TENNIS | RAFAEL NADAL WINS MONTE CARLO MASTERS 1000

Spanish World Nº 1 ranked Tennis player RAFAEL NADAL won the MONTE CARLO MASTERS 1000 after defeating fellow Spaniard DAVID FERRER 6 - 4 ; 7 - 5 in a tough & long drawn out game between two clay court specialists. In fact, the clay court is Nadal´s favourite surface & apart from being undispuested as the "Best Clay Court Player in the World", he notched up his 7th straight Monte Carlo Tennis title.

Excellent shot in the arm for Nadal that should lift his confidence after falling twice to Novak Djorkovic in the last two finals on quick surface. The Tennis season now gets into full swing in Europe where clay courts are the norm, that will culminate with the "King" of all clay courts : The French Open.

From here, congratulations to Nadal for the victory & for David Ferrer - another clay court expert - whom both managed to fly high the Spanish flag in World Tennis this afternoon.

TENNIS: RAFAEL NADAL WINS HIS 5TH GODÓ TROPHY

"The king of the clay courts", Spanish & Tennis World Nº1 RAFAEL
NADAL has added another trophy to the collection. If last weekend
Nadal won his 5th straight Monte Carlo Masters, today he has won his
5th straight "Open Barcelona", also more commonly known as the
"Godó Trophy".

Rafael Nadal defeated fellow Spaniard DAVID FERRER, who has had
a fabulous tournament, in two straight sets: 6-2, 7-5. The latter had
options of extending the game in the second set but Nadal was just too
strong & presistent in his long ball play to frustrate Ferrer.

Nadal now goes onto the Masters Rome tournament which starts
tomorrow.

TENNIS: SPANIARD RAFAEL NADAL REMAINS WORLD ATP Nº1

Spanish Tennis player RAFAEL NADAL maintains his Nº1 ATP World
ranking after the standings were released by the Association today. The
Spaniards maintains a more than a thousand point lead over his next
rival, ex – Nº1 Roger Federer.

The other Spanish player in the Top 10 of the ATP listing is DAVID
FERRER with 2.490 points & in the 5th position.

DAVID FERRER WORTHY RUNNER UP AT SHANGHAI MASTERS

The Spaniard´s dream run ended against ROGER FEDERER in the
final of the Shanghai Masters Final. DAVID FERRER lost in 3 straight
sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 to the Swiss, who was absolutely in top flight.

However, its been a fabulous tournament for the Spaniard who won
the same games a Federer but just could´nt win in the important last

clash. SFS is sure we will see Ferrer in the future clinch some
important finals in upcoming tournaments.
