FC BARCELONA | TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR - AT MADRID ENTER THE DAVID VILLA SIGNING RACE ?

It seems clearer as the days pass that the future of Spanish International & FC Barcelona forward David Villa is elsewhere next season. The player is not a regular starter with Coach Vilanova & the player wishes to be a more participative asset, if not at Barça, elsewhere.

There are European & local Clubs very interested in gaining the services of David Villa. One of those Clubs is English Premier giant Arsenal FC which was very close to shutting a deal with Villa last January. The English Premier League Club is still in the front running where countrymen Cazorla & Arteta are there to help in the adaptation process if needed. 

According to the Barcelona based Spanish Sports newspaper "Sport" in today's edition, another English Club Tottenham Hotspurs has entered the picture along with Spanish Club Atletico de Madrid, both offering around 12M€, a bargain in my opinion . The latter secured their place in Champions League next season & this is a "pre-requisite" for a player of the calibre of Villa. However, Atletico de Madrid is also looking at Liverpool FC forward Luis Suarez which leaves you to wonder if their intentions are 100%.

The factor that will tip the balance for Villa will be his family. The player is keen to try English Football but his family is not so enthusiastic about needing to go overseas. Stay tuned!
