Malaga FC was not able to keep its winning streak on-line as theY were defeated by RCD Espanyol 1 - 2. Espanyol consolidate themselves mid-table while Malaga hangs awfully close to the danger-zone of the ladder. The visitors went ahead first with a Sergio Garcia goal in the 32nd min, but that was answered with an equalizer by Malaga player Pablo Perez 2 minutes later that was clearly off-side. However, justice occurred later when Espanyol got the winner in the 76th min through Pizzi. Staying with "justice" Pablo Perez then saw a red card in the 78th min.
Elche continue with their particular battle to stay away from relegation dangers drawing 0 - 0 to visitors Athletic Club Bilbao. The atmospheric conditions with strong winds did not help for good Football, however it was no excuse for Bilbao which on paper are the better team. Elche deserve merit however for their tactical positioning & fierce defending that made the match equal & did not give an inch to the visitors. Valuable point for Elche.
