SPANISH FOOTBALL | LIGA ROUND 14 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football action today with Round 14 Liga scheduled matches. Here are all the corresponding final results along with the goalscorers.

Liga Real Madrid

Real Madrid hosted fellow city of Madrid Club Getafe & won 4 - 1. The crowd was still sensitive about the elimination of Real Madrid from the Spanish Cup & gave a ANGRY whistling reception to President Perez & Coach Benitez.

However, the quick 4th min goal from Karim Benzema calmed the emotions & Real Madrid was in again in communion with the fan-base. With the tranquillity in the atmosphere the locals dominated Getafe & the goals began to pour in. The second was another Benzema goal in the 16th min, followed by Bale in the 34th min & Cristiano Ronaldo in the 37th min.

With the game on track, Real Madrid lifted the foot off the accelerator in the 2º half & perhaps sinned a bit in relaxing. They eventually paid for this lapse when Getafe defender Alexis headed the visitors only goal in the 69th min.

Comfortable win against a fairly "uncompetitive Getafe" , a victory that calmed the rough waters at Real Madrid, for now!

Liga At Madrid

Granada played Atletico de Madrid & lost 0 - 2. Granada did not play too bad at all, their deficiency is lack of effectiveness. Had Granada been more accurate they could have surprised, but giving space to Atletico de Madrid is risky & they paid.

First goal for Atletico de Madrid came from a Godin header in the 20th min, classic At. Madrid set piece, while the second goal came from Griezmann with space to shot in the 75th min.

The win for Atletico keeps them in 2º place on the Liga table.

Spain Liga results

Valencia CF drew 1 - 1 with FC Barcelona. Best match of the Round, intense, end to end & with plenty of chances. Valencia seems to have gotten a weight off their shoulders, Nuno now ex-Coach,  as they run for everything 6 with intensity. FC Barcelona played well, but paid dearly for missing their chances early on, to which Valencia through sheer persistence managed to later draw.

The first goal was scored by Barça through Luis Suarez in the 58th min. A goal that was off-side, plus Suarez should have received a red card for stepping deliberately the foot of a defender. But that's Football. Valencia never gave up & was rewarded in the 85th min when Paco Alcacer controlled found Santi Mina incoming who fired in the equalizer.

The game could have gone either way thereafter with more chances created but finished with shared points. Entertaining Football overall.

Deportivo 1 (Lucas 21st m) - Sevilla FC 1 (Iborra 75th m)

Betis  1 (Molina 82nd m) - Celta de Vigo  1 (Bongonda 24th m)
