ATLETICO DE MADRID TARGETING SEMIH KAYA OF GALATASARAY?
From Spanish Sports daily "Marca" comes the news that Atletico de Madrid is close to reaching an agreement with Turkish Football Club Galatasaray for their central defender Semih Kaya, news apparently also backed by Turkish television NTV. According to NTV, Atletico de Madrid owner Miguel Angel Gil was recently in Istanbul & meet with representatives of Kaya & Galatasaray. Does this indicate that Atletico de Madrid is covering their back in case one of their current central defender leave next season?

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL RESULTS | REAL SOCIEDAD - REAL MADRID GAMES
UEFA Champions League Group matches continued tonight with Spanish Football Clubs Real Sociadad & Real Madrid with their respective matches. Bad news away in the Ukraine for Real Sociedad & good news for Real Madrid with their home duty. Here is a brief summary of events, the final results-scores & all the goalscorers.
Ukrainian Club Shakhtar Donetsk won 4 - 0 Real Sociedad in their Group A match. The home team managed to grab second place - for now - of the Group & get ahead by 1 point over German Club Leverkusen. Sadly the loss by Real Sociedad puts them last on the Group table which eliminates them from the next rounds of Champions League & unfortunately also does not make the Spanish Club eligible for the Europa League competition.
Too many mistakes by the Real Sociedad defence allowing Shakhtar to score relatively easy goals, plus Shakhtar player Douglas exploded mid second half to put on his magic & sink further a demoralized Real Sociedad as they saw their European dream fade out. The goals came in the following manner:
Real Madrid hosted fellow Group B Club Galatasaray with the Turks needing a win to keep firm their Champions League hopes. However the final result was a 4 - 1 victory to Real Madrid who ran over Galatasaray in the 2º half with only 10 men as Sergio Ramos saw a red card mid 1ºst half. Galatasaray are third with 4 points with Juventus second with 6 points, & both will meet in the last Group game where only a victory will suffice for Galatasaray. Real Madrid guarantees the top spot of Group B with 4 victories & 1 draw & currently 13 points.
Real Madrid was without Cristiano Ronaldo & this allowed young Jese a run, but that was short lived when Ramos was sent off leaving his team with 10 men. Jese was sacrificed for another youngster defender Nacho.
The game started with Bale missing a "sitter" in the 3rd min which he later made up with a screamer free-kick goal in the 37th min to open things up for the Spanish Club. However, Galatasaray answered immediately after Drogba superbly found Bulut who equalized in the 40th min. Things looked equal at this point with Real Madrid still finding themselves in a disadvantage but the Turks "strangely" disappeared thereafter. They nearly redeemed themselves in the 2º half but Casillas made a huge save from a Drogba header.
The second half saw Di Maria, Isco, Bale, Illara & Xabi Alonso ( on for Casemiro ) all lift in their game with a special mention to defender Arbeloa who "starred" & was pivotal. Alvaro Arbeloa scored the second goal in the 51st min, missed a close one soon after & then set up the third for Di Maria in the 62nd min. The last goal was an Isco "gem" with some class individual dribbling ( plus some luck ) that culminated in his goal & the Real Madrid 4th in the 81st min.
It was an amazing finish from a team down 10 men & surprising to watch the ineffectiveness of Galatasaray under such circumstances. The Turks now play Juventus for the prized second place of Group B were only a victory serves Galatasaray while the Italians have margin to at least go through with a draw.

GALATASARAY 1 REAL MADRID 6 | REAL SOCIEDAD 0 SHAKHTAR D 2 | UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP MATCH RESULTS
The long awaited UEFA Champion League season kicked off tonight with two Spanish Football Clubs represented for Group game duties. Real Sociedad hosted at home Ukrainian Club Shaktar D in Group A, while Real Madrid travelled to Turkey to play Galatasaray in their Group B obligations.
Here is a brief summary of the main events, with all the final results-scores plus the goalscorers.
Turkish Club Galatasaray lost 1 - 6 to Real Madrid. An "unreal" & distorting scoreline because Galatasaray were severally punished in a night were they deserved more reward. The Turks started very well with maximum pressure on all fronts that put the Spaniards on the back foot most of the first half. In fact, I would say that the first half was mostly Galatasaray & what let them down was their lack of ability of converting their numerous opportunities in front of goal. Part of the lack of effectiveness was thanks to Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas who started & made a fabulous save from a Felipe Melo shot early in the 6th min. The bad news for Casillas was that he injured himself in the 1st min when he clashed with team-mate Sergio Ramos defending a ball. Casillas was substituted for Diego Lopez who in turn later made his own brilliant saves to keep out the Turks & Real Madrid alive.
In the only real chance for Real Madrid, a Di Maria long pass found Isco who magically control the ball, lost his opponent & scored the first in the 33rd min. This action was to precisely illustrate the story for the rest of the match: Galatasaray failed to convert their chances, while Real Madrid nailed theirs.
Luck then went against Galatasaray when Pepe & Drogba clashed for a ball & the latter fell badly on his shoulder which forced him to be substituted & this changed around the team set-up & tactics which was to be paid dearly later in the second half.
The second half saw Galatasaray push hard to find an equalizer, but once again a single piece of individual magic in the Real Madrid midfield found Benzema alone who sprinted in the 54th min to score the second. From here the "wind was pushed out" of the Turks & Cristiano Ronaldo began his personal show of goals & assistances.
The Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo got the third for Real Madrid in the 63rd min, a his second & teams fourth in the 67th min, an assistance later to allow Benzema to score his second & teams fifth in the 81st min & lastly his HAT-TRICK in the 90th min & Real Madrid sixth goal.
Galatasaray rightly got a consolation goal when Bulut tipped a pass into the net in the 84th min.
Final result 1 - 6 with Real Madrid getting the three points, top spot of Group B. Great game from Di Maria, excellent Ronaldo as expected, very nice work from Modric, Benzema worked hard & Gareth Bale looked good when he came on mid second half as he assisted with his pass a Ronaldo goal & tried his luck as well during the time he was on.
Different outcome at San Sebastian where Real Sociedad hosted Shakhtar Donetsk & lost 0 - 2 in their Group A match. The Spaniards played well the first half creating chances, but the Ukrainians were physically stronger & waited for their chances to arrive.
Real Sociedad lessened in their intensity & ball control as the match advanced & Shakhtar pounced when given half the chance mid second half when Teixeira scored in the 65th min & then again in the 87th min.
The Spaniards claimed a penalty in this game but the truth is they were fairly defeated by a more stronger, patient & experienced Champions League team.

Spanish Football Club Real Madrid commences its long road to attempt to win what is their obsession, the UEFA Champions League title, in this case their 10th. Tonight they will be hosted by the very difficult Turkish team Galatasaray which will not make it easy for the Spaniards.

In the Real Madrid case, there are some important missing players & the defensive set up has shown to be vulnerable. beforehand that Sergio Ramos & Xabi Alonso will not be present due to
yellow card accumulation suspension. Plus the defender expected to fill the place of
vacant Ramos, Pepe, is doubtful as he had to retire from training with a leg
muscle complaint. The latest news is that Pepe is almost ruled out barring an
almost miraculous recovery in the following hours.
With these
fixed elements eliminated from the equation one can speculate a possible
starting 11 line- up (team) for Real Madrid. My bet are the following players:
Diego Lopez, Essien, Varane, Abiol, Coentrao, Modric, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Cristiano Ronaldo & Benzema ( Higuain).

Current 29 year old REAL MADRID player HAMIT ALTINTOP has commented to Turkish press that next season he will playing with GALATASARAY , although it is not official between Clubs. This obviously indicates that the Turkish International will be one of the first to move out & leave the Spanish Football Club.
The player came to Real Madrid last season free of transfer from Bayern Munich & although with lots of promise, he has had a personal "horror season". Altintop has struggled with annoying injuries & has not found a regular spot in the current Real Madrid playing squad. His official matches have been a handfull & when he did manage a full match ( eg Clasico vs Barça ) his performance was criticised.
Without playing opportunities the best option for the player was to find his chance elsewhere & that palce will be apparently in Turkish Football.

GALATASARAY GOING FOR ATLETICO DE MADRID PLAYER REYES
Turkish Club GALATASARAY attempted to sign ATLETICO DE MADRID player JOSE ANTONIO REYES at the start of the season, but the player rejected the offer. Now with a head to head clash with Coach Manzano, where the player is being punished for "inadequate behaviour ( insults at Coach)" with prolonged sitting on the bench, Reyes is apparently open to ideas.
The news is coming out of Turkey, concretely the paper "Ayrinti", which has been picked up locally by Spanish Sports paper "As", that there is a new & firm offer from Galatasaray for this upcoming "Winter Transfer Market".
The offer is said to be for 3 seasons at 3.5M€ per year. The paper goes on further to say that the Turkish Club has sold some of its Club shares in order to raise the money to sign Reyes, thus giving more evidence that this is very serious.
I suppose that the final word is now up to Reyes, as Atletico is´nt showing signs of halting the operation. Stay tuned!

REAL MADRID celebrated its "Santiago Bernabeu Trophy" tonight which showcases the team to their members & fan-base before the real business of the new season kicks off. The invited Club this year was Turkish team GALATASARAY which the home team defeated 2 -1.
Both teams used the occasion to give all their players a run & some extra playing time as both continue improving their squad form. Real Madrid started with almost a "B team" ( including Callejon, Varane, Kaká, Higuain, Di Maria & Adan) & were pushed in the early part by a very serious & intense Galatasaray. So intense was the Turkish start to the match that they opened the scoring in the 10th min via INAN.
However, from here Real Madrid progressively got better & slowly began taking control of the match. Real Madrid defender SERGIO RAMOS equalized in the 33 rd min & the whole team began connecting with their play.
The second half saw more chances for both teams with Real Madrid putting on some "big guns" & currently in form names: Benzema, Ozil , Ronaldo, Carvalho...etc, & it was BENZEMA who scored the second from a precision Xabi Alonso pass in the 49th min. News circulating in the SPANISH FOOTBALL press & media is that ATLETICO DE MADRID is very close to shutting the transfer deal of ARDA TURAN, midfielder for Turkish Club GALATASARAY. The Turkish Club ignited the news flash by posting on their website that they are negotiating at this moment with the Spanish Football Club.
This is a past option ( was first studied last March) that has been re-taken up as Atletico sees the DIEGO option ( Brazilian Wolfsburg player ) complicate itself & need to beef up their midfield with a "creative" player. This area is a long time "Achilles heel" of the Club & they believe that the Turkish International Turan will be able to fill the gap & do the job. The player has had offers from English Football but prefers LA LIGA, were Atletico is willing to pay around 13M€ to get the player for the new season.

ATLETICO DE MADRID | UJFALUSI GOES TO GALATASARAY
Three days ago the story from Turkish media was that Tukish Club GALATASARAY was in Madrid making a 3 player offer to ATLETICO DE MADRID. The three players sort by the Turks were defender Tomas Ujfalusi, midfielder Reyes & Forward Reyes.
News just in from the Galatasaray website & Spanish Sports media is that Tomas Ujfalusi has accepted the Turkish offer & is currently in the city of Istambul to undergo the obligatory medical exam to later sign. The speculated transfer fee is said to be about 2M€ as both Clubs continue "fine tuning" details tonight being a "shut case" in hours.
Ujfalusi is the first of a long string of speculated players that will be part of an exodus for Atletico de Madrid. The other two mentioned players & wished by Galatasaray have expressed "negative" replies. Atletico de Madrid does not wish to sell Reyes (for now) & Forlan has declined the offer from Uruguay (for now).
From here, thanks to Tomás Ujfalusi for his great service to Atletico. I wish him all the luck for his two signed years at Galatasaray.

TRANSFER RUMOUR | ATLETICO DE MADRID - GALATASARAY JOINT TURKISH BATH
This one is definately a good one. In mean you won´t see a more impacting & more viciously viral "Football Transfer Rumour" than this one for a long time.
From Turkey, via its media (eg NTVSPOR), Turkish Club GALATASARAY has come to an agreement with Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE MADRID to sign DIEGO FORLAN, UJFALUSI & ANTONIO REYES. The sum tranfer - all three players - money figure is unknown but the news is "fair-dinkum" as we can see from the below Turkish web site. Is it Turkish Fools day ? Obviously this "surprise" has been picked up locally by Spanish Press & quiet frankly I personally don´t know what to make of it.
According to the Turkish source Galatasaray Club President Unal Aysal meet today with Atletico de Madrid directives & "shut" the package deal. Now my first reaction is to wait & see if this has actually happened, & at best, if its true at all. No announcement has been made from the Spanish Football Club & no one has been informed here in the media of the money involved.
However, Football is Football & anything can happen, especially with a Club like Atletico de Madrid . If it does finally turn out to be all true & Forlan, Ujfalusi & Reyes do leave the Spanish Club, they will join the almost certain exit of goalkeeper David De Gea ( to Manchester United) & Sergio Aguero ( to ? ). Atletico de Madrid will look next season like the below image of a sinking ship.
My head says wait & see as you have seen many stories & heard many "vicious" rumours during many years. My heart, as an Atletico fan, says WTF is going on & frankly I am baffled with this story.

LATEST: Apparently there is some truth. Galatasaray has expressed to Atletico de Madrid today in Madrid via Turkish Club President their desires to sign all three players. The money figure is said to be around 40M€ & I imagen the players involved will have there say if the Club sees this as positive. Stay tuned!
VERY LATEST : Diego Forlan does wish to leave ( yet ) Atletico, & with Reyes the Spanish Club does not wish to let the palyer go.

ATLETICO DE MADRID NEGOTIATING WITH GALATASARAY FOR TURAN
News from Spanish Sports paper "AS" comments that Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE MADRID is negotiating with Turkish Club GALATASARAY for midfielder ARDA TURAN. Altletco is said to be also "testing the waters" to see if they can sell Diego Forlan while in Turkey doing business talking with Besiktas.
The market price for the Turkish player is speculated to be around 12.5M€, a price that makes one wonder who else Atletico will sell at the end of this season, although we may well all guess. With respect to Turan some "insiders" ask if it is wise to sign a player who has had a very ordinary season & has been hampered by injury. Stay tuned!
