SPANISH FOOTBALL TRANSFER RUMOURS & GOSSIP 2008

As the season comes slowly to its end, the transfer market heats
up along with all the rumours, gossip & at times outright lies. The
Football World moves millions & there are powerful interests in the
day to day running of the "Business". Here are a few stories coming
out of the Spanish transfer market - you can believe them or not!

As SFS posted a few days ago, INTER MILAN star forward
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC apparently offered himself to REAL
MADRID, as the player wishes to leave his current club. Sp.
daily "Sport" publish today that Real Madrid looks favourably at

the chance & could put its current star forward VAN
NISTELROOY
into the "hypothetical" operation. The daily also

adds that Chelsea forward DIDIER DROGBA has negotiations
advanced with Real & is in the front running over Ibrahimovic.

News from England via its daily "Evening Standard", which is
picked
up also in "Sport", mention that Spanish Manager Juande of
TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS has FC BARCELONA striker
SAMUEL ETO´O as his Nº1 priority for next season. The English
club is willing to put into the operation its Bulgarian forward
DIMITAR BERBATOV.
However, SFS feels that this is a desire that will not come true. SFS can

safely speculate that neither Eto´o nor Barça will want this option, at this
moment.

Ex- Real Madrid player & now ALMERIA forward NEGREDO

has had a fantastic season & has caught the attention of the big
clubs. Real Madrid has a buy back option, that if they do not
exercise will leave open the player for other clubs.
One of those clubs waiting is ATLETICO DE MADRID who see

the forward as a perfect complement for Forlan & Aguero for
next season, according to Sp.daily "AS".
Said this, Atletico has been searching the market for sometime &
have various possibilties for the forward position, Negredo is just

another.

Staying at ATLETICO DE MADRID, the news from England is
that CHELSEA FC is willing to "fork out" the 55M€ needed to pay

SERGIO AGUERO´s release clause.
SFS can assure that Sergio Aguero is not going anywhere & that
Atletico is not selling. What will need to happen is that the Spanish
Club will have to improve the player´s economic conditions & lift
the contract release cause. As we all know, what is white today is

black tomorrow in Football.

A few months back, SFS posted that REAL MADRID was following
very closely 19 year old NEW YORK RED BULLS star forward
JOZY ALTIDORE. Today Sp. daily "AS" publish that VILLAREAL
is seriously considering the young player for next season. Stay tuned!

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: MANCHESTER UNITED GOES INTO THE EUROPEAN CUP FINAL

The one goal needed by FC BARCELONA just did not come &
with the goal scored by MANCHESTER UNITED it was enough

to put the English team into the final of the EUROPEAN CUP.
The 1-0 scoreline was minimal but very effective to shut the

door & sentence the game & a failed season for Barça.

Said this, FC Barcelona tried their best & should return home with
their heads well up. But, they are just words, SFS knows this &
realizes that it does not soothe the disappointment. It can be said
its all frustrating for the Spaniards as it was a silly defensive mistake
that gave the ball to SCHOLES ( above) who hammered in a
beautiful cracker & the only goal in the 13th min.

From then on Barcelona went for it & were unlucky as Deco had
chances that came real close during all the 1º half.

The 2ºhalf was a great piece of Football spectacule as both teams
kept on going forward looking to score. LIONEL MESSI was a
real danger all night, & in SFS opinion eclipsed Cristiano Ronaldo
tonight.

But the keys for Manchester were two men primarily: the Argentine
International dynamo TEVEZ (above) & the South Korean PARK
who were tiredless & destroyed every Barcelona attack. Their
midfield dominance gave tranquility to the whole team & braked
the waves of Barça attacks.

Barcelona put on Henry, Bojan & Gudjohnsson towards the latter part

to give a new impulse to the team, which had its chances, but was not
enough.

So an all English Final, with "The Red Devils" facing the winner of
tomorrows Chelsea FC vs Liverpool FC semi -final clash.

Congratulations Manchester & good luck. For Barcelona its the beginning

of changes for next season, starting possibly with a new coach & the exit
of players. Another season without a title for FC Barcelona is for them
a disaster

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMIS 2008: MANCHESTER UNITED - FC BARCELONA PRE-MATCH HYPE

Huge game tonight for FC BARCELONA in the 2º leg semi-final of
CHAMPIONS against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Surfed the net this morning to see what´s about & everything is filled

with Barça pics & motivational comments from the experts. Also
the Web is filled with inspirational videos ...etc. Here is one,

obviously done by a fan & the second is a news piece on Barça
training yesterday (for the fans!)

Manchester United may need to resort to this tactic of arresting
Barça star LIONEL MESSI to assure its victory tonight!

Nahhh, its a joke, Messi is just being escorted. But it could be a good
idea.

Surf into SFS late tonight for the round. May the better team win.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMIS 2008 - FC BARCELONA: ONE AIM ONE GAME - 2º LEG AGAINST MANCHESTER UNITED

It´s all or nothing. FC BARCELONA places all its bets on one number
& that number is tomorrows semi-final return leg of CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE against MANCHESTER UNITED. With the Spanish League
out of their grasps the European Cup is all that´s left to make this

season memorable.

Barça rested all its stars on Saturday´s League game against Recreativo,

which they lost 2-0, but that was part of the calculation & a possibility.
What´s important is that Eto´o, Messi, Deco. Xavi...all turn up tomorrow

in tip top conditions, along with Thierry Henry who will start in order to
benefit from his experience.

Here is a cartoon from "Mundo Deportivo" by cartoonist "KAP",
as it shows, coach Rijkaard puts all his chips on one number, the
Champions League.

Good luck!

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 34/ 2008 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

After Round 34 do you wish to hear the bad or the good news?
The bad? Levante is a 2º Division team next season. The good
news?We have another week of Spanish Football until a Champion

can be crowned.Good if your not a Real Madrid fan, of course.
Villareal "gate crashed" the Real Madrid party with their win, they
are
10 points away in 2º place with 12ºpoints still up for grabs, so
we all
will have to wait until next week.

REAL BETIS lost to VILLAREAL 0-1 after MARCOS SENNA
(above) saw the goalkeeper out of position in the 15th min & lobbed
the ball from the center of the field to score his teams only goal.
After that Villareal goalkeeper DIEGO LOPEZ did the rest to keep
out Betis & help grab the
3º points for his team to put them 2ºplace
on the ladder in front of FC Barcelona with 4ºmore points, &
behind Real Madrid who has 10ºpoints.

See Video of Marcos Senna´s fabulous goal:

As SFS has said before, ATLETICO DE MADRID is the luckiest
team in the League. Once again it stays in the Champions League
4ºth place thanks to Racing losing & Sevilla drawing, while they
played terribly. Getafe hit the post & Atletico goalkeeper Leo
Franco stopped a
penalty towards the end!

GETAFE drew 1-1 with ATLETICO in a game that the former
deserved to win. Getafe started scoring via a fantastic goal in the
12th min by ALBIN, & SERGIO AGUERO ( above) managed to
equalize for Atletico in the 38th min.

Shared points, now Atletico opens a 2º point lead over Racing &
3º points over Sevilla. Suffering till the end!

New coach & a win. But it was´nt that clear. VALENCIA CF won
3-0 OSASUNA with a penalty to DAVID VILLA in the 19th min
that was´nt & that may have effected the rest of the match.

However that´s Football & Valencia went on its merry way to score
again via MATA in the 51st min & the third via JOAQUIN in the
84th min. David Villa was active & deserves a mention as he was
the provider of the goals apart from his own.

A valuable win that keeps them away from the relegation zone.

MALLORCA did Atletico de Madrid a favour & defeated RACING
3-1 with Guiza (above) scoring again & to take his tally to 22 goals for
the season & 1ºgoal behind the leader Luis Fabiano of Sevilla.

The goals come in the 2ºhalf with NUNES scoring in the 49th, to later
see DUSCHER equalize via a penalty in the 56th min for Racing.
Then Mallorca took over & TREJO scored in the 86th followed
by GUIZA in the 90th min

The picture says it all, LEVANTE players head down as they
lost away to RECREATIVO 2-0, with the later escaping (for
now) the relegation zone. Not for Levante however, with this
lost they are now officially a 2º Division team next season.

Scorers for Recraetivo were ERSEN MARTINS in the 8th min
& CAMUÑAS in the 41st min

REAL ZARAGOZA are 2ºpoints behind Recreativo & IN the
relegation zone. Bad result for them today as they drew away to
ESPANYOL 1-1 & in the last moment thanks to a penalty that
OLIVEIRA converted. For Espanyol RIERA got back on the
scoring sheet in the 59th min with his great goal.

Talking about last minute saving goals VALLADOLID scored
in the 93rd min via SESMA (above) to clinch a 1-0 victory
over ALMERIA to halt their progression & ambitions for Euro
ladder
positions.

REAL MADRID played last & knew before hand that they would
have to wait until next week to claim the Spanish League Title.
In front of their home fans & with less pressure they defeated
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO 3-0.

JAVIER SAVIOLA started & did´nt disappoint with his opening
goal (see above) in the 13th min. From then on there were some
uneasy moments, Casillas stopped a penalty, but Real looked
Champion material & in the 2º
half showed why that is so.

Dutchman ARJEN ROBBEN (above) was delighted as it looks he is
over the
injury hurdle & scored his teams second in the 74th min, to
see 3º
minutes later HIGUAIN put in the third & final goal. Special
mention to Real goalkeeper Casillas, outstanding.

Great win, & grab your party hats next week.

TENNIS: RAFAEL NADAL WINS HIS 4ºTH STRAIGHT MONTE CARLO TITLE

It´s his favourite surface & he shows it, as he won today his 4ºth
straight MONTE CARLO MASTERS title on clay . The
Spanish Nº2 World ranked player RAFAEL NADAL defeated
Swiss World Nº1 Roger Federer 5-7, 5-7.

Great match between both with Nadal coming back in the second set
to over take & beat a fighty Federer, but the clay surface makes
Nadal look like a fish in water. Rafael Nadal looks now favourite to
continue his winning ways as we begin the European circuit, & yes
your right, they are clay courts!

FORMULA 1: FERRARI DOMINANT IN SPANISH GRAN PRIX

Spain was hoping for its two time World Champion FERNANDO
ALONSO to get on the podium today, after starting from 2º

position on the grid. The apparent new adjustments to the Renault
R28 had lead to suspect that it was much better & faster than in
previous races.

However, on the 34th lap, Alonso´s car blew its engine & he had to

abandon the race.

The other story was the spectacular crash by McClaren diver
HEIKKI KOVALAINAN (see below) who smashed into the
protective barrier after blowing a tyre.

See Video of crash:

The winner was the current World Champ
KIMI RAIKKONEN
(as seen below) followed by team mate MASSI & third place went to
LEWIS HAMILTON. Ferrari are ahead of the rest & dominated
today´s race.

Current World Championship Points Table
:

1.Raikkonen 29pts; 2. L.Hamilton 20pts; 3. R.Kubica 19pts...
10.FAlonso 6pts

Next Race: Turkey GP - 11.05.08

SEVILLA FC: KEITA ON JUVENTUS AGENDA

News from Italy, & picked up here by "Marca", announce that Italian
club JUVENTUS is looking for a midfielder, & that midfielder looks
like being SEVILLA FC player KEITA.

The operation is valued at around 15M€, however Sevilla Fc may
wish to avoid a total leak of its stars. Its already news that Luis Fabiano,
Dani Alves & Poulsen, either wish to leave the Club or have offers.
The Spanish Club may wish to hold on to some to keep it competitive
for the new season 2008-09. Stay tuned!

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 34/ 2008 SATURDAY RESULTS

Two games played tonight in Round 34, with the news that FC
BARCELONA have definately said goodbye to the Spanish League

title & SEVILLA FC go backward in their quest for the 4ºth ladder
place for Champions next season.

The image of Thierry Henry says it all, FC BARCELONA were
blown off the field by the best team in the 2ºhalf of the season,
DEPORTIVO with their 2-0 victory. Barça have their head totally

on next Tuesday´s Champions League semi-final decider against
Manchester United. So much so, that Barça rested their stars
Samuel Eto´o & Messi.
This loss kisses goodbye the Spanish League title for this season.

Deportivo dominated the game & were rewarded in the 54th min
with their 1ºst goal by J.RODRIGUEZ pictured above.

Then it was all over for Barça in the 76th min when Deportivo
got their 2ºgoal via PABLO AMO, as the above image shows the
whole team celebrating.

Great win for Deportivo who are now 7th on the ladder & have a

chance to overtake Sevilla Fc. If they do, they will find themselves
in Uefa Cup positions, amazing after such a terrible start earlier
in the season.

REAL MURCIA greeted SEVILLA FC who needed to win in their
attempt at pushing out Racing & Atletico de Madrid from the fight
for the 4ºth spot on the ladder, that gives the right to Champions
next season. The result was terrible for them as the game finished in
a 0-0 draw.

Although Murcia is practically relegated to 2º division, they have pride
& played well against an usually nervious & pressured Sevilla.

Tomorrow the rest of the Round 34 games will be played, with the
following possibility: if Villareal loses or draws & Real Madrid wins,
the latter will be mathematically the winner of the Spanish 1º
Division League for 2007-08. Surf into SFS tomorrow night for all
the news & results.

THE TOP 50 BEST PAID FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE WORLD 2007-2008

Here´s an interesting Video that SFS thought may interest the readers:

FC BARCELONA LOSE LUKA MODRIC TO TOTTENHAM

It was the talk of the European Football World, Croatian 22 year
old International LUKA MODRIC was on the FC BARCELONA
agenda for the last months. The transfer over to the Spanish Club
looked like a done deal, but Football is certainly unpredictable.

Local daily "Marca" has published that English Premier League
Club TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR has taken ( signned) the young
star for 27M€, a historical sum for Croatian Football & for
Tottenham. Just when Barça looked to have it all in the bag,
alone comes Spanish & Tottenham Manager Juande Ramos &

changes everything. Thats Football!

LIVERPOOL FC INTERESTED IN MAXI RODRIGUEZ

According to English press reports & today on Sp.daily
"Mundo Deportivo", LIVERPOOL FC Manager Rafael Benitez
wishes to incorporate into the team for next season Argentine
International & ATLETICO DE MADRID midfield Captain
MAXI RODRIGUEZ.

Rumours have it that Liverpool is speaking with Atletico at this
moment. However, Maxi is considered a vital piece in the Atletico
set up & will have to hear a grand offer to consider letting the
player go, something to does´nt look like happening if Liverpool
have a current "financial situation".

FC BARCELONA TRANSFER UPDATES 2008

Here´s a quick sumamry of what are the rumours & speculations
at FC BARCELONA in reference to possible transfers & signnings

for the coming new season.

When Silvio Berlusconi announces that FC BARCELONA are asking

too much for RONALDINHO, it smells like AC MILAN maybe thinking
twice in signning the Brazilian.

SFS speculation apart, English press & "Marca" report that
TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS & MANCHESTER CITY have entered

the picture to acquire the services of Ronaldinho. The press say that
the players agents have been seen in the UK recently & attending

meetings with said clubs.

EDMILSON
looks like his heading to VILLAREAL for next season.
His contract ends the 30 of June & "Mundo Deportivo" comment that

he has already undergone a medical examine to formalize the
agreement.

The 31 year old Brazilian midfielder goes over free of a transfer fee to

Villareal & will be hoping to have a season with less injuries than the
current one.

The Bosnian press & "Sport" publish that young Bosnian &
French club METZ player, MIRALEM DJANIC, has a firm offer

on his table from FC BARCELONA. The said price of the player
is around the 10M€ mark. Lets see if there is any real truth to this
news, stay tuned!

IBRAHMOVIC MAKING EYES AT REAL MADRID?

Its back again, the speculation & rumours, that INTER MILAN
star forward & Swedish International ZLATAN IBRAHMOVIC
are talking with REAL MADRID. Not directly, that´s not proper,
but via his agent Mino Rayola who is testing the waters at Madrid
according to "Marca". The reaction has been positive, but cautious

as Real Madrid has yet to fully finish its design for next year.

The Swede is have "problems" at his Italian club with directives,

as the player has made some unilateral decisions that have not gone
down well at the club, eg fly to Sweden to have his knee checked
without the clubs permission.

A possible solution maybe to open the door at Inter for Ibrahmovic,

which would allow him to land over at Real Madrid. That is, if the
Spanish giant thinks that it is really necessary & fits in its global
plans.

LUCHO GONZALEZ IN THE ATLETICO DE MADRID ORBIT

The Transfer Market is heating up with rumour & speculation as
this season comes to its natural end & Clubs look to the future. Part
of the many growing speculations come out of ATLETICO DE MADRID

who are obviously active in the market. Yesterday "Marca" mentioned
Raul Meireles from OPORTO as a player that interested, today "AS"
publish the At.Madrid will make an effort for his team mate Argentine
International LUCHO GONZALEZ ( pictured below)

The midfielder comes with a hitch, his elevated 20M€ price tag, which
can only be realistically paid by the Spanish Club if they secure a place
in next years Champions League. That prospect is not clear & in
danger as Atletico holds on to the 4ºth ladder place with its teeth & a
1ºpoint advantage over Racing & 3ºpoints over Sevilla Fc. SFS will

keep you informed on developments.

VALENCIA CF LOOKS AT DANI GUIZA - FORWARD IN FASHION

MALLORCA & Spanish International forward DANI GUIZA
(pictured below) is currently 2º in the Top Goal Scorers List
of the Spanish League with 21 goals. He is in fashion & has
grabbed the attention of various Clubs (Spanish & European).

The first club to actively show its direct interest is VALENCIA
CF
who wish to find a substitute for its current forward Fernando
Morientes. According to "El Mundo", Valencia will pay the 15M€

release clause to assure the player, however Guiza has the last word
& may wish to hold out to study other offers, eg AC ROMA. Stay
tuned!

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINAL - 1º LEG - 2008: FC BARCELONA 0 - MANCHESTER UNITED 0

The City of Barcelona stopped along with half of Spain as FC
BARCELONA
played MANCHESTER UNITED in the 1º leg

of their home & away semi final games in the CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE.

The end result is a 0-0 draw that makes the 2º leg game at
Manchester the decider. Who played better? Depends on what

side of the fence your on. Manchester started strong & was awarded
an early penalty which CRISTIANO RONALDO missed as the
image
above shows us.

If Ronaldo had scored it could have changed the course of the whole
match, as one can figure by the look on Ronaldo´s face by the image

below, after his miss.

FC Barcelona then recovered from the shock & began to get its
play together. The team recovered its composure while the English
team s attacks were each time less effective.

But here, a Barça fan would conclude that his team let of the hook
a struggling Manchester as it failed to convert its many chances to

knock out & put on the canvass United.

As the clock ticked, & specially in the 2º half, Barça was running over
a confused & impotent Manchester, as the chances rained down on
Barça who just could not get the ball into the English net. SAMUEL
ETO´O along with TOURE , just to mention two, looked to the sky
in an
attempt to find reasons for not scoring.

If the game was only 45 minutes & the 2º half, Barça was the clear
winner.

But it was´nt , it was 90 mins game were this match was one half of
the
whole & both live to fight another day - at Manchester next week.

WHILE FC BARCELONA CALL FOR FANS SUPPORT AGAINST MANCHESTER, MANCHESTER GIVES THE CITY ITS NON -REPRESENTATIVE SUPPORTERS

Big match tonight for Spanish Football & FC BARCELONA in the
1º leg of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE semi-finals against
MANCHESTER UNITED. The Barça team has done an add calling
all fans to join in & support the club in its endevour to overcome the
mighty English club. See Video titled : "Barca vs Manchester - Tots
units fem força"

The other spectrum sees how once again the City of Barcelona gets

visited by loyal & decent Manchester United fans. However, as in
the habitual & sadly repeated experience & case shows, the English
apple
basket has some rotten pieces that spoil it for the rest. Fans
who´s definition
of a good time & fun is to get drunk, insult & practice
the most primitive type
of "stupid" violence possible. Their free street
theater performances can be left out of their visit, but they insist in

showing us & the world that a single brain cell can still be able to walk.
Which if you think about about it, is a scientific miracle. Bad image for
their club &
for the mayority of decent fans here for a proper, orderly
& civic good time.

When will they ever learn! See this VIDEO of a particualr Manchester
Utd fan having fun, SFS is almost certain he has´nt a clue
if he is in
Barcelona , Manchester or in Sydney.

AT.MADRID & FC BARCELONA 2008 TRANSFER RUMOURS

Just got back from the city of Barcelona & they are reved up
for tonights Champions League semi against Manchester. Surf
into SFS later tonight for the all the rundown.

However, just two quick transfer rumours/speculation pieces in the

news today. Firstly, ATLETICO DE MADRID spies went to
Portugal to follow OPORTO & Portugues International midfielder
RAUL MEIRELES ( pictured below) in the 2-0 victory game over
Benfica last weekend.

The player is liked at the club & may join already signed players
Heitinga & Ujfalusi for next season, according to "Marca".
Stay tuned!

The German International & BAYERN MUNICH 24 year old
defender PHILIPP LAHM has broken negotiations with his club
to renew his contract. According to "Sport", this opens the door for
FC BARCELONA
to sign the player for next season & find the
needed replacement for Italian defender Zambrotta who will go to
AC Milan. Stay tuned!

VALENCIA CF. COACH ROLAND KOEMAN SACKED

Winning the Spanish Cup was´nt enough, the fact that Valencia are
just 2ºpoints from the relegation zone & the 5-1 defeat at the
hands of Athletic de Bilbao yesterday , was the straw that broke the
camels
back. VALENCIA CF has announced that it has sacked its
coach ROLAND KOEMAN.

Here is the video of yesterdays 5-1 loss, see why Valencia decided
to get Koeman of the teams driving seat. Now there is one only
objective, avoid the 2º division!

LUIS FABIANO CURRENT SPANISH LEAGUE TOP GOAL SCORER AFTER ROUND 33 / 2008

The Spanish 1ºst Division - La Liga - has already turned out 33
Rounds, & with just 5º more left, the "Pichichi" title ( The Top
Goalscorer in the Spanish League in one season) is a tight race.
The 2º favourites are Luis Fabiano & Dani Guiza, who are

seperated by just 2 goals, with Raul close by but with a gap of 6
goals from the leader.

After Round 33 the current Top Goal Scorer in the Spanish League
is LUIS FABIANO ( Sevilla FC) will 23 goals.

In second place & with two goals less is DANI GUIZA ( Real Mallorca)
with 21 goals. He is currently the leading Spanish player in the goal
scoring tally. Yesterday he scored a Hat-Trick!

3. Raul ( Real Madrid CF) - 17 goals
4. Nihat ( Villareal ) - 15 goals
5. Diego Milito (Real Zaragoza) - 15 goals
6. Sergio Aguero (At.Madrid) - 15 goals

The last 5 remaining Rounds promise to be exciting as Fabiano
& Guiza ( with a slight chance for Raul) "battle" to proclaim
themselves the "Pichichi" title for 2007 - 2008.

REAL MADRID CLOSE TO THE SPANISH LEAGUE TITLE 2007-2008

Check the Video & the reaction from the REAL MADRID players
after Higuaín scored their 2º goal in their 0-2 victory over Racing
of
Santander yesterday:

You would think that they had already won the title, however it is still

up for grabs mathematically speaking. If Real Madrid win next Sunday &
FC Barcelona & Villareal both fail to win, the title will definately be all
for Real Madrid & the above celebration may well be more intense.

Yesterday was an explosion of relief from the intense pressure & the
realization that they are close to the objective.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 33/ 2008 GAMES RESULTS

SFS was out of town this weekend in a "non-digital zone" & was
glued to the radio listening to all of the Round 33 games,
were the news is that Real Madrid could claim the title next week,
Atletico de Madrid still hold onto the 4ºth Champions spot &
Zaragoza climb out of the relegation zone. Here is all the results,
scorers, images & a couple of videos.

REAL MADRID took a giant leap today after defeating RACING
0-2 & position themselves with the possiblity of proclaiming the
Spanish Championship if they win next Sunday. They also did Atletico
de Madrid a huge favour by keeping Racing in 5ºth place, 1ºpoint
behind them, in the battle for the coverted 4ºth Champions League
spot.

Real Madrid were solid today & concentrated with the task, in a
ground
that traditionally is not their favourite. Mighty Captain RAUL
scored first in the 12 min to get them rolling, however Racing are a
tough unit & were not knocked down until the very last moment when
HIGUAIN
scored Real Madrid´s second in the 94th min.

Real now has a 10 point advantage over 2ºnd placed Villareal &
11ºpoint advantage over 3ºrd placed Barcelona.

Angry scenes at Camp Barça after FC BARCELONA drew 0-0
against ESPANYOL as they again allowed Real Madrid to open
the gap & they lose 2ºplace to Villareal. They are now concentrating
on their important Champions League semis clash against
Manchester Utd this Wednesday, as the Spanish League title is
virtually beyond their reach.

Above is the Video highlight of the ATLETICO DE MADRID 1 - REAL
BETIS 3 game. Atletico have huge problems in defence, they were rolled
by Betis who virtually secures their stay in the 1ºdivision. Atletico apart
from playing badly, are the luckiest team in the world, as everytime they
lose & look like falling off the 4ºth Champions position, the following
teams after that spot ( Racing, Sevilla...) also lose.

VILLAREAL
claims 2ºplace tonight after winning 2-0 VALLADOLID.
Turkish star NIHAT scored first in the 15th min(as seen above) &
CAZORLA sentenced in the 46th min.

MURCIA
lost 1-4 to MALLORCA thanks to a HAT TRICK by
DANI GUIZA ( above) who scored in the 10th, 48th & 88th
min. Team mate ARANGO also scored in the 18th min to add
to the scoring feast. Real Murcia grabbed the consolation goal in
the
91st min thanks to BAIANO.

The above Video shows how SEVILLA FC lost 1-4 to in form ALMERIA
on Saturday. Almeria is a solid team that now sees itself positioned to
fight for Uefa Cup ladder positions & even attempt the 4ºth Champions
League position as well. Remember they were in 2º division last season
& are turning in a revelation team season.

The scorers were: Alves (o.g)23rdmin, Negredo 47th & 66th min, Ortiz
62thmin & Kanoute 73rd min:

It could have been 1-5 but Negredo missed a penalty; a whitewash
& total
win over Sevilla

REAL ZARAGOZA jump up a place & escape temporarily from the
relegation zone thanks to its 3-0 win over RECREATIVO, & exchange
positions & put the latter in the danger zone.

S.GARCIA (above) scored in the 2ºnd min with OLIVEIRA scoring the
other 2º goals in the 20th & 78th min.

Important 3 points for Zaragoza!

DEPORTIVO has doing a spectacular 2º half of the season, so much
so, that if one takes the 2º half points accumulated they would be 1ºst
on the table. Today they continued their grand form by defeating
OSASUNA 0-1.

SERGIO
scored the only goal for Deportivo in the 64th min.

Last placed LEVANTE won 3-1 a mentally affected GETAFE,
who lost the Spanish Cup mid week to Valencia. The scorers
for Levante were JUANMA (40 th min), BERSON (43 min) &
LEON (53rd min). For Getafe DE LA RED managed to score
in the 59th min.

Admirable effort from Levante who are going through tough
economic times, not being able to pay their players, who showed
true professionalism today.

The news here is the thrashing received by newly crowned Spanish
Cup winners VALENCIA CF 5-1 at ATHLETIC DE BILBAO. This
announces the end of Valencia coach ROLAND KOEMAN as the
team can no longer resist the bad results & pressure from the fans.
A real nightmare season for Valencia!
At.Bilboa pulled in a grand game with LLORENTE scoring twice,
with goals from team mates IRAOLA & ADURIZ. The other goal
for Bilbao was an own goal by Valencia defender ALBIOL.
