FC BARCELONA NEW AWAY UNIFORM SEASON 2016-17

Before you know it the new Spanish Football season 2016-2017 will be upon us. Clubs are busy while we enjoy our summer holidays with signings, deals & presentations. Spanish Soccer club FC Barcelona made official today their away home uniform

season 2016-17

Without the recognized vertical strips the away uniform is uni-coloured but with a closer "body-fit" style. The objetive is clear, get the fans to folk out 95€ for be able to "sport" the "new outfit".

NEW FC BARCELONA UNIFORM SEASON 2016-2017

FC Barcelona has presented officially today their new uniform for season 2016-2017. The new look brings back the "traditional" vertical lines, giving a "vintage" but at the same time modern look.

No official sponsor appears on the new shirt at this moment because Barça is negotiating with the previous party. Personally, it´s the best time to buy the new Barça shirt as it does not have a sponsor "spoiling" the front, allowing a clean look.

FC Barcelona shirt 2016-2017

Said this, get ready to get out of your pocket around 80-95 € if you want to look the part for next season. As you know this is the most used "marketing tactic" of the many used by Football Clubs to generate money from merchandising.

CRISTIANO RONALDO RICHEST FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE WORLD

Portuguese & Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo is the richest Football player on the planet. his estimated personal wealth is 210,000,000 €, mostly thanks to juicy publicity contracts with Toyota, Herbalife, Armani, KFC, Emirates, Banco Espiritu Santo & Samsung, apart from his long relationship with Nike. However, there is more, cash-flows from fashion, leisure (nightclub-"Seven") & real estate investments, along with his mega-salary & merchandising; & I am sure I am leaving stuff out.

Richest Football player on the planet

FC Barcelona Argentine star Lionel Messi is in a close 2º nd position with a cool 200M€. Another FC Barcelona player is up there in 3ºrd position, Neymar, a pure money making machine who is still young & will generate more in coming years.

First Spanish-born in the list is Raul, ex-Real Madrid, currently with the New York Cosmos with 85M€.

REAL MADRID TOUR AUSTRALIA - CHINA PRE SEASON 2015

Good news for Australian & Chinese Soccer & Real Madrid followers & fans.

Real Madrid will start the next season on July 10. After a few days in "Valdebebas - Madrid", the Spanish Football team will depart for Australia, country where they will play two matches within the "Guiness International Champions Cup" and in which Clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester City have already given their OK. Melbourne will be the centre of operations.

Real Madrid Australia-China tour 2015

The next stage of the Real Madrid summer pre-season tour is China, country where two matches will be played, in addition to various promotional events and other related to the "Real Madrid Foundation"

The next "final" stage will be Munich - Germany, to close the pre-season tour with the dispute in an official tournament TBA.

The estimates made by Real Madrid Directives is that the Club will earn between 12 and 15 million euros during the mentioned pre-season summer 2015 tour.

ANGEL DI MARIA & RADAMEL FALCAO SHATTERED REAL MADRID DREAMS

The names Radamel Falcao & Angel Di Maria have sounded heavily all summer within the Spanish Football Sports media & particularly linked with Real Madrid. The first for his "obsessive desire" to play at Real Madrid & the latter for his wish to leave said Club. Connected fates, Real Madrid for both & the some representative Jorge Mendes who will play his part.

The end result, Falcao saw his dream shattered & ended up in Manchester United, & Di Maria left but admitting he did not want to leave but pushed out. In both cases, both players have "spewed" some bad blood towards Real Madrid & seem to be expressing their ill-feeling. Their disappointment is obvious, the fact is Real Madrid did not fold to their demands, & in some sense their "black-mail".

So what happened to shatter dreams? Money. The Di Maria case was obvious, the Falcao case was indirectly, a badly played strategy.

REAL MADRID

Manchester United has now Radamel Falcao, a loan that will turn into a +60M€ buy-out next season. The arrival announcement from the player to English Press was that "he dreamt of playing at Manchester United". This has made many laugh here in Spain & illustrates the "white-lies" syndrome that most Football players are afflicted. If your a Man Utd. fan, don´t hold it against the man, but it was never the objective to end up at Manchester.

The number one objective of Falcao, his true dream & desire of was always Real Madrid. The player & his representative did everything to get Real Madrid to sign the Colombian. They applied daily pressure & media manipulation in Italian, French, Portuguese & Spanish Sports press to keep the pressure on. The players inner circle even manipulated social media channels announcing "news" that Real Madrid had signed the player to later eliminate the comment & claim they were hacked.

The truth is that Real Madrid & Coach Ancelotti did not want Falcao. Not the profile needed, the team does not play to wingers crosses into a heading centre forward. Karim Benzema is their chosen Centre Forward, the Frenchman is undisputed & with a more creative, back playing & setting up wingers profile. The team did not wish a "super star" - Falcao - to ruffle the dressing room feathers with sitting on the bench whining & a huge super salary. All this plus a recent knee injury that placed "doubts", even Man Utd. made Falcao pass twice a medical exam due to his knee before announcing his signing.

Falcao could have ended up earlier in Real Madrid, but chose Monaco for the money, 14M€ a year. This is a fact.

The truth is that the player is not being to honest about things with his comments - & his fathers comments to media. The tragedy for Falcao is that his decisions again will not allow him to be seen in any European competition indicating at the very least, bad strategic planning. Or does it? He does have his money after all.

REAL MADRID

Lastly talking about money & "dishonesty", we have been delivered on a nearly daily basis personal comments from ex Real Madrid player Angel Di Maria with certain "nastiness" aimed at his ex Club. The now Manchester United player expressed in a "bitter" letter to Spanish media & again in media interview that:
  • he never wished to leave Real Madrid,
  • it had to do about being appreciated & valued by the Club,
  • that he was pushed out by Club Directives, especially Club President Perez.
The truth is, that Angel Di Maria wanted 8M€/year salary & the Club offered 6M€. Added to this the Argentine did not look at favourably the arrivals of Gareth Bale & later James Rodriguez with better fanfare, salary conditions & ... more competition for the midfield positions. What is also conveniently forgotten by the player were the continual "poker stances" with the Club, a deliberated "go slow" attitude on the field to pressure for his demands, & messages to the Real Madrid stadium & their members with "touch my balls" gestures & sobbing substitutions gestures. Overall not very professional.

In both cases this summer - Falcao & Di Maria - Real Madrid was being pressured by their shared representative Jorge Mendes who distorted Sporting contacts & Football media around Europe to manipulate public opinion - especially the Real Madrid fan base - to give into his players demands.  In the end Real Madrid chose to stand firm, sanitize their financial balance sheets & send a clear message internally that no player is bigger than the Institution, the Club will not be "pressured".

I finish with those other players who recently attempted a similar "dangerous" strategy of pushing Real Madrid to the limits & lost. The names of ex Real Madrid players like Robinho, Higuain & Ozil - just to mention three - comes to mind, players that have now lost World Football exposure & prestige. Their inner circles claim "in privately" that perhaps they made the wrong decision. They did get their money of course, but left the biggest Club in World Football. They decided to step down from the Football Olympus voluntarily after dedicating their Football life to achieve it. Falcao was close & Di Maria may join the long list of players full of later regrets. The money will soften the blow, but we the public need to be "smart" enough to distinguish between reality from player manufactured illusions. A practice as old as the devil himself.

REAL MADRID | 80M€ FOR JAMES RODRIGUEZ TOO MUCH ?

Is 80,000,000 € too much for a Football Player? Depends, Cristiano Ronaldo cost 96M€ & now everyone is in accorde that he was relatively "cheap". But what about Colombian International JAMES RODRIGUEZ? Real Madrid has paid Monaco close to 80M€ to have the 23 year old Football player whos only jump to fame so far has been his 6 goals in the last World Cup in Brazil. Too much?

JAMES RODRIGUEZ REAL MADRID

Check the latest economic study by the Consultancy Euromericas picked up by Spanish Sports daily "AS". According to their study the new Real Madrid player James Rodriguez has already sold 345,000 shirts with his Number 10. With each shirt costing approximately around 97€ the player has already generated 33,400,000€ in just 4 days & he has not even played a single match with his new Club. The boom has come from Colombia & from Asia with the Internet channel being the main driving financial motor.

Real Madrid keeps around 60-70% of the Marketing generation revenues of James Rodriguez, that is, what he generates from his "image", be that Sporting wear, commercials or any other economic activity the uses James Rodriguez to promote their products or services.

Now, to answer the question, is 80M€ too much to pay for James Rodriguez? Think the reply is obvious, by the start of the Spanish Liga season at the end of August the player would have generated more than 50% of his cost & if James Rodriguez plays well & wins titles Real Madrid will actually profit way beyond the initial investment.

LIONEL MESSI HIGHEST INCOME GENERATOR IN WORLD FOOTBALL

French Sports magazine "France Football" has published the list of the "Best Income Generating Football Players", with FC Barcelona player Lionel Messi taking the Top spot with 41M€ ahead of Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo with 39,5M€. The difference is "peanuts" compared with third placed FC Barcelona player Neymar with 29M€, however this will be on the rise as many expect the Brazilian to be the "heir apparant".

Two Spanish players are in the Top 10, Fernando Torres with 16,2M€ & David Silva with 15,5M€

WORLD SOCCER 2014

1. Leo Messi: 41 M euros
2. Cristiano Ronaldo: 39,5 M
3. Neymar: 29 M
4. Wayne Rooney: 24 M
5. Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 23,5 M
6. Radamel Falcao: 21,2 M
7. Kun Agüero: 19,7 M
8. Thiago Silva: 17 M
9. Eden Hazard: 16,8 M
10. Franck Ribéry: 16,5 M
11. Fernando Torres: 16,2 M
13. David Silva: 15,5 M

Let see the break-down of the Lionel Messi 41M€  = 12,5M salary FC Barcelona + 2,5 M in bonuses. Apart he receives 25 M€ more from Adidas, FIFA 2014, Samsung, Turkish Airlines, Ooredoo, Pepsi-Cola, Audermars Piguet, Gillette, Dolce e Gabbana, Head & Shoulders, Gatorade, Herbalife, Pan Bimbo, Banca Nativa Nacion, We chat/Tecent) in publicity & other various operations (merchandising, etc…).

Messi is also the 5th World Sports money earners behind Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Kobe Bryant & LeBron James.

REAL MADRID PLAYERS | MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL WHO´S THE FAIREST OFF THEM ALL.

Ex-Real Madrid Coach, now at Chelsea FC, Jose Mourinho commented to Esquire magazine that:

"Lots of times at Real Madrid, the players would be queuing in front of the mirror before the game while the referee waited for them in the tunnel".

This was initially interpreted as a "dig in" towards some of his ex-players were the relationship between both ended tense in his last months at the Club.

Vanity Marketing

However, far from a kick in the teeth from Mourinho, it is the truth. Many times we witnessed how the opposition team went onto the field,  at the beginning or after halftime, first & waited for Real Madrid to come on. Many thought it was a Jose Mourinho "mind games" tactic but in fact it was a delay because some players were "freshening up" their appearance.

In Spanish Football ( & I suppose UEFA ) there are strict rules about coming onto the field at the correct times ( I suppose due to TV contracts ) & getting on "late" leads to hefty fines for the Club. Real Madrid General Director Angel Sanchez has been said to have gone down to the dressing room to ask Mourinho to get the players onto the field earlier because the Club was receiving very heavy economical sanctions. Jose Mourinho replied I am waiting for the players to finish fixing themselves in front of the mirror.

The anecdote goes further. There is a "story" about a visiting International player after a Champions League match saying to his inner circle that he had never seen so much hair gel in one place at one Football Club.

This should all been seen & taken as normal & perhaps funny. Bear in mind that many Football players are young adults, many still single & many with huge multi-million image contracts. Perhaps the pioneer of all this was Englishman David Beckham who has supplemented his Football wage with millions & millions of dollars in image marketing. The retired Footballer still now continues to rack in the dollars with his
"physical" attributes.

So if your in a dressing room & a Real Madrid footballer happens to walk by, hide your hair gel, just in case. Finally, I sure that Real Madrid is not the only Club in World Football where their players have a "mirror check" before jumping onto the field.

FUNNY GUY NEYMAR | QUOTE OF THE WEEK

The arrival of Brazilian Neymar to Spain & concretely to FC Barcelona has had its collateral damage, in this case unprecedented for Barça. The fall & disappearance of a Barça President, Sandro Rosell,  & the formal accusation by the Spanish Anti-corruption Agency through Judge Ruz of possible tax evasion by Barça which the Club will have to appear in Court to prove its innocence.

The storm forced Barça to reveal the previous "secret" contract & signing numbers of the Neymar transfer lifting the figure from around a said 57,1M€ to around 97M€ ( or 130M€ from other sources ). The Father of Neymar received around 44M€ plus other "incentives" in strange concepts that still no one really understands & puts it down to financial engineering.

Tax evasion claims FC Barcelona

Which leads to what is in my mind the quote of the week, if not the month & it is boarding onto the year. A wonderful piece that comes out coinciding with the "Autobiography" book about Neymar, & his relation with Real Madrid & their failed attempts to sign him. According to Neymar his reply to Real Madrid was:

“Yo no me vendo por dinero” translated

"I don´t sell myself for money"

A wonderful piece that should get us all running to the books stores to by up a book that talks about the "full rich life with experience" of a 22 year old.

Brazil

This is the apparent location & building of the Neymar Company. As you can see luxurious offices in prime city real estate. The truth is that it is empty (abandoned) with no one present & without a post box to receive mail. Perhaps Neymar is sincere about not selling his "soul" to money", however perhaps we should ask his Father if he thinks the same.

Funny guy this Neymar. Must think we are all stupid.

FC BARCELONA PRESIDENT ROSELL RESIGNS - LEAVES THE PRESIDENCY

A few days back a post was uploaded here with the title "NEYMAR TRANSFER COMMISSIONS TIME BOMB | FC BARCELONA PAID 95M€ NOT 57M€ ?". Here was alerted the first signs of possible existing irregularities in the signing of Neymar by FC Barcelona this summer. There are indications of possible undefined commissions with an important difference between the said cost of 57,1M€ & the unofficial cost of more than 95M€ ( some say +120M€).

A FC Barcelona member Mr. Jordi Cases filed a lawsuit against Club President Sandro Rosell & his Directive Team. This lawsuit has been taken up by the Spanish Anti- Corruption Authority under Judge Ruz who sees evidence of possible "wrong doing" & contractual manipulation & will investigate the case.

The above post said that this would have a snow-ball effect & that President Sandro Rosell & his Directives were sitting on a time-bomb awaiting to explode. Well that "time-bomb" has exploded & the shock waves are now shaking Spanish Football & World Soccer.

FC Barcelona scandal

FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell called a Press Conference this afternoon to announce his resignation as President. Until this moment President Sandro Rosell has kept to the "Official Club Line", that everything concerning the signing of Neymar is legit, transparent, that it´s a Madrid lead "conspiracy plot" & that Neymar cost 57,1M€, he even called onto Judge Ruz to call him as soon as possible to the stand to enable him to "break" contractual confidentiality clauses to explain the whole "reality". The overwhelming evidence that has appeared in recent days goes directly in the opposite direction of what has been said & has forced the Club President to take this drastic decision tonight.  Sandro Rosell leaves with arguments about "outside influences" & pressures on his family, that the Club is above any personal interest.

FC Barcelona

The decision makes Vice President Bartomeu the new President of FC Barcelona who announced that the Directive Team will continue until 2016.

President Rosell falls from grace partially because he himself dug his own grave by not being transparent to the Club members & media & allowing doubts over the "Neymar Affair" to linger in the air ( as they still do ). Also Rosell has made enemies within the Club & he has sacrificed himself as the "scape goat". Tied in with all this were personality traits that worked against his favour like over confidence & perhaps a lack of humility that would have served him better. I personally have no doubts that there are "Wolfs" within his own team of Directives that went in for the "kill" tonight & left their President wounded to be preyed on by the scavengers. A "dirty lesson" indeed for Sandro Rosell & a reality check on ruthless Football Politics.

The next coming days, weeks & months will see more news,  & insights will arise from the "Neymar Affair" along with all the back-room manoeuvring & politics. Dark moments at "Camp Barça" which Barça fans hope will not effect their Football Team in Liga, Spanish Cup & Champions League.

Stay tuned, this isn't finished yet!

LIONEL MESSI IS THE MOST VALUABLE FOOTBALL PLAYER IN WORLD SOCCER FOR 2013

A great way to get media coverage is to release studies that call the attention of everyone, especially news hungry media. Brazilian Sports Consultancy firm, "Pluri Consultoria", has released their report focusing on the "Most valuable Football - Soccer Player in the World" for 2013. The figures are debatable as the term "value" has been questioned & redefined by philosophers & economist for 000s of the last years.

Leaving Plato, Adam Smith, Keynes & Friedmann to one side, according to this Consultancy firm, Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona is the most valuable Football player in World Soccer last year with a "market price" of 138, 1 M€. The Argentine is followed by the recently awarded "FIFA - France Football Golden Ball 2013" & Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The first Spanish player to appear in the list is Chelsea FC midfielder Juan Mata in 10th place with a 47, 1 M€ figure.

World Soccer

The most valuable Top 5 World Football Players for 2013:

1. Leo Messi (FC Barcelona) 138,1 M €
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid CF) 107,3 M€
3. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid CF) 71,3 M€
4. Neymar (FC Barcelona) 67,4 M€
5. Gotze (Bayern Munich) 60,3 M€.

10. Juan Mata (Chelsea FC) 47,1 M€

Big money for top players, in this sense, I think we all agree. The rest is arguable & at least people have now heard for the first time that their is a Brazilian Consultancy that does these types of valuations.

FIFA - FRANCE FOOTBALL GOLDEN BALL 2013 | IS CRISTIANO RONALDO ALREADY THE WINNER ?

Tomorrow night we will have a new ( or renewed ) "King of World Football". FIFA-France Football will announce the winner of the "2013 FIFA Golden Ball Award" in Zurich in front of a "creme de la creme" audience from three candidates: Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Lionel Messi ( FC Barcelona) & Cristiano Ronaldo ( Real Madrid ).

Whoever of these three "Titans of Football" is proclaimed the winner, the controversy will be assured. Not everyone will be in accord or happy with the announcement. From a collective point of view, Franck Ribery deserves the prize after helping Bayern Munich with German League, German Cup & Champions League. However, as seen in 2010 when Spanish star Andres Iniesta won the World Cup with Spain, he too deserved it then but was ousted by team-mate Lionel Messi on individual criteria. Lionel Messi has had a "troubled" second half of 2013 with injuries which has lowered his form & kept him out of the playing fields months but his "pedigree" cannot be questioned . While Cristiano Ronaldo has been a true "Hurricane" with goals in 2013 with unbelievable numbers, but he has not won a "Collective" title with Real Madrid. There are plenty of ingredients to open debate & keep it heated for hours & hours, even days & weeks.

Best Players in World Football

The FIFA - France Football Golden Ball has lost credibility in recent years which is a real pity. The accusations of fixing, economic interests & knowledge of winners before the ceremony has blemished the "concept". This year an added controversy was added when FIFA re-opened & extended the voting to included the World Cup European Groups qualifiers for Brazil 2014 which included the Portugal - Sweden tie that saw Cristiano Ronaldo single handedly put his Nation into the World Cup. Many saw this as giving Cristiano Ronaldo the advantage & even candidate Franck Ribery announced to media that he was "disgusted" with the FIFA decision to extend the period of votes.

So who will win?

Everything indicates that Cristiano Ronaldo will win. There is circumstantial evidence:

  • the massive "media campaign" to his favour in the last months.
  • numerous surveys that indicate CR7 will win. Surveys that include direct contact with voters around the World to get their votes,  independent of the supposed contractual "confidentiality clause" that FIFA places.
  • the changing of mind from Ronaldo that he will now attend the Award Gala. The Portuguese star announce his NO ATTENDANCE after FIFA President Blatter showed his preference for Messi & "offended" him with a ridiculous impersonation.
  • the decision of Cristiano Ronaldo to travel to Zurich with all his family . This last point is very significant.
Added to the above, there are "dark room" indicators that "influencers" called for some fresh air for the Award as it gets "monotonous" Lionel Messi winning every year, along with the mayor Sportswear Multinationals & sponsors calling "its our turn for a piece of the pie" & change.

If the above is all true ( now its speculation ) it puts in doubt the FIFA message of "...the winner is securely locked away in a Swiss vault & comes out to the public on the day of the ceremony"...story. Although we all know that France Football has to do a complete "photo session" with the winner weeks before to get its special "Golden Ball Award" issue on the streets the next day of formal announcement.

Either way, tomorrow all doubts or rumoured knowledge will be formalized. Whoever wins the controversy will be assured, & extras doubts exposed over a prize of this category that should be completely rid off, & should be only known for its coherency, independence & transparency.  But nothing with FIFA lately ( Qatar World Cup,  for example ) has any of the three.

Good luck to all three candidate,  & may the "better" win.

SPAIN FOOTBALL TEAM PRESENTS NEW UNIFORM | MARKETING | FINANCE | POLITICS

The Spanish Football Federation presented today to a packed media audience the "new" uniform that the Spanish Football National Team will wear in the upcoming FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil 2014. It´s an all red uniform which has been "sold" as a good luck omen for the current double European ( 2008/2012) & World Champions (2010) as Spain will attempt to make Football History if they manage to win back to back World Titles.

Spanish Football Team 2014

The uniform looks good, but the Marketing & Financial power behind it is much greater. It was more the day of the Sportwear multinational that sponsors Spain. More than a celebration of Spanish Football it was a powerful commercial exercise that will reap in millions & millions of dollars in merchandising, shirt selling & branding with the Spanish Football Federation obviously getting some "crumbs" off the global financial cake.

The most interesting picture was the one below with FC Barcelona star Andres Iniesta. The Sportwear "war" is in full flight & it will get rough in coming months. Have a look at the Footy shoes that Iniesta takes into the presentation gala, they are the "other brand", which has paid millions to the same players to counter-act the media effects of such events & uniforms.

An interesting observation which highlights - as you already know - that Football is a billion dollar industry which partially explains many things that occur which for the normal Football fan many seem odd: winners, losers, match decisions, hand-balls in crucial situations which are winning goals, World Cup allocations, Club titles & individual awards.

The Spanish Football National Team will officially premier "the new look" in International matches in the upcoming Friendly Internationals. One of which is against Equatorial Guinea governed by a 40 year Dictator with human rights violations. Another piece of hard evidence about the Football Business, it is speculated that the Spanish Football Federation will receive millions of euros for the "Football visit". We are sure the proud Sportswear brand of today also does not give a f*** about the human rights violations either.

FIFA POWER POLITICS | BLATTER vs CRISTIANO RONALDO | THE REAL STORY

The storm caused by FIFA President Blatter & his comments in reference to the question of who he preferred, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, has been magnified & blown out beyond what simple outside Football observers would have expected. In fact no one knew in Spain that Blatter had spoke at the Oxford University forum until yesterday night. The comments took place on Friday & came to light 3 days later, coinciding "casually" with the release of the FIFA Golden Ball list of 23 candidates... more later

Here is the video & what the FIFA President had to say about Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo:

Yes one can interpret that Mr.Blatter could have been more alert & more politically correct. The surprise is not the negative & disrespectful interpretation from Spanish Sports media, Real Madrid & Cristiano Ronaldo which is understandable, but the trap set-up to which a traditionally fierce "political animal" that the FIFA President is known for fell foot & head into to the glee & the smiles of his enemies.

Mr. Blatter has held with an iron fist power under FIFA for a long time, & one does not do this without kicking heads, plenty of skulls. Those who have "suffered" the powers of Blatter have waited in the dark silently & are now smelling blood to go in for the kill. Cristiano Ronaldo has long felt that he has been badly respected by FIFA not only last Friday & now he has his moment. Real Madrid has felt a serious loss of power in the International Football Community & now has the opportunity to put back their 2 cents worth of "revenge", these & the long list of behind the scene Football, Political, Economic & who knows who personalities that have ambitions to take away the seat of Football power ( & a Billion dollar industry ) from Blatter.

The current FIFA President is "wounded", especially after the Qatar 2022 World Cup allocation which is full of serious accusations of fixing, multi-million "brides" & the acknowledge public mistake voiced by Blatter himself that to play Football under 50 degrees conditions was a mistake & almost suicidal. Will the Qatar & World Investors accept a change? Doubt it? Many feel that the "old man" should move on, people like Michel Platini ( the current UEFA President ) who has his eye on the FIFA seat, also like Spanish Federation President Angel Villar & all the other numerous power hungry enemies from Sporting wear multi-nationals, Economic Institutions & Companies, World Sports Media, Football Clubs, Coaches, Players, Representatives etc & etc of which Mr.Blatter has previously stuck his "Doc Marteens" Boots into their teeth for years.

The Blatter "comments" scenario or the occasion could not be more perfect, on the day of FIFA Golden Ball 23 candidate list release the Oxford University video hits Spanish media & the Cristiano Roanldo ignition sparks fire. The immediate reaction which is perfectly acceptable was a back-lash from Spanish media calling for blood, a letter from Real Madrid calling that Blatter retract his words, a letter from the Portuguese Football Federation which took it to national levels, Real Madrid Coach Ancelotti defending his player ( what else could he do ),  a letter from Cristiano Roanldo representative Jorge Mendes calling for respect & Cristiano Ronaldo himself via his Facebook saying:

The reaction from Mr.Blatter was immediate saying that he was taken out of context & perhaps he was a bit too loose in behaviour & words. The FIFA President has asked for apologies & that he has the maximum respect for Ronaldo who is an exceptional player.

The FIFA President, the most "powerful man in World Football"  has had to say sorry for words he pronounced to a "simple" question at an Oxford University Forum. Why? Because Blatter is no longer as powerful as we ( he ) once thought, the man has surprisingly ( & perhaps unknowingly ) given reasons & arms to his long list of enemies waiting to "knock off the King". We may be witnessing the last months / year of reign for Mr.Blatter. However I am sure the "one man" will not go out the exit door without firing his guns & last bullets. Cristiano Ronaldo may have kissed away his possible chances for this years Golden Ball Award, its a real possibility, not to mention Spain losing in the upcoming Brazil World Cup...Real Madrid losing the Champions League???
Nahhh , not possible, right?

But Cristiano Ronaldo ( & Spain ) in the arena of World Football & "dirty politics" are just  instruments & not really important, a means to an end. Taking a Shakespearian line..."There is something smelly in Zurich".

Stay tuned for future developments.

MICROSOFT TO SPONSOR THE "NEW" REAL MADRID "SANTIAGO BERNABEU STADIUM" ?

This post is more for the Real Madrid followers outside of Spain. As you may already know the Spanish Football Club wants to modernize & put its current stadium well into the 21st Century. Like other Clubs around Europe ( Bayern Munich & Arsenal comes to mind ) Real Madrid wishes to expand their home ground & make their "Legendary Santiago Bernabeu Stadium" the crown jewel of the city of Madrid & of World Football.

This obviously costs money & one of the ways the Spanish Club will raise funds is to offer "joint sponsorship" of the Stadium name, a marketing practice common in World Sports.

Possible new sponsor ( its a montage )

The rumour was that a mayor Airline was in discussions with Real Madrid, but today Spanish online paper "elconfidencial" let known that the Technological giant "Microsoft" was in advanced talks. It is written that Bill Gates himself is driving the negotiations.

Real Madrid wants to have its Stadium modernized with construction finished for the summer of 2016, & if the story is true we could have by then the "Santiago Bernabeu - Microsoft Stadium".

What do you think?
