VALENCIA CF hosted BATE BORISOV in their Group G match. Valencia have found form & are putting together their game with the result being an important 4- 2 victory taking the Club closer to qualifying for the next phase.
Valencia had plenty of punch tonight with goals from JONAS in the 26th min, SOLDADO with a penalty in the 29th min & FEGHOULI with two goals , first in the 51st min & the other in the 86th min. For Borisov their two well earned goals came via BRESSAN in the 53rd min & MOZOLEVSKI in the 83rd min, two goals that nearly gave them a comeback tale.
CELTIC GLASGOW hosted FC BARCELONA in their Group F match & pulled the nights surprise winning 2 - 1. Historic game for the Scots as they will be counting this tale for years to come. It was effective Football from Celtic which stuck to their game plan in a disciplined fashion & had an inspired goalkeeper in the name of FORSTER who made some miraculous saves.
This & Celtic operating under a precise counter-attacking style that paid its benefits with goals from WANYAMA in the 21st min & WATT in the 82nd min.
Barcelona did play well & had their chances, but played increasingly frustrated as the clock clicked & it looked more & more obvious that they were to lose. MESSI made an attempt to turn things around with his 90 th min goal, but that was too late.
Excellent victory for Celtic & for Barcelona, well they are human.
