CHELSEA FC CLOSE TO SIGNING CESC FABREGAS?

Spanish Football National Team midfielder & FC Barcelona player CESC FABREGAS is more out of Barça than in for next season. The speculation mounts as Football observers give more weight to the idea that Barça desires to sell their player. The rumours lifted this weekend when Cesc Fabregas was seen in London on his days of from the Spain Football Team leading media to speculate that perhaps he was negotiating with English Premier League Clubs.

FC BARCELONA transfer

The list of interested English Club is relatively long, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea FC & Arsenal FC. The last has been talked about in the last days with a possible return to the Club that gave him his "World fame".

However, in the last hours Arsenal FC seems to be pushed aside as Spanish Sports daily based in Barcelona, "Mundo Deportivo", publish that CHELSEA FC is close to signing the Spaniard for around 40M€. The paper goes on to publish that Cesc has decided to leave FC Barcelona as he does not see himself in next seasons make up of Barça under new Coach Luis Enrique & knows that the Club needs to sell him to sign other preferred players.

Nothing is official as yet, but it looks at this stage that Chelsea FC has the lead over the other Clubs. As always stay tuned as things could change rapidly in hours or over these coming days, one of the other mentioned Clubs ( Man Utd for example) could make a last moment counter-offer.

FC BARCELONA | CESC FABREGAS BACK TO ENGLAND?

The news coming out of the city of Barcelona is not new. According to Spanish Sports daily "Sport" English Premier League giant Manchester United is preparing a 45M€ offer for FC Barcelona & Spanish International midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

FC BARCELONA 2014

Most observers agree that the best years for Fabragas was with Arsenal FC & playing in English Football. The midfielder has not fully been accepted at FC Barcelona since his arrival being questioned more than praised. Manchester United is considering  hiring Van Gaal as new Coach for next season after a disastrous year where the squad had midfield limitations & may have been the main cause for not finishing in Champions League. Van Gaal apparently considers Cesc Fabregas a priority, along with Toni Kross ( Bayern Munich) & Marco Reus ( Dortmund ). However, ex Club, Arsenal FC is also beginning to sound as a possible future destination for next season.

The last word will be with Cesc Fabregas & the possible new Coach at FC Barcelona next season, as it is strongly rumoured the current Coach Gerardo Martino has his days counted. Stay tuned!

MANCHESTER UNITED THIRD OFFER FOR FC BARCELONA CESC FABREGAS

Third time lucky,  perhaps ? News out of England comment that Manchester United will put on the table of FC Barcelona a third offer for Spanish International midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The offers have been rising from 30M€ to 35M€ to a now & last 40M€ that would be a record for the English Club. The English Football giant considers Fabregas a priority for the new season & in their future plans & are going all out.

Spanish football 2013

Locally FC Barcelona has knocked back the two previous offers claiming that they count with the player & added to this,  new Coach Gerard Martino has voiced his wish to count with the midfielder. FC Barcelona previous Coach Tito Vilanova said Cesc expressed his desires to continue, while close friends & team-mates of Cesc Fabregas like Gerard Pique, Victor Valdes & Carles Pujol have voiced publicly that for what they know Cesc Fabregas is happy at Barça & wishes to stay. FC Barcelona as institution has gone further & asked the players agent the desires of his client & all seems to indicate that Cesc Fabregas wants to continue.

However, the player himself is not making comments. Fabregas has not affirmed or denied the Manchester United offer nor has he categorically expressed his wishes to stay at Barcelona. This has raised suspicion & even heighten speculation that there maybe more behind the scenes than want the public is receiving via what is being read.

Stay tuned for further developments. My initial thoughts are that Cesc Fabregas wants to stay at FC Barcelona, but I am not at all confident to say so 100 %. His silence on the matter maybe a signal,  or alternatively maybe giving "false hopes" back at England. Either way something has to give soon.

FC BARCELONA | CESC FABREGAS OFFERS - SIGNING RUMOURS

Lot of rumours flying around about FC Barcelona player Cesc Fabregas. The news coming out of the UK comments on offers from Arsenal FC & the last from Manchester United after a "failed" attempt for Thiago Alcantara.

The lastest is that Cesc Fabregas wants to stay at Barça & that FC Barcelona has said NO to the offers ( for now ). The player has not been all that happy at Barça since his arrival from Arsenal seasons back. The midfield has had "over-booking" & Cesc hasn't played all that he had wished. However, this season could be his season, as Xavi Hernandez will need to play in "dosage" as to keep under control his recurring injuries & decrease
 risks.

So, for now & for our International reader,  Cesc Fabregas ain´t going nowhere as speculated in the overseas press.

MANCHESTER UNITED EYES CESC FABREGAS

There is continuing news coming out of England & much more than is being generated locally. For weeks the name of FC Barcelona & Spanish International Cesc Fabregas has been sounding for a possible return to the English Premier League.

Latest rumour is that Manchester United is very interested & would be willing to put up a 45-47M€ offer on the Barça table to get the midfielder.

FC BARCELONA 2013

Cesc Fabregas on the other hand is not so keen to make a move out of Barcelona. The player wishes to stay at the Club & will have a talk with Coach Vilanova about his future after his obligations with Spain in the FIFA Confederations Cup.

However, since his arrival at Barça from Arsenal FC, Cesc has not been a regular piece in the Barça set-up, he has been questioned locally & by many fans which raises some doubt about his future. FC Barcelona has made an important investment with the signing of Brazilian Neymar & this has shook the Clubs bank account. The possibility of a 47M€ cash injection could be attractive enough for Barcelona to consider seriously a transfer.

The final decision is up to Cesc Fabregas, who is happy at Barcelona especially after being a Father this year & seems to want to lay solid roots locally. But, Football is Football & anything can happen. Stay tuned!

CESC FABREGAS | THE CALLS FROM MANCHESTER UNITED, MANCHESTER CITY & ARSENAL FC

Cesc Fabregas was an idol & the Captain at Arsenal FC. His move to FC Barcelona diluted his influence & role amongst a star-studded line-up of team-mates most of which are the "Best in the World" in their positions. He was warned beforehand of the possibility but the desire to return "home" was greater than the reality.

Without the playing time one would expect & without the important role imagined, Cesc Fabregas ( & FC Barcelona ) could be thinking in a move, a move back to English Football where the player knows best & is more "suited" to his style & play.

Soccer Spain Football

Although Cesc is too keen initially in a moving, there are three Clubs that could help with a return back to England. Manchester United is very keen to get the Spanish midfielder over to "Old Trafford" & has 29M€ to offer Barça. Manchester City under the soon to be new Coach Manuel Pellegrini thinks Fabregas is ideal for his City plans. While Arsenal FC would always have their open arms for their ex-Captain & star.

Three teams positioning themselves to attempt to convince Cesc Fabregas & FC Barcelona.  The latter does not need to worked too much as the Spanish Football Club would transfer the player with a good offer.

Stay tuned!

FC BARCELONA RECEIVES OK FROM ARSENAL FOR CESC FABREGAS

Awaiting the official fax from ARSENAL FC, the signing of CESC FABREGAS by FC BARCELONA is a done deal. In fact this SPANISH FOOTBALL summer story ends as Barça Football players & friends Pique & Puyol "spilled the beans" on their "twitter" accounts this morning before the Clubs have made it official.  The deal is a bit "freaky" but the English Club has accepted: 40M€ transfer fee broken up as 29M€ in cash, 6 M€ in "variables" & 5M€ that the player rejects from is 15% share of any transfer.

Spanish Football
Cesc Fabregas

Spanish Football press say the player will fly into Barcelona on Sunday to pass the medical check & then be presented to media on Monday. As mentioned already none of the Clubs involved have made an official statement yet but it is a matter of hours as the technical - paperwork details get sorted out.

This hopefully will be the last post on this long & tired saga, & more will be done in the future on how Cesc Fabregas performs at his new Club. From here we welcome Cesc back, wish him lots of luck & that he has made the correct decision.

FC BARCELONA - CESC FABREGAS | MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE

A couple of days ago I wrote a post about the Cesc Fabregas - FC Barcelona situation & how the Spanish Football player was seeing his attempt to join Barça being turned into a frustrating & almost nightmare experience. I made the point here that it looks like that FC Barcelona was not as "keen" in getting back their long "lost" son , as the long "lost" son is keen in getting back home. At least not at any price according to the official Barça signals.

Spanish Football
Barça Coach Guardiola

Today FC Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola gave the first  press conference of the pre-season & there were some eye opening statements that have really caught my attention. The first was this pearl of honestly when asked what is the signing priority at this moment:

"La prioridad es un delantero" (translated - "the priority is a forward") . Not a midfielder, therefore not Cesc Fabregas, obviously Alexis Sanchez ...mmmm, there was more.

When asked about Cesc Fabregas & his attempts to "force" a way out of Arsenal:

"A mí no me gustaría que un jugador mío se negara a entrenar. Cesc tiene que hacer lo que el Arsenal le pida. Si no ha ido a la gira asiática es porque tiene molestias. Él es jugador del Arsenal". (translated : "I would not like my player to refuse to train. Cesc has to do what Arsenal asks him to do. If he did not go on the Asian Tour its because he was´nt fit. He is an Arsenal player" )

You can interprete this anyway, but this could be a message to "calm down son".

The Barça Coach then "diplomatically said that Cesc was a wanted player by them, that Barça had the money for both Cesc & SAnchez & ( this is another pearl) ...if Cesc can´t come this year , then next year. Barça has´nt any rush & until the 31st of August there is plenty of time. Next year? Plenty of time? What if Guardiola is not at Barcelona next year?

Spanish Football
Cesc Fabregas & his Spanish Football mates

I don´t know about Cesc Fabregas, but if I were him I would be really disappointed with the lack of "love" coming out of Camp Barça. Not a priority at this moment? To use a comparison with Real Madrid ( just a comparison ), when they want a player they get their player: Cristiano Ronaldo 97M€, Kaka 67M€, Zidane, Figo, Beckham, Ronaldo, ... etc etc

Will Cesc Fabregas end up at Barcelona? I think that he will because the player wants to so blindly & its his heart felt desire, but I am not seeing here "love" , whole hearted reciprocal love from Barcelona.

To finish on a light note, perhaps if Cesc Fabregas would have been a musician this may have been written by him. Or at least its a track that can be used as the soundtrack of this long, frustraing, suffering Spanish Football Player story.

CESC FABRAGAS - FC BARCELONA | LOVE IS BLIND

This SPANISH FOOTBALL transfer story is beginning to stink. Its a "love story" that has hit the wall of reality with full heart wrenching consequences. FC Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez mentioned it the other day ..."Cesc is suffering", reminding me of Romeo yelling his heart out for Juliette.

The negotiations between ARSENAL & FC BARCELONA for Spanish Football International CESC FABREGAS are not good, in fact , they are terrible at this moment. Arsenal wants 40M€ minimum to begin talking & FC Barcelona thinks that's way out of touch with reality. Arsenal is also feed-up with Barça using third personas ( Xavi, Busquets, Pique...etc) to send messages & attempt to fire-up the atmosphere

spanish football
Cesc Fabregas

When someone is in love, as Cesc Fabregas is with Barça, he/she does not see the truth & does not wish to hear the truth. FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell does not consider Cesc Fabregas an important objective for the team, the President does not want to pay +40M€ tranfer figure for a player that will most likely spend more time on the bench than on the field where Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Mascherana & Thiago have all something to say. Coach Guardiola seems to be the only support that Cesc has , but this is weaning away, as it is more about "ethics" & "team spirit" than just Football. The fact is , Guardiola may decide to leave Barcelona at the end of the season ( its possible) & investing 40M€ is a long-term plan.

Added to this there is a certain pride element. Barça still feels sour about the way Arsenal - according to them - poaches their young stars from "La Masia". Barça is the "Best Club in the World" & wishes to be respected as such & let other know that this is the new order. However, this ruffles the feathers of many other Clubs ( look how long Alexis Sanchez is taking with mid Italian Club Udinese ) & added with the poor negotiating experience of the Barça Directive Team, things get complicated. I still remember FC Barcelona President a month back saying publicly the Cesc costs less than last year , much less than 40M€. Imagine the reaction of Arsenal thinking that now Barça also sets market prices.

Lastly, street interviews by Spanish TV asking Barcelona fans & city citizens, illustrate that they are totally indifferent to Cesc Fabregas returning or not. I still remember the Camp Nou whistles & the booing given to Cesc by a big Barça sector in the last Champions League Q-Final match.

Cesc Fabregas is still pressuring with an announcement to Barça that he is willing to of lower his salary to get the Club to make the "extra effort". Stupid in my mind that any professional resort to this when its the Club that's not making the "extra-effort". Barcelona based Sports press ( Sport / Mundo Deportivo) are attempting to paint Arsenal - Wenger as the bad guys, but the truth is Wenger has kept his words with Cesc Fabregas & its FC Barcelona not expressing
reciprocal "unconditioned love"

Will Cesc Fabregas finally go to FC Barcelona? I think so, because of the players blinded insistence,  & Barça feel morally obliged to take him. Good move for Cesc´s carreer? I hope so, although it does not look like at this moment. I cant understand anyone wishing to go to a place not 100% wanted or "loved".

Stay tuned for developments!

Love is blind!

FC BARCELONA | ALEXIS SANCHEZ OK - CESC FABREGAS STILL WATING

FC Barcelona
The news hit hard last night & is doing the rounds across the Spanish Sports newspapers this morning. The signing by FC BARCELONA of Chilean 23 year old International & UDINESE player ALEXIS SANCHEZ is imminent with a full announcement in hours.

Spanish Football
Alexis Sanchez

The final transfer number dances from source to source but the most talked about figure is around 43M€ with Italian Club Udinese giving their OK ( 27M€ up front,  with the 16M€ resting in quotes, friendly games, Champions League objectives & other formulas). The player receives a 5 year contract & I would believe an interesting salary that hasn´t been disclosed at this point.

Interesting to see how with very limited cash resources at Barcelona, the Club has put Sanchez as priority over Cesc Fabregas. Imagine how the player must be feeling & thinking after observing that he is a second dish. In fact, media observers have commented these last few days that President Sandro Rosell does not see Fabregas as a "do or die" objective & that the player would come after in "reasonable" conditions. Barca has offered around the 25 - 29M€ area while Arsenal wants to get paid 40M€.

Cesc Fabregas may be "blindly" in love with FC Barcelona but the Club follows other emotions far from matters of the soul. The current Arsenal player may realize this brutal fact if he finally manages to get to Camp Barça where he can contemplate the on the bench the higher questions of "Football love".

LATEST - 22.00 Spanish Time Chelsea FC has apparently ( said by Udinese) made a last minute super offer that has "halted" things in the final finish line. In most cases the player will have the last say & it all points ( if nothing has changed in the last hours) that Alexis Sanchez desires to play at Barca. Stay tuned!

FC BARCELONA - CESC FABREGAS | AN NEVER ENDING STORY

spanish football sports
Watching a popular late night SPANISH FOOTBALL TV programme the other night one of the journalists invited said: ..."the Cesc Fabregas operation isn´t so shut case as it seems". In fact, the journo went further & said ..."It is all taking longer than expected to shut the transfer of Cesc to Barcelona".

Food for thought, especially as one reads a few headlines in todays Spanish Sports press. The first piece is from "AS" which publish that FC Barcelona has offered to pay for the Cesc Fabregas transfer in quotes. That is,  9,5M€ (25 % of the offered 37,5 M€) now upfront & the rest in negotiated periods. Problem is ARSENAL asks for 44M€, & the clear fact is that FC Barcelona,  believe it or not, has a cash problem, that is , only 45M€ to make signings & they are talking about Cesc, Sanchez & who knows who else. If I was Arsenal, I may be in my right mind to think if Barça is in fact seroius at all about signing Cesc Fabregas

Spain football
Cesc Fabregas

But there is more to this extended signing story. Today "Sky Sport" publish that REAL MADRID may have entered the picture & has approached ARSENAL without any "fancy financial formulas" claiming that Madrid think that 45M€ looks good to them. First instinct is to find out if this is at all true, that Real Madrid in fact has made a move or its Arsenal turning the screws. Secondly, it could be Real Madrid attempting to give their rival a hard time as it is a habitual manoeuvring behaviour used by both sides to "sit it up" the other. Thirdly, it could be all genuine as what Real Madrid really do need to spice up their squad is a creative midfielder with characteristics of Fabregas.

The player will independently need to seriously consider & think about his future beyond his "heart-strings". What is almost certain is that Fabregas at FC Barcelona will not be the "star" & will spend time on the bench. While at Real Madrid Cesc Fabregas could become the "engineer" of the team, get a firm & steady place & become a real undisputed World Star.

I still believe at this stage that Cesc Fabregas looks more closer to becoming a FC Barcelona player than for any other Club. But it is true that the "getting Cesc to Barcelona" operation is taking too long & this naturally gives rise to questions & some doubt. Stay tuned!

FC BARCELONA SEALS YOUNG MIDFIELDER THIAGO UNTIL 2015

SPANISH FOOTBALL & 20 year old FC BARCELONA young midfield sensation THIAGO ALCANTARA for come to an agreement with his Club to extend his contract until 2015 & raise his contract release clause to a whooping 90M€. This way Barça keeps at bay the wolves that have been circling their "young puppy" this last week. Lets remember that Manchester United supposedly offered around 17M€ for the young player, that Chelsea FC was asking for price & worst of all for Barça, the shadow of Real Madrid was in view.

Spanish Football
Thiago

This piece of "afternoon" breaking news leads one to think, what about Cesc Fabregas? Below is a post Spanish Football Sports uploaded this morning that questioned if a move to Barça by Fabregas was in his best interest. Observing the news regarding Thiago, makes me wonder if Cesc will be a "regular" player at FC Barcelona.

Congratulations to Thiago.

CESC FABRAGAS GOING TO FC BARCELONA A REAL MISTAKE ?

The positions between FC BARCELONA & ARSENAL FC are getting closer & it looks that the transfer of the Arsenal Captain CESC FABREGAS is close & soon to be shut. Its taken three years of on-off-on bargaining & strategic planning to get the "prodigal son" back to Barcelona. However the question is , does Barcelona really need Cesc? Or a bigger question for the future of Cesc Fabregas, is FC Barcelona the right Club to make a move to & continue on with his career?

Spanish Football
Cesc Fabregas

The Cesc Fabregas move to FC Barcelona seems to be soaked with spiritual, almost religious, reasons that cloud a more cold & thought out logical process of rational analysis. The Barcelona Club feels an ethical & moral obligation to sign Cesc Fabregas paying 35 - 40M€ when the Clubs has no "cash- flow". The player, Cesc Fabregas, wants to get back to Barcelona to spend time with his mates Pique & Puyol. Morality? Ethics? Friendship? Dangerous words & "vibrations" that any serious professional should avoid if they are serious in their thirst for triumph, titles, success & progression.

Lets look at the actual FC Barcelona team & look at the position Cesc Fabregas is supposed to add value: the midfield. Barça has already Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano, Keita...& young "sensacion" Thiago. Does Barcelona need Cesc Fabregas?

But here is the question most local observers are asking: will Barcelona pay 35-40M€ to have Cesc Fabregas spend more time on the bench than on the field? Can anyone think seriously that Fabregas will displace Xavi or Iniesta? if so, I can imagine Xavi & Iniesta having a chat with Guardiola asking why their "mate" is playing in THEIR position.

Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal is Captain, vital in the team set up & adored by his fans. Cesc Fabregas at FC Barcelona will be just another good midfield player, on the bench as a great substitute to Xavi & Iniesta, the grand mate of Pique & Puyol.

Current Coach Guardiola is the big supporter of Cesc Fabregas & has asked that the Club make an effort to get the player over. But Guardiola has threatened on many occasion to end his stint at Barça: If Guardiola decides to end his stay next season?

I get the feeling that Cesc Fabregas has thought more with his heart & feelings than with his head. I feel that it is a big mistake the move to Barcelona & that the career of Cesc Fabregas will be seriously altered from "super-star" to "just a midfielder" status. Football is a serious matter, its much more than hanging out with your mates & having fun; its work & lots of dedication in an every changing daily environment. I hope I am wrong,  as the player has the talent to be a huge star & give us nights of Football magic. I don't want to see the man on a bench cheering on his mates & wondering why.

REAL MADRID CESC FABREGAS | PREPARING A 60M€ OFFER?

Guys, I just inform you & I suppose that many readers who are far away from Spain & Europe may appreciate to be informed of what´s "cooking" locally in Spanish Football. Below is the front page of todays Spanish Sports daily "Marca", a paper known for its over-zealous hype building & news scoops to marketing their imagined superiority over rival media. This strategy somethings leads to "over-selling" & too much smoke.

Having said this, the rumours of a REAL MADRID bid for ARSENAL FC Captain CESC FABREGAS are gaining strenght & is being backed by murmur from  Barcelona based Sports papers. This last point makes you sit down & at least read what being said at this moment.

Spanish Football

This is the lastest. Cesc Fabregas is a prime objective of FC Barcelona & nearly managed to get the player last summer. Cesc Fabregas has said publicaly that his only desire is to return to Barça & there play his Football. This week FC Barcelona said that they only have budgeted 45M€ for a possible Cesc Fabregas operation & this has alerted Real Madrid.

Real Madrid was this week confirmed by financial consultancy firm Delliote as the "Richest Club in the World" &in their long term planning  need a creative midfield player to combine with XABI ALONSO & to be his future heir in the midfield. Therefore, the news is that REAL MADRID is preparing a 60M€ offer to Arsenal for their Captain.

  • An attention grabber & publicity stunt by "Marca"? Could be.
  • An attempt by Real Madrid to put obstacles in Barça´s path & increase the transfer price? Maybe.
  • All totally bullshit. Not the first time.
I personally do not see Cesc Fabregas going to Real Madrid due to is strong ties - especially personal - with Barcelona. The cover of Barcelona Sports daily "Sports" today says "CESC SAYS NO TO REAL MADRID". However, said this, anything is possible in Football & I have been around too many years to discard anything 100%.

Stay tuned to developments, they could be really interesting.

CESC FABREGAS FC BARCELONA | HUMOUR

Some Football humour from Barcelona sports paper "Mundo Deportivo" & its cartoon section "Pelotazos" by Kap.

Translated : "...but Cesc is very comfortable here at Arsenal".

FC BARCELONA HAS ARSENAL PLAYER VAN PERSIE AS NEXT SEASON SIGNING OBJECTIVE?

Source: SFS Blog
According to
Spanish daily “AS”, FC BARCELONA has ARSENAL FC Dutch International forward VAN PERSIE on their list of new 2010 – 2011 season objectives, along with the already mentioned below player David Villa. In fact the paper goes on further to mention that Barça is already talking with Arsenal about the 26 year old Dutchman. No need to remind you that another Arsenal player CESC FABREGAS is rumoured to be heading also Spain way next season, thus this will leave the English Club without two key players if theses stories turn out true.

Understandingly Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger is not too receptive to the idea of the Club selling Van Persie to Barcelona. But the Spanish Team is persistent & for now are holding firm to their objective. I see it difficult that Arsenal will sell two of its Top players, with Cesc Fabregas more likely than Persie to end up at Barça (or Real Madrid) if either do eventually leave the English Club.

Stay tuned! Anything is possible, especially with a World Cup coming up.

CESC FABRAGAS UPSET WITH ARSENAL FC: A TRANSFER STRATEGY?

Source: Sp Ftball Sprts Blog /
The news published by the English paper “The Daily Mirror” about the conflict generated between ARSENAL FC Captain & Spanish International CESC FABREGAS with his Club President Peter Hill-Wood has made its way down Spain way. The falling out between player & Club is apparently serious & is due because Mr. Hill-Wood made the comment that Cesc Fabregas isn’t good enough to play with FC BARCELONA.

http://spanishfootballsports.blogspot.comHowever there is more to this than meets the eye. The Arsenal President has been swerving questions the last few weeks about an “existing” gentlemans “pact” between Arsenal & FC Barcelona to sell the player to the latter next season. The reply to this bombardment of questions by the Arsenal President was that Fabregas hasn’t a place in the current Barça team

While the storm builds & continues, I would like to put forward my theory. This could be a fabricated press strategy to begin to “break the message” softly to the Arsenal fans. There is nothing better than to justify the departure of Fabregas because of an irreconcilable
difference & professional disappointment. This way the Arsenal fans will not be so hard on Fabregas if it does come that he is transferred to FC Barcelona next season.

But is FC Barcelona also a 100% shut deal? I am not so sure at this point although Barça does seem to have all the cards, or that’s how it looks like, right?

FC BARCELONA DENIES "VERBAL AGREEMENT" WITH CESC FABREGAS

FC BARCELONA has put this announcement on its Club website:

"Given the exceptional repercussions created by the stories that have appeared in different media with respect to an agreement with Arsenal FC player Cesc Fàbregas, FCB flatly denies that there have been any negotiations or agreements with the player.

In accordance with FIFA regulations, FC Barcelona’s contract policy has always made it a priority to negotiate with the club of origin before making any particular agreement with the player.

FC Barcelona wishes to stress that it has always maintained excellent institutional relations with Arsenal FC"

Various interpretations:
1. It is true.
2. FC Barcelona - via its current Directive team lead by President
Laporta - filtered the news for "political" purposes, seeing the Club
is entering Presidential election period.
3. FC Barcelona wishes to safeguard itself against a possible FIFA rule
breaching accusation.

FC BARCELONA: CESC FABREGAS SAY YES?

English Premier League Club ARSENAL may have sent a formal letter
of complaint to FC BARCELONA to stop contacting their star player
& Captain CESC FABREGAS, & the English Club may have made an
offer to better the Spanish Internationals economic conditions, but
news from Barcelona has added a different light. According to
Barcelona based media, Radio ONA FM, which naturally has been
picked up by one of the city Sporting papers “Mundo Deportivo”,
Cesc Fabregas has given his OK to the conditions offered by FC
BARCELONA
(i.e. he has an agreement). Now the only thing left to
do is for both Arsenal & FC Barcelona to come to a negotiated
economic transfer figure. It is said here that Cesc Fabregas will
“pressure” Arsenal so as they will accept the Barça offer & allow
him to leave.

(photo: Cesc Fabregas _by Matt Dunham - AP)

Apparently the decision by Fabregas to leave Arsenal was taken after
Manchester United defeated his current Club, thus taking away its
Premiership title aspirations, something that Chelsea FC later finally
buried with their 2-0 victory over their follow London rivals.

This news sinks the rumours that REAL MADRID was in the front seat
& ahead of Barça in the Cesc Fabregas negotiations. The player has
strong ties to Barça as he was Football raised at Camp Barça as a
youngster & has always expressed a desire to return “home”. Real
Madrid has been talking with Fabragas & has been serious, but key
Real Madrid Club Directive figures are not totally convinced & this
may have also played a part in swaying Fabragas to finally say YES
to FC Barcelona.

Having said all this, it is still rumour & pure speculation at this
stage. FC Barcelona is embarking on a fierce Presidential Club
election period with candidates promising many things of which
some no doubt are pure fantasy in order to attract votes. However,
this news piece does have some circumstantial weight & credibility.

Stay tuned for further developments in the coming weeks &/or
months.

LATEST (10/02/2010) The daily "Sport" comments that the VERBAL
AGREEMENT betwen Cesc & Barça is for 5 years at 6.5M€/year. The

players representative has denied any agreement, but he must, due
to FIFA rules.

REAL MADRID: CESC FABREGAS ON THEIR 2010 LIST?

Spanish Sports paper “AS”, publish today that REAL MADRID has
entered the “battle” to lure to Spanish Football the 22 year old
ARSENAL FC Captain & Spanish International CESC FABREGAS.
According to this same paper, there exists a “tacit” agreement
between Manager Arsene Wenger & Fabregas, that the former
will allow the latter to leave Arsenal at the end of this season.

Real Madrid enters into “another” battle with FC BARCELONA whose
Presidential candidate Sandro Rosell has Cesc Fabregas in mind as an
electoral card in the upcoming Barça Presidential elections. FC
Barcelona has an advantage over Real Madrid because Fabregas has
an "emotional tie" with the Club. However, Real Madrid is preparing a
big offer with help from Adidas who would love to pull the player
away from Nike, plus lets not forget that Real Madrid made an offer
for Fabregas in June but were put off with Arsenal´s 60M€ price tag.
