REAL MADRID: LIVERPOOL WISHES VAN NISTELROOY ON LOAN

Speculation is hot from England that LIVERPOOL FC is negotiating
with REAL MADRID the possible loan of Dutch forward RUUD VAN
NISTELROOY
. One would suspect that Liverpool expects “a favour”
from the Spanish team after they managed to pull away their key
midfielder Xabi Alonso this season.

Liverpool Coach Benitez sees in Van Nistelrooy the prefect substitute
to Fernando Torres whose injuries are causing him to miss vital games,
apart from complementing if needed. The Dutchman has Premier
experience, has goal on his mind & wants desperately to play as to
assure a place on the Dutch National squad for the upcoming South
Africa World Cup.

The only obstacle said at this moment between Clubs is who will pay
the high salary that the Real Madrid player receives by contract. Real
Madrid wishes Liverpool to pay, something the English Club wishes
to avoid. Stay tuned!

gone on to become professional stars like Fernando Torres &
Granedo.

MOHAMED as their star scoring 4 goals in the final. Watch the VIDEO

REAL MADRID: IF RIBERY DECIDES TO LEAVE BAYERN

It’s a secret that has been well known by the specialist press media
for months; that REAL MADRID & BAYERN MUNICH share a verbal
agreement for FRANCK RIBERY. One got the hint when the French
International supposedly knocked back a succulent offer from Chelsea
FC with the Spanish team in mind in the last weeks.

Now from the online media “Munich Europolitan.de” the news gets
an extra “lift” with the declaration that Real Madrid will sign Franck
Ribery for 50M€ next season as long as the Frenchmen decides NOT to
renew his contract with Bayern Munich. The German media source
adds that both Clubs are in total agreement & that Bayern has a
"margin of hope" of keeping the midfielder if he, & only he, decides
to stay.

DAVID SILVA THE MAN CHOSEN BY BARÇA COACH GUARDIOLA?

The idea that FC BARCELONA forward THIERRY HENRY will decide
to finish his career in the United States is gaining in strength. The
speculation is so credible that Barça is said to be already making the
moves to assure that they will have an appropriate substitute to
cover the left wing position.

According the Spanish local daily “AS”, Barça Coach Guardiola has put
on the table the name of VALENCIA CF forward DAVID SILVA. The other
alternative would be Valencia team mate JUAN MATA whom Barça
made a 20M€ offer earlier in the season that was rejected, but SILVA is

the Nº1 objective.

However, not as simple as it all sounds:
1. FC Barcelona are heading into Presidential elections
2. Both players have important competitors who will have counter
-
offers
3. Relations between Valencia & Barcelona are not good after the
David Villa “incident”

Stay tuned, as this story develops throughout the coming months.

DAVID VILLA READY FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE?

Interesting quote from VALENCIA CF striker DAVID VILLA to the
British daily "The Times":

Villa:
"Me gusta mucho la ''Premier''

translated: "I like the Premier a lot"

This is a clear message that the Spanish International is ready to make

the jump & leave Spain for the Premier League. A message that Chelsea
FC, Manchester United & City may interprete as a signal to begining
making offers

Stay tuned!

LIONEL MESSI - FIFA WORLD PLAYER 2009

It was the "cherry on the cake" in an increible year for FC
BARCELONA
& its young Argentine star forward LIONEL MESSI
who officially recieved tonight the FIFA WORLD PLAYER 2009
prize.

Messi won with 1073 votes, ahead of second placed Cristiano Ronaldo
with 352 votes, third to Xavi with 196, fourth to Kaká with 190 &
Iniesta with 134 pts. As one can see, all are Spanish Liga players &
two are born in Spain.

FIFA/FIFPro (50.000 World Football players syndicate) also named
the Best XI with more Liga & Spanish representation with Iker Casillas,
Dani Alves & Fernando Torres voted to form part of the team.

In the female section, Brazilian MARTA won her 4th straight Women´s
FIFA title.

REAL MADRID forward CRISTIANO RONALDO won the "Puskas" Award
for the GOAL OF THE SEASON scored against Oporto in the Champions
League clash when with Manchester United.

SFS congratulates all the nominees ( as seen above) & the winners,
plus of course Lionel Messi. A great night for Spanish Football!

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2009 -2010 - ROUND 15 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Round 15 of the Spanish Liga continued today to conclude & take a
two week Xmas break to see it come back with all the action the
2nd of Jan 2010.

VILLAREAL put out the RACING "fire" with a 2-0 victory with
goals from LLORENTE in the 50th min & ROSSI in the 72nd min.
The win gives Villareal much needed points while Racing fall back
into their "nightmare", something the latter has two weeks to
think about & find solutions.

MALAGA ended the MALLORCA run of victories with a 2-1
win that came thanks to a goalie mistake by Aouate that
allowed FORESTIERI of Malaga to score the winner. Earlier
in the game FERNANDO scored in the 23rd min for Malaga &
ALVAREZ equalized in the 56th min.

VALLADOLID won 2-1 SPORTING DE GIJÓN in the very last
minute thanks to a goal by MEDUNJANIN. Earlier Sporting got
ahead via MORAN in the 16th min to see NIVALDO equalize in the
29th min. Valladolid go into Xmas with a much needed dose of
"oxygen".

Finally RCD ESPANYOL managed a victory with a 2-0 scoreline
over ALMERIA that puts their Caoch Hugo Sanchez in the "virtual"
hot seat of unemployment. The goalscorers for Espanyol were
MARQUEZ (above) &
CORO

Another defensive error allowed TENERIFE to get ahead & score
early in the 3rd min via NINO to put ATLETICO DE MADRID
against the ropes. However the match finished in a 1-1 draw thanks
to the 21st min equalizer by JURADO. But this is misleading as
Tenerife missed a penalty & Atletico goalie Asenjo made a miracle
save in the last moment. The best thing for Atletico is the Xmas
break & to figure if they can change their course in 2010, a road
that is now heading towards the 2º Division!

DEPORTIVO & VALENCIA CF played 0-0 draw. Valencia see how
Real Madrid & FC Barcelona escape a bit more at the top of the
classification table.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2009 -2010 - ROUND 15 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Three games played in Round 15 of "La Liga" with plenty of goals in
a cold winter night of Football across Spain.

REAL MADRID defeated REAL ZARAGOZA 6-0 in a "white-wash" that
showed all the limitations of the visiting team & all the fire-power that
the home team has in its arsenal.

HIGUAÍN started things early in the 3rd min with his goal, followed
by two goals in the space of 2 mins ( 25th & 27th) by midfielder
VAN DER VAART (image above) who is filling in nicely for Kaká.
Then in the 33rd min HIGUAÍN scored his second with a beauty as
seen here in the below video:

The 2ºhalf saw Real Madrid continue on its merry way with
CRISTIANO RONALDO getting on the goal scoring sheet in the 50th
min with a nicely worked individual goal. Finally BENZEMA scored
in the 72nd min after coming on & celebrated his birthday with a
smile as seen below in the video:

Entertainment & goals, with Real Madrid going onto the Xmas break
as the team with most goals scored in "La Liga" to date!

Huge surprise at Sevilla as GETAFE defeated SEVILLA FC away
1- 2 with two goals from SOLDADO (above). The only Sevilla goal
came in the 51st min via NEGREDO but it was not enough. A big
step backward for Sevilla!

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO did all the damage in the 1º st half to take
their game against OSASUNA 2-0. The goals came via YESTE in the
1ºst min & FERNANDO LLORENTE in the 12th min. The home team
was superior & could have scored more but Osasuna managed to
control the loss within an "acceptable" margin.

FC BARCELONA DEFEATS ESTUDIANTES 1-2 TO MAKE HISTORY & WIN THE FIFA WORLD CLUBS TITLE (VIDEO)

SFS has taken this impressive photo from Spanish sports daily "Marca"
to celebrate with all FC BARCELONA fans around the World a historic
1-2 victory over Argentine team ESTUDIANTES DE LA PLATA to take
the FIFA WORLD CLUBS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE 2009.

Never before - until tonight - has a European team won all the possible
titles up for grabs in one single season. In the case of FC Barcelona they
have been the Spanish Cup, Spanish League, Champions League,
European SuperCup, Spanish SuperCup & FIFA World Clubs. This makes
them the "Greatest Barcelona Team ( & possibly all time Football Team)
in the History of the game.

Getting there was extremely difficult tonight as Estudiantes had a plan
that nearly paid off. The Argentine´s were not there for beautiful play
& set up a defensive team with strict controls on the Barça midfield
players so as to cancel out their ball control. In the 36th min
Estudiante forward BOSELLI put them ahead with a great header, thus
putting in place the first objective of their strategy.

The 2ºhalf was all Barça as they looked for the equalizer but the
Argentine team put up a defensive wall & "allocated" the times to
their advantage. But Barça kept to its philosophy of touch Football
& in the 88th min substitute revelation PEDRO did it again to score,
equalize & take the match into extra-time. Watch the below VIDEO
for the goal:

(Pedro - allow to load)

This broke the Argentine spirit & physically they were "wasted"
going into the extra-time. Here Barça was stronger & in the 110th min
LIONEL MESSI scored the winner, as seen here on this VIDEO:

(Messi - allow to load)

The rest is history for the Club & Spanish Football. Lionel Messi
was voted "Golden Ball" of the Tournament with Xavi recieving
to bronze. Special mention to Ibrahimovic for a great match
& young substitute Jaffren who gave spark in the extra-time.
Congratulations to FC BARCELONA!

ATLETICO DE MADRID TALKING TO FANNI?

News from daily “AS” confirms that ATLETICO DE MADRID & player
ROD FANNI of French team RENNAIS STADE have been talking &
working towards a possible signing. The defensive right-back is said
to be “hyped-up” with the opportunity of playing in the Spanish Liga.

However, the players representative Dominique Six has expressed
that he thinks that it will difficult to see his player be allowed to
leave his Club this Winter & that there also exists competition from
Bayern, Tottenham, Man City & West Ham. This last point is the
typical comment to lift the transfer prices & thus increase commissions.
In any case, nothing is certain & this remains in the realm of speculation.

EUROPA LEAGUE 2009-2010 DRAW

The "eliminated" teams from the Champions League join the qualifiers
of the Group stages in the Europa League to march onward & be all
thrown into a draw celebrated today to be matched
up.

Here is the result of the draw:

Rubin Kazan - Hapoel Tel Aviv ; Athletic Bilbao - Anderlecht ;
Copenhague - Olympique de Marsella ; Panathinaikos - AS Roma ;
Atletico de Madrid – Galatasaray; Ajax - Juventus ;
Brujas - Valencia ; Fulham - Shaktar Donetsk ; Liverpool - Unirea ;
Hamburgo - PSV ; Villarreal - Wolfsburgo ; Standar Lieja – Salzburgo;
Twente - Werder Bremen ; Lille - Fenerbahçe ;
Everton - Sporting de Lisboa; Herta de Berlín - Benfica

The Spanish teams are in black.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2009-2010: SPANISH TEAMS RELATIVELY LUCKY

The CHAMPIONS LEAGUE draw held today for the last 16 teams
gave the following match ups with games scheduled to begin again
the 16th of Feb 2010.

(courtesy from Sport.es)

As you can see, out of the three Spanish Clubs in the draw REAL MADRID
was matched with the "more difficult" team being Olympique

de Lyon. This is relative as every team in todays draw has had to
eliminate other Clubs to get here which gives them merit & total respect.

I could have been worst, one has to only ask any Inter, Manchester Utd,
Chelsea FC, AC Milan or Stuttgart Football Directive &/or fan to know

beforehand what they think about todays draw.

In conclusion, the Spanish Clubs have relatively little to be unhappy
about.

EUROPA LEAGUE 2009: GENOVA 1 - VALENCIA CF 2 & VILLAREAL 0 - SALZBURG 1

VALENCIA CF managed to defeat Italian Club GENOVA 1-2 in a busy
& hard fought match. The Spaniards finish on top of their Europa
League Group table & go into the next phase.

The Italians at home were a tough nut, even though Valencia scored
first in the 46 th min via BRUNO, however veteran striker CRESPO
equalized for Genova in the 51st min.

From here it was end to end stuff until Valencia was awarded a penalty
which Villa failed to transform in the 85th min. Then at the end DAVID
VILLA
made up for the earlier error with the winner after a goal
keeping mistake by the Italians as they desperately attempted to
draw the game.

In a game were VILLAREAL had little to play as their pass to the next
stage was set, the Spanish team put on a second - level team, & that
is how they played. They lost 0-1 to SALZBURG with a goal from
SVENTO in the 6th min. The Villareal substitutes did not take their
opportunity to prove their worth & only reinforced why they are
not part of the first squad. Disappointing!

FC BARCELONA: PEDRO MAKES FOOTBALL HISTORY

PERDO RODRIGUEZ LEDESMA
, aka Pedro, 22 years of age & FC
BARCELONA
forward made Football History yesterday at Abu Dhabi
scoring his teams third goal against Mexican side Atlante

Pedro is the only player in Football History to have scored in the 6
competitions that his Club participates in one single year, i.e.
European SuperCup, Spanish SuperCup, Liga, Spanish Cup, the
Champions League & yesterdays World Clubs Championship.
Extraordinary achievement, with a long future ahead that should
give FC Barcelona many joys & goals. Watch his Record goal on the
below VIDEO:

(Lower the Volumen)

EUROPA LEAGUE 2009-2010: AT BILBAO 0 - WERDER BREMEN 3

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO managed to qualify for the next stage of the
EUROPA LEAGUE even though the German side
WERDER BREMEN
did an authentic demolition job in the 1ºst half scoring three goals:
Pizarro 12th min; Waldo 20th min & Rosenberg 35th min

The only real local highlight was the debut of another youngster in
the 2ºhalf for Bilbao called AURTENETXE ( not Ramalho as expected).
The young man was nervous as expected & it was unfortunate that
his debut was against a German "steam-roller" tonight.

Said this, At Bilbao finish behind BREMEN in second place in their
Group
& survive to fight another day!

ATLANTE 1 - FC BARCELONA 3: STRAIGHT INTO THE "WORLD CLUBS CHAMPIONS " FINAL

ATLANTE of Mexico has been defeated by Spanish & European
Champions FC BARCELONA 1-3 in the “World Clubs Championships
being held in Abu Dhabi. This win puts Barça directly into the Sunday
Final were they will be meeting "Estudiantes de La Plata" from
Argentina for the “Best Club In The World” title for 2009.

The Mexicans started great by taking advantage of a Barça defensive
mistake in the 4th min to see ROJAS put his team ahead. From
here Barça shook the sleep off & went into gears to see them
retake control gradually with midfielder BUSQUETS equalizing in
the 35th min.

However, Coach Guardiola wanted Barça to “kill off” & secure this
match & decided to bring on LIONEL MESSI in the second half. In his
very first touch in the 55th min, Messi scored from an Ibrahimovic
pass that set the course for the rest of the game. Watch the Messi
goal on this video:

(Lower Volume & allow to load)

From this point it was Barça who dominated to have PEDRO score
his teams third goal in the 66th min. It could have been more for the
Spaniards, but they didn´t maximize their many opportunities.

Good win for Barça who now have the chance to get their sixth
straight mayor title which would be a true Football record.

FIFA RANKING: SPAIN FINISHES Nº1 FOR 2009

4. Italy 1209
5. Portugal 1176

REAL MADRID 2009: THE ROBERTO CARLOS STORY WAS HYPE

As SFS figured, the news that ROBERTO CARLOS could be an option
to fill a defensive position in the REAL MADRID team after the Pepe
knee injury turned out finally to be hype, or at worst a false lead.

The Brazilian Club Corinthians has announced on its web the
signing of Roberto Carlos where he will play until his retirement.
The only way the player will return to the Spanish Club is after
he hangs his boots in a Directive or Ambassador role.

One gets the feeling that April Fools Day came 4 months early!

ATLETICO DE MADRID: MAXI RODRIGUEZ TO JUVENTUS? THE BEGINNING OF A PLAYERS EXODUS?

It was a matter of time that the exodus of star players would happen
in reference to ATLETICO DE MADRID. The principal reason is that
the Club needs cash after years of “deviating” funds for “alternative”
uses by its owners that now put Club debt at dangerous levels. The
other reason is that the team can no longer guarantee the ambitions
of top class players as titles & European presence is poor & limited.

News from Spanish daily “AS” reports that Italian Club JUVENTUS is
interested in Argentine International midfielder MAXI RODRIGUEZ,
news backed by Italian paper “Corriere dello Sport”. This time, as
opposed to other occasions that the Italians have come knocking, a
deal could effectively take place in the upcoming “Winter Transfer
Market”. The only obstacle one can see from Spain is the reaction
from the Atletico fan base that needs all the “quality” players
they currently have available to get Atletico out if its current
classification & season hole. The fans may react violently to see how
their team resources diminish with the threat of 2º Division
relegation hanging on the horizon. However, the Club may ride
the storm, the player may leave the ship & the Club deposit some
well needed funds.

Stay tuned for developments as this is only the beginning, as others
like Aguero, Forlan …etc, may soon decide to follow Maxi Rodriguez,
independently if the latter leaves now or at the end of the season.

PS. Another source places REAL MADRID midfield player GAGO as the
other option if MAXI fails for Juventus.

REAL MADRID: ROBERTO CARLOS THE SOLUTION FOR PEPE?

Ex – Real Madrid Brazilian left back ROBERTO CARLOS has offered
himself to REAL MADRID to cover the gap left open by the knee
injury of Central Defender PEPE. Spanish daily “Marca” picks up the
news after an interview with the “Best Left Back” in the history
of the Spanish Club.

The Brazilian would lend his services for the rest of the season, if
Real Madrid called on his door. The current Fenerbahçe player, who
has a verbal agreement with Brazilian Club Corinthians to finish there
his career, has a deep desire to return to the Club of his “life” as
he feels he left originally in a manner that was not appropriate &
wishes to redeem in a "colourful manner".

SFS feels this is more a press driven initiative as Roberto Carlos still
has a lot of friends in the Spanish press. I do not see Roberto Carlos
getting back to Real Madrid at all, but said this, in Football anything
is possible.

Do you feel Roberto Carlos should be asked to help out?

IKER CASILLAS: BEST GOALKEEPER IN THE WORLD 2009

Local sports daily “AS” advances that next Monday at the FIFA ceremony
at Zurich, REAL MADRID goalkeeper IKER CASILLAS will be named
Best Goalkeeper in the World” by the Football Players Union –
the “FIFPro”.

Iker Casillas competes with other notable goalies like Víctor Valdés
(Barcelona), Van der Sar (Manchester United), Julio César (Inter),
Reina (Liverpool) & Neuer (Schalke). However, the Spanish daily
has “inside” information which confirms them that the Spanish
International & Spanish National team Captain has the majority
of the votes.

REAL MADRID: IN SEARCH OF PEPE II ?

It could not have happened at a worst moment. Just when REAL
MADRID
are beginning to find their ideal 11 they lose their Best
defender PEPE for the rest of the season. The Portugues International

is in a "Football state of grace" & falls foul to an awkward landing to
be diagnosed with torn knee ligaments that will require an operation,

6 month recovery period & will miss the World Cup in South Africa.
The player is currently mentally "floored"!

Real Madrid are seriously considering going to the "Winter Transfer
Market" to find a replacement for the rest of the season. But, can
you really expect to replace Pepe, one of the Best Central Defenders

in the World? Difficult I would suspect.

According to local daily "AS" there are a list of names that they

speculate on which could help out the Spanish Club:

- Otemendi - 21 yrs - Central Defender - Argentine - Velez Sarfield
- Subotic - 21 yrs - Central Defender - Serbian - B.Dortmund

- Lugano - 29 yrs - Central Defender - Uruguay - Fernerbahce
- Senderos - 24 yrs - C.Defender - Swiss - Arsenal
- Zapata - 23 yrs - C.Defender - Colombian - Udinese
- Kjaer - 21 yrs - C.Defender - Denmark - Palermo

- Vertonghen - 22 yrs - flank defender - Belgium - Ajax
- Lescott - 27 yrs - C.Defender - England - Man. City.

- Vargas - 26 yrs - flank defender - Peru - Fiorentina

Lots of names, lots of pure speculation, but does Real need to sign?

There are options. One is GARAY a top class defender, who can play

the ball & has a fantastic shot at goal. He could take up Pepe´s
position comfortably, as the Club just needs to have faith in the player

& give him consistency with games. The other solution is to move
SERGIO RAMOS to the Central position, a place I believe he plays better
than on the flank.

Either way, the Club will make a decision soon. But what is clear that
the injury to Pepe is a big blow for everyone & lets hope Pepe can
recover soon from this hard knock.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2009/2010 - ROUND 14 GAMES RESULTS

Spanish League - La Liga - has given the following results for Round
14
, that include controversy, plenty of goals & a serious injury to a
top player.

VALENCIA CF lost 2-3 to REAL MADRID with the latter playing its
best "Liga" game to date without Kaká & Ronaldo. The bad news was
the knee injury to Real defender PEPE who will be out for the rest
of the season
& will most likely miss the World Cup. Watch the
VIDEO
below of the highlights & the goals: Higuain 54m; Villa 59m;
Higuain 65m; Joaquin 80m; Garay 83m

(Allow to load)

FC BARCELONA defeated RCD ESPANYOL 1-0 with a controversial
penalty on Xavi that was converted by IBRAHIMOVIC.

ZARAGOZA lost 1 - 2 to ATHLETIC DE BILBAO & the former then
sacked their coach! The goal for Zaragoza was scored by DIOGO,
while
for Bilbao SAN JOSE & SUSAETA scored.

VALLADOLID drew 1-1 with MALAGA with goals from GAMEZ &
DUDA respectively

GETAFE won 2-1 TENERIFE with Getafe player ALBIN scoring twice
& JUANLU for the visitors

RACING 3 - XEREZ 2 in a high scoring match with goals from LACEN,

ALMERIA drew 1-1 with DEPORTIVO with UCHE scoring for the home

team & ALVAREZ equalizing for the visitors

OSASUNA lost 0-1 to the goal by CASTRO for MALLORCA

(At.Madrid goalkeeper Asenjo)

ATLETICO DE MADRID are seeing the "2 Division" ghosts again
after losing in the very last minute - again - 1-2 against VILLAREAL.
SIMAO put Atletico ahead but FUSTER equalized & LLORENTE got
the winner at the end.

The only goal by KANOUTE early in the match gave his team SEVILLA
FC
an away 0-1 victory over REAL SPORTING DE GIJON

REAL MADRID "THREATEN" US WITH "REALVOLUTION"

Here is the latest “charity” incentive from another Football Club
coinciding with the Christmas period.

REAL MADRID with some of its local stars & basketball team players
have put together a 12 song CD /DVD titled “Realvolution”, to
gain funds for charity. Raúl, Sergio Ramos, Guti, Iker Casillas &
Albiol lend their image, along with veteran sportsmen & (may I
add) celebrities who’s days of glory are far gone.

Here is the VIDEO of the “single”:

The verdict? Seen it all before & best that the Real Madrid stars stick
to playing Football, as they have the talent of a singing star as does a
Grizzy Bear doing the ironing.

Reason why it’s up on SFS is for the Real Madrid fans outside of Spain
who maybe interested & to witness that in today’s World many
professionals specialize. In this case, it’s obvious.

P.S: In this case, “Youtube” withdrawing this video may not
be a problem!

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO: JONÁS RAMALHO COULD MAKE CLUB HISTORY

Name: Jonás Ramalho ( father is Angolan mother Spanish - Basque
Region)
Club: ATHLETIC DE BILBAO
Position. Defender
Age: 16

This young man has been inscribed by his Club for the Europa League.
He only has 16 years of age & talent by a truck load, as he is about to

follow the steps of his team-mate MUNIAIN, another child prodigy
already part of the 1ºst team.

The youngster could make his debut in "La Liga" this weekend & make

Bilbao history as the first player of "colour" to participate in the 1ºst
team. Congratulations, excellent news!

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2009 - GROUP G & F RESULTS: SEVILLA FC 1 - RANGERS 0 & KIEV 1 - FC BARCELONA 2 (VIDEO)

SEVILLA FC culminated its great Champions League Group trayectory
with a 1-0 victory over GLASGOW RANGERS in their Group G match.

The 7th min goal by KANOUTE via a penalty was enough to give the
home team the victory & the Top spot of their group.

In the other match with Spanish representation, FC BARCELONA
had a more difficult time to achieve their 1-2 victory over DYNAMO
OF KIEV. FC Barcelona managed to finish on top spot of Group F thanks

to goals from XAVI HERNANDEZ in the 33rd min & a magnificant free-
kick from LIONEL MESSI
in the 86th min to seal the clash.

Watch the Video of the Messi free-kick:

Dynamo Kiev put a fright into the body of Barça & fans when they
surprised everyone with an early 2nd min goal from MILEVSKYY after
Barça goalie Valdez fumbled. However, Barça gradually recomposed
itself, shrugged off the Russian aggression & got back into the groove
to see how the Russians lost steam in their endevour to get the

victory.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2009 GROUP C & D: OLYMPIQUE 1 - REAL MADRID 3 & ATLETICO DE MADRID 0 - OPORTO 3

REAL MADRID defeated OLYMPIQUE OF MARSEILLE 1-3 to
secure top spot of Group C & avoid the stronger teams in the next
stage. Apart from an excellent Spanish defence ( Pepe, Ramos, Albiol
& company), backed by a disciplined midfield (Xavi & Lass), it was
Cristiano Ronaldo that unbalanced, surprised, gave spark & scored

two goals.

The French team went out aggresively but were surprised when
CRISTIANO RONALDO fired in a 30m free-kick in the 4th min that
rocked Olympique. From here the French team got really physical

& advanced with all their strenght to equalize & they did in the 11th
min via LUCHO.

Real Madrid regained controlled & had chances - Ronaldo heading the
post, Marcelo missing a shot & Van Der Vaart unlucky with his shots
- but it was the Real defence that stopped it all.

The second half saw Real Madrid take further control & attempt to

dominate & posess the ball. Defender ALBIOL put the Spaniards ahead
in the 60th min & it looked secure until Casillas gave away a penalty
that Olympique midfielder LUCHO missed. This last act brought down

the spirits of the French & RONALDO scored his teams third & his
second in the 80th min after a defensive mistake.

Good result for Madrid, improvement in their play, excellent defensive

game & it is obvious that Cristiano Ronaldo is VITAL for this team

ATLETICO DE MADRID gave its worst image tonight losing 0-3
against OPORTO in their group D match. Thanks to Chelsea FC
drawing 2-2 with Apoel it allowed Atletico to get its place in
the Europa League; really lucky at that!

The Spanish team was simply out played & overrun by a solid
team on a European mission. The goals came from ALVES in the
1st min (says it all), FALCAO in the 13th min & HULK in the 76th
min.

Atletico kiss the Champions League goodbye in a sad manner, but

quite frankly they are not up to the level needed for this competition
& we will need to see if they are as well for the Europa League.

REAL MADRID 2009: VIDEO OF CRISTIANO RONALDO FREE - KICK GOAL AGAINST OLYMPIQUE

Great free-kick by CRISTIANO RONALDO to score the first goal
for REAL MADRID tonight against OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE in
their Champions League group clash:

FIFA WORLD PLAYER 2009 CANDIDATES: FC BARCELONA & SPANISH FOOTBALL HAPPY WITH XAVI & INIESTA

What can we say about theses guys?

FC BARCELONA is happy along with all their fans around the World
to have 3 players out of 5 official candidates up for the FIFA World
Player 2009
prize. Messi, Xavi & Iniesta all team-mates in the same
Club is part of the reason that this FC Barcelona side is considered
the best team of all its History - & still there are titles to be won!

Spanish Football (Soccer) is also proud & grateful that both Xavi
& Iniesta will be steering the Spanish National Team in the next
2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The hot favourite is Lionel Messi, followed by Ronaldo & Xavi. However,
SFS choice is Xavi Hernandez. Congratulations to all & good luck.

FIFA WORLD PLAYER 2009: THE 5 CANDIDATES ALL "LIGA" PLAYERS

The indicators are clear, they all play in the Spanish League & this
years
winner will either come from FC Barcelona & Real Madrid.
Lionel Messi who has just won France Football Golden Ball is the hot
favourite in front of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The winner will be officially presented the 21st of December in
Zurich (Switzerland). SFS vote goes to Xavi Hernandez, but the

glamour & the more mediatic figures will most likely win.

VAN NISTELROOY & BOJAN KRKIC RESPECTIVELY ON AC ROMA & ARSENAL AGENDAS?

Some interesting news coming out of the Spanish Sports Daily “AS”
in reference to the upcoming “Winter Transfer Market” comments
on two players that affect both Real Madrid & FC Barcelona.

Firstly, the REAL MADRID forward RUUD VAN NISTELROOY maybe
loaned to AC ROMA for free if we are to believe Italian daily
“Corriere dello Sport”. Secondly, that English Premier League Club
ARSENAL wishes to incorporate a forward & has set its sights now
on FC BARCELONA youngster BOJAN KRKIC if we are to believe
English paper “The Daily Star”, were earlier indications also placed
Van Nistelrooy as an option.

Van Nistelrooy has interest from Tottenham & was on Arsenal´s agenda
as well as the player only wishes to play, get European coverage &
secure a place in the Dutch International team for the upcoming World
Cup 2010. Arsenal looks at Bojan to fill the hole of injured Van Persie
& could offer 9M€ for the player. However, in this case FC Barcelona
may not sell at all & the player who is still young could be reluctant to
leave his home for foreign soil. The most probable solution & /or
option is a loan with a return trip ticket.

Stay tuned!
