ageuro as a Juventus player - nearly.

Spanish Football
Sergio Aguero

The Italian Club has Aguero as their Nº 1 priority, & have offered 35M€, to which Atletico wants 40M€. To continue negotiations it is said that the Clubs will meet early next week to continue advancing. However there are some points that makes me believe that the optimism of Juventus may be torpedoed & that signing Aguero is not so easy as the Italian press makes one believe:

1. The Aguero purpose for leaving Atletico is to play on the European stage, concretely Champions League. Juventus hasn´t qualified for Europe & Atletico has, at least for the Champions League prelimary qualifiers. Does it seem logical to leave a Club for another not in Europe?

2. Aguero has said publicly he wishes to stay in Madrid.
3. Maradona - his father in law - let "slip" his future was in the city of Madrid
4. The salary of Aguero is around 6.5 - 7M€ ( net ). In Italy due to tax laws that would have to be higher ( gross wise ) to keep his level. Few Clubs in the World can pay his salary.

All clues point to REAL MADRID & some say there may all ready be a "verbal agreement".

The big existing problem is that Atletico de Madrid cannot openly sell Sergio Aguero to Real Madrid due to the supporters backlash. Atletico de Madrid owner Gil Marin is "frightened" of how Atletico fans will react selling their star to the enemy. Thus a whole series of "strategies" need to be put in place to "soften" public opinion & it looks as if that process has already began. Comments from Atletico de Madrid President Cerezo yesterday has attempted to put some water on the Aguero fire & if things go accordingly, Real Madrid ( who does not wish to break Club relations with Atletico ) may begin opening talks & pressuring further.

The "JUVENTUS manoeuvring" also "smells" like pressure from Sergio Aguero,  & a clear message to Real Madrid to get "their shit together" & lift a few gears with the transfer process & negotiation.

I see Sergio Aguero in Real Madrid, it is the true desire of the player & Real Madrid is interested. Does this mean that the "Juventus option" is therefore discarded? No,  one can never say never, Football is too volatile to make clear predictions, but if I had to bet today I see Aguero closer to Real Madrid than any other Club. Stay tuned!

FC BARCELONA SEALS YOUNG MIDFIELDER THIAGO UNTIL 2015

SPANISH FOOTBALL & 20 year old FC BARCELONA young midfield sensation THIAGO ALCANTARA for come to an agreement with his Club to extend his contract until 2015 & raise his contract release clause to a whooping 90M€. This way Barça keeps at bay the wolves that have been circling their "young puppy" this last week. Lets remember that Manchester United supposedly offered around 17M€ for the young player, that Chelsea FC was asking for price & worst of all for Barça, the shadow of Real Madrid was in view.

Spanish Football
Thiago

This piece of "afternoon" breaking news leads one to think, what about Cesc Fabregas? Below is a post Spanish Football Sports uploaded this morning that questioned if a move to Barça by Fabregas was in his best interest. Observing the news regarding Thiago, makes me wonder if Cesc will be a "regular" player at FC Barcelona.

Congratulations to Thiago.

CESC FABRAGAS GOING TO FC BARCELONA A REAL MISTAKE ?

The positions between FC BARCELONA & ARSENAL FC are getting closer & it looks that the transfer of the Arsenal Captain CESC FABREGAS is close & soon to be shut. Its taken three years of on-off-on bargaining & strategic planning to get the "prodigal son" back to Barcelona. However the question is , does Barcelona really need Cesc? Or a bigger question for the future of Cesc Fabregas, is FC Barcelona the right Club to make a move to & continue on with his career?

Spanish Football
Cesc Fabregas

The Cesc Fabregas move to FC Barcelona seems to be soaked with spiritual, almost religious, reasons that cloud a more cold & thought out logical process of rational analysis. The Barcelona Club feels an ethical & moral obligation to sign Cesc Fabregas paying 35 - 40M€ when the Clubs has no "cash- flow". The player, Cesc Fabregas, wants to get back to Barcelona to spend time with his mates Pique & Puyol. Morality? Ethics? Friendship? Dangerous words & "vibrations" that any serious professional should avoid if they are serious in their thirst for triumph, titles, success & progression.

Lets look at the actual FC Barcelona team & look at the position Cesc Fabregas is supposed to add value: the midfield. Barça has already Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano, Keita...& young "sensacion" Thiago. Does Barcelona need Cesc Fabregas?

But here is the question most local observers are asking: will Barcelona pay 35-40M€ to have Cesc Fabregas spend more time on the bench than on the field? Can anyone think seriously that Fabregas will displace Xavi or Iniesta? if so, I can imagine Xavi & Iniesta having a chat with Guardiola asking why their "mate" is playing in THEIR position.

Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal is Captain, vital in the team set up & adored by his fans. Cesc Fabregas at FC Barcelona will be just another good midfield player, on the bench as a great substitute to Xavi & Iniesta, the grand mate of Pique & Puyol.

Current Coach Guardiola is the big supporter of Cesc Fabregas & has asked that the Club make an effort to get the player over. But Guardiola has threatened on many occasion to end his stint at Barça: If Guardiola decides to end his stay next season?

I get the feeling that Cesc Fabregas has thought more with his heart & feelings than with his head. I feel that it is a big mistake the move to Barcelona & that the career of Cesc Fabregas will be seriously altered from "super-star" to "just a midfielder" status. Football is a serious matter, its much more than hanging out with your mates & having fun; its work & lots of dedication in an every changing daily environment. I hope I am wrong,  as the player has the talent to be a huge star & give us nights of Football magic. I don't want to see the man on a bench cheering on his mates & wondering why.

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS | SPAIN U - 21 2011 TEAM PHOTO

This a picture to keep, the SPAIN U-21 2011 starting 11 that won the final of the U-21 European Championship against Switzerland. It will be interesting to look back at this photo in five years & see which of these youngster made it big in Spanish &/or World Football.

Spain U-21 2011

Already Javi Martinez (At Bilbao), Mata ( Valencia CF) & De Gea ( soon Man Utd) are on their way to bigger things. However, behind them is an interesting list of promises like Thiago (FC Barcelona), Botia (Sporting), Adrian ( possible At Madrid), Montoya (FC Barcelona), Muniain (At Bilbao), Herrera (At Bilbao)  & Didac (Ac Milan) who look just as promising with an amazing future ahead of them.

What is assured is that Spain & Spanish Football has future & substitutes for the A-Team.

REAL MADRID SIGNS YOUNG FRENCH DEFENDER RAPHAEL VARANE

Busy day yesterday for young 18 year old French central defender RAFAEL VARANE. The now ex LENS player landed in Madrid close to 15.00 & was rushed for his medical exam & then droven to the "Santiago Bernabeu Stadium" were he signed his new six year contract with REAL MADRID. From here back in a car & to the airport to fly back to France.

Spanish Sports Football
New Real Madrid player Varane

The price for Real Madrid was 10M€ & the youngster came thanks to Zinedine Zidane who commented that Varane is destined for bigger & greater things. So much so, that the ex Real Madrid player compared the young defender to the great Blanc who gave such admirable services to FC Barcelona & to French Football.

With the incorporation of Varane, Real Madrid has "overbooking" of defenders & will have to see who from their list they needed to find a "new home" elsewhere. At the moment Garay looks like being the one soon to leave the Club with perhaps another to be confirmed.

Welcome to Spanish Football, Varane!

ATLETICO DE MADRID SIGNS SILVIO FROM SPORTING DE BRAGA

Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE MADRID has announced the signing of Portugues defender from SPORTING DE BRAGA, SILVIO Manuel Azevedo of 23 years of age.

Spanish Football
New Atletico de Madrid player Silvio

The player signs for the next 5 seasons & will be officially presented tomorrow in Madrid.

While with Atletico de Madrid & staying with transfers, Atletico de Madrid goalie DAVID DE GEA was in the city of Manchester this afternoon undergoing the medical checks before signing up with his new Club MANCHESTER UNITED.

FC BARCELONA | MANCHESTER UNITED MAKE A 17M€ OFFER FOR THIAGO ?

THIAGO, 20 year old FC Barcelona player & Spanish U - 21 Football Team player, is hot property at this moment. His performance in the just finished UEFA U-21 European Championships with Spain has catapulated Thiago to the frontline, along with his MVP award in the Final against Switzerland & his spectacular goal that helped give Spain the Euro title.

Spanish Football
Spanish U-21 player Thiago

News from England, concretely from the "Daily Mirror", states that English Premier League Club MANCHESTER UNITED has supposedly offered FC BARCELONA 17M€ to secure the services of the youngster for next season. In fact there are many "rumoured" European Clubs looking at Thiago,  & thinking about attempting to sign the Barça player: Chelsea Fc, Arsenal, Roma, Atletico de Madrid..., even Real Madrid has been mentioned.

The situation is that Thiago has a contract release clause of 10M€ until the 30th of June, which automatically jumps to 30M€ thereafter, thus Clubs maybe thinking about getting in before the 30th of June.

Added to all this the youngster may consider an offer, seeing that if Barça signs CESC FABREGAS he may see his playing time limited. This may push Thiago to look elsewhere to further develop his Football skills & guarantee steady playing time. In fact, FC Barcelona need to raise cash in order to be able to sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal & may look favourably in selling their new young star.  The only doubt I see at this moment is the desire of the player not to leave Spain &, if comments are correct, leave Barça. Said this, anything is possible with a good deal & a good offer. Stay tuned!

For those wondering, Thiago was born in Bari Italy, his father is ex Valencia CF & ex Brazilian International & 1994 World Champion player MAZINHO . He also has a younger brother, Rafinho, playing at FC Barcelona who also has huge talents.

Spanish Forward ADRIAN was announced "Player of the Championship" & his 5 goals gave him the "Leading Goal scorer Award". FC Barcelona player THIAGO was awarded "Man of The Match" for the Final. However, I would like to mention the extraordinary performance of At. Bilbao midfielder & Spain Captain JAVI MARTINEZ who for me was the man of the whole tournament.

Spanish Football
Goal Spain by Herrera

Switzerland are a fine team with some excellent players that held Spain with some tight disciplined defending. But in the 40th min ANDER HERRERA headed a magnificent cross to put Spain ahead in a Swiss lapse.

Spain Football
Thiago for Spain

Spain dominated most of the 2º half but were not able to "kill off" a stubborn Swiss team that kept looking for the equalizer & even had a clear chance from a set piece that did not happen for them. Then in the 80th min while Spain made a substitution, THIAGO took a free kick from 35 mts that caught the Swiss goalie off his line  & surprised everyone with the second & the clincher for Spain.

This goal basically finished things off to give the Spanish youngsters the European Title which was last won back in 1998. From here congratulations to all the boys as Spain has a its Football future assured with some excellent players coming up & through the ranks.

SPANISH SPORTS | DUTCH MOTO GP | GOOD DAY FOR SPANISH RIDERS

Great day for SPANISH SPORTS in MOTOGP held in Assen (Dutch Gran Prix) with domination in two of the three categories. In the 125cc category the top three places were Spanish, in the Moto2 category a Spaniard won & in the Gp category Spanish World Champion Jorge Lorenzo finished 6th after Italian Simoncelli did one of his party tricks & took Lorenzo ( & himself ) out in the 5th curve after starting, but more later.

Maverick Viñales

Young Spanish talent MAVERICK VIÑALES won the 125cc category with second & third going to fellow country riders Salom & Gadea respectively. Maverick is proving to be the rookie of the year so far & looks destined towards bigger & better things. Current leader in the World Championships ladder, Spaniard Nicol Terol, did not race due to a fractured finger after falling yesterday in practice.

What made this race the more exciting was the wet conditions & to watch how young Maverick "mastered" the difficult conditions.

125cc final placing:
.1. Maverick Viñales (SP/Aprilia)
.2. Luis Salom (SP/Aprilia)
.3. Sergio Gadea (SP/Aprilia)

Simoncelli falls & takes Lorenzo

American rider B.Spies put in a magnificent race to win ahead of Casey Stoner & Italian Dovizioso in the GP category. However, the talking point & controversy occurred at the start & on the 5th curve when Italian Simoncelli did a dangerous & unnecessary manoeuvre to fall & take with him Spanish World Champion JORGE LORENZO.

Both got back on their bikes & Lorenzo put in a brave effort to come in 6th & thus lessen the damage for the World Champions points table, but the damage was done. Italian rider Simoncelli again is in the spot light with another exhibition of "careless" & "dangerous" riding which remembers his last incident with Dani Pederosa whom broke his collar bone.

1. B. Spies (USA/Yamaha YZR M 1)
2. C. Stoner (AUS/Honda RC 212 V)

EURO U-21 2011 FINAL | SPAIN U-21 STARTING 11 - TEAM PHOTO

The SPANISH U-21 FOOTBALL TEAM plays the Final of the European U-21 Championships tomorrow against the strong Switzerland Team. An important moment for theses young players who have already secured a ticket for the 2012 London Olympics & will attempt to follow in the steps of the A-Team, the current FIFA World Champions. There are two players from the World Championship team, Captain Javi Martinez & forward Juan Mata, who are steering the side with their experience & playing a fundamental role.

Spanish Football
Spain U-21 Team

Spanish Coach Luis Milla has rehearsed with the following 11 players tonight in the final training session before Saturdays Final, they are:

De Gea; Montoya, Botía, Domínguez, Dídac; Javi Martínez; Mata, Ander Herrera, Thiago, Muniain; & Adrian

Everything indicates that this will be the starting 11 for the Final.

From here we wish the boys all the luck in the World, & may the better team win, hoping of course the better team will be Spain.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS HAS NOT FORGOTTEN DIEGO FORLAN

DIEGO FORLAN would not mind staying at ATLETICO DE MADRID another season, especially after Coach Quique Sanchez Flores has disappeared from the Club. However Atletico de Madrid thinks differently & wishes to take the opportunity & get into their bank account some desperately needed fresh funds. The Club already agreed to sell Forlan to Turkish Club Galatasaray, but Forlan gave a NO which has put a "torpedo" in that operation.

Spanish Sports
Diego Forlan

Today the news in from Spanish Sports paper "AS" is that English Premier League Club TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS has come back in the picture & is negotiating with Atletico de Madrid for the transfer of the Uruguayan striker. The speculated offfer is around 10M€ which is not too bad & a figure that Atletico would likely see as acceptable. The feeling is that Forlan would perfer English Football ( played with Manchester United in the past ) to Turkish Football if he did decide to leave Spanish Football.

Stay tuned!

MALAGA FC SIGNS JOAQUIN FROM VALENCIA CF

SPANISH FOOTBALL Club MALAGA CF is building a strong team for next season as its Arab owner pours in the "petrol-dollars" to lift the level of his Club in order to compete for European positions. SPAIN 3 - BELARUS 1 | SPAIN INTO EURO U-21 FINAL - 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES

The SPANISH FOOTBALL U-21 NATIONAL TEAM defeated BELARUS 3 - 1 in the semi - final of the U-21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS in Denmerk to get a place in Saturday´s Final & more importantly, secure a ticket to the 2012 London Olympic Games.

It was´nt all easy as Spain equalized in the very last minute to force extra-time, there was a long moment during the match that seemed as if Spain had missed the boat even though they controlled the game. The Spaniards dominated the encounter but were not able to penetrate the disciplined Belarus defence. Then in a side-line throw-in Belarus managed a "freak" overhead kick via VORONKOV in the 38th min that found the net.

Spanish Football
Adrian scores for Spain

From this moment onwards Spain went all out to attack & attempt to find the needed equalizer,  & as time ran & the finish got closer the nerves & anxiety took over the Spaniards. Spanish Coach Milla put on forwards Capel, Jeffren & Bojan in a last ditch attempt to avoid disaster. Then the miracle came in the 89th min when Capel found the head of ADRIAN who equalized & forced the extra-time.

From here, Spain took control & ADRIAN scored again in the 105th min to take his persoanl Championships tally to 5 goals to make him the leading goal scorer, followed by a pile-driver from JEFFREN to seal the match in the 113th min, seal a final place & the Olympic Games place.

Spain now goes into the Final next Saturday. A great match for Spain & a great performance,  but it was close, real close!

SPANISH FOOTBALL TRANSFER NEWS - RUMOURS BRIEFS

SPANISH FOOTBALL is immense theses days with signing possibilities, transfer rumours & all sorts of gossip coming from Italy, France, the UK, Brazil, Argentina & of course, the Spanish Sports papers. With all this happening, I thought I give readers a quick summary of things being published today. This way you get a "snap shot" of how things are being reported in Spain.

Real Madrid 2011
Brazilian player NEYMAR

Latest is that REAL MADRID is very close in securing the services of 19 year old Brazialian "wonder kid" NEYMAR. According to Spanish Sports paper "Marca", Real Madrid & Neymar have agreement which has been published to be a six year contract at 5M€ per season, plus another million€ if he wins the "Golden Ball". SANTOS asks for 45M€ to allow the transfer to happen which is steep,  & may well be negotiated further as the player insists that Real Madrid is his chosen Club.

Spanish football
Alexis Sanchez

The almost certain signing of UDINESE 23 year old Chilean International forward ALEXIS SANCHEZ by Barça has hit a couple of problems. Firstly, FC Barcelona & Spanish U-21 International player JEFFRAN has said NO to Udinese & does not wish to be part of the FC BARCELONA offer of 28M€ + a player offer to the Italian Club for Sanchez. Secondly, MANCHESTER CITY has re-entered the picture to offered 40M€ which eclipses the Barça offer.

Latest is that Sanchez is giving Udinese an ultimatum: FC Barcelona or nowhere.

Spanish Soccer
FC Barcelona player Bojan

Italian Club AC ROMA has "come" to an agreement with FC BARCELONA player BOJAN. There is still some "fine print" to be discussed but new Roma Coach Luis Enrique ( ex Barcelona B Coach & player ) seems to have convinced the player that he will be playing more in Italy than staying at Barcelona. The speculated transfer price is 10M€ & a five year contract, although Barça have not confirmed anything & maybe attempting to get more than the 10M€ offered.

Lastly, ATLETICO DE MADRID midfielder JOSE ANTONIO REYES has said NO to Turkish Club GALATASARAY ( for now).

Hope this gives you a quick picture. Stay tuned as things change rapidly!

REAL MADRID HAS LENS DEFENDER RAPHAEL VARANE AWAITING PLAYERS OK

According to articles published today on SPANISH FOOTBALL & SPORTS press REAL MADRID is a "stones throw" away in signing LENS French defender & young 18 year old sensation RAPHAEL VARANE. Real Madrid is simply awaiting that the players family approve the players move to Spain.

Spanish football 2011
Raphael Varane

Here is the run down. French Club Lens has been relegated this season to the French 2º Division. According to French Football Federation rules, Lens which is financially in a tight situation needs to satisfy certain financial guarantees in order to play next season. In the French Clubs budget forecasts to hand into the Fottball authorities, 10M€ is already pencilled in as income for Lens from the sale of their young star Varane to Real Madrid. In fact, the Spanish Football Club has already placed the necessary financial guarantees in the Lens bank account to concur with their budget forecast projections.

The player comes recommended to Real Madrid by advisor to the Club President & first team liason  with players, the legendary Zinedine Zidane. The only possible obstacle that exists is the players mother, who prefers that her son of only 18 years stay in France & play at Paris St Germain were Varane has an offer.

Stay tuned!

Kaka

The possibility of Kaka leaving Real Madrid has been sounding for sometime, although the player himself insists that he ain´t going nowhere. The selling of Real Madrid of Kaka could help finance the desired signings of Real of Coentrao, Neymar & / or Sergio Aguero.

The idea of the possibility - even remote - of Kaka arriving at Inter Milan has revolutionized the AC Milan fan base & Club Directives. Stay tuned to this story as the summer is long & as Football has shown us every year around this time, anything can happen even if denied.

UKRAINE 0 SPAIN 3 | SPAIN GOES INTO THE U - 21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

SPAIN defeated the UKRAINE 0 - 3 in an excellent match to go into the semi final stage of the U - 21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS being held in Denmark. The presence of the SPANISH U-21 FOOTBALL TEAM is not as yet assured for a place in the 2012 London Olympic Games as only the Top 3 of this competition win the ticket. Spain must defeat Belarus in the semi-finales to win a place into the final & in doing so assure a top 3 finishing position for London.

Great first half by Spain with the team really exploiting & getting value from the experience & skills of the Spain FIFA World Champions team members Javi Martinez & JUAN MATA. The latter scored two goals ( 10th min & 72th min penalty) to secure things for the team, while Martinez is a solid rock in midfield alongside Barça player Thiago who pours on the magic. The first half also saw ADRIAN score his third for the Championship in the 27th min.

The second half saw Spain relax a bit & even saw Ukraine win a penalty, but Atletico de Madrid goalkeeper DAVID DE GEA stopped it to keep the Spanish scoresheet clean.

Here are line-ups & more details:

ATLETICO DE MADRID | UJFALUSI GOES TO GALATASARAY

Three days ago the story from Turkish media was that Tukish Club GALATASARAY was in Madrid making a 3 player offer to ATLETICO DE MADRID. The three players sort by the Turks were defender Tomas Ujfalusi, midfielder Reyes & Forward Reyes.

News just in from the Galatasaray website & Spanish Sports media  is that Tomas Ujfalusi has accepted the Turkish offer & is currently in the city of Istambul to undergo the obligatory medical exam to later sign. The speculated transfer fee is said to be about 2M€ as both Clubs continue "fine tuning" details tonight being a "shut case" in hours.

Ujfalusi is the first of a long string of speculated players that will be part of an exodus for Atletico de Madrid. The other two mentioned players & wished by Galatasaray have expressed "negative" replies. Atletico de Madrid does not wish to sell Reyes (for now) & Forlan has declined the offer from Uruguay (for now).

From here, thanks to Tomás Ujfalusi for his great service to Atletico. I wish him all the luck  for his two signed years at Galatasaray.

GRANADA JOINS REAL BETIS - RAYO VALLECANO IN THE SPANISH FIRST DIVISION NEXT SEASON

SPANISH FOOTBALL has "officially" finished for season 2010 - 2011 with the final match of  the 2º Division promotion games decided tonight & awarding the final third promotion place to Granada, along with already promoted Real Betis & Rayo Vallecano, to the Spanish League - La Liga.

The 1º leg finished GRANADA 0 - ELCHE 0 & tonight the 2º leg final result finished in a controversial ELCHE 1 - GRANADA 1, which puts GRANADA into the Spanish 1º Division League for next season due to the away goal advantage.

Ighalo scores for Granada

Granada got ahead via IGHALO with a fabulous goal in the 21st min that set the visitors on course. The game  was tense & very tough as both sides were playing for a final Spanish First Division place. Then in the 37th min Elche player Pelegrin had his equalizing goal disallowed for off-side. The below image contradicts the decision as Pelegrini who made the header was clearly on-side. This "decision" was to be a determining factor later in the match.

Spanish Football
Elche goal disallowed for "off-side"

The match continued in a see-saw fashion with Elche desperate to gain back the advantage & attempt to turn things around. They managed the equalizer in the 80th min via XUMENTRA that lifted hopes for the home team as they were on a roll. However, Granada held on with tooth & nails & managed to keep out Elche to see the match finish in a draw & see how their away goal gave them a Spanish First Division birth for next season. Elche obviously remembered the first half disallowed goal & were naturally devasted after the final whistle.

Granada join Real Betis & Rayo Vallecano as new LIGA Clubs for season 2010 - 2011.

BOJAN KRKIC | ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME

BOJAN KRKIC current player of FC BARCELONA & member of the U-21 SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM was predicted a few years back as the next wonder kid of Spanish Football. One remembers back in 2008, with the player a "tender" 17 years of age, almost going to the Euro 2008 Championships as part of the Spain Football Team, had not the player himself announce he was not ready for the challenge. Was this an omen for the coming years? Spain won the European Title that year & Bojan carreer slowly but steadily began taking a downward curve path.

Spanish Football Sports
FC Barcelona player Bojan

Since then Bojan has been literally fighting to get a regular place in the FC Barcelona team. His position is very competitive & he has to "overcome" the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho & Eto´o ( in their day), Messi, David Villa, Afellay & Pedro. This last player, Pedro, has "steamrolled" pass Bojan in proyection & is already a World Champion. This last season, Bojan has played very little for FC Barcelona & to really make things "hurt", the player is a substitute for the Spanish U-21 National Team competing in the U-21 European Championship in Denmark.

Granted the there are "big" stars blocking Bojan at Barcelona & granted that injuries have also played a negative role in his evolution, it is time, I believe, to create ones own future. Simply said another way, Bojan Krkic career path at Barcelona is smashing into a wall, this is breaking & halting the players progression & confidence.

News from Spanish Sports paper "Sport" publish comments that Italian Club AC ROMA is willing to sign young Bojan, is willing to give 10M€ to Barça in fees & allow a Barça buy- back clause. The Italian team has Luis Enrique, ex FC Barcelona B Coach & ex FC Barcelona player , as new Coach & he knows perfectly well the abilities & natural talents of 20 year old Bojan Krkic.

I would take this option if I was Bojan, but I am not, the player must decide his future. The player is at an important crossroad of his Football career, were there are many decisions to make & take. One of those roads has a certainty, with FC Barcelona looking for another "World Class" forward ( Alexis Sanchez & Rossi are current options) securing a place looks almost impossible. What the player needs is playing time, regular every week playing time. He needs to feel part of a team, score goals & feel important, thus regain his confidence & his inbuilt natural talent. I think its clear what the player needs to do, fly out of the Barça nest to become a mature Football Player, & perhaps, return as a star.

SPANISH FOOTBALL BARGAIN BASEMENT PLAYERS

Spanish Football Sports magazine "Don Balon" have published a long & impressive list of Spanish League Football Players who end contract on the 30th of June & are free to go to any Club they desire while the Club accepts them, all for FREE, that is, zero transfer fees.
