SPANISH FOOTBALL | LIGA | ROUND 35 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS | FC BARCELONA CHAMPIONS

Spanish Football action with Liga matches played as part of Round 35. Bad round for bottom placed teams in relegation troubles,  & with the Real Madrid draw result against RCD Espanyol, FC Barcelona claims mathematically the Spanish Liga title 2012-2013. Here are the final results ( scores ) & all the goal scorers.

Levante drew 0 - 0 with Real Zaragoza on Friday night, a result that did not help Real Zaragoza which is fighting for their Liga life. Rough & tough match as expected with two red cards going to Levante. The latter managed to hold on.

Athletic Club Bilbao faced another desperate Club looking at the relegation abyss, Real Mallorca. The final 2 - 1 score to Bilbao was disastrous for Mallorca which has it almost impossible to escape the ladder danger-zone. The goals for Bilbao came from Aduriz in the the 8th min & Fernando Llorente in the 79th min. Mallorca fought hard & managed a goal from Giovani with a free kick in the 81st min but they needed more & it did not come.

Valladolid managed to secure their presence mathematically in Liga next season after defeating 1 - 0 Deportivo A Coruña. The latter are also in "dire straits" in the relegation zone & it was a serious set back for them in their particular battle for "Liga survival". The winner for Valladolid came from Javi Guerra in the 48th min.

Osasuna which is hoovering close to the bottom places grabbed oxygen winning 1 - 0 Madrid Club Getafe. The winner for Osasuna came with a 74th min header from Arribas that brought the stadium down with local joy.

RCD Espanyol finished with a 1 - 1 draw against Real Madrid. The final score line mathematically gives FC Barcelona the Spanish Liga title.

Real Madrid went into this game thinking in the upcoming Spanish Cup Final keeping its big names on the bench, although Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso & Benzema came on latter to attempt to "fix" things in the second half. The other "bad news" for Real Madrid was the injury to the right knee of defender Varane in the first 15 minutes. The extent is unknown but Coach Mourinho believes that Varane will miss the Spanish Cup Final.


Overall Espanyol was more aggressive, disciplined, hungry & played very well. Their goal came from Stuani in the 22nd min & the equalizer came for Madrid in the 58th min from a Higuain header. 

Real Madrid will now concentrate all their strengths towards to Spanish Cup Final. Now observers are asking, will Pepe play?
