Valencia again lost today 2 - 3 to Real Betis & have the emergency alarms sounding. Currently sitting second last on the Liga classification table & without a victory, there Liga start is a shocker. SPAIN FOOTBALL TEAM | LIST OF PLAYERS FOR EURO 2016

Spanish National Football Team Selector & Coach Vicente del Bosque handed in the final & definite list of 23 players to make up the Squad to compete in next months Euro 2016 Championship.

Surprises with Isco & young star Saul having been dropped, while defender Bellerin takes the place of injured Carvajal. Personally very surprised to see the lack of real forwards in this squad, the inclusion of Pedro who has had a weak season at Chelsea FC & defender Bartra who can´t get a regular place with FC Barcelona. However, I don´t make the list & must have faith with these 23 players which will be defending Spain & the European Champion Title.

SPANISH CUP FINAL | FC BARCELONA 2 SEVILLA FC 0

FC Barcelona has won the Spanish Cup Final 2 - 0 against Sevilla FC & after extra-time. Intense Spanish Cup - Copa del Rey - Final that had 3 red cards ( 1 for Barça & 2 Sevilla FC) & which also had Barça on the ropes up to the 91st min, to see them manage to turn the Final around.

Its the 28th Spanish Cup title in the history of Barça which they adds to the Liga title for season 2015-2106

FC Barcelona - Sevilla FC

Sevilla FC had everything in their favour when in the 36th min Mascherano received a red card for fouling Gameiro. With Barça down to 10 men Sevilla took over the match. Things got even worst for Barça when Luis Suarez was taken off with a muscle injury. Everything was in favour of Sevilla but Barcelona held tight.

Spanish Cup Final 2016

Sevilla sinned in missing their opportunities & paid dearly for it later. With Iniesta, Messi, Pique & Neymar holding things together, & later taking things further, Barça turned things around. The 91 st min the red card to Sevilla FC player Banegas also swayed things back to Barcelona´s way as the match went into extra-time.

FC Barcelona scored in the 97th min via Jordi Alba, & later Neymar scored the sealer in the 122th min to give FC Barcelona the Spanish Cup Title

Sevilla received another red card just before the Neymar goal to illustrate the decline of their Football from the Banegas red card.

A suffered & worked victory for Barça that shuts their Football season with two titles

Congratulations to FC Barcelona.

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE | SEVILLA FC CHAMPIONS

Spanish Football Club Sevilla FC won its 3rd consecutive UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE Final & its 5th Europa League Championship after defeating English Club Liverpool 1 - 3 tonight. Extraordinary feat for any Club & maintains Spanish Football at the top of the European Football powers.

Uefa Final 2016

The Final in Basilea had two parts, the first half went to Liverpool FC which opened the scoring through Sturridge in the 35th min, while the 2º half was for Sevilla FC which scored three goals. The moment that broken the game in favour of the Spaniards was the "psychlogical" goal scored in the 46th min by Gamiero who equalized for Sevilla FC.

Sevilla FC Uefa 2016

The equalizer lifted the spirits of the Spaniards, while doubts came into the minds of the English side. Slowly Sevilla FC took control through their ever-present & influential midfielder Banega, & began to create goal opportunities.

Sevilla FC Captain Coke then became protagonist scoring in the 64th min & again in the 70th min to take his team onward. The rest of the match had the Spaniards controlling things & keeping Liverpool FC at bay & away from danger.

Congratulations to Liverpool for being a worthy finalist & Sevilla FC for another European Title.

SPANISH LIGA | THE THREE RELEGATED CLUBS

Every year its the same, three Liga Clubs get relegated to the Spanish Football 2º Division. Naturally with controversy, allegations of teams not cooperating & the sadness of the affected fans.

The "winner" after yesterdays Round 38 of Liga (the final Round of season 2015-2016) was Real Sporting de Gijon, which managed to save themselves from relegation winning 2 - 0 Villarreal. The "miracle" was helped by the fact the Real Betis defeated Getafe 2 - 1 sending the latter to the 2º division.

Getafe accused Villarreal of "helping" Sporting, however this is more emotion than fact.

Spain Soccer

Therefore the three Clubs that get relegated are:

Rayo Vallecano 38 points
Getafe 36 points
Levante 32 points

The city of Madrid loses two Clubs (Rayo & Getafe) from Liga.

In the coming weeks we will know which three Clubs ascends from the 2º Division into Liga.

SPANISH FOOTBALL LIGA | FC BARCELONA CHAMPION

Final Round (38) of the Spanish Football League - La Liga - with the 2015 - 2016 decided , while tomorrow, Sunday, with the three Clubs that fall down into the 21 Division. A long & hard worked season which is about to end with the following final results & goalscorers of today´s matches

FC Barcelona

Granada hosted FC Barcelona with the latter needing to win to take the Liga Championship. The final result 0 - 3 victory for Barça with HAT-TRICK included from Luis Suarez - 21st, 37th & 85th min. These three goals gives the Uruguayan forward 40 goals in Liga which gives him "El Pichichi Award" (Liga maximum goalscorer) & "virtually" the European Golden Boot Award.

Its the 24th Spanish Liga Championship title in the history of FC Barcelona which repeats again.

Congratulations to FC Barcelona!

Real Madrid 2016

Real Madrid needed to win Deportivo A Coruña & Barça lose or draw to have any chance of the Liga Title. The final result was a 0 - 2 win to Real Madrid which finishes the season in second place with a 1º point less difference behind Barça.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored both goals - 6th min & 24th min - to finish the season with 35 Liga goals & in second place behind Luis Suarez in the maximum goalscoring tally in Liga.

LA LIGA | SPANISH FOOTBALL ROUND 37 GAMES RESULTS

While most European Football Leagues had already designated their season Champions, the Spanish Football League - La Liga - is going down to the wire. Today Round 37 games all started at 17.00 as Clubs are playing their future at the bottom of the classification table as well.

Here are all of today´s final results along with goalscorers. The loss by Atletico de Madrid puts them out of the Liga race with FC Barcelona & Real Madrid left with one more game of Liga this season up next weekend. FC Barcelona only needs to win to be Champions, while Real Madrid has to win & wait to see what Barça does with a draw or loss from the latter enough.

FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona solved comfortably the "danger" match with a smashing 5 - 0 win over RCD Espanyol. Here are all the goals:
  • Messi 7th min, 1 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 51st min, 2 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 60th min, 3 - 0
  • Rafinha 72nd min, 4 - 0
  • Neymar 82nd min, 5 - 0
The two goals from Luis Suarez takes his Liga goal tally to 37 goals & puts him in the drivers seat to take the European Golden boot Award.

FC Barcelona must win to become Liga Champions next week.

Spanish liga Soccer

Real Madrid won 3 - 2 Valencia CF to keep themselves 1 point away from Barça, as well as overtaking At.Madrid which lost their match. Nervous game through the 90 minutes with Valencia nearly turning things around had not substitute Real Madrid goalie Kiko Casilla been so outstanding. Casilla did 4-5 miracle saves to keep out Valencia & maintain Real Madrid in the title hunt.

Goals came in the following order:
  • Cristiano Ronaldo 25th min, 1 - 0
  • Benzema 41st min, 2 - 0
  • Rodrigo 54th min, 2 - 1
  • Cristiano Ronaldo 58th min, 3 - 1
  • Gomes 80th min, 3 - 2
It was also the last match at home for Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa who leave the Club at the end of this season. Coach Zidane gave Arbeloa the last 15 mins as substitute as a farewell gesture. The defender however is not leaving Football & hints of an overseas move. My guess is that he may join Aitor Karanka, Coach of newly ascended into the English Premier League Club Middlesbrough. But this is my guess.

The shock of the Round, with already relegated Club Levante defeating 2 -1 Atletico Madrid & eliminating the latter from the Liga title race

Atletico started well with a 1ºst min goal from Fernando Torres, but things turned dramatically thereafter. Levante equalized via Victor in the 29th min & later Rossi got the winning goal in the 89th min.

Now Atletico can focus totally on the Champions League Final in Milan against Real Madrid at the end of this month.

Rest of results:

Villarreal 0 - Deportivo A Coruña 2 ( Fajr, Lucas) . Deportivo saved in Liga.

Eibar 1 (Enrich) - Real Betis 1 (Ruben Castro)

Getafe 1 (Scepovic) - Real Sporting Gijon 1 (Alvarez). Both still in danger of relegation.

Las Palmas 0 - Ath Club Bilbao 0

Real Sociedad 2 (Oyarzabal, Bautista) - Rayo Vallecano 1 (Guerra). Rayo second last & in real danger of relegation.

Sevilla FC 1 (Gonzalez) - Granada 4 (Cuenca, Babin, El-Arabi, Cuenca). Important win to stay in Liga.

Celta de Vigo 1 (Nolito) - Malaga FC 0

REAL MADRID INTO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

Spanish Football Club Real Madrid defeated 1 - 0 Manchester City in the return 2º leg semi-final match of Champions League. Real Madrid goes into its 14th European Cup Final after taking the semi-final tie 1 - 0 on aggregate.

Real Madrid will now meet fellow city & country rival Atletico de Madrid in the Milan Final of the Champions League at the end of this month.

Real Madrid Champions League

The winning goal came in the 20th min from Bale although the referee marked it as an own goal from Fernando. Deserved victory by the Spaniards which dominated most of the match, but had serious scares on a couple of occasions when Manchester City came close to scoring an away goal. One occasion was at the end of the match when Sergio Aguero nearly changed the course of the game.

Real Madrid started with Cristiano Ronaldo who risked with injury, & was without Benzema & Casemiro. Isco started with Jese & the team looked well from the kick-off. Manchester City lost early Kompany to injury, & apart from this was very slow in all their moves through the encounter. The determining factor was the superior quality of the Real Madrid players, although as mentioned,  Manchester City gave two clear frights, they came really close tonight.

All Spanish Final & a repeat of two years ago when Real Madrid saves in the last seconds a Final in the hands of Atletico Madrid through a Sergio Ramos goal that gave extra time a the victory. Spanish Football remains the reference for European & World Soccer.

ATLETICO MADRID INTO FINAL & ELIMINATES BAYERN MUNICH | CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Spanish Football Club Atletico de Madrid eliminated tonight German Club Bayern Munich from the Champions League competition to win a place in the Final. The final result of the 2º leg return match of the Champions League semi-final was 2 - 1 for Bayern Munich, but the away goal & the 2 - 2 aggregate result was enough for Atletico.

Hard fought out match with two clear heroes for Atletico de Madrid, goalkeeper Oblak who stopped a penalty from Muller in the 1º st half & Antoine Griezmann who scored the goal away worth double in the 53rd min.

At Madrid champions league

It was obvious that Bayern Munich would go all out to get the result & the tie. The Germans boxed in the Spaniard most of the 1º st half with a Xabi Alonso free-kick goal in the 30th min included. Shortly after while Bayern was on a roll a penalty was called in the 33rd min. Muller had the chance to put the semi-final firmly in the hands of the Germans but Oblak stopped it, or Muller failed. Either way it was an important turning point that was to change the course of things around.

At Madrid vs Bayern munich

In the 2º half Atletico Coach Simeone made his "master move" & decision, to take off a defensive midfielder Augusto & put on an attacker Carrasco. Atletico changed from 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 system which made Bayern move back more within their area. Atletico had decided to change from defending exclusively to take the game in the German area. The move paid off when Griezmann combined with Griezmann in a 1 - 2 touch action that left the French alone with only Neuer to beat, which he did in the 53rd min to score.

The away goal now forced Bayern to score twice if they were to survive, & the Bayern attacks began again its advances. Ribery was dangerous, Alaba was outstanding, Vidal a nuisance but very active & Lewandowski always dangerous. Atletico sinned by again falling back in defence to wait for Bayern & they paid a second German goal when Alaba found the head of Vidal who headed into the path of Lewandowski in the 73rd min.

Nervous & tense moments, Atletico was brave enough to attack a tiring Bayern defence which committed penalty on Fernando Torres in the 83rd min (fouled by Martinez). However, Fernando Torres had his penalty attempt stopped by Bayern Munich goalie Neuer & the Germans were still alive.

The remaining 10 mins was Bayern attacks after attack, but At. Madrid held firm till the final whistle to go into the Champions League final.

Tomorrow we will know the other finalist when Real Madrid hosts Manchester City in their 2º leg return semi-final.

AT MADRID 1 BAYERN MUNICH 0 | CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI - FINAL RESULT

Spanish Football Club Atletico de Madrid won 1 - 0 German giant Bayern Munich in tonight's 1º leg Champions League semi-final clash. Brilliant & emotional game that had everything & much more. The semi-final tie is still wide open as the Spaniards must travel to Munich for the 2º leg match next week, but the sensations are good for Atletico

Champions League semi-final

Atletico Madrid overpowered Bayern Munich in the first 15 minutes of the game. Their pressure was intense & were awarded with an 11th min goal from youngster Saul. A player who has came of age & has earned himself to be a serious candidate for the Spanish National Team for the upcoming Euro 2016 Championship. Spanish team Coach & Selector Vicente del Bosque was in the crowd watching & must have been delighted with the performance of Saul & his outstanding goal.

In the second half Bayern Munich showed why they are a top class Football act as they dominated most of the last 45 min. Bayern Brazilian winger Costa is a class act along with team-mates Alba & company. The Germans put under siege the Spanish area & here appeared another name, Atletico goalkeeper Olbak who was outstanding. Two close calls, Alaba hit the bar while Fernando Torres hit the post. Both actions which could have radically changed the course of this semi-final.

Lastly, the defensive exhibition from Atletico de Madrid during the German Blitzkrieg in the second half was a "Masterclass". A defensive wall which repelled everything thrown at it, standing firm, with every player showing solidarity & intensity. A theoretical lessen that many Coaches will be studying & we were privileged to witness tonight in motion. Mention here to the tireless Atletico midfielder Augusto, along with Central defender Gimenez & Savic. In all fairness it was a total & collective supreme effort.

Now off to Munich to settle the tie, hope we get the same level of game as tonight.

MAN. CITY 0 REAL MADRID 0 | CHAMPIONS SEMI-FINAL 1º LEG RESULT

Champions League 1º leg semi-final with Manchester City drawing 0 - 0 with Spanish Football Club Real Madrid. A relative small victory for Real Madrid as they did not allow Man. City to score while keeping options open for the return leg at home at the "Santiago Bernabeu Stadium".

The result for the Spaniards was even better because they managed it without Cristiano Ronaldo who could not recover in time over his thigh injury & without Benzema all the 2º half who went off injured.

Real Madrid

Manchester City was very dangerous the first half gaining a higher percentage of ball possession & managing to get into the goal zone more often. Real Madrid was sloppy, inaccurate in their passing & giving away the ball too often. The turning point for worst for Man.City was the injury to David Silva which took the "magic" out of the team. The English squad then took on a more "orthodox" approach of defending & looking for the counter-attack.

Real Madrid

The second half went to Real Madrid which bettered as time went hitting the bar through Jese & forcing English goalkeeper Hart to make two match savers, one from a Casemiro corner header & another a point blank Pepe shot.

In the end both teams played out to fight another day. But watching this game although both teams have very good options still available to pass onto the final, Real Madrid looks more superior.

Outstanding performance from Real Madrid defenders Pepe, Marcelo  & Carvajal, Casemiro was solid, Modric was the play maker & always dangerous, while Bale got better towards the end.

Tomorrow the other Spanish Football representative plays German giants Bayern Munich at home in their 1ºst leg Champions League semi-final match.

SPANISH FOOTBALL | LIGA RESULTS SATURDAY ROUND 35

Spanish Football action with Round 35 of Spanish Liga scheduled, with FC Barcelona, At.Madrid & Real Madrid needing to win in order to maintain any chance of having & keeping alive their Spanish League Title hopes. Here are today´s final results & all the goalscorers

Soccer Spain

Las Palmas are putting in a great end of season notching up a victory 4 - 0 over RCD Espanyol in the Round 35 Friday night opener. Las Palmas gets away from the dangerous relegation zone while Espanyol drops closer to the danger area.

Total control & dominance by Las Palmas with goals from:
  • El Zhar 45th min, 1 - 0
  • Jonathan 48th min, 2 - 0
  • Bigas 55th min, 3 - 0
  • Wakaso 76th min, 4 - 0
Spain Football

Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano hosted Real Madrid & lost 2 - 3. Both Clubs needed points, the home side to secure their presence in Liga next season while Real Madrid to stay alive the Liga title race.

Real Madrid left Cristiano Roanldo at home to rest, while Sergio Ramos & Modric were on the bench. This may have allowed Rayo to exploit the "unaccustomed" situation & they started on fire. Rapidly they put Real Madrid on the ropes with an opening goal from Embarba in the 6th min & Miku in the 13th min.

Nerves & doubts began racing through the Real Madrid side as they began seeing how the Liga title may slip this afternoon. However, Garath Bale took control & gave his side wings scoring in the 34th min. The Welshman was the key today for the Real Madrid victory along with Isco & Lucas Vazquez who headed the equalizer in the 51st min.

Rayo then made some silly mistakes which allowed Bale to steal a ball from a failed Rayo pass to score the winner in the 81st min. Rayo nearly have the equalizer in the end but the Real Madrid defence deflected over the bar.

Close call for Real Madrid which work very hard to get their 3 points. Rayo will be upset for making mistakes in critical moments, & they were punished.

At Madrid Soccer Spain

Atletico Madrid managed to win 1 - 0 a very stick Malaga FC to maintain themselves in the race for the Spanish Liga title. Very tense affair, lots of nerves & even doubt as At Madrid kept smashing into the Malaga "wall".

At Madrid Coach Simeone was overwhemled by the pressure & was sent off by the referee as he disputed most of the controversial (in his mind) decisions. However, young Argentine forward Correa broke through in the 62 nd min to put Atletico ahead & eventually secure the three points. Vital win for At.Madrid.

Spanish Football

FC Barcelona also does not fail & keeps the top spot of La Liga ladder after defeating Real Sporting de Gijon 6 - 0. The latter hangs in the relegation zone & is now fighting for its Liga survival.

Barça relatively dominated the encounter with some moments of lapses that allowed Sporting Gijon to create chances that they failed to convert. However Gijon was overrun in the latter part of the match by Barça. Again Luis Suarez scored four goals again & practically races away in the Liga & European Golden Boot tally. The match had a peculiarity in that the last 3 goals were penalties

Goalscorers:
  • Messi 39th min, 1 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 64th min, 2 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 74th min penalty, 3 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 77th min penalty, 4 - 0
  • Neymar 86th min penalty, 5 - 0
  • Luis Suarez 88th min, 6 - 0

Eibar 1 (Adrian 7th min)- Deportivo A Coruña 1 (Cartabia 70th min)

LA LIGA ROUND 34 | SPANISH FOOTBALL RESULTS

Spanish Football action tonight with mid-week Round 34 of Liga. Although most Clubs played tonight, the "real action" was between the first three classified Clubs on the Liga ladder: FC Barcelona & At Madrid sharing points, while Real Madrid just a point away.

All three felt the pressure of a "must win situation" if they wished to keep alive their Liga title contention in tact. Here we focus on these three Clubs & their results.

FC Barcelona

Deportivo A Coruña was overrun 0 - 8 by FC Barcelona which reacted to a string of losses & bad form. The best medicine was a big win & this was the match. Luis Suarez scored 4 goals

Here are the goalscorers:
  • Luis Suarez 10th min, 0 - 1
  • Luis Suarez 23rd min, 0 - 2
  • Ratikic 46th min, 0 - 3
  • Luis Suarez 52nd min, 0 - 4
  • Luis Suarez 63rd min, 0 - 5
  • Messi 72nd min, 0 - 6
  • Bartra 78th min, 0 - 7
  • Neymar 80th min, 0 - 8
FC Barcelona still top of the Liga ladder.

At Madrid Liga Soccer

Atletico de Madrid had to win to maintain themselves joint leaders & they this winning away 0 - 1 Athletic Club Bilbao. The winner came from Fernando Torres in the 37th min from a precision Griezmann pass which was headed into goal.

At. Madrid remains joint leader on points with Barcelona.

Real Madrid Liga Football

Real Madrid overcame a difficult Villarreal winning finally comfortably 3 - 0. This win maintains them 3º rd on the Liga ladder just 1 point behind FC Barcelona & At Madrid respectively. The goals in this order:
  • Karim Benzema 40th min, 1 - 0
  • Lucas Vasquez 68th min, 2 - 0
  • Modric 75th min, 3 - 0
Bad news, Ronaldo walked off possibly injured near the end of the game... stay tuned!

Status-Quo at the top of La Liga ladder.

ATLETICO MADRID 2 FC BARCELONA 0 | BARÇA OUT OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Atletico Madrid has eliminated FC Barcelona from Champions League after winning 2 - 0 in the 2º leg return Quarter-Final match. The final aggregate score 3 - 2 in favour of Atletico turning around a 2 - 1 first leg result.

Atletico de Madrid joins Real Madrid, Manchester City & Bayern Munich as the final 4 Clubs that will go into next Fridays draw that will match up the semi-finals of Champions.

Champions League match against FC Barcelona

Atletico started strong from the kick-off & continued the intensity throughout the whole game. Barcelona as expected created their own opportunities but were neutralized in most of the occasions by a solid & very well positioned tactically opposition team.

The stadium was filled with 53.000 roaring fans which pushed their team onwards & the players felt it. Great effort from the locals that definitely played their role as the "12th man".

Champions League

Although Atletico was as a whole a discipled team, some names did stand out. Again Frenchman Antoine Griezmann was a star. Apart from scoring both goals - a wonderful header in the 36th min & a penalty in the 88th min - the man did not stop running. Other names to note are defender Godin who was a rock, Koke who was everywhere, Captain Gabi  & Augusto did the "dirty work".

The match, as expected, had controversial moments. A clear hand-ball by Pique in the penalty area was not called & another hand-ball by Atletico Captian Gabi right at the end of the game not called. Added to this the tension gave rise to some notable clashes between opposing players that pushed things to the edge.

For FC Barcelona, disappointing to see Messi not shine at all, while Neymar was practically a shadow. Luis Suarez had flashes but was well held out by the Atletico defender Godin & Lucas. As for the rest, they all tried hard & pulled from pride but Atletico simply played better, deserved the win & the qualification into the Champions League semis.

REAL MADRID 3 WOLFSBURG 0 | CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RESULT

Real Madrid has managed to turnaround a two goal deficit from the 1º leg into a 3 - 0 win tonight against Wolfsburg. Magical Champions League 2º leg return game that made vibrate fans & spectators alike. Its the 6th year straight that Real Madrid manages to get themselves into the semi-final stage of Champions League (3-2 ON AGGREGATE)

Champions League

But if there is one name to highlight, that is Cristiano Ronaldo who scored all three goals - 16th, 17th & 77th min - & with full repertoire: feet, header & free-kick. The HAT-TRICK man lead his team onward in possibly his best exhibition in a long time. With him the work of Karim Benzema was outstanding with the Frenchman unlucky not to have scored himself. Midfielder Modric was all class, along with team-mate Casemiro who was omnipresent & Carvajal who was pivotal in the early goals.

The Germans had their chances, with some very clear opportunities that they will be remembering after the match. They lost star player Draxler in the 31st min & this was an obvious blow for them as Draxler was their danger man. Special mention for Wolfsburg goalkeeper Benaglio who was excellent making some vital saves & keeping his team alive. Said this the desired away goal, although looked for & very close, did not arrive for the Germans.

Tomorrow another magical night of Champions League when two Spanish Football Clubs, Atletico de Madrid & FC Barcelona fight out their own elimination clash. The latter takes over to Madrid 2 goals while Atletico has a valueable away goal that could give them the key. Match not to be missed.

LA LIGA | ROUND 32 SUNDAY SPANISH FOOTBALL RESULTS

Spanish Football continued today with Round 32 of Liga with 4 scheduled matches. Here are the final results along with the goalscorers.

Celta de Vigo

Valencia CF won in the last minute 2 - 1 Sevilla FC. Vital win for them as they were serious looking down the "barrel" of the relegation zone. Sevilla FC finished unhappy, claiming two "supposed" clear penalties not called on their forward Fernando Llorente.

Valencia Captain Parejo opened the scoring with a superb free-kick goal in the 40th min. Thereafter an intense match which saw Sevilla equalize through Gameiro in the 87th min. Then the "miracle" occurred for Valencia when in a goal square mess up Alvaro Negredo scored the winner in the 92nd min. Practically blew the roof off the stadium.

LA LIGA | ROUND 32 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football today with Round 32 Liga matches scheduled. Here are all the respective final results - including surprise result - along with today´s goalscorers.

Soccer Spain

Round 32 of Liga opened with the Friday night match between Granada - Malaga which ended in a 0 - 0 final result & draw. Bad result for Granada which hangs dangerously close to the relegation zone of the Liga ladder, while Malaga get another valuable point to precisely avoid this area.

La Liga

Real Madrid won 4 - 0 Eibar in a match which was a confidence booster seeing they have to make a "dramatic" comeback back next Tuesday against Wolfsburg in Champions League. Real Madrid Coach Zidane left many regulares on the bench to rest & gave goalkeeper Casilla, Carvajal, Nacho, Arbeloa,  Lucas Vázquez, James, Isco & Jese a run from the start.

Real Madrid did all the damage in the first 40 mins with goals from:
  • James Rodriguez, 4th min free kick , 1 - 0
  • Lucas Vazquez 17th min, 2 - 0
  • Cristiano Ronaldo 18th min, 3 - 0
  • Jese Rodriguez 38th min, 4 - 0
After the 4th goal Real Madrid began thinking more about their upcoming "do or die" game against Wolfsburg next Tuesday.

Good match from the non-starters like Lucas Vazquez & Jese for example, this last coming off later with a knock on the knee.

Spanish Football

RCD Espanyol hosted Atletico de Madrid & lost 1 - 3. Even match in the first half, but Atletico managed to pull away towards the end. Espanyol deserved more from this game as they offered good Football but the individual actions of the Atletico players was the key.

Espanyol got ahead first in the 28th min through Diop. But At Madrid reacted & drew through Fernando Torres in the 34th min. From here onward an even tussle until a non-existent (up to then) Griezmann transformed a Koke pass into goal in the 57th min. Koke later headed in the sealer for Atletico from a Torres pass in the 88th min.

Atletico de Madrid retains the 2º position of the Liga classification ladder.

La Liga Football

Another year & FC Barcelona crash at San Sebastian. The locals Real Sociedad defeated FC Barcelona 1 - 0 & in doing so put back the excitement into the Spanish Liga Championship. Now only 3 points separates Barça from second placed Atletico de Madrid, while Real Madrid is only 4 points away.

Real Sociedad scored the winner in the 5th min with a superb header from Oyarzabal. Barcelona attempted to equalize all match but the Real Sociedad defence withstood the attacks with an outstanding Sociedad goalkeeper Rulli who was decisive.

Excellent & needed victory for Real Sociedad, unfortunate loss for Barça which meets At. Madrid mid-week in the return Q-F Champions League decider.
