DIEGO FORLAN SEEN AS SUBSTITUTE FOR BERBATOV AT TOTTENHAM

English Premier League club TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS wishes &
sees ATLETICO DE MADRID
Uruguayian forward DIEGO
FORLAN
as the substitute for its current striker BERBATOV. The
English club will make an offer of 15M€ for Forlan, which is way
short of what Atletico paid to Villareal to get him to Madrid, which
was 21M€.

Forlan has contract with Atletico until 2011 & a release clause
of 36M€, which makes it all unlikely & improbable that the
Atletico forward will go anywhere next season.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 30/ 2008 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

The Spanish League is hotting up & coming to its natural climax for
the season with the top half super competitive for the top spots &
European positions, along with the bottom half with teams fighting
to avoid the relegation. Tonight Racing de Santander becomes another
European candidate with its win & they are tied with Atletico de
Madrid on points , now both are pushing for the 4ºth place Champions
League position. Lastly, Real Madrid won & manage to keep at bay the
now 2ºnd placed Villareal with a 5º points gap & open a 7º point gap
with 3ºrd placed FC Barcelona.

MALLORCA
consolidate its place in the middle of the table & take
away the little hope VALENCIA CF had to finish well with the rest
of the games left this season with its 0 - 3 victory. The main
protagonist was DANI GUIZA ( above) who scored twice in the 11th
& 57th min to take his season tally to 17 goals. His teammate RAMIS
scored as well in the 19th min with a super free kick.

DEPORTIVO
seem to be finding some end of season form as they
defeated a "doomed for 2º division" REAL MURCIA 3-1. Deportivo
player XISCO ( above) scored a HAT TRICK with goals in the 21st,
46th & 48th min. While for Murcia, who scored first & early in the first
minute thanks to
DE LUCAS got on the scoring card.

VALLADOLID needed a win & did not fail to put more end of season
pressure on REAL ZARAGOZA with its 2-1 win. Zaragoza started well
win a goal by ZAPATER in the 28th min. However, the 2ºhalf saw a
vitalized Valladolid with goals from VICTOR ( penalty) in the 52th min
& from their top scorer LLORENTE in the 75th min. Great &
important win for Valladolid & dangerous times for Zaragoza
looking at 2º division.

Racing have placed themselves 5ºth on the ladder on equal
points with Atletico who is 4th & are now both competing for the
prized last ticket to Champions League next season. RACING
defeated today one time Euro contenders ESPANYOL 0-3 with
goals from SERRANO ( 14th min) , MUNITIS (24th min) &
BOLADO (94thmin)

GETAFE had the wind taken out of their sails by OSASUNA who
won 0-2 away & grab some relief in the competitive bottom end of
the ladder. The real action took place in the 2ºhalf with goals from
M.FLAÑO (above) & PUÑAL ( penalty) in the 69th min.

RECREATIVO
is attempting to escape relegation & a win was
vital today, however that opportunity escaped them & they
had to settle for a 1-1 draw against ATHLETIC DE BILBAO.
AMOREBIETA´s own goal put Recre ahead, but in the 82th
min ADURIZ ( above) managed the equalizer for Bilbao.
Shared points!

ALMERIA
is having a splendid first season in "La Liga" & won
bottom of the ladder LEVANTE 2-1. SORIANO ( above) scored
in the first minute for Almeria & F.MELO followed with the
second in the 35th min. Levante fought hard - they needed to -
& were rewarded with a consolation goal via IBORRA in the
last minute.

REAL MADRID had to win a very tough opponent SEVILLA FC
to keep at bay & open a points gap with both Villareal & FC
Barcelon & tonight they did not fail winning 3- 1, although the
game was a battle with 7 yellow cards shown.

The Argentine Real Madrid defender HEINZE ( above) scored a
header in the 7th min from a Sneijder free kick to open the scoreline
for his team. Sevilla reacted & equalized via KANOUTE in the 37th min
to then see - that man - RAUL scored with craftmanship & skill Real
Madrid´s
second as seen below celebrating.

The second half saw a see-saw affair with Real Madrid keping its nerve,
& they were rewarded with the all important tranquilizing 3ºrd goal in the
65th min by Argentine HIGUAIN. Sevilla then went all out but it was´nt
enough, as Real held its head & controlled the game to take the 3ºpoints.

Great match, as the Spanish League gets exciting.

MOTO GP. JEREZ 2008 BRINGS THE PASSION

The spectacle of Moto GP has finished today at JEREZ ( Spain) with
more than 132.000 spectators & fabulous bike races in all catagories.
Mixed day for Spanish riders, with lots of spills & trills that kept the
emotion high.

The 125 cc catagory was full of passion as always , as seen above with
Webb & Olivé going down. The winner was the Italian CORSI who did
a great race followed by Spaniard TEROL & the Brit SMITH.

Result: Corsi, Terol (Sp) & Smith
World points table: 1. Corsi 34pts; 2.Bradi 29pts; 3.Terol 26pts

The 250cc catagory was on edge stuff with a surprise in the
last lap. Spanish rider ALVARO BAUTISTA was defending the
first position from Italian MARCO SIMONCELLI, when suddenly
Bautista´s motor broke which swayed the back end to see Marco
crash into the bike & cause both riders to fall & leave the race.
The above picture shows the "dog fight" between both riders on
the edge! See the Video of the last lap:

To Mika Kalio´s surprise he found himself the winner, with Mattia
Pasini second & Yuki Takahashi next to complete the podium.

Result: 1. Kalio; 2. Pasini; 3. Takahashi
World points table: 1.Pasini 45pts; 2.Kalio 41pts;
3. H.Barberá (Sp.)

In the GP catagory Spanish rider DANI PEDROSA ( above) ruled
from start to finish in an exhibition of perfect riding to take the
race & jump ahead in the World points table.
Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi & his Spanish teammate Jorge
Lorenzo came in 2ºnd & 3ºrd respectively.
Current World Champ, Casey Stoner had a terrible day on a track
that is not to his liking as he went out twice & finished 11th.

Result: 1. D.Pedrosa; 2.V.Rossi;
3. J.Lorenzo
World points table
: 1. Pedrosa 41pts; 2. Lorenzo 36pts; 3. Rossi 27pts

NEXT RACE - 13.04 Estoril PORTUGAL

REAL BETIS 3 - FC BARCELONA 2 2008 VIDEO: LESSON OF HOW TO LOSE A GAME

Lesson One of Football. How to lose a game & possibly the Spanish
League title. Class given against Real Betis in Round 30 of "La Liga".

From Barcelona humour ( & anger) from daily "Sport" via its
cartoon section "Futbolitis"

Comment rom someone in the toilet: "...Need to keep fighting,
its mathematically possible"
Title: "Please will someone pull the chain to start again from zero"

VILLAREAL 3 - ATLETICO DE MADRID 0 - 2008 VIDEO : LESSONS TO AVOID IN DEFENCE

Second Lesson of Football. How not to defend by Atletico de Madrid.
Class given at Villareal in Round 30 of "La Liga"

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 30/ 2008 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Two games played tonight of Round 30 & the race for the League
title takes another colour - yellow - as FC Barcelona lost & Villareal
won to take the latter ahead of Barça on the classification table.

Oh Dear! FC BARCELONA played away to REAL BETIS & lost
the match 3-2, & the 2º place on the classification table. Rijkaard´s
men went in at half time 0-2 ahead & saw all that effort destroyed
at the end of the match with a marvellous Betis comeback that lifted
the stadium.

Barcelona got off the a flying start with young BOJAN ( above) scoring
again this week in the 12th min, that was quickly followed by a second
goal 2ºmins
later with a SAMUEL ETO´O header.

However from the 45th min onwards, Barça lost control of the whole
game & were "steamrolled" by Betis with EDU (above) being the
main protagonist scoring twice.

Edu started the comeback with a goal in the 63rd min, then missed
a penalty in the 75th min. But a minute later JUANITO hooked a
brilliant shoot that equalized the game, to later see Edu return in
the
78th min with the third Betis goal & winner.

Huge loss for Barça, tough week ahead for them & coach Rijkaard.

VILLAREAL
tramped all over ATLETICO DE MADRID to win
3-0 & take them 2º on the ladder ahead of Fc Barcelona. It was
90 mins of the Villareal show, with the Atletico defence once again
failing in this big occasion. Added to this the Aguero - Forlan team
upfront for Atletico was non-existent as they were effectively cancelled
by Villareal.

CAZORLA (above) got Villareal going with his goal in the 38th min
after an Atletico defensive mistake by Perea. Then 4 mins later Villareal
Turkish star NIHAT scored the 2º goal to set his team on sail for victory.

The Turk, NIHAT (below) again scored in the 67th min to seal the
3 points & take
his team ahead of Barça in the race for the League title.

Worthy win , excellent game from Villareal as Atletico were not in the
match at all. Now Atletico must keep at bay Racing & Sevilla for the
4th place Champions position on the classification table.

FC BARCELONA NEWS 2008: RONALDINHO THREATENS TO LEAVE & XAVI ON THE CHELSEA AGENDA

RONALDINHO´s time at FC BARCELONA is over. The player
has been complaining the last 5 weeks of muscle problems that a
medical exam diagnose show are false & non-existent. The club is sick
& tired of the Brazilians "late night activities" that does not allow
him to turn up to training, this they claim is the reason for his
poor form. Add to this comments by Luis Fernandez , ex coach at
Paris St-Germain, that the player was then undisciplined, a late
night party man & an individualist & you have a very bad
environment at "Camp Barça".

Yesterday his representative & brother Roberto de Assis commented
on a Brazilian web site & again on "Radio Marca", that his player
could
leave FC Barcelona via FIFA´s Articule 17 that allows a player
with more then 3 years service of contract to leave his current club.
The representative even went further to speculate that Real Madrid
could be a fine alternative
(along with Milan). However today, the
representative commented that the news was false.

What´s clear is that too many people have seen the Brazilian in not
too good
conditions in the Barcelona night, that the player is not
injuried & simply
does not wish to play & that Barça have seen that
his time as the "Best Player in the World" are over & wish to get back
on their investment.

All these stories are being put out to cause the fan base to accept the
selling of their idol & to not give problems to the Barça directives.
Very sad indeed, another fall of a great player, who perhaps is burning
himself with the bright & tasty Barcelona lights.

Finishing on a positive note, Barcelona paper "Sport", comment
that English club CHELSEA FC has 28 year old
FC BARCELONA
player XAVI HERNANDEZ on its agenda & may put on the table
a contract until 2012. Its going to be difficult to lure Xavi to London,
but hey, if the price is right, right? Stay tuned.

ATLETICO MADRID TRANSFER SWAP FOR 2008-09?

According to Italian media & picked up locally by "Mundo Deportivo",
the Italians are speculating of a possible swap of players between AC
ROMA
23
year old AQUILINA ( below) & ATLETICO DE MADRID
player
JOSE ANTONIO REYES.

Jose Antonio Reyes has not been effective at all at Atletico & has not
justified the high investment. Atletico directives are disappointed &

may wish to find a way out for the player.

REAL TRANSFER RUMOURS 2008-09: THE LIST OF SCHUSTER

Spanish daily "Marca" have put on their cover today the players
that currently (repeat current) REAL MADRID coach Bernd

Schuster has on his list of wished players for next season.

They are, according to "Marca" & total speculations:

Karem Benzema (Olympique Lyon)
Klauss-Jan Huntelaar (Ajax of Amsterdam)
Christian Poulsen (Sevilla FC)
Ricardo Quaresma (Oporto)

Mario Gomez (Sttugart)
Dani Alves (Sevilla FC)

They are on the "Marca" cover, but also being speculated are Diego
(Bremen), Luis Fabiano (Sevilla FC) & ¿Ronaldinho (Fc Barcelona)?

BUT STOP! BACK TO REALITY! The cost of all these mentioned
players makes it all a "wank", there are other Big clubs after them
& in the end out of 8 mentioned, with luck, you may get 2 players.

SFS will keep its reader updated. Stay tuned

friendly game:

REAL MADRID TRANSFER RUMOURS 2008: DE LA RED, XAVI ALONSO & LUIS FABIANO

The English daily "The Sun" has announced that LIVERPOOL
coach Rafael Benitez is interested in Getafe & new Spanish
International player RUBEN DE LA RED. The news has been
picked up locally by "AS", & add that Liverpool offer REAL
MADRID its Spanish palyer XAVI ALONSO in a swap deal , as
Real has a buying option over De La Red.

Here is the deal, Real Madrid sold De La Red to Getafe for 3M€ with
a buying option of 4.5M€. What Liverpool is offering is to give to Real
Madrid its player Xavi Alonso with a 10M€ more, in exchange for
De La Red. This last bit has been published as well in todays "Mundo
Deportivo" which also picked up the English story.

Lastly, local daily "Marca" publish that Sevilla FC will not put
obstacules in LUIS FABIANO´s path if he decides to keep on
speaking with Real Madrid. In fact, things are looking like that
Fabiano maybe very close to going over to Real Madrid next
season. At least at this moment.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY 2008: SPAIN 1 - ITALY 0

SPAIN has defeated the current World Champions ITALY 1- 0,
thanks to a 78th min goal by Valencia CF forward DAVID VILLA.
The game was an International friendly encounter were both teams

used the occasion to test out new line-ups & players for the upcoming
Euro 2008 competition.

Italy as always are a tough nut to crack, as the 1º half showed
with Spain dominating & Italy using its experience & "know-how"

to counter-attack & cause some danger. The highlight was a Toni
header that went into the Spanish net but was disallowed due to the
off-side , & Spanish defender Puyol leaving due to injury. Apart from
that both sides had their strong teams on & were balanced throughout

the 45 mins

The 2º half saw the usual changes in both sides with Torres, Senna
& Silva giving way to Villa, L.Garcia & Riera for Spain. The "status-

quo" continued until a Cannavaro bad heading clearance fell to
DAVID VILLA who volleyed a brilliant ball into the Italian goal

as seen below.

That was it, an Italian mistake gave Spain the victory. The last point
of interest is that Arbeloa debuted for Spain in the 74th min.

The conclusion is that this was a friendly & Spain needs more games

to jell better as a team. However the signs a very positive & there
should be reigning optimism in the Spanish camp. It´s not everyday
that one can defeat Italy, who played their normal tight game & were
unlucky, although beaten.

U/21 EURO 2009 CLASSIFICATION: SPAIN REMAIN TOP OF THEIR GROUP

The Spanish U/21 National team defeated yesterday KAZAJISTAN
5-0
in its Group qualification game for next years EURO finals
in Sweden. The Spanish squad maintains its
5 straight wins & leads
with 3ºpoints ahead of Russia its Group.

Apart from the great game & the 5º goals, the highlight was a

spectacular overhead bicycle goal from Fc Barcelona star BOJAN
( pictured below)

Next game will be against Russia on the 20th of August. Here´s are
the "statistics" of yesterdays game:

SPAIN 5
Roberto; Miguel Torres, Piqué, Torrejón, Monreal; Sisi, Raúl García
(Javi García, m.62), Jurado; Bojan (Sola, m.45), Mata (Callejón, m.45)
& Capel.

KAZAJISTAN 0
Shabanov, Zumabayev, Borotnikov, Kislitsyn, Logvinenkov,
Shakhmetov (Noskov, m.65), Borovskiy (Khassenov, m.58),
Nurgaliyev, Kenbayev (Sabalakov, m.69), Azovskiy & Kukeyev.

Goals: 1-0, m.8: Jurado. 2-0, m.27: Capel. 3-0, m.31:
Bojan. 4-0, m.37: Mata. 5-0, m.60: Callejón.

SKY SPORT ASKS ENGLAND TO SUPPORT THE SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM IN EURO 2008 (SEE VIDEO)

SFS has a large readership from England ...Hi mates! From that land
& from its TV Channel "Sky Sports" comes this funny TV ad
that calls for English men & women to support the Spanish National
Team for the upcoming Euro 2008 Competition. Why?

The main reason is that the England Squad will not be part of this
years European Nations Cup competition, as they did not pass the
group stage. To dampen the depression & cheer up the folks at home,
Sky Sport thought why not support Spain this summer as hundred of
thousands of English men & women will holiday in "sunny Spain"
& be able to live it together with Spaniards.

The video takes on all the stereotype images, concepts of Spain & of
Spaniards to finds "similiarities" between both Footballing nations &
give
it all a funnyside. Take a look , its a good laugh & its important
to have a daily dose of humour in our lives. Nice one.

JOHN HEITINGA HAS AGREEMENT WITH ATLETICO DE MADRID FOR 5 YEARS

Big news from Dutch paper "Del Telegraaf" & picked up here by
"AS", that Dutch International & AJAX OF AMSTERDAM 24
year old defender JOHN HEITINGA ( pictured below) has come
to an agreement with ATLETICO DE MADRID as of next season,

for the next 5 years.

With the players OK, Atletico needs to iron out the details &

economic issues with Ajax, although it looks a done deal. The
players release clause is 10M€ & the player assures media that
Atletico will pay that amount.

Atletico is strenghening its defence as this season is showing it is
a weak spot.

SPANISH FOOTBALL VIOLENCE AGAIN AT SEVILLA. A DISEASE TO BE ERRADICTED

More mindless violence in Spanish Football. The video shows how
Sevilla FC "fans" bash & beat an Atletico de Madrid follower in the
outskirts of the "Sanchez Pizjuan" Stadium at last Saturday´s game

between both clubs. The only reason ( although SFS admits it does
not know the full story)
is that the victim belongs to the other team.
As you can see these animals attacked in a group like dogs & in a
cowardly manner without anyone there to lend a hand.

This is a disease & SFS thinks it is embedded in the very fabric of our

society. The authorities must begin to take the necessary action along
with the actual clubs if this behaviour is to at least be controlled, if not
erradicated. We need
to avoid at all cost in reaching a situation were
you cannot take your kids, your parents , your friends or go yourself, to
a Football match because you risk your life. Shocking & shameful
images for Sevilla, their normal law abidding followers & citizens &
Spanish Football
images Internationally.

Its becoming a habit that from Sevilla ( Sevilla FC & Real Betis) most
of the big news violent incidents are be generated.

BEST GOALKEEPER: CASILLAS OR BUFFON?

Taking advantage of the fact that SPAIN plays ITALY next Wednesday
night at Elche (Spain) in a friendly International game, Spanish Sports
media (eg. "Marca"), ask the question:
Who is the best goalkeeper in the World at the moment, Real Madrid
player CASILLAS or Juventus player BUFFON?

This is obviously a media hype exercise, but what´s your thoughts?
Others that need to be considered as well?

YOUNGSTERS DEMAND THEIR PLACE

The "Bojan Generation" that´s the term being used by local sports
media to describe the young Spanish Football players coming out
of the junior levels & getting their chance & a spot in their señior
teams.

We all know about young Bojan Krkic & his success at Fc Barcelona,
but his U/17 Spanish European Champions & U/17 Sub-World
Champion teammates IGNACIO CAMACHO ( left) & DANI
AQUINO ( right) have also jumped into their respective señior

sides, ATLETICO DE MADRID for Camacho & REAL MURCIA
for Aquino. Great news for Spanish Football & the future looks
bright. SFS will be keeping track on the evolution.

DE LA RED: FROM A REAL MADRID "REJECT" TO SPANISH INTERNATIONAL

RUBEN DE LA RED, 22 year old Spanish midfielder who plays in
GETAFE, was called up last Saturday to form part of the list of
Spanish players to represent his country in the upcoming International
friendly game against ITALY next Wednesday night in Elche (Spain).

Grand achievement, as he was "rejected" this season by his long time
club REAL MADRID were he was a junior & a B -side player. De La
Red jumped to the señior side last year & after a few "try outs" could not
get a place in the Real Madrid A-side. The places were taken by foreign
players of the
calibre of Diarra, Sneidjer, Gago, Guti, Drenthe,
Baptista, Higuain...etc.

To find a solution & to give the youngster much needed playing minutes,
Real Madrid loaned the player to Getafe with an option to get him back
the following season, an option Real are sure to exercise at the end of this
season.

De La Red has proven that given confidence, games & minutes that he
can be a valuable asset to any team, so much so, that his performance
has
helped put Getafe in the Spanish Cup Final, maintain them in the
Uefa Cup were
they now play Bayern Munich in the Q/finals & has
steered Getafe into a current & respectable 9th place on the Spanish
League ladder.

Hopefully his dreams will come true & he will be given the chance to
debut as an International next Wednesday. The player himself is happy
with Getafe & very grateful, but he would enjoy very much to return
to Real Madrid & triumph with a regular place there & continue his
development.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: REAL MADRID 2 - VALENCIA 3 & FC BARCELONA 4 - VALLADOLID 1

Here are the VIDEO highlights of the Real Madrid 2 - Valencia 3 &
FC Barcelona 4 - Valladolid 1 matches played Saturday & yesterday
in Round 29/ 2008.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 29/ 2008 RESULTS

SFS has just arrived from a few days in the countryside & has overcome
the sufferring long traffic jams, multiple luggage & the screaming
kids. Now that I am free from family obligations, here is a summary
of Round 29 "liga" results :-)

The Spanish 1º Division is "red hot" again after REAL MADRID
let go a possible victory with a penalty & "bad" defending,
that gave the victory to VALENCIA CF 2-3. This now
narrows
the gap with Fc Barcelona to only 4º points & the final race for
the title now is´nt a one horse affair.

Valencia started strong with a goal from DAVID VILLA in the 33rd
min, that caused Real Madrid to get its act together & begin working
well with Guti taking control. The team hooked up well & found
RAUL who scored twice with brilliant goals in the 34th & 56th
min.

Real were in control but failed on numerous occasions to seal the
game with missed chances; that & some unbelievable saves from
Valencia goalie HILDEBRAND, would make Real pay the price in
the
latter part of the match.
The failure to "kill off" Valencia gave them confidence & Real Madrid
defender Cannavaro would become the unlucky protagonist with his
"stupid" penalty to Silva , that DAVID VILLA scored to equalize in
the
67th min, & ARIZMENDI who made the Italian look "old" to
score
the winner in the 89th min.

Harsh punishment for Real who played well, but sinned in letting
off the hook Valencia, added with some terrible defensive errors.

FC BARCELONA won 4-1 against VALLADOLID & cuts the gap
with Real Madrid to just 4ºpoints. SAMUEL ETO ´O scored first in
the 21st min, to have Valladolid equalize in the 30th min via SESMA.
However, the Barça machine slowly began reeving up & INIESTA
scored early in the 2ºhalf in the 47th min to put them ahead. Then
youngster BOJAN ( above) scored twice in the 62th & 84th min to
secure the victory & grab the valuable 3 points. The pressure is now
back onto Real Madrid.

VILLAREAL keeps the pressure on Barça staying 2º points behind
them in 3ºrd place, after defeating LEVANTE 1-2. The goals came
from MATI FERNANDEZ in the 27th min, but Levante equalized
in the 65th via MIGUEL ANGEL, to finally have GUILLE FRANCO
grab the victory in the 83th min. Important win for Villareal who
keeps the pressure on the leaders & consolidates its Champions
League table position.

REAL BETIS continue bettering with its win over OSASUNA
0-1 thanks to the goal in the 53rd min by MARK GONZALEZ
(above)

Top game that finished in a just manner , a 1-1 draw between
REAL ZARAGOZA & ALMERIA. Zaragoza started well & scored
via RICARDO OLIVEIRA (above) in the 68th min, but
NEGREDO equalized in the 89th min.

RACING enter Uefa positions with its victory 2-0 over
RECREATIVO. The victory was only managed & hard work was
needed as the goals came in 81st min thanks to ORTEMAN &
in the 94th via SMOLAREK. Some sweat, blood & tears by Racing!

Second last team REAL MURCIA "surprised" with a 4-0 win over
RCD ESPANYOL. Goals came by IVAN ALONSO ( 35th & 47th min),
ABEL in the 63rd & RICHI in the 85th min. Espanyol is in a tough
battle with Racing & Sevilla for the remaining Euro position & this
results does not help their cause.

MALLORCA won 1-0 against DEPORTIVO thanks to the only goal
by ARANGO in the 22nd min; that could have been more, but Mallorca
just could´nt get to ball into the net to add to its solitary goal.

SEVILLA FC had the chance to grab the 4th spot & Champions
League
"ticket" position against ATLETICO DE MADRID on
Saturday & failed. It was vital that Atletico win & they did not fail
this time with a 1-2 victory,
that had Atletico Argentine sensation Aguero
as the protagonist in more ways than one.
It was a tough encounter, as the circumstance called for & Atletico
scored first via MAXI RODRIGUEZ from a Simao pass in the 18th min.
The game see-sawed & Sevilla equalized in the 48th min thanks to
CAPEL.
Then SERGIO AGUERO played his part, firstly by causing
the red card to Maresma after the latter headbutted the Argentine.
Sevilla with 10 men then saw how Aguero sneaked behind the defensive
line to score the winner in the 57th min.
Atletico consolidates its 4th position with a 2º point on gap on Racing &
a 5ºpoint gap on Sevilla Fc.

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO grab 8th spot on the table after winning
in form GETAFE by a solitary goal from above pictured ETXEBERRIA
in the 28th min. Final score 1-0

SPANISH CUP 2008: VALENCIA CF INTO THE FINAL

Short , sharp & sweet. VALENCIA FC defeated tonight FC
BARCELONA 3-2 to go into the final against Getafe in the
SPANISH CUP

BARAJA
scored in the 17th min followed by MATA (below) in the

44th & 65th min.

Fc Barcelona reacted late with goals from THIERRY HENNRY &
SAMUEL ETO´O in the latter part of the game, but too late.

Aggegrate score in Valencia´s favour 4-3

REAL MADRID NEWS 2008: LOOKS FOR A FORWARD.

REAL MADRID are Van Nistelrooy reliant upfront, & the Dutchman
was yesterday operated in Holland for his injuried ankle. The
player will be out for about 6 weeks & Real will be without their
main goalscorer for the important upcoming League games as
it fights to keep out Fc Barcelona & Villareal for the top spot.

Add to this that Van Nistelrooy & Raul are 32 years old & getting
on a bit, & that Robinho is also nursing an injury; Real have
problems.

To solve this Real Madrid have a list of 5 top class forwards the
they wish to sign for next season & are working already to get
the needed solid Nº9. They are:

Luis Fabiano ( Sevilla FC)
David Villa (Valencia CF)
Huntelaar (Ajax of Amsterdam)
Didier Drogba ( Chelsea FC)
Ibrahimovic ( Inter Milan)

SFS thinks that the best placed forwards on the list are Luis Fabiano
( rumoured to be alraedy talking) & David Villa ( a long wished desire).
The other 3 are either "old" or difficult to get out of their clubs due
to the
high transfer price. Stay tuned!

THE FERNANDO TORRES CHANT ("THE ARMBAND SONG") - BY THE KOP - A HIT!

Spanish International & LIVERPOOL FC forward FERNANDO
TORRES
is a hit in more ways than one. He currently has 27 goals

( 20 in the Premier League) & his a sensation, some are saying
causing "Torres-mania" in a city famous for the "mania phenomenon"

Now Liverpools fans have craeted a song for Torres that is sang at
matches.Using the fact that while at Atletico de Madrid
his Captains Armband have written "You´ll Never Walk Alone" a
song has been constructed. Here is the video and the words...

His armband proved he was a red
Torres Torres
you'll never walk alone it said
Torres Torres

We bought the lad from sunny spain
He gets the ball and scores again
Fernando torres
Liverpools number nine!!

Great to see Fernando Torres scoring & happy
Its on its way into the charts:)

FC BARCELONA NEWS & HUMOUR 2008

The daily "Sport" publish that Argentine International &
DEPORTIVO DE A CORUÑA central defender FABRICIO
COLOCCINI is "flirting" with FC BARCELONA to be their
new defender for next season.

The players representative is conversing with Barça directives

Staying at "Camp Barça", the Catalan humour is well known in
Spain & the dialy "El Mundo Deportivo" has put its bit via its
cartoon section "Pelotazos" by Kap.

A couple of days ago French forward THIERRY HENRY described
Fc Bracelona with the "BEATLES" ( SFS does nt know really why) &
the press has´nt let that go unnoticed, specially today that Barça
plays tonight its place in the final of the Spanish Cup against Valencia
CF.

Here we have the "fabulous four": Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto´o & Henry.

SPANISH CUP 2008: GETAFE REPEAT FINAL

GETAFE won RACING DE SANTANDER 3-1 in the 1º leg of the
SPANISH CUP semi-final & Racing needed to do a great game to in
the 2º leg, their fans came out in force to cheer their team on as
the below
image shows.

However its was not enough as the 2º leg finished in a 1-1 draw, thus
giving an aggregate score of 2-4 in Getafe´s favor & taking them into
their second Spanish Cup final in a row. They will meet the winner of
tomorrows other semi-final between Valencia & FC Barcelona.

Racing went out with all guns & started well with a goal by MUNITIS
in the 6th min ( celebrating below) that gave them hope. In fact, Racing
dominated the game until the 76th min when SERRANO was given a red
card for an ugly tackle to Getafe midfielder Granero, that left Racing
with 10 men & that incident changed the course of the match.

Getafe quickly took control & punished Racing in the 80th min
with a
sealing goal from CASQUERO ( below) that ensured their
ticket for the upcoming final.

An extraordinary run from Getafe in this competition which is full
of merit, as they are now also coming into form in the vital part
of the
season, with Uefa Cup opcions also with them.

Tomorrow they will know their Spanish Cup Final opponents.
