Real Sporting de Gijon hosted Real Betis & lost their match 1 - 2. Gijon have yet to win a match at home & perhaps the inexperience of Liga & their young players may be a factor when put under pressure.
Sporting de Gijon got off well with a 16th min goal from Carlos, but fizzed out after 30 mins of good Football. Betis pulled back with a Joaquin equalizer in the 46th min & then went ahead with a "power-driver" from Ruben Castro which sealed things for the visitors.
Deportivo A Coruna put in another fine exhibition of Football, this time against RCD Espanyol. The home team jumps up La Liga table after winning today 3 - 0. Total domination from Deportivo with goals from Alvaro in the 13th min & two goals from Lucas in the 26th min & the 46th min.
Madrid club Getafe "buried" Levante 3 - 0 in the last 15 mins. The man of the match was substitute Vazquez who scored the opener for the match & for Getafe in the 81st min. Then Vazquez gave the assist to Emi who scored the second for Getafe in the 91st min, to later have Vazquez score his second goal & third for his team in the 92nd min.
Real Sociedad & Athletic Club Bilbao played out the big Basque Region derby which ended in a 0 - 0 draw. No goals but an emotional game as both sides put in all their efforts towards getting attempting to grab the three point. Although in the end the points were shared, Real Sociedad claimed a penalty, which looked clear, on Illaramendi that was not called.
