SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 13 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Great game between VALENCIA CF & the inform REAL BETIS
which finished 3-2 in favour of the former which puts them 3ºrd in the
classification table.

Valencia dominated the 1ºst half with goals from VILLA in the 10th
min & then MATA in the 20th, whiched prized their total control. However,
Betis is a good side & the over confidence of Valencia in the 2ºhalf saw
Betis exploit spaces & make a grand comeback starting with goals from
JUANMA in the 56th min & EMANA via a penalty in the 64th min.

That penalty caused a red card for Marchena leaving Valencia with 10

men with Real Betis running riot. But Valencia recomposed themselves &
managed the winner thanks to BARAJAS ( above) scoring a header in the
73rd min. Close call !

MALAGA continue their good play & call for respect as they brushed
aside OSASUNA in a high scoring 4-2 result. It all happened in 2ºnd half
with goals from Malaga via APOÑO ( above) & BAHA, but Osasuna pulled

both back via NEKOUNAM & FLAÑO. Then Malaga pulled something
extra out of the hat to score two more goals thanks to LUQUE & ELISEU
to clinch the game & the points

VILLAREAL secured their 2ºnd place on the classification table with
it´s 1-2 win against RECREATIVO. The Villareal scorers CARZOLA &
IBAGAZA ( above) put their team into the driving position, with a

late attempt which was´nt enough by Recreativo player ADRIAN who
scored Recreativo´s only goal.

REAL SPORTING maintain their good run with a worked victory
away to ESPANYOL 0-1. The winner came from CARMELO
(above) in the 29th min. Disappointing for Espanyol who´s Coach
"Tintin" is on the fineline & maybe replaced. Stay tuned!

DEPORTIVO started the season poorly but they are now hoovering
Uefa Cup positions with very good play. Today they continued to
maintain that excellent line with a win over ALMERIA thanks to the

solitary goal from VERDU (seen above). Final result 0-1

VALLADOLID is having an irregular season, but tonight they managed
to put it together over another irregular team as is MALLORCA.
Valladolid scored three goals - via CALVO, DORADO & GOITOM - to

overrun the opposition & secure the valuable three points. Final score
3-0

FERNANDO LLORENTE ( above) is having a fine season with his
team ATHLETIC DE BILBAO. His good form has earned him a
call up to the Spanish National team & he showed us why with

his teams two goals to give his team a 2-0 victory over NUMANCIA

Important game for ATLETICO DE MADRID who found that with
Deportivo´s win tonight , the latter had taken their 6th table spot
& Uefa Cup position. Plus they needed to win as the teams behind them
are close on points & a loss would have pushed them down the ladder.
Atletico had its star forward line up & they did ´nt disappoint with a
4-1 victory over
RACING DE SANTANDER.

Racing started well with a penalty given in the 7th min to TCHITE who
scored, but that would be Santander´s only goal. From here onward
Atletico found its play & began to move the ball around with efficiency.
Atletico equalized via SIMAO in the 20th min from a great Forlan pass,
then AGUERO got back on the scoring sheet after a dry month to put
Atletico ahead in the 33rd min.

The 2ºnd half was the DIEGO FORLAN show who was MVP & scored
two great goals - in the 77th min & 80th min - to seal his teams victory
& take his goal season tally to 8º goals.

Great win , Atletico needs to maintain this winning form to keep out a
series of teams who are breathing down their neck.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 13 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

GETAFE dismissed the idea that REAL MADRID were improving
after defeating Real in a decisive manner. The score line finished
3-1 in Getafe´s favour who could have scored 2 more goals.

But there was more bad news for Real Madrid with the injury of
Sneijder & Torres, putting more important players on the injury
list & shorting an already undermanned squad. Real have serious
manpower
problems.

Real Madrid were rattled with 2 goals from ALBIN - in the 2nd min
& 47th min - that highlighted all the defensive weakness this season as
Getafe dominanted.

SAVIOLA
scored a goal for Real in the 55th min to give hope of a
comeback, but that was just an illusion as Getafe continued pounding
the Madrid goal, so much so, they hit the post twice in the 63rd min
& the 79th min

The death goal came in the 83rd min thanks to Getafe forward
UCHE ( above) who celebrated with his usual spinning move with
joy.

Crisis times at Real Madrid, with Coach Schuster on the fine line as
their nightmares continues.

Big game were FC BARCELONA settled it with goals by
SAMUEL ETO´O in the 19th min, to take his seasons tally to 14
goals, & MESSI in the 83 rd min & the 91st min to help their team
defeat
SEVILLA FC 0-3.

Great game of Football, were Barça kept attacking all night with
numerous counter-attacks from Sevilla who had their chances & hit
the post. But Barça was superior in the end with a more effective play
& efficient finishing. Lionel Messi was absolutely outstanding!

See all the goals on Video:

FC Barcelona grab 3º points & open up a further gap as leader of the
Spanish League with the Real loss tonight. Both are scheduled to meet in
the
big Classic Derby on the 13 th December, which promises to be
an important meeting & big hugh
clash of titans

DANI GUIZA WINNING GOAL FOR FENERBAHCE

Nice to see that Spanish International DANI GUIZA is doing well
in Turkish Football & with his team FENERBACHE. Here is a video

of the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over BASIKTAS, a fine one at
that...cool as a cucumber:

Lets hope "YouTube" does´nt remove it :)

REAL MADRID TRANSFER RUMOURS 2008/09: KEIRRISON JOINS THE LIST

According to "As", 19 year old Brazilian revelation & forward
KEIRRISON is on the list of players that REAL MADRID look

for to strengthen its depleted forward line in the Winter market.

The youngster is currently with Brazilian Club CORITIBA & will

talk with Real Madrid after the 7th of December when the Brazilian
season comes to its end. Stay tuned!

Here is the kid in action:

However, two names have gained plenty of strengh in the speculation
stakes locally. They are Argentine forward & BENFICA player
DI MARIA & Dutch International & AJAX forward
HUNTELAAR

The latter will not be easy as Ajax will not be keen to lose him mid
season, but the 20M€ may convience. The former is reluctant to leave

BENFICA if he is to spend time on the bench at Madrid, he prefers to
play & if Benfica is the place so be it.

Video of Angel Di Maria in action:

Video of Klaus-Jan Huntelaar in action:

No doubt both are class acts

MARCELO OF REAL MADRID IS ANOTHER PINK PANTHER

If the original Football Pink Panther is Frenchman FRANCK RIBERY
- see the below post - REAL MADRID has its own version
with its left
back Brazilian International MARCELO.

Check out this video, as his fellow teammate Fabio Cannavaro "takes
the piss" out on Marcelo over his pink boots

UEFA CUP GROUP STAGE 2008/09: GREAT NIGHT FOR SPANIARDS

Great night for the Soanish teams in tonights Group games in the UEFA
Cup competition
. Three representatives that played well
with two
conviencing victories & a great comeback draw.

RACING DE SANTANDER travelled to Paris to play PARIS ST
GERMAIN
& managed a valient 2-2 draw with a comeback. The
French side got ahead with 2 goals via KEZMAN & LUYINDULA

to see how Racing fought back with goals from TRAORE &
COLSA ( above)

ROSENBORG lost 0-4 to VALENCIA CF with a superb late 2º
half that left the home side knocked out. Valencia scored via MATA in
the 21st min, but then 3º more goals in 14 mins by PABLO, BARAJAS
& JOAQUIN put the nail in the coffin.

Same story with DEPORTIVO who did a great 2º half to win Dutch
team FEYENOORD 3-0. The goals came from LOPO in the 30th min
(above), HOFLAND (o.g) in the 50th min & Mexican International
GUARDADO in the 51st min.

Great night for Spanish Football.

HUMOUR: FERNANDO TORRES FINALLY STOPPED

SFS thanks Jason, a regular SFS reader from Asia who contributes
with his comments, & today with this video which he says he picked
up from
another Web site titled "The Spoiler".

Jason knows beforehand that SFS has a "slight" Atletico de Madrid

inclination & has passed me this FERNANDO TORRES clip which is
worthy of a mention, if not for its humourous angle.

It looks like that one of the Worlds great forwards has finally come

up against his match. While most of the World´s defenders struggle to
stop Torres from scoring this German shepard dog has & can do the
job. Watch & see the dog in action:

Grand defending, perhaps Real Madrid should consider the signing of this
talented canine, will certainly improve their defense : )

SPANISH FOOTBALL 2008/09: ALL 4 TEAMS MOVE ON IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Spaniards are happy after their 4 representatives in the Champions
League managed to not lose & guarantee their place for the last
16 team phase. Spanish daily "Marca" leads the way with this good

news reminding its readers that the last time all 4 Spanish teams
managed to get to the last 16 teams was 5 years ago.

Villareal, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona & Atletico de Madrid can
be congratulated. However, out of the 4 Barça look to more
dangerous & Real Madrid the weakest, which can all change as
March 2009 is far off into the "Football future".

In all case, its good news

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP QUALIFIERS 2008/09: ATLETICO DE MADRID & FC BARCELONA WIN

The Spanish representatives of Group C & D in the Champions League
had their turn tonight & won their respective games. Here is a quick
summary of the scores, scorers & images.

Lets start with Group D & Atletico de Madrid , because SFS prefers

it that way :)

ATLETICO DE MADRID hosted PSV EINDOVEN in an empty
stadium, due to the Uefa sanction over the "violence" when Lyon
visited in their first game. That fact, & the cold atmosphere did not

hamper Atletico who won 2-1 & managed to go on to qualify for the
next
phase along with Liverpool ( both share the Group leadership).

In fact, Atletico played well & started early to show its dominance

with a goal by SIMAO in the 14th min, that was later followed with
another by MAXI RODRIGUEZ ( below) in the 27th min.

See his goal on video:

The 2º half was more of the same with good At.Madrid play but PSV

pulled one back early to create hope & put some nerves into Atleticos´s
system with a goal by KOEVWRMANS in the 47th min. But Atletico

held out, played their game & managed to hold on & stand still to
the Dutch.

FC BARCELONA are in great form & put on a show against
SPORTING LISBOA with a 2-5 victory. They are clear
leaders of Group C & have qualified for the next stage with
clear dominance
.

The 1ºst half saw Barça run riot with goals by HENRY in the
13th min & PIQUE in the 16th min, to later see Sporting gain its

head to at least halt the Barça onslaught.

However, Barça again opened the flood gates in the 2ºhalf with
more goals from MESSI in the 50th min, CARNEIRA in the 67th
min & BOJAN from the penalty spot in the 73rd min.

Sporting also got into the goal action in the 2ºhalf with goals from
VELOSO in the 65th min & LIEDSON in the 66th min...two minutes

of glory tonight for Sporting, but just 2 minutes!

Good win for Barça they look really good in Europe folks!

BRAZILIAN KAKA DRIBBLES WITH BOTH FEET (VIDEO)

A mate from Australia has just passed this video to me from "YouTube".
It´s AC Milan Brazilian star KAKA dribbling - with two balls!

Just f*cking amazing, & deserves to be on any blog. Whether its Football,
Sports or Current Affairs...whatever

PS. Getting comments that it´s a fake. Ok , fine, but its a bloody good

fake´.

RAUL GONZALEZ ANOTHER MILESTONE

He is the personafication of his Club, the Captain that rises from the
dead & scores when his team most needs him. By the way, SFS says
dead because the media constantly announce the end of RAUL
GONZALEZ & the player answers with goals.

Well it happened again yesterday in Champions League. Real Madrid
sadly lacking forwards ( Van Nistelrooy out for the season, Higuain

injuried...) needed to win Bate Borisov to qualify for the next phase,
& they did by a solitary goal. Guess who scored it?

The man not only scored yesterday but gained another milestone,
equaling Italian Filippo Inzaghi as the "All Time Maximum Goalscorer
In All European Competitions". Not bad for a "dead player".

The fact is that the REAL MADRID Captain is an extraordinary player
& his numbers have & will continue to shut lots of mouths. It´s precisely
the Raul Gonzalez philosophy, talk on the field!

Here is the list of players & goals in European Competitions:

Maximum Historical Goalscorers In All European Competitions:

1. Filippo INZAGHI (ITA/AC Milan) 64 goals
2. RAUL (SP/Real Madrid) 64
3. Gerd Müller (GER) 62
4. Andrei SHEVCHENKO (UKR/AC Milan) 61
5. Ruud VAN NISTELROOY (HOL/Real Madrid) 60
6. Eusebio (POR) 56
. Henrik LARSSON (SWE/Helsingborg) 56
8. Thierry HENRY (FRA/Barcelone) 54
9. Alfredo Di Stefano (ARG-SP) 50

Maximum Historical Goalscorers In Champions League:

1. RAUL (SP/Real Madrid) 62 goals
2. Ruud VAN NISTELROOY (HOL/Real Madrid) 60
3. Andrei SHEVCHENKO (UKR/AC Milan) 56
4. Alfredo Di Stefano (ARG-SP) 49
5. Eusebio (POR) 47
6. Thierry HENRY (FRA/FC Barcelone) 46
. Filippo INZAGHI (ITA/AC Milan) 46

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2008/09 GROUP QUALIFIER: REAL MADRID & VILLAREAL THROUGH TO NEXT STAGE

It was in the end a suffered victory for REAL MADRID over BATE
BORISOV 0-1, in the cold of Minsk. Real needed desperately to
win to guarantee its pass onto the next stage in Group H, apart from
lifting its confidence after a series of bad matches.

The first half was all Real Madrid & should have scored more,
that is, go beyond the goal scored by RAUL in the 7th min.

However, the 2ºhalf was a suffered affair as Bate Borisov attacked
& took control. Real were asking for the end as a goal from Bate would

have ruined their night. In the end, it was enough & the emotion of relief
run through the Spaniards. Real are not looking good at all, difficult times

will lay ahead.

The European Champions MANCHESTER UNITED were stopped
& halted by VILLAREAL as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Both
their Group E games have finished in a draws & both go through
to the next stage.

FRANCK RIBERY IS THE PINK PANTHER

This is not Spanish Football, but as SFS philosophy goes, anything
that is good, very good, deserves a mention even if it does´nt strictly

fit into the general lines.

This is FRANCK RIBERY, yes really, the French Bayern Munich
winger. Don´t believe me, check out the below video & see for yourself:

Brilliant! By the way, if a Nike executive sees this, send me an email &
I will give you my bank details for a cash transfer :)

MORE NAMES IN THE REAL MADRID TRANSFER OFFENSIVE

Hernán Crespo, Huntelaar, Diego Milito, Shevchenko, Oliveira, Arshavin,
Douglas Costa, Dentinho, Drogba, Zárate, Balotelli, Tévez, Adebayor,
Guilherme, Alex Mineiro, Vagner Love, Vucinic, Klose, Podolski, Ryan
Babel, Schweinsteiger, David Suazo...

Names currently on REAL MADRID list of possible signnings, as
handed out today by daily "Sport".

"...& the winner/s will be"?

REAL MADRID FLYS FOR SCHWEINSTEIGER

The 24 year old BAYERN MUNICH midfielder BASTIAN
SCHWEINSTEIGER
finishes contract June 30 2009, that makes

him elegible & attractive to all the mayor Clubs. Spanish daily "As"
comment that REAL MADRID officials with fly out to Munich &
talk to the Club & player

However, this has tinges of the Cristiano Ronaldo attempt. Top Munich
brass Karl Heinz Rummenige has commented that the player is a "born
& breed" ( Germans love to say this) Bayern player & the Club will do

everything to keep the talented player. Bayern may consider doubling
his salary to 6M€/year to convience Bastian to stay.

Real Madrid will soon exhibit its proposal, along with other interested

Clubs like Juventus, Inter, Arsenal & Liverpool. Ahhhhh, how
wonderful to be young & a brilliant Football player.

See why all the fuss ( by the way SFS did not pick the audio):

Stay tuned for developments!

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/09 - ROUND 12 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

The rest of Round 12 games of the Spanish League were played this
afternoon with the following results, scorers & images.

NUMANCIA managed to pull back the equalizer in the last
seconds of its match against ATLETICO DE MADRID to have
it´s game finish in a 1-1 draw. In the 95th min BARKERO
transformed a penalty that took the victory away from Atletico & they
deserved it, as the 2º half was all Numancia as they hit the post
3ºtimes that saw Atletico rattled.

Atletico got ahead via DIEGO FORLAN (above) who scored in the
33rd min from a Simao pass, but that was all the good news. Atletico
will be kicking themselves tonight - again!

Same thing at MALLORCA who cameback to equalize via
WEBO
(above) to finish it´s game in a 2-2 draw against inform side
MALAGA. RAMIS put Malaga ahead in the 12th min to have
JOSEMI equalize for Mallorca in the 17th min. Then BAHA put
again Malaga ahead with a brilliant goal in the 23rd min , but Webo
equalized in the 67th min to finish as it was.

RACING
put on a show winning ESPANYOL 3-0. The goals
came from MARCANO (9th m), CASTRO (26th m) &
PEREIRA (59th m) to give their side 3º valuable points.

REAL BETIS continue on it´s winning ways after taking over the game,
after REAL SPORTING DE GIJON got ahead, to
finish winning away
1-2. The goal from Gijon came from CASTRO to put them ahead, but
Betis scored via MONZON in the 52th m & EMANA in the 59th m.
Sporting could have
equalized in the 86th min but Bilic hit the post.

Finally OSASUNA won & well 3-1 against ALMERIA who got ahead
first via a penalty in the 6th min thanks to NEGREDO. However,
Osasuna
fought with tooth & nail & started it´s comeback via
PANDIANI (above) with his goal in the 13th min, followed by
RELLERANA (own
goal 71st m) & VADOCZ in the 95th min

Osasuna are second last & still have a long way to go if they wish to
get out of the relegation zone. But this is a good start.

FC BARCELONA hosted GETAFE without Messi to finish it´s game
in a 1-1 draw. Getafe played a grand 1ºst half as Barça looked very
sloppy. Getafe player MANU put them ahead in the 18th min with
a great goal.

The 2º half was all Barcelona as Getafe & its goalkeeper stopped
everything thrown at them, until KEITA equalized with a header from
an Alves pass in the 71st min. Shared points at "Camp Nou".

DEPORTIVO defeated & complicated ATHLETIC DE BILBAO 3-1
with goals from ZE CASTRO in the 19th min, VERDU in the 43rd min.
& GUARDADO in the 95stmin. MARTINEZ later pulled one back for
Bilbao in the 72th min, but it obviously
was´nt near enough.

TENNIS 2008: SPAIN DEFEATS ARGENTINA FOR ITS 3ºRD DAVIS CUP

FERNANDO VERDASCO (below)substituted in the last moment his
teammate - & higher ranked player - David Ferrer to take the winning
tie against Argentine JOSE ACASUSO 6-3, 6-7, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 to give
SPAIN its 3ºrd DAVIS CUP. It was simply an amazing comeback from
the Spaniard after the Argentine was 2 - 1 ahead & just wore himself out
by attempting to halt the Spaniards attacks. Spain wins 1-3 the 2008
Davis Cup & without its Nº1 World Ranked player Rafael Nadal.

It was precisely the announcement that Rafael Nadal would not
play due to his knee injury that made Spain the "underdogs".
The Argentine´s were at home with crowd support & the Spaniards
were lower ranked. But the Spanish team effort to lift itself up after
losing the first tie, via Feliciano Lopez who won Del Potro in the 2ºnd
to equalizes,
& the vital doubles victory put Spain ahead psychologically
yesterday & put all the
pressure on Argentina.

Fernando Verdasco went out with that advantage & with excellent
tennis gave his country the victory & the Davis Cup. Here is the VIDEO
of the winning point:

Historic win for this young & long term team (above), congratulations
to Argentina who were fabulous opponents.

SPANISH FOOTBALL- LA LIGA 2008/09- ROUND 12 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Saturday had three games of Round 12 on schedule & it has already
given a big surprise, plus its has given a ball of oxygen to Real Madrid.
Let´s
see a quick round up of the scores, scorers & images of the day.

REAL MADRID managed to put back on track its derailed team
after winning RECREATIVO with a solitary goal by Dutch midfielder
WESLEY SNEIJDER, who earlier had another goal disallowed.

See the VIDEO of the goal:

Vital win for Madrid as its Coach Schuster was under the microscope

with a sword hoovering over his head. However, bad news showed
its head with the injury of Higuaín who was replaced by Saviola, another

serious blow for the already depleted Real forward line.

The final result 1-0, but Real Madrid look out of touch & without
punch up front. It is still all too worrying!

The surprise result was the victory of VALLADOLID away to
VILLAREAL with a 0-3 result. The man of the game was
SESMA ( above) who scored twice in the 24th & 43rd min
along with teammate PRIETO in the 47th min
.

A moral blow for Villareal who were out played at home & will
need some fine tuning with the Champions League coming up this
week.

SEVILLA FC drew 0-0 with VALENCIA CF in a just result that saw
Valencia start strong to see it change for Sevilla´s advantage

towards the end. A draw that must have felt as a loss for both as they
lose points to FC Barcelona who leads the table with 3º points ahead
of all its rivals.

2009 CONFEDERATION CUP DRAW: SPAIN GETS "EASY" GROUP

South Africa was the place that held the Group draws for next years
Confederations Cup were the best of each continent will battle it out for
the title. The competition will take palce in South Africa on the following
dates: 14 - 28 of June 2009.

SPAIN , the current European Champions, fell into GROUP A along with
host South Africa, Irak & New Zealand.

GROUP B is more complicated, here we have Italy, Brazil, Egypt & USA

Spain kicks off with its first game on the 14 of June against New Zealand

GETAFE - KUNG FU FIGHTING - MARIO COTELO & COSMIN CONTRA

GETAFE FC does´nt get much rap on SFS because it gets eclipsed
by the bigger Clubs, but now it´s in & in a big way, although not for
Football reasons. Check the VIDEO out:

Teammates MARIO COTELO & COSMIN CONTRA got at hands,
with fist flying during training this afternoon. Coach Victor Muñoz
had to separate both players & risk to get them finally cooled.

Hopefully they can channel their energies in this weekends game!

REAL MADRID TRANSFER GOSSIP 2008: TEVÉZ FOR 2009?

Front page of today´s "Marca", "Tevéz says YES to Madrid" -
for 2009. More names being heralded to join REAL MADRID.
The score is the following, Manchester United has Tevéz on

"loan" & to transform the player into 100% property, the English
Club needs to fork out 37M€ before the 31 of January 2009.

Real Madrid feels that Man Utd will not pay & wish to secure the
player for next year, along with two more World Class players.

Stay tuned!

REAL MADRID 2008: MORE NAMES TO SUBSTITUTE VAN NISTELROOY

The Hernán Crespo option has soured, as the Inter player wishes a
contract until 2010 & Real Madrid only wishes a loan until June
2009.

This has lead to speculation, with "Marca" giving the scoop that the
viable option could now be MAURO ZARATE (below) the Argentine
& LAZIO forward. The forward has had a great start to the season

with 7 goals from 11 games & has caught the attention of the big
clubs.

Lazio is considering exercising its buying option as the player is on loan
from Qatar team Al Sadd, which may complicate the Real Madrid
desires.

Another name doing the press rounds is Argentine forward & now
GENOA player DIEGO MILITO. The player is currently the leading
goalscorer in Serie A & knows well the Spanish League as he played
many seasons with Real Zaragoza.

Plenty of names being published & speculation is ripe at this moment.
Stay tuned!

THE AT.BILBAO & CONGO CONNECTION: THE HUMAN FACE OF FOOTBALL

Kids from the Congo give thanks to ATHLETIC DE BILBAO. This is
the best news today; it beats that AC Milan coach ANCELOTTI is
negotiating with Real Madrid (according to Marca) as Schuster´s days
are numbered & that Arshvin is closer to Real Madrid while Hernan
Crespo drifts due to his 2010 contract demands.

Here is the brief: Athletic de Bilbao donated Football gear & balls to the
children of Kiwu in the Congo region (Africa). In a sign of their deep
appreciation, the kids got together to make this video clip of their group
singing the At.Bilbao Club anthem.

It’s emotional stuff. A true sign of Football stretching ties beyond frontiers
& showing its human face. Football can break all barriers, as so with
Sport in general!

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY 2008: SPAIN 3 - CHILE 0

CHILE is a good side. Full of illusion, class players, pride & were an
excellent sparring partner tonight althought they lost
3-0 against
SPAIN.

However, Spain are on another level, they played with class, passing the

ball around as if on a billiard table. Young At.Bilbao player Fernando
Llorente debuted in the 2ºhalf, Torres was back & scored, Xavi was
sublime, Villa is just there, Riera was solid, Cesc magic, Ramos - good

to see you back, Capdevila the man, Senna the wall, Alonso vision...
& on & on.

DAVID VILLA scored the penalty in the 36th min to become the 5th
highest scorer in the National Team History...he will score more.

FERNANDO TORRES came on for Villa in the 2º half & scored from
a brilliant Xavi start up, all in the 69th min. Then CAZORLA scored
Spain´s third in the 86th min taking a deflection from Chilean Carmona

Excellent result for Spain, undefeated in 28 straight games retaining the Nº1
World ranking & showing magic all night. Chile should be proud, they have
a team that can qualify for the World Cup if things go their way.

HERNAN CRESPO & REAL MADRID BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS

INTER MILAN President Moretti said yesterday..." if Crespo is
happy going to Real Madrid", this has opened the door for
HERNAN
CRESPO
to leave Inter if desired.

Today the local Sports dailys speak of REAL MADRID & the Argentine

Hernan Crespo organizing a meeting to find a "common ground". The
Italian daily "La Gazzetta dello Sport" go further & say that the players

representative, Fernando Hildalgo will fly to Madrid to sit down with Real
Football Director Pedga Mijatovic.

The current obstacules are:
1. Real Madrid wishes Crespo´s services only until June 2009
2. Crespo wishes a contract until 2010

Hernan Crespo has gained weight as the substitute to Van Nistelrooy
after AC Milan said publically that the Andrei Shevchenko option was
not on, & Roma discarded Mirko Vucini

Stay tuned!

U/21 FRIENDLY 2008: PORTUGAL 4 - SPAIN 1

It was an U/21 International Friendly but SPAIN got whipped
4-1 to PORTUGAL thanks to the man below, ORLANDO who scored
a HAT TRICK along with teammate RUI PONTE who scored the

other goal.

The only goal for Spain came from PAREJO from the penalty spot.

Here is the summary details:
