Two games played tonight in Round 34, with the news that FC
BARCELONA have definately said goodbye to the Spanish League
title & SEVILLA FC go backward in their quest for the 4ºth ladder
place for Champions next season.
The image of Thierry Henry says it all, FC BARCELONA were
blown off the field by the best team in the 2ºhalf of the season,
DEPORTIVO with their 2-0 victory. Barça have their head totally
on next Tuesday´s Champions League semi-final decider against
Manchester United. So much so, that Barça rested their stars
Samuel Eto´o & Messi.
This loss kisses goodbye the Spanish League title for this season.
Deportivo dominated the game & were rewarded in the 54th min
with their 1ºst goal by J.RODRIGUEZ pictured above.
Then it was all over for Barça in the 76th min when Deportivo
got their 2ºgoal via PABLO AMO, as the above image shows the
whole team celebrating.
Great win for Deportivo who are now 7th on the ladder & have a
chance to overtake Sevilla Fc. If they do, they will find themselves
in Uefa Cup positions, amazing after such a terrible start earlier
in the season.
REAL MURCIA greeted SEVILLA FC who needed to win in their
attempt at pushing out Racing & Atletico de Madrid from the fight
for the 4ºth spot on the ladder, that gives the right to Champions
next season. The result was terrible for them as the game finished in
a 0-0 draw.
Although Murcia is practically relegated to 2º division, they have pride
& played well against an usually nervious & pressured Sevilla.
Tomorrow the rest of the Round 34 games will be played, with the
following possibility: if Villareal loses or draws & Real Madrid wins,
the latter will be mathematically the winner of the Spanish 1º
Division League for 2007-08. Surf into SFS tomorrow night for all
the news & results.
