FC Barcelona hosted Bate Borisov for the Group E match & won 3 - 0. The win keeps Barça leader of their Group & well on course to qualify as top team. The goals came from Neymar who converted a penalty in the 32 nd min after Munir was fouled in the square. Later Luis Suarez scored after a Neymar assist in the 60th min, & Neymar again was the protagonist scoring another goal in the 83rd min.
The only bad news for Barça was the injury to Ivan Rakitic.
Valencia CF travelled to Belgium to play Gent in their Group H game & lost 0 - 1. A game that was decided by a penalty in the 44th min that Kums converted after a Valencia defender unfortunately handled the ball in the goal square. The Spaniards tried later to equalize but were ineffective with Gent securing the result well. Overall a deserved victory for the Belgium Club.
This loss complicates things a bit for Valencia CF on the table. They still hold second spot but will need to be careful & win the remaining games to secure their pass onto the next stage.
