UEFA IDEAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TEAM 2016-2017

The IDEAL UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TEAM 2016/17 as chosen by the UEFA "Technical Team" of Football experts has been announce today.

Here is the Full list:

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) & Jan Oblak (At. Madrid)

Defenders: Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Marcelo (Real Madrid) & Diego Godin (Atletico de Madrid).

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Isco (Real Madrid), Miralem Pjanic (Juventus) & Tiemoué Bakayoko (Mónaco).

Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid CF), Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico de Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (Monaco) & Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich).

As one would expect a line-up full of Real Madrid CF players, apart from players from our Spanish Football teams as FC Barcelona & Atletico de Madrid. An indication of the supremacy of Spanish Football currently in Europe & Globally.

SPANISH LIGA IDEAL XI TEAM SEASON 2014 - 2015

The writers - "Football Experts" - of "La Liga" website have handed in their list of players that make up the "Ideal XI Liga Team" - plus Coach - for season 2014-2015. No surprise to see that the majority of players that make up the list are from Liga Champions FC Barcelona (up to 6 players).

Best Coach was named Luis Enrique of FC Barcelona. 

The full list of the LIGA IDEAL 11 TEAM :

Goalkeeper: Claudio Bravo (CHI/FC Barcelona).

Defenders: Dani Alves (BRA/Barcelona), Nicolás Otamendi (ARG/Valencia), Gerard Pique (F C Barcelona), Jordi Alba (FC Barcelona).

THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IDEAL 11 TEAM SELECTION FOR SEASON 2012 - 2013

The news source in itself could be debated if its reputable, English paper "The Sun" has released their "Ideal Champions League 11" for season 2012 - 2013". Apart from their choices - all top players - there is a stark contrast with the "Ideal 11" lists from last season. 

Firstly, the list is dominated by the German Clubs Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund, both which will meet tomorrow in London in the Champions League Final. Secondly, there is just one Spanish player & that is FC Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez. Thirdly, the Spanish Club with most players is Malaga FC with goalkeeper Willy Caballero & defender Welington.

You may have noticed that "The Sun" leaves out Lionel Messi, but puts in Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo who is currently the leading Champions League goal scorer for season 2012-2013.

Here is the full list of names:

Willy Caballero; Lahm, Dante, Weligton, Schmelzer; Xavi Hernandez, Schweinsteiger, Götze; Lewandowski, Yilmaz & Cristiano Ronaldo.

As with all lists of these type they cause debate & never satisfy all the Footy punters. However, interesting how it does illustrate to some exact the "changing of the guard" or "shift in the European Football power" from Spanish Football to Germany.

DE GEA - MATA INCLUDED IN THE ENGLISH PREMIER IDEAL 11

The "PFA" - Professional Football Association - of the English Premier League has voted their "Ideal 11" for season 2012- 2013. The distinction is great in that the voting comes from your peers in the "Best 11 of the English Premier League". 

The player most valued by his peers is Gareth Bale of Tottenham Hotspurs. This player as we all know is a Real Madrid CF target for next season. 

The good & proud news for Spanish Soccer - Football is the inclusion of two Spanish Football Players & Internationals doing their jobs in the English Premier League: David De Gea & Juan Mata.

Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea was voted by his peers as the "Best Goalkeeper" for season 2012-2013. Excellent distinction for a young player who started his career at Manchester United in a nervous & criticised fashion. The adaptation process was difficult for young De Gea who had to adapt his game & gain some muscle for English Football. The player has now overcome criticisms & gained the confidence of his Coach Ferguson to be a regular in the team. 

Second Spaniard is Juan Mata for Chelsea FC. His natural talent has never been questioned. The player just keeps evolving & getting better season after season to become a vital asset for his team. From a local perspective I believe Spanish Football Team Coach Del Bosque should take note & find a regular place on the Spanish Team for Mata.

THE UEFA IDEAL 11 PLAYERS FROM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 1ºst LEG Q/FINALS

Imagine you observed all of the Champions League 1ºst leg quarter-final games last Tuesday & Wednesday & was allowed to pick 11 players for your ideal team. That is what UEFA has done & has released their "Ideal 11" & here are the selected players:

Willy Caballero; Daniel Alves, Thiago Silva, Dante, Alaba; Gundogan, Xabi Alonso; Robben, Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo & Mandzukic

Impressive to say the least but if your a Spaniard unusual in that there is no Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Pique, Ramos, Ozil ... etc. & etc.  No alarms its only a list after the 1st leg games which may well change with the return 2º leg clashes next week.

Nice to see Goalkeeper Willy Cabellero of Malaga FC. The Argentine is having a marvellous season with Malaga & has really exploded on the European Football stage. He is a big part of the Malaga FC historical dream run. Other players from Spanish Football are Dani Alves ( FC Barcelona ) , the ever reliable Xabi Alonso ( Real Madrid ) & Cristiano Ronaldo ( Real Madrid ) currently the Champions League top goalscorer.

Imagine selecting these 11 names for free & putting up your own team. Would be a marvel to watch.

EURO 2008 DREAM TEAM 11: SIX SPANIARDS VOTED

FIFA.com put the question: "...vote your Ideal Team 11 of EURO
2008". The Internet then did the rest, picking up the votes from
around the globe, the result, six Spaniards included in the "Ideal
Euro 2008 Team 11".
