SPANISH CUP FINAL | SEVILLA FC 0 FC BARCELONA 5

FC BARCELONA has defeated SEVILLA FC 0 - 5 in tonight's SPANISH CUP FINAL played in the Spanish Capital Madrid. Its the 4th straight Spanish Cup title for Barça & their 30th in total. It was also a special night for ANDRES INIESTA who will leave Spanish Football & FC Barcelona at the end of the season for presumably Chinese Football with a mega offer. Not only did the Barça Captain put in a magnificent performance but also scored a marvellous goal to finish off a perfect night.

Spanish Cup Final vs Sevilla FC 2018

The match was one sided most of the night with Barcelona clearly dominating in all areas. The Catalan Club had virtually shut the Final by the end of the 1º st half when they were already up 0 - 3. Sevilla FC just did not find their Football or the groove & went from Ok to less as Barça scored their goals. Difficult night for Sevilla & their many accompanying fans.

Here are all the goalscorers:

  • Luis Suarez 13th min
  • Messi 31st min
  • Luis Suarez 40st min
  • Andres Iniesta
  • Coutinho penalty 69th min
Outstanding performances from Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta , Messi & Coutinho, as with the rest of the Barça outfit.

As for Sevilla FC they were outplayed, & basically taken out of the game.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | REAL MADRID QUALIFIES WHILE SEVILLA FC ELIMINATED

The two remaining Spanish Clubs had UEFA Champions League duties tonight with mixed results. REAL MADRID managed a "miracle" & controversial "back from the dead" result with a last minute goal that puts them into the semi-finals, while SEVILLA FC went down fighting & putting in an excellent performance away which was not enough.

Real Madrid - Juventus

However, the main news is in Madrid in the "Santiago Bernabeu Stadium" with JUVENTUS winning 3 - 1 but being eliminated through the 4 - 3 overall aggregate result in favour of Real Madrid. A last play, last minute penalty on Lucas Vazquez allowed CRISTIANO RONALDO to score in the 93rd min to put REAL MADRID INTO SEMI-FINALS.

A disputed penalty which saw Buffon receive a direct RED CARD for protesting & the Italians claiming foul play. However, the replay shows that the Juventus defender made a foul when Vazquez was in a goal occasion & thus a correctly given penalty. This will obviously be debated & heavily disputed by Juventus, by Italian media & fans, but the Italians sinned with too many fouls the last 15 minutes & the Ronaldo header to the path of Vazquez was "majestic" creating the goal opportunity from nowhere. Real Madrid was facing extra time needing 3 goals to win (or penalties), while Juventus only needed a solitary goal...the balance tipped Real Madrid´s way.

Real Madrid Champions League

The game started badly for REAL MADRID with 2nd minute goal by MANDZUKIC. This opened up the possibility of  a comeback in the style of AC Roma yesterday against FC BARCELONA. The Italians utilized the some tactics, choke with intense pressure the Real Madrid play makers & it worked. Real Madrid never felt comfortable all night & Juventus grew in moral as the match when on. The second Juventus goal came in the 37th min in the exact style as the first, a header by MANDZUKIC in the far post. A nightmare was beginning to happen & the danger of a surprise result was in the air.

real madrid wins juventus

Real Madrid Coach Zidane took off Casemiro & Gareth Bale to start the second half with Lucas Vazquez & Asensio. More speed was needed down the wings & it looked as if it was under control until the 60th min. Here Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas failed to totally secure a flighted ball that MATUIDI connected & scored for Juventus. This broke all the plans for Real Madrid as now a solitary goal by Juventus would need two from Real Madrid just to stay in the tie. And by the way they were playing Real Madrid did not look like scoring. It was panic stage for the locals, nerves of steal time for both & very, very careful Football.

Juventus defended with tooth & nails, looking to get the extra-time (30 more minutes) to get their needed goal, while Real Madrid´s only hope was a goal within the regulatory time & avoid receiving one from Juventus before the final whistle. It went to the wire, last minute of the match, CRISTIANO RONALDO flew for a header that he placed in the path of Lucas Vazquez who was fouled in the goal square, penalty!

The Italian reactions was expected, Buffon sent off, Italians shouting injustice & game manipulation. While "craziness" took over, Cristiano Ronaldo kept away & meditated his penalty & the need to score to qualify Real Madrid for semis. When the dust settled CRISTIANO RONALDO scored the winner in the 93rd (98th min) to shut the Juventus comeback attempt & wake up Real Madrid from this nightmare.

An incredible match, nerves at 100% with a nail biting finish that will be debated all week. But Real Madrid in the end qualify.

Champions League

The 2 - 1 victory away by BAYERN MUNICH was enough to get them into the semis of Champions League after drawing 0 - 0 with SEVILLA FC in Munich.  Sevilla leaves the competition with their heads high after showing a brave & competitive performance tonight that had their controversial moments.

A possible penalty not called in favour of Sevilla FC will be debated & a red card to Sevilla FC which illustrated the intensity played. But the German with much more experience sailed the storm & managed to win the quarter-final tie with a 2 - 1 favourable aggregate.

The four teams left in Champions are Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool FC & AC Roma.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | MIXED RESULTS FOR SPANISH CLUBS

Two Spanish Clubs were down tonight for CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 1º leg Quarter Final matches with mixed results. Here is a brief summary of events along with final results & all the goalscorers.

juventus vs real madrid champions league 2018

REAL MADRID defeated JUVENTUS 0 - 3 away to take a healthy & very advantageous situation back to Madrid for the 2º leg return match. Real Madrid was superior even when Juventus has pressuring upfront & creating goal chances in the 1º st half. However, Real Madrid turned the game totally around in the 2º half with CRISTIANO RONALDO doing some magic & the red card (second yellow) to DYBALA which left Juventus at a serious numerical disadvantage.

Real Madrid hit the bar twice ( Kroos & Kovacic) & missed some other great opportunities, while Juventus had some "killer" opportunities in front of goal in the 1º st half that Real Madrid goalkeeper Kaylor Navas stopped in tremendous fashion.

juventus vs real madrid

But the differential factor tonight was again CRISTIANO RONALDO who since has changed position to Centre Forward & adapted his style has become a total "goal scoring machine". Perhaps at this moment CR7 is the most inform, effective & lethal player in the goal square on the Planet. The Portuguese forward put Real Madrid in front in the 3rd min with a flick-touch from an Isco wing pass that silenced the Italians. Juventus reacted with grit & spirit to regain their stance & created many interesting & close goal opportunities. The Italians could not convert their chances while the Real Madrid defence with their goalkeeper did their job to minimise the possible damage.

But in the 2º nd half while Juventus was still pounding away at the Spanish defensive line a counter-attack by Real Madrid gave witness to an incredible overhead goal from CRISTIANO RONALDO in the 64th min that sank the Italian moral. The frustration was transferred onto midfielder Dybala who was sent off with a second yellow card & sank further the Italian endeavour to stay floating. It was not long after that Real Madrid found their third goal through MARCELO in the 72nd min to virtually shut things for tonight. Juventus managed to pull from spirit to attempt to find at least a goal but was foiled by Real Madrid defence & goalkeeper again.

Excellent win away to Real Madrid which will lift their confidence levels further.

Champions League 2018

SEVILLA FC lost 1 - 2 to BAYERN MUNICH in a historic night for the Spanish Club in Champions League. Sevilla played well especially the 1º st half but was unlucky with the two German goals while Bayern pulled from their much greater experience in this competition. The Bayern Munich quality players came to light in the critical moments of the match to steer them onto victory & with two important away goals.

Sevilla got ahead first in the 32nd min when SARABIA scored but Bayern Munich managed the equalizer in the 37th min when Sevilla winger JESUS NAVAS managed an own goal. The Germans maintained the calm & withstood the Spanish pressure until THIAGO scored the second & definite goal for the Germans in the 68th min.

Sevilla will travel to Munich for the return match with hopes still active but at some disadvantage. Not all is lost.

Tomorrow the remaining Spanish Club in Champions League FC BARECLONA will play AC ROMA at the "Camp Nou".

SEVILLA FC ELIMINATES MANCHESTER UNITED 1 - 2 FROM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Spanish Football Club SEVILLA FC has eliminated MANCHESTER UNITED from Champions League after winning at "Old Trafford" 1 - 2 ( 2-1 aggregate). Historical moment for the Spaniards; the last time they were in quarter-finals of the "European Cup" was 60 years ago.

Man Utd. - Sevilla FC

Deserved victory for Sevilla FC after displaying more Football than the English team. The locals were very physical the first half looking to get ahead first early. They created chances but were neutralized by a very concentrated Sevilla FC defence. The visitors also had their opportunities via an active Correa, but Manchester United was solid under pressure. Even the first 45 minutes.

The 2º half went to Sevilla FC, as Manchester United dropped their surveillance on Sevilla FC Argentine International midfielder Benega who began comfortably distributing & creating play for his team. Both side began refreshing their squads with changes ( Pogba in for M. Utd) & BEN YADDER for Sevilla FC. This last player turned the match around scoring two quick goals in the 74th & 78th min.

Manchester United attempted to react & nearly pulled it off, with Lukaku missing a sitter in the 82nd min but scoring a goal in the 84th min. Sevilla had another clear chance but De Gea stopped Ben Yadder. In the end Sevilla FC held on & qualified for the next round of Champions.

Tomorrow another Spanish - English Clubs clash when Chelsea FC visits "Camp Nou" to play FC Barcelona.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | SEVILLA FC 0 MANCHESTER UNITED 0

UEFA Champions League action continued tonight with SEVILLA FC hosting MANCHESTER UNITED. The final result a 0 - 0 draw with the tie to be determined back at "Old Trafford" in the return 2º leg match.

Sevilla FC - Manchester United

Sevilla FC smashed into Spanish International & Manchester United goalkeeper DAVID DE GEA. Man of the match & saviour of United as he stopped everything, including a point blank opportunity by Sevilla player Muriel in the 1ºst half. De Gea put on a show of reflexes & saves that was nearly unbelievable had one not actually witnessed.

To add some stats, Sevilla had 25 goals shots (8 at goal) compared to United which only had 6 ( 1 at goal). Sevilla had 12 corners & Man Utd only 4 corners. The Spanish team dominated the encuentre.

Sevilla FC - Manchester United

This game should have been won, & well won, by Sevilla FC. However they failed to convert their goal opportunities & smashed into an "inspired" De Gea who saved Manchester United. The English team survives to fight again, & given the circumstances, are still well alive to take the tie. That´s Mourinho for you.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | REAL MADRID - SEVILLA FC WIN

UEFA Champions League Group games tonight with Real Madrid & Sevilla FC in action. Both Spanish Football Clubs have finished with positive results in entertaining European Football matches.

Dortmund vs Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund hosted Real Madrid & lost 1 - 3 in a highly entertaining match. Both teams created numerous goal scoring occasions in end to end palys, but Real Madrid was more effective in converting their opportunities. Plus the Real Madrid defence with a brilliant Varane & solid Nacho & Ramos held out the German attacks which were constant & dangerous in the second half.

Borussia has plenty of upfront fire power with an active & dangerous Aubameyang who scored their only goal in the 54th min. But their weakness is their defensive line which is relatively slow & Real Madrid exploited with counter-attacks the open spaces. Plus Real Madrid dominated the midfield most of the match with 4 players vs 3 of the Germans.

There were controversial moments, like a possible hand-ball by Ramos on the goal line early in the match or a possible penalty on Bale in the second half. Said this Real Madrid rightly deserved & earned the victory on a ground they have never won on until tonight.

Dortmund vs Real Madrid

Gareth Bale shook off criticism & won some confidence with a spectacular 18th min volley goal from a Carvajal pass. The Welshman then gave a deadly pass in the 50th min that Cristiano Ronaldo converted into goal breaking his "dry spell". The Portuguese player later scored his second in the 79th min from a Modric pass & counter-attack that was riffled home.

Great match from Casemiro a lifesaver, Kroos with his vision & Modric who was outstanding.

Sevilla vs Maribor

Sevilla FC hosted Maribor & won 3 - 0. Sevilla striker BEN YEDDER got a HAT-TRICK scoring in the 27th, 38th & 83rd min to give his team the three points tonight. Relative "easy" night for Sevilla with great performances from Correa & Franco Vazquez.

Tomorrow night Champions League continues with FC Barcelona & Atletico de Madrid in action in their respective Group encounters.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | SEVILLA FC ELIMINATED BY LEICESTER CITY

UEFA Champions League Football was back tonight with Spanish Football Club Sevilla FC being eliminated by Leicester City. Sevilla FC took with them over to England a 2 -1 aggregate lead & watched how that was overturned 3 - 2 aggregate in favour of the English.

The final score tonight was Leicester City 2 - Sevilla FC 0 with the latter down to 10 men after Nasri fell to a Vardy provoking trap to see a second yellow & a red card (73rd min). Pretty stupid, & undisciplined by Nasri for falling to the oldest trick in the book. Left his team in disadvantage just when Sevilla FC was close to scoring a goal away to force extra-time

Sevilla FC Leicester City

But there is more. Sevilla player Escudero hit the bar while Nzonzi missed a penalty in the latter part of the second half (78th min). To add salt to the Sevilla wound Coach Sampoali was sent off as well. Overall a disastrous night for the Spaniards which ends their European Championship League run.

Leicester City played to their strengthens, quick counter-attacks with excellent finishing. Add some physical power & determination & there you have it. The goal scores were Wes Morgan in the 27th min & Albrighton in the 54th min

Deserved win by Leicester City as they earned themselves the Q/finals qualification, helped on by the auto-destruct attitude of Sevilla FC.

SPANISH FOOTBALL | UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RESULTS

UEFA Champions League night with two Spanish Football Clubs scheduled with Group qualifiers. Here is a brief summary of both teams, along with the goalscorers & final results.

Real Madrid Champions League

Real Madrid hosted Polish Club Legla of Warsaw & won 5 - 1. A good result with moments of ordinary & slack play by the Spaniards. The Real defence was stretched & stressed by the Poles during periods as the more offensive Real Madrid midfield ( Asensio / James Rodriguez) set up tonight tore the midfield in half to give Legla spaces. The mentioned midfielders are not accustomed to defending in block & at times left wide open Toni Kroos.

Coach Zidane "fixed" this mid 2º half with Lucas Vazquez & Morata coming on when Real Madrid was most suffering.

But Real Madrid has more stars & World Class players which were enough to defeat an enthusiastic but average Polish team. Legla created chances but did not finish with their only goal a penalty from a "silly" Danilo tackled.

Here are how the goals fell:

1-0 Bale (16')
2-0 Jodlowiec (o.g.)(19')
2-1 Radovic (21')
3-1 Asensio (37')
4-1 Lucas Vázquez (68')
5-1 Morata (84')

Cristiano Ronaldo had a terrible night ( relatively ) with goal, missing some clear chances. But tonight his big achievement were his assists - up to 3 - which at a collective level is excellent.

Uefa Champions League Sevilla FC

Excellent win by Sevilla FC 0 - 1 away to Dynamo Zagreb. The Spaniards were superior to the Croatian team who looked good at the latter part of the encounter.

On loan player Nasri was the star tonight scoring the winner in the 31st min. The problematic player appears to be finding a "new opportunity" with Sevilla which is good news.

Vietto missed a clear opportunity for Sevilla for the 2º goal. Sevilla is close to securing next phase Champions League qualification.

SPANISH FOOTBALL | CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TUESDAY RESULTS

UEFA Champions League games with two Spanish Football Clubs in action with Group duties. Here are all of the corresponding final results of the Spanish Clubs along with the goalscorers.

Spanish Football

German territory is traditionally not an easy destiny for Spanish Football Clubs in the way of results. Real Madrid has always found it stiff in their visit with tonight being no different. The final result Borussia Dortmund 2 - Real Madrid 2, a just result with the Germans being very awkward & solid.

Real Madrid has some important players out of form. Karim Benzema should have not played at all - terrible - with Morata a better option. Although Cristiano Ronaldo scored he is below his usual best & was so & so. Sergio Ramos has to do more work as he made some elementary mistakes tonight which are unacceptable.
Best players for Real Madrid was goalkeeper Keylor Navas, even if the first Dortmund goal was his fault with a bad punch-out, along with Modric who was outstanding with Toni Kroos & defender/goalscorer Varane

For Borussia a good team effort, very quick & dangerous in their attacks. Castro was active, Dembele dangerous, Ambameyang had goal in his mind & substitute Schurrle drove in the late equalizer. The German will be happy with their effort & the result.

Real Madrid experience their 3rd draw result in a row. Disappointing from their perspective, too many mistakes from key players & some stars should not be playing at all with other more capable on the bench. Said this, how do you sit Ronaldo?

Goals:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo 17th min, 0 - 1
  • Ambameyang 43rd min, 1 - 1
  • Varane 69th min, 1 - 2
  • Schurrle 86th min, 2 -2
Champions League

Sevilla FC turned on a great 2º half to win 1 - 0 French Club Olympique Lyon. Bad first half from Sevilla with their crowd booing them off. However, things changed in the 2º half.

Sevilla opener & winner came in the 52 min through Ben Yedder. Later Sevilla FC missed a penalty that Vietto flew over the bar. Lyon hit the post to add excitement & the end become a see-saw event.

Sevilla held out with true courage. Great result for them.

Tomorrow Champions League continues with the remaining two other Spanish Football Clubs in action: Atletico de Madrid (Bayern Munich) & FC Barcelona ( B.Mglad).

SEVILLA 0 FC BARCELONA 2 | 1º LEG SPANISH SUPER CUP RESULT

The Spanish Football season kicked off tonight with the 1º leg of the Spanish SuperCup between Sevilla FC & FC Barcelona. Although Sevilla has had more playing moments over Barça coming up  into this match, the final result Sevilla FC 0 - FC Barcelona 2 was a surprise.

Spanish SuperCup 2016

A surprise because many put a high degree of confidence towards all the new Sevilla FC signings & especially the "new" playing methods of new Sevilla FC Argentinian Coach Sampaoli. The new Coach promised more intensity along with more playing Football, but both goals from Barça came from precision counter-attacks.

Although Sevilla was intense, very on top of Barça halting their habitual style of Football, two counters broke Sevilla in half. The first a brilliant Denis Suarez pass to Arda Turan in the square who chested the ball into the path of Luis Suarez in the 53rd min who scored.

Spanish SuperCup 2016

The second goal came from Barça substitute Munir in the 84th min from a precision Lionel Messi pass.

Two away goals which makes it very difficult for Sevilla to be able to turn the result around at the "Camp Nou" Stadium in the 2º nd leg match. The bad news for Barça was the injury to Mathieu & Iniesta.

REAL MADRID 3 - SEVILLA 2 | UEFA SUPERCUP FINAL RESULT

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla FC 3 - 2 after extra-time to win the UEFA SuperCup Final. First major European Trophy the new 2016-2017 season that signals the beginning of competitions that matches up the winner of the Champions League against the winner of the UEFA Cup.

SuperCup Real Madrid - Sevilla FC

The starting line-ups were:

Real Madrid CF
Casilla; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Kovacic, Casemiro, Isco; Lucas Vázquez, Asensio & Alvaro Morata.

Sevilla FC
Sergio Rico, Mariano, Pareja, Carriço, Kolo; N'Zonzi, Iborra, Kiyotake; Vitolo, Fran Vazquez & Vietto.

Goals:

1 - 0 Marco Asensio 21 m

1 - 1 Fran Vazquez 41 m

1 - 2 Yevhen Konoplyanka (penalty) 72 m

2 - 2 Sergio Ramos 93 m

3 - 2 Dani Carvajal 118 m

SuperCup Real Madrid - Sevilla FC

A match that went from ordinary to exciting as extra-time again played a role as protagonist. Sevilla FC had the match virtually won with a minute left, but once again Sergio Ramos equalized in the last moment to keep Real Madrid alive with a header.

SuperCup Real Madrid - Sevilla FC

The extra-time was stiff for Sevilla as they lost Kolo to a red card & the tiredness began to creep into their game. The Real Madrid substitutes Benzema, Modric & James began to show their fresh legs & created opportunities that Sevilla goalie Rico had to continually save.

But a magnificent run down the flank & into the goal area by Dani Carvajal turned into a goal & the winner that sealed the title for Real Madrid.

Third UEFA SuperCup for Real Madrid which is a good start while the wait to recover Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, Kross & Pepe ... for the start of La Liga.

AT MADRID | GAMEIRO VERY CLOSE

Everything indicates that French International & Sevilla FC forward KEVIN GAMEIRO will be heading for Atletico de Madrid. The catalyst occurred days back when At. Madrid agreed to loan-out of their young Argentine forward Vietto, which indicated it was a "gesture".

At Madrid

The negotiations between Sevilla FC & Atletico are down to the forms of payment. Sevilla FC wants to get as close as possible to the contract release figure of 40M€, while Atletico offers 30M€ plus 5M€ more in variables.

It is the typical case of pull & loosen negotiations which is destined more sooner than later to finish in good port. There is some "controversy" between Atletico fans with the age of Gameiro, 29 years, which puts doubts on the price tag. However, the Frenchman has shown over the seasons with Sevilla that he is a fine goalscorer whose game fits in with the At. Madrid way of Football: counter-attack with sacrifice.

Stay tuned!

SEVILLA FC SIGNS BRAZILIAN GANSO

Spanish Football Club Sevilla FC has paid 10M€ for Brazilian International Ganso.

The new Liga signing Ganso of 26 years of age midfielder is an express request from new Chilean Coach Sampaoli. In his long career in Brazil he has played 87 matches for Santos: where he has scored 15 goals and with 19 assists, while he has played 221 games for Sao Paulo: with 24 goals and 49 assists.

New Sevilla FC player

It is the 6th signing by Sevilla FC for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Ganso will travel soon to Sevilla to pass all the compulsory medical tests and sign with his new Club, to later join the team in the 'pre-season stage' in Germany.

Paulo Henrique Ganso, signs a five-year contract with Sevilla FC.

SEVILLA FC | KRYCHOWIAK OFF TO PARIS ST GERMAIN

Spanish & new Coach of Paris St Germain Unai Emery has already "fished" in his ex-Club Sevilla FC. Polish Imternational & Sevilla FC midfielder Krychowiak is virtually a Paris St Germain player for next season. The Clubs have to make it all official but its been commented by Football press as a done deal.

Spain Football

The deal is 26M€ a profit as Sevilla FC bought the midfielder for 5€ two seasons back. The Sevilla fan-base are not happy at all, but the Spanish Football Club is following the recommendations of their new Coach Chilean Sampaoli who prefieres another profile like Argentine Kranevitter, the latter from At. Madrid currently in negotiations.

SPANISH CUP FINAL | FC BARCELONA 2 SEVILLA FC 0

FC Barcelona has won the Spanish Cup Final 2 - 0 against Sevilla FC & after extra-time. Intense Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey - Final that had 3 red cards ( 1 for Barça & 2 Sevilla FC) & which also had Barça on the ropes up to the 91st min, to see them manage to turn the Final around.

Its the 28th Spanish Cup title in the history of Barça which they adds to the Liga title for season 2015-2106

FC Barcelona - Sevilla FC

Sevilla FC had everything in their favour when in the 36th min Mascherano received a red card for fouling Gameiro. With Barça down to 10 men Sevilla took over the match. Things got even worst for Barça when Luis Suarez was taken off with a muscle injury. Everything was in favour of Sevilla but Barcelona held tight.

Spanish Cup Final 2016

Sevilla sinned in missing their opportunities & paid dearly for it later. With Iniesta, Messi, Pique & Neymar holding things together, & later taking things further, Barça turned things around. The 91 st min the red card to Sevilla FC player Banegas also swayed things back to Barcelona´s way as the match went into extra-time.

FC Barcelona scored in the 97th min via Jordi Alba, & later Neymar scored the sealer in the 122th min to give FC Barcelona the Spanish Cup Title

Sevilla received another red card just before the Neymar goal to illustrate the decline of their Football from the Banegas red card.

A suffered & worked victory for Barça that shuts their Football season with two titles

Congratulations to FC Barcelona.

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE | SEVILLA FC CHAMPIONS

Spanish Football Club Sevilla FC won its 3rd consecutive UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE Final & its 5th Europa League Championship after defeating English Club Liverpool 1 - 3 tonight. Extraordinary feat for any Club & maintains Spanish Football at the top of the European Football powers.

Uefa Final 2016

The Final in Basilea had two parts, the first half went to Liverpool FC which opened the scoring through Sturridge in the 35th min, while the 2º half was for Sevilla FC which scored three goals. The moment that broken the game in favour of the Spaniards was the "psychlogical" goal scored in the 46th min by Gamiero who equalized for Sevilla FC.

Sevilla FC Uefa 2016

The equalizer lifted the spirits of the Spaniards, while doubts came into the minds of the English side. Slowly Sevilla FC took control through their ever-present & influential midfielder Banega, & began to create goal opportunities.

Sevilla FC Captain Coke then became protagonist scoring in the 64th min & again in the 70th min to take his team onward. The rest of the match had the Spaniards controlling things & keeping Liverpool FC at bay & away from danger.

Congratulations to Liverpool for being a worthy finalist & Sevilla FC for another European Title.

FINAL RESULTS WEDNESDAY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAMS

Three Spanish Football Clubs had Champions League Group game duties, with the following final results & goalscorers.

Champions League 2015

Paris St Germain hosted Real Madrid for their Group A match. Good moment for PSG to try & defeat Real Madrid which went to Paris without a handful of injured stars. However, the French did not really convinced at all & while Real Madrid tried in their part they failed to turn opportunities into goals.

The 0 - 0 final result was correct as Real Madrid won the first half, while PSG was better in the 2º half. Very tactical game with the return match perhaps on the mind of a few, especially Real Madrid Coach Benitez who will possibly recover players like Benzema & perhaps Bale or even James Rodriguez.

Shared points with both teams having little to be sad about.

Champions League 2015

Atletico de Madrid hosted Astana in their Group C match which they won 4 - 0. Basically a "walk in the park" for the Spanish team which allowed players like Jackson Martinez, Saul & Oliver a run & show their stuff. In fact they all scored tonight :
  • Saul 22nd min, 1 - 0
  • J Martinez 29th min, 2 - 0
  • Oliver Torres 69th min, 3 - 0
  • Dedechko (own goal ) 89th min, 4 - 0
Great result which consolidates Group top spot for Atletico.

Champions League 2015

Manchester City managed a last minute goal from De Bruyne to give the English Club a 2 -1 victory over Sevilla FC in their Group D match. Sevilla FC scored first in the 30th min through Konoplyanka but Wilford equalized for City in the 36th min.

Punch for punch thereafter with Sevilla perhaps sinning in the end for being conservative & defending more which allowed & handed over the initiative to Manchester City. The risk of this tactic materialized when City scored in the last moments to grab the victory.

Step backwards for Sevilla in their European quest.

SPANISH FOOTBALL | CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY GROUPS RESULTS

UEFA Champions League Group matches continued tonight with three Spanish Football Clubs in action. Here are the final results & all the goalscorers.

champions league 2015

Real Madrid travelled to Sweden for their Group A match against Malmo. The Spanish Club started with the following 11:

Keylor Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Arbeloa; Toni Kroos, Casemiro; Kovacic, Benzema, Isco; & Cristiano Ronaldo,

Coach Benitez giving Marcelo & Modric a rest.

The final result was a 0 - 2 victory to Real Madrid with  Malmo down to 10 men after the 80th min. A "grey" performance from Real Madrid with Malmo creating chances but unfortunately for them ineffective in the definition.  The two goals came from Cristiano Ronaldo - 28th min & 90th min - breaking the Champions League goalscoring record of ex-Real Madrid Raul. The Portuguese is on the verge as well of overatking Raul as the highest goalscorer in the History of Real Madrid.

The game turned towards the Spaniards when Malmo lost a man to a red card & substitute Lucas "shook things" & gave the pass for the final CR7 goal.

Objective, the win & the three points achieved without real fanfare.

champions league 2015 at.madrid

Atletico de Madrid started with the follow 11:

Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Filipe Luis; Gabi, Tiago; Antoine Griezmann, Oliver, Correa; & Jackson Martinez,

for their Group C match against Benfica

The final result a 1 - 2 win to Benfica & deserved. The Spaniards started well & got ahead through Correa in the 29th min, but Benefica fought back & equalized in the 38th min through Gaitan

Benfica then continued with their good Football & the second came through Guides in the 51st min. Atletico de Madrid then made chances to lift their performance & attacked more looking for the equalizer but Benfica stood firm to grab an important victory away from home & the three points.

Atletico are not looking sharp this season & in La Liga they show similar signs of lack of creativity in the midfield to serve their forwards. Too vertical & becoming predictable, which Benfica managed to disarmed them tonight. Bad game from Atletico.

champions league 2015

Sevilla FC travelled to Italy for the Group D match & started with the following 11:

Sergio Rico; Coke, Andreolli, Kolo, Tremoulinas; Krychowiak, N´zonzi; Reyes, Krohn-Delhi, Konoplyanka; & Gameiro,

However lost 2 - 0 to Juventus FC.

Sevilla was "invisible", headlines from Spanish Sports media after the 90 mins. The goals for Juventus came from Spaniard Morata with a header in the 41st min & Zaza in the 86th min. Sevilla did not shot at the Juventus goal , they were totally neutralized.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TUESDAY RESULTS | SPANISH FOOTBALL CLUBS

Three Spanish Football Clubs had UEFA Champions League Group duty tonight: Real Madrid CF, At. Madrid & Sevilla FC. Here are all the final results along with all the goalscorers.

Real Madrid CF 2015

Real Madrid hosted Shakhtar Donetsk in their Group A match & won 4 - 0. An entertaining match that saw a good Shakhtar touching well the ball & keeping possession making Real Madrid work hard. Although Real Madrid - or Cristiano Ronaldo - did all the damage in the 2º half, the Ukrainians did well until a goalie mistake, some bad luck - a NO penalty - & a red card that left Shakhtar down to 10 men, allowing the Spaniards to take over.

The win may be costly for Real Madrid as three players had to be substituted due to injuries & knocks. Gareth Bale felt a calf muscle pitch, Varane a cut in the shin & Ramos fell awkwardly on his shoulder & went off.

Said this, the headline will say "Cristiano Ronaldo HAT-TRICK", remembering last weekend he scored 5 goals. Agree two were from penalty & the first a NO penalty from defender Serna, but he did convert & later score a header. Tomorrow everyone will remember the 3 goal from CR7. Lastly, great game from Marcelo & Benzema scoring tonight & missing 2 sitters, but did some excellent things.

Shakhtar although playing well & showing good ways did not really trouble Real Madrid goalkeeper Navas, & when they did, the Real defence solved or Navas did  a great save. By the way, another match with the Real Madrid goal intact, showing good defensive discipline.

Goalscorers tonight;
  • Benzema 29th min
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (penalty) 56th min
  • Cristiano Ronaldo (penalty) 63rd min
  • Cristiano Ronaldo 80 th min
At Madrid 2015

Atletico de Madrid travelled to a complicated field the home of Istambul Galatasaray for their Group C match which they won 0 - 2. Very different At.Madrid from Liga last weekend with Siquiera, Saul, Vietto & Jackson in the starting line-up.

However it was young French International Griezmann who took the spotlight with two goals tonight - 18th min & 25th min - to set the course for the Spaniards & secure the victory & the three points tonight.

Galatasaray showed a less than expected image in front of their home crowd & was somewhat disappointing.

Sevilla FC 2015

Dream night for Sevilla FC with their Group D Champions League game against Borussia Monchengladbach after being absent 6 years.  The Spaniards won the Germans 3 - 0 & with two penalties converted (missed another). The goalscorers were:
  • Banega (penalty) 46th min
  • Gameiro (penalty) 65th min
  • Konoplyanka 83th min.
Everyone happy at Sevilla FC with the victory & with the team lifting form after coming in from Spanish Liga with doubts.

Tomorrow more Champions League games with FC Barcelona & Valencia CF in action with their Group duties.

After weeks of speculation, Spanish & Juventus FC forward Fernando Llorente returns to Spanish Football. Spanish press has announced that Sevilla FC will be the new home of Llorente for the next three seasons after a 10M€ transfer deal (other sources say that his transfer is at zero cost ) with the Italian Club according to Italian media. The terms of payment is delaying the official Club announcement but everyone takes it as a formality & a done deal.

Sevilla FC get themselves a top notch forward to replace Carlos Bacca who signed for AC Milan.
