But while most of the local Sports Press & supporters watch baffled at the Clubs policy, performance & the way they are bleeding the Club with star player departures, there is news of transfer negotiations & rumours to fill up the gaps for next season, even though the players talked about may well be bargain sale specials ( not all, but some)
Diego Forlan |
After wishing to leave ( he offered himself to Real Madrid & English Clubs) Atletico de Madrid all last season, DIEGO FORLAN has commented for South America that he is now happy to continue & finish the rest of his two years left in his contract. The disappearance of Coach Sanchez Flores & the more than likely departure of Sergio Aguero brings back the spotlight on the Uruguayan forward. It is either this, or that no other Club has offered the player a deal he cannot refuse. Perhaps he is waiting to "star" in the "Copa America" & again change his mind & wish to leave. Funny bloke our Forlan.
Aimar |
New Atletico de Madrid Coach Gregorio Manzano is a big fan of 31 year old Argentine midfielder & BENFICA player PABLO AIMAR. The ex-Zaragoza & Valencia player has received an offer from Atletico de Madrid to comeback to Spanish Football. Stay tuned.
Courtois |
After selling the most promising goalkeeper in Spanish Football & a future World Star David De Gea to Manchester United, Atletico de Madrid need to fill a huge hole under the posts. The chosen candidate is young 19 year old goalkeeper from Belguim Club GENK called COURTOIS.
Other names circulating the "Animal Crackers" Club are U-21 Golden Boot & European Champ ADRIAN who has his Atletico future currently blocked by his current Club DEPORTIVO who wish to get paid more than originally promised. This would be indeed an interesting signing.
Lastly, VILLAREAL Italian International ROSSI is the candidate spoken about to fill the place of Sergio Aguero ( if he leaves). Rossi was connected with FC Barcelona, but that option has gone cold & now Atletico could take up the glove.
Stay tuned, we are assured some laughs in coming days & weeks.
