Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano lost to a Club with a clear mission, to get into Champions League positions. Valencia CF won 4 - 0 & keep the pressure on Real Sociedad which has currently the prized 4th position on the classification ladder & which plays their match tomorrow against Granada.
Great match from Roberto Soldado with two goals ( 27th & 33rd min ), along with goals from Guardado in the 61st min & Valdez 91st min
Real Betis won 1 - 0 Celta de Vigo & "pushed" the latter a little closer to the edge of the "2 nd Division Spanish Football cliff". Celta have some chances of surviving, but they need to win the rest of their games & see if other "in trouble" Clubs fail. Its a difficult endeavour for Celta.

Atletico de Madrid hosted the newly "crowned" Spanish League Champions for this season FC Barcelona. It was an excellent sparring match for Atletico which faces Real Madrid next Friday in the Spanish Cup Final. However there appeared are some worrying signs for Atletico de Madrid which lost 1 - 2 to Barça with the latter down to 10 men from the 71st min.
The game was fought out & Atletico de Madrid was more serious in their game. Both created chances with Atletico de Madrid getting ahead via Falcao in the 51st min. But Barça lost Alves, & Messi to injury, & the latter had to come off with Barcelona already using their three changes. This forced Barcelona to play with 10 men from the 71st min when Messi was forced to come off the pitch.
Strangely enough Barça played better, & Alexis equalized in the 72nd min & Barça went ahead in the 79th min from an own goal from Atletico midfielder Gabi.
End result & points to Barça which flys off to Barcelona to celebrate their Liga title tomorrow with the people in a bus that will take them through the city. Atletico de Madrid will need to analyse why they lost to 10 men & find solutions before the Spanish cup Final next Friday.
Andalucia Region derby between Malaga FC & Sevilla FC which ended in a disappointing 0 - 0 draw. Little goal chances created with the emphasis on the midfield control where both counter-balanced each other. Perhaps they were both over cautious tonight, what was a fact is that the game was a bore.
