Excellent night for the SPANISH U-21 NATIONAL TEAM & in particular for foward RODRIGO who managed a bag full of goals. SPAIN defeated DENMARK 5 - 0 in the play off elimination qualifier home match for the upcoming European Championships Finals in Israel

Spanish forward RODRIGO scored a HAT-TRICK with four goals, in the 14th - 17th - 20th & 66th min, with Malaga player ISCO scoring the fifth in the 79th min. A game totally dominated by Spain that cancelled out the Danes & when they were dangerous Spanish goalie De Gea made important saves. 

Spain now goes into the upcoming away match with 100% security & with great chances of qualifying for Isreal.

EURO - U21 QUALIFIER | SPAIN 6 ESTONIA 0

The SPANISH FOOTBALL U-21 NATIONAL TEAM hosted ESTONIA tonight for a EURO U-21 classification match. The current European Champions defeated their guests 6 - 0 in a one way affair that gave Benfica forward RODRIGO a HAT-TRICK ( 4th , 7th & 45th min). The other goal scorers were ISCO in he 59th min, ALVARO VAZQUEZ in in the 90th min & SARABIA in extra time. Not much to add except reiterate the Spanish dominance.

UEFA INCLUDES 7 SPANISH FOOTBALL U-21 TEAM PLAYERS IN ALL-STAR LIST

More awards for SPANISH FOOTBALL via UEFA that has announced its ALL STAR European U-21 SQUAD which has been chosen by a team of eight "technical" experts. In reference to the SPAIN U-21 NATIONAL TEAM that won the Euro U-21 Championship held in Denmark, seven players have been chosen. The runners up,  Switzerland has five players in the list of 23 that includes players from all the participating countries.

SPAIN WINS 0 - 2 CZECH REP TO KEEP ON TRACK IN THE U-21 EURO CHAMPIONSHIPS

The SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL U-21 TEAM has won its vitally important second Group match 0 - 2 against the CZECH REPUBLIC to keep on course & attempt to get into the semis  of the EUROPEAN U - 21 CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Spanish Football team managed to rectify its errors from the surprising 1 -1 game against England to play a comfortable match this afternoon & win back confidence.

The damage was basically done in the 27th & 47th min thanks to ADRIAN who managed to finish off two great midfield passes to score both the important goals. The Czech Rep had some moments but Spanish & still Atletico de Madrid goalie David De Gea managed to push aside all the danger.

EURO U - 21 CHAMPIONSHIP | SPAIN 1 ENGLAND 1 | SPAIN STARTS COLD

SPAIN started its EUROPEAN U-21 CHAMPIONSHIPS campaign cold & not "greased" with a 1 - 1 draw against ENGLAND. A disappointing result that saw the SPANISH FOOTBALL NATIONAL U-21 TEAM touch the ball well all match, but lacked depth & was without any  goal instinct upfront. The Spaniards need a goal area "killer" to finish their build ups & plays off & tonight no one was there to do the job. A missing element in the machine that made Spain play dearly in the end.

Ander Herrera "goal"

The goal for Spain came in the 27th min from a set piece that saw Captain Javi Martinez header into the path of ANDER HERRERA who scored. The goal was given under controversial circumstances as it looked as if Herrera knocked the ball in with his hand. The image certainly gives rise to the doubt as it seems that it was indeed a handball.

From here on, England made timid signs of danger, but it was Spain that dominated with the ball. This featured was carried through most of the second half until England counter-attacked & caught off guard the Spanish defence late in the game. English player WALBECK found himself in front of Spanish goalie De Gea in the 87th min & scored the equalizer to pour a "bucket of cold water" over the Spaniards. Some claimed the goal was given when England was off-side, but given that Spain got ahead in a doubtful fashion,  justice was perhaps done.

Spain watched till the end how they let slip through their fingers the victory which now "complicates" somewhat the rest of the group for them as they MUST win the Czech Rep next Wednesday in their next group match. Spain will go into that game with pressure & nerves & that always makes the outcome difficult to predict.

Earlier, the Czech Rep defeated the Ukraine 2 - 1 to now lead the group in Top postion.

U/21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER: SPAIN 3 - LIECHTENSTEIN 1

The Spanish U/21 National Team Coach & Selector Lopez Caro, was questioned last week to explain what reasons lead him not to call up youngsters like Bojan, Sergio Canales & Domínguez, all regular “Liga” players with their respective teams, to the National squad. The replies were not convincing (form) & to be honest very vague; who really knows why he left out three of Spain’s current young talents.

Tonight all three were remembered & came to haunt Lopez Caro after his team barely defeated the last placed group team LIECHTENSTEIN 3-1, in a terrible & almost embarrassing match were the home team was lucky to get away with this “distorted” result that doesn´t reflect the match at all.

The situation was so “critical” that Spain had in serious danger its qualification for the U/21 European Championships at one point when the visitors equalized 1-1 in the 57th min. Luckily, Coach Lopez Caro reacted & brought on Fran Mérida y Adrián López (why weren’t they in the starting line-up?) to remedy the situation a steer the team towards a 2ºnd goal & calmness reigned thankfully at the end when Diego Capel converted a penalty.

With this win Spain has 12 points & remains 2º placed behind Holland ( 15 points) in Group 4. Remember only the first placed go directly through to the European Finals , with the Best 4º second placed teams from the 10 groups going into a play-off.

U-21 EURO GROUP QUALIFIER: HOLLAND 2 - SPAIN 1

The Spanish U-21 National Football Team suffered a set back in its
objective of taking the top table spot, & thus the direct qualification
for the European U-21 Championships of 2011, when they lost 2-1 to
Holland in their Group 4 match at Rotterdam.

The Dutch played well & did what they had to do in a satisfactory
manner; however Spain was extremely unlucky as they hit the Dutch
goal post 4 times during the game. Spain will now have to ensure
maximum concentration & win their following games as the U-21
Euro & London Olympics participation are both under the threat of
being missed out on.

EUROPEAN U-21 GROUP CLASSIFICATION: SPAIN 1 - FINLAND 0

The Spanish U-21 National Team managed a hard earned & important
1-0 victory over a very defensive Finland side in their Group
classification match. The Finns played a hard game which made
Spain’s ball control strategy & game difficult in finding the end
objective which only came in the 72nd minute when MICHEL
scored the winner.

Spain now looks forward to its game against Holland who share the
top spot in the Group as both teams battle for the direct ticket to
the 2011 European Championships in Denmark & to secure a place
in the 2012 London Olympic games.

EURO U/21 GROUP 5 QUALIFIER: SPAIN 2 - POLAND 0

SPAIN has defeated POLAND 2-0 at home (Oviedo) in its Group 5
qualifying match for the next U-21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Finals scheduled for 2011 in Denmark.

Spain has reshaped its team after its disappointing performance in
last June’s Euro Finals in Sweden. With the inclusion of new players
like Parejo & Joselu Mato, Spain went out to attack from the first
moment with a Polish team waiting in its area for opportunities to
arise & thus attempt to surprise with counter-attacks. That
conservatism was punished early when MATO scored for Spain in
the 7th min & Spain could have gone further in the 12th min have
the Polish goalkeeper not stopped Parejo.

The Spanish side sentenced the game in the 2ºhalf when they went
two goals ahead when PAREJO scored in the 58th min with his header.
Sevilla FC winger David Capel deserves a mention as he set up the
first goal & drove the Polish defence crazy all the game & Spanish
goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo who stopped all the dangers when the
Polish team attacked the most to try to close the goal deficit. However,
with the latter the Spanish & Atletico de Madrid goalie was injured
towards the latter part of the game.

Conclusion: Good win for Spain who start well & will play next
Monday against Liechtenstein.

EUROPEAN U-21 CHAMPIONSHIP 2009: SPAIN SAYS GOODBYE WITH A VICTORY

The Spanish U-21 National Team said goodbye to the EUROPEAN
U-21 CHAMPIONSHIPS with a 2-0 victory over FINLAND. The only
“miracle” possible for Spain to continue was in the hands of England
with a victory over Germany; however their game finished in a 1-1
draw. Therefore Group B has England & Germany that go onto the
next stage, while Spain packs its bags as third in what has been a
for them a disappointing tournament with rumoured "frictions"
between players & Coach Caro.









The Spanish goals came from TORREJON in the 22nd min & from
PEDRO LEON in the 55th min, with the latter possibly being the
best player on the field for this game.

In the other Group (A) Italy & Sweden, the host nation, move on

EUROPEAN U-21 CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009: SPAIN 0 ENGLAND 2

The SPANISH U-21 NATIONAL TEAM went down tonight 0-2 to
ENGLAND in its Group B match. This “virtually” puts the Spaniards
out of the EUROPEAN U-21 Finals being held in Sweden. The
ONLY chance left is if Spain goals Finland in its last Group game
& England defeats Germany in its match.

Spain was nervous & put up a conservative set up that lacked any
action along the wings. Once again Spain’s goalkeeper Asenjo kept
his side in the running until England players CAMPBELL & MILNER
scored twice to knock the wind out of the Spaniards. English player
Walcott was decisive tonight coming on in the 62nd min to beef up
the English attack with his pace.

The SPANISH U-21 National Team kicked off its participation in the
U-21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS,being held in Sweden against
GERMANY, with the result ending in a 0-0 draw.

One can simply describe the game for Spain by saying that their best
player was Asenjo, who is the goalkeeper. It was a “miracle” that
Spain managed to go away from this game with a point as Germany
was way more superior & the better team. The Spaniards put up its
game of touch ball while the Germans played with their physical
advantage, a strategy that nearly paid off had it not been for the
Spanish goalkeeper.

Now it´s time for Spain to reflect & allow the opening game nerves
to disappear & face their next match to ensure they can secure the
next three points.

U/21 FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL 2009: SPAIN 0 - SWEDEN 0

Swedish goalkeeper stopped everything that SPAIN was able to fire to allow
his side SWEDEN finish with a 0-0 draw in the U/21 Friendly International.
Added to this Spain hit the bar three times which made it a frustrating day
overall for the young Spaniards.

U/21 FRIENDLY: SPAIN 1 - IRELAND 2

The Spanish U/21 National team were defeated yesterday night 1-2 by Ireland
in a friendly preparation International match before the September Euro 2011
qualifiers. The Spanish Coach Lopez Caro put on a totally new & experimental
side to test out the upcoming youngsters before settling for his final squad
for next Septembers official qualifiers.

The novelty & the lack of playing between the new members showed as two
woeful defensive errors (first goalie Miño & second a defensive mishap)
allowed Ireland to capitalise & transform their two goals. Spain dominated
the ball & were not given a hand ball in the area which was a penalty,
& managed to pull one but via IVAN BOLADO.

However, Ireland played smarter & knew how to defend its two goal lead, while
the anxiety to score by Spain affected their efficiency & eventually their ability
to equalize. Let’s hope the “A” TEAM tonight against TURKEY in its World
Cup 2010 qualifier have more luck & do better.

Most folk know who this youngster is, it´s BOJAN KRKIC who plays
for FC BARCELONA & is a Spanish International. Pretty famous bloke
that gets stopped in the street for photos & autographs.

There is a belief that every person has a "double" somewhere on Earth.
For Bojan that person is CRISTIAN PINEDA a 18 year old from Spanish

First game was an U/19 clash between ENGLAND & SPAIN which
saw the latter pull in a great match with a 0-3 victory

U/21 EURO CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER: SWITZERLAND 2 - SPAIN 1

The Swiss & Spanish U/21 teams are battling to qualify for the next
qualifying phase of the U/21 Euro Championships to be held in Sweden
next year. The first act - the away game - has ended with
Switzerland defeating Spain 2-1. Spain was out played & out smarted
by the Swiss that frustrated & blocked the Spanish game all night.

Now it´s all down to the return game were Spain must turn around the
result & win. They have the advantage of playing at home & should
( although never certain) secure the stage.

SPANISH U/21 SQUAD - DEFEATS RUSSIA 2-1

The Spanish U/21 National Side has defeated Russia tonight
2-1 to consolidate its Group leadership & guarantee its presence in
next years U/21 European Championship. The Spanish team had to
make some important changes as 4 regular players were out serving
suspensions, but that did´nt stop Spain exercising their domination
which was clear in the 2ºhalf of the game.














The 1º half was Spain vs the Russian Wall, & it was´nt until the
2º half that Spain managed to "open the can"with a penalty in
which MATA converted ( pictured) & later the 2ºgoal via
PIQUE.

SPANISH U-21 SQUAD. PRESENCE IN EURO CHAMPIONSHIP 2009 SECURE

The Spanish U/21 national team has defeated Kazajistan 1-2 to
virtually secure its place for the 2009 U/21 Euro Championships
to be held next June in Sweden.
























Spain dominanted the 1ºhalf, period in which Spain scored to lead via
GRANERO in the 25th min. However , Kazajistan drew via
KEMBAEV in the 56th min & nerves settled into the young Spanish,
who managed to get itself back on track to pressure the opposition
goal with the reward coming in the 85 min with an own goal & the
winner for Spain thanks to Sabalakov - unlucky.

Good win for Spain against an awkward side & at a complicated field.
