ATLETICO DE MADRID: ARGENTINE EDUARDO SALVIO NEW PLAYER

Some may ask where the hell you have got yourself into. EDUARDO
SALVIO, 19 year old forward from Argentine Club LANUS, has signed
with ATLETICO DE MADRID for the next 5 years.

This raises two questions (at least for SFS)
1. Doesn’t Atletico need defenders & not attackers?
2. Is this a sign that Salvio will be the replacement of Sergio Aguero
who many believe will be sold next year?

Either way, SFS welcomes the youngster to Atletico de Madrid &
wishes him all the best. SFS also hopes – as an Atletico supporter
– that he scores many goals & helps the Club stay out of the
relegation zone.

REAL MADRID: VAN NISTELROOY CLOSE TO STUTTGART

It’s not Stoke City, Tottenham, Liverpool nor West Ham, according
to the local sports daily "AS" the “scoop” is that the Club were
REAL MADRID Dutch forward RUUD VAN NISTELROOY will be
playing soon is STUTTGART.

The paper publishes that within the next 24-48 hours the German
Club will be negotiating to shut all the details (including the medical
exam) & take the Dutchman over to the Budesliga. The 33 year
old Real Madrid player finishes contract at the end of the season,
& without playing time sees his chances of going to the World
Cup in danger. The Spanish Club doesn’t wish to halt or be an
obstacle in Van Nistelrooy´s World Cup objective & has allowed
the player to leave before finishing his contract.

Having said this, it is not all over until the fat lady sings, although
this is a local journalist “scoop” the contract has still to be shut.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: MAXI RODRIGUEZ GOES TO LIVERPOOL FC

ATLETICO DE MADRID midfielder & Argentine International MAXI
RODRIGUEZ travelled to Liverpool today for a medical examination
to determine if the player was fit to sign for LIVERPOOL FC.

The 29 year old passed with “flying colours” to shut his transfer with
a 3 year contract. The player finishes contract with Atletico this
year & with the Spanish Club not wishing to renew Maxi Rodriguez
the players was free to negotiate & leaves without a transfer fee for
Liverpool FC (although rumour has it they may have paid AT.M 1.5M€).
Both Clubs agreed to allow the Argentine to finish prematurely his
duties at Atletico, seeing that the player had lost the confidence of
the current Atletico Coach Sanchez Flores.

Maxi returns to play with his ex team-mate Fernando Torres & joins
his fellow Argentine National team colleague Mascherano.

From SFS the only note to add is the sincere gratitude for the
years of loyal & professional service at Atletico & wishes him all

ATLETICO DE MADRID: TIAGO OFFICIALLY PRESENTED

ATLETICO DE MADRID presented today its new incorporation for the
rest of this season, the Portuguese midfielder THIAGO on loan from
Italian Club JUVENTUS. The player comes to help the Spanish Club
lift its game & strengthen a position in which Atletico is weak: a
creative player to set up its forwards.

Tiago comes after not finding a place at Juventus this season & hopes
to get regular play at Atletico to lift his chances to be included in the
Portugal Team for the upcoming World Cup.

Lastly, news is that Atletico de Madrid has finally come to an
agreement to sign Argentine forward & young promise Edurado
SALVIO from Argentine Club LANUS. The player is expected to travel
at the end of this week for the medical examinations & later to be
presented.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: JUVENTUS ALLOWS MOLINARO ON LOAN

ATLETICO DE MADRID has managed the loan for the rest of the
season of CRISTIAN MOLINARO, player under contract with Italian
team JUVENTUS. According the Spanish daily “AS”, the Italian
comes to help out in the “delicate” left back position, one of
few may I just add.

Atletico are still attempting to shut other possible players in the
“Winter Transfer Market”. FANNI from French team Rennes &
SALVIO from Argentine team Lanus are the targets according to
the press.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: LIVERPOOL FC TALKING WITH MAXI RODRIGUEZ?

The future of ATLETICO DE MADRID Argentine International MAXI
RODRIGUEZ is everywhere except at the Spanish Club. The last
weeks has been full of stories about possible transfers &/or loans to
JUVENTUS & BOCA JUNIORS. Now from England the story from
“The Times” informs that LIVERPOOL FC is also in talks with Club
& player.


















The news goes on to detail that two meetings have already taken
place & thus gives this all an “air” of seriousness & advances. The
Spanish Club needs money & the player needs playing time to
secure a place in the Argentine National Team for the upcoming
World Cup. However, from Atletico, they deny any offers & insist
that they wish to keep the player until the end of the season but
will not renew his contract. This later statement makes no sense as it
will be always better to get some money now than to allow the
player to leave “free” at the end of the season.

REAL MADRID: LIVERPOOL WISHES VAN NISTELROOY ON LOAN

Speculation is hot from England that LIVERPOOL FC is negotiating
with REAL MADRID the possible loan of Dutch forward RUUD VAN
NISTELROOY. One would suspect that Liverpool expects “a favour”
from the Spanish team after they managed to pull away their key
midfielder Xabi Alonso this season.

Liverpool Coach Benitez sees in Van Nistelrooy the prefect substitute
to Fernando Torres whose injuries are causing him to miss vital games,
apart from complementing if needed. The Dutchman has Premier
experience, has goal on his mind & wants desperately to play as to
assure a place on the Dutch National squad for the upcoming South
Africa World Cup.

The only obstacle said at this moment between Clubs is who will pay
the high salary that the Real Madrid player receives by contract. Real
Madrid wishes Liverpool to pay, something the English Club wishes

ATLETICO DE MADRID TALKING TO FANNI?

News from daily “AS” confirms that ATLETICO DE MADRID & player
ROD FANNI of French team RENNAIS STADE have been talking &
working towards a possible signing. The defensive right-back is said
to be “hyped-up” with the opportunity of playing in the Spanish Liga.

However, the players representative Dominique Six has expressed
that he thinks that it will difficult to see his player be allowed to
leave his Club this Winter & that there also exists competition from
Bayern, Tottenham, Man City & West Ham. This last point is the
typical comment to lift the transfer prices & thus increase commissions.
In any case, nothing is certain & this remains in the realm of speculation.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: MAXI RODRIGUEZ TO JUVENTUS? THE BEGINNING OF A PLAYERS EXODUS?

It was a matter of time that the exodus of star players would happen
in reference to ATLETICO DE MADRID. The principal reason is that
the Club needs cash after years of “deviating” funds for “alternative”
uses by its owners that now put Club debt at dangerous levels. The
other reason is that the team can no longer guarantee the ambitions
of top class players as titles & European presence is poor & limited.

News from Spanish daily “AS” reports that Italian Club JUVENTUS is
interested in Argentine International midfielder MAXI RODRIGUEZ,
news backed by Italian paper “Corriere dello Sport”. This time, as
opposed to other occasions that the Italians have come knocking, a
deal could effectively take place in the upcoming “Winter Transfer
Market”. The only obstacle one can see from Spain is the reaction
from the Atletico fan base that needs all the “quality” players
they currently have available to get Atletico out if its current
classification & season hole. The fans may react violently to see how
their team resources diminish with the threat of 2º Division
relegation hanging on the horizon. However, the Club may ride
the storm, the player may leave the ship & the Club deposit some
well needed funds.

Stay tuned for developments as this is only the beginning, as others
like Aguero, Forlan …etc, may soon decide to follow Maxi Rodriguez,
independently if the latter leaves now or at the end of the season.

PS. Another source places REAL MADRID midfield player GAGO as the
other option if MAXI fails for Juventus.

VAN NISTELROOY & BOJAN KRKIC RESPECTIVELY ON AC ROMA & ARSENAL AGENDAS?

Some interesting news coming out of the Spanish Sports Daily “AS”
in reference to the upcoming “Winter Transfer Market” comments
on two players that affect both Real Madrid & FC Barcelona.

Firstly, the REAL MADRID forward RUUD VAN NISTELROOY maybe
loaned to AC ROMA for free if we are to believe Italian daily
“Corriere dello Sport”. Secondly, that English Premier League Club
ARSENAL wishes to incorporate a forward & has set its sights now
on FC BARCELONA youngster BOJAN KRKIC if we are to believe
English paper “The Daily Star”, were earlier indications also placed
Van Nistelrooy as an option.

Van Nistelrooy has interest from Tottenham & was on Arsenal´s agenda
as well as the player only wishes to play, get European coverage &
secure a place in the Dutch International team for the upcoming World
Cup 2010. Arsenal looks at Bojan to fill the hole of injured Van Persie
& could offer 9M€ for the player. However, in this case FC Barcelona
may not sell at all & the player who is still young could be reluctant to
leave his home for foreign soil. The most probable solution & /or
option is a loan with a return trip ticket.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: THE CHELSEA DRUMS STILL SOUNDING FOR AGUERO

ATLETICO DE MADRID Argentine forward SERGIO AGÜERO must have
impressed CHELSEA FC in their last Champions League group match,
as news from England informs that the Premier League Club is
preparing a 45M€ offer for the “2010 Winter Transfer Market” that
opens the 1st of January for the forward.

The British paper “The Daily Telegraph” informs that Chelsea FC,
after having had the FIFA signing ban lifted, sees Aguero as a priority
to strengthen the team. So much so, that the paper goes on to inform
that Chelsea will meet with the representatives of Aguero, the IMG
firm, to discuss the terms that the player wishes, which is rumoured
to be around the 7M€/year salary mark. This sends the message that
Atletico de Madrid may have put Sergio Aguero on the market, even if
they claim that this news is totally false. Atletico could ask for a 50M€
transfer price to thus help the Club out of its tight economic situation.
The rumoured substitute for Aguero could be another Argentine,
SALVIO who Atletico has been following for sometime.

Having said this, these are all rumours & speculations at this point.
Let’s remember that Aguero would not be eligible to play in
Champions League with Chelsea FC if the above rumours were to
become true.

REAL MADRID: JUAN VARGAS THE LEFT BACK SOLUTION?

Marcelo, Drenthe nor Arbeloa satisfy & guarantee the left back position
which has been the place that opponents have exploited to "smash"
the REAL MADRID defence & score goals. It was evident in the Sevilla
FC, AC Milan & Alcorcon losses of late.














With this problem in need of urgent solution, Club Director General
Jorge Valdano may have a name, & the local media is publishing that
there are already contacts to sign FIORENTINA defender & Peru
International JUAN VARGAS. In fact, the Italian Club President
Mr.Corvino has acknowledged that Real Madrid is definately interested
in his player & may make a move in the upcoming "Winter Transfer
Market".

ATLETICO DE MADRID HAS INTEREST IN ARGENTINE DOMINIGUEZ

According to local paper “AS”, ATLETICO DE MADRID is interested
in the services of Argentine & RUBIN KAZAN (on loan from ZENIT)
forward CHORI DOMINIGUEZ. The player ends contract the 31st of
December & has been in contact with other Clubs – Espanyol,
Villareal & Mallorca – to resolve his future, thus Atletico must be
quick to shut things. One would suppose that negotiations will speed
up in the coming weeks.

ATLETICO DE MADRID: NICOLAS OTAMENDI & HUNTING FOR DEFENDERS

ATLETICO DE MADRID has sent its Football Director Garcia Pitarch
to South America to follow (spy) Argentina in its two World Cup
qualifiers. The main player on the list is 21 year old VELEZ central
defender NICOLAS OTAMENDI (below), although a defensive
winger is also a position that needs strengthening.

Other names (non Argentine) being thrown in the air are 21 year old
right back VAN DER WIEL, 27 year old Stade de Rennes player FANNI
& Arsenal player EBOUE. It is clear that Atletico will be active in the
upcoming “Winter Market” transfer window that opens the 1st of
January. This action should have occurred during the pre-season, but
as the saying goes better late than never. Let’s just hope that Atletico
is in a better shape on the classification table in January 2010 than
now & that the signing does turn out to really help out the Club & not
just becoming another nervous piece of a team fighting to stay out of
the relegation zone & possibly 2º Division. Let´s be optimistic.

VALENCIA CF: MANCHESTER UNITED THINKS ABOUT DAVID SILVA

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left MANCHESTER UNITED the team hasn´t
found that "extra" something that gives them the edge over their
opponents. It is obvious, you lose the current Best Player in The World,
but with the hugh injection of cash from the sale (94M€) there is room
to buy a suitable replacement.

English media have published that Man Utd. manager/coach Ferguson
has the ideal candidate, Spanish International & VALENCIA CF forward
DAVID SILVA.

The "plan" is to make a 28-30M€ offer to Valencia CF in the "Winter
Transfer Market" which opens the 1st of January 2010. Having
mentioned this the other rumour was that Man Utd would go after
the Brazilian Nº9 LUIS FABIANO of SEVILLA FC, & why not they
have the money right?

This in itself highlights certain "problems" at Man Utd that needs
fixing, like the over dependence on Rooney & that Berbatov is
not "working" out as planned. However, if this is all true & Man Utd
do in fact go after David Silvia, there are a few point to bear in
mind:

1. Does Silva wish to leave Spain for England?
2. Is 30M€ enough? Some would say his youth & class take him
to around 50M€
3. What makes Man Utd think they are the only Club interested in the
player? FC Barcelona is looking for someone like Silva, & what about
Real Madrid if Ribery decides to extend his contract at Bayern & stay.
4. Will Valencia CF want to sell its star? Apparently they are slowly
getting out of their "Financial hole".
