SPANISH FOOTBALL MID-WEEK ROUND 33 WEDNESDAY NIGHT RESULTS

Mid-week SPANISH FOOTBALL action tonight with four games of Round 33 played. Here are all the final results & all the scorers.

Granada

GRANADA drew 2 - 2 with ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO in an exciting match of Football that had action right till the end. Granada started on fire with goals from ROMERO in the 2nd min & a second via GEIJO in the 74th min. Before however, Granada lost Romero to a red card in the 38th min & the extra running thereafter with just 10 men would finally wear out the home team.

Bilbao which had missed a penalty in the 39th min by LLORENTE, managed to begin the comeback with the same player scoring in the 81st min & JAVI MARTINEZ getting the equalizer in the 88th min. 

Sporting player Trejo 

Last placed REAL SPORTING DE GIJON is going down fighting & kicking as they managed a bravely fought 3 - 2 victory over LEVANTE. The visitors started scoring via VALDO in the 16th min to which Sporting reacted via TREJO in the 22nd min. From here it was a "mini battle" to control the match & Levante player KONE managed to put his team ahead again in the 62nd min. However, Sporting pulled out that extra "something" & equalized again via LORA in the 74th min & the winner came from SANGOY in the 84th min. 

Jonas kissed Jordi Alba

VALENCIA CF won well RAYO VALLECANO 4 - 1 & thus recover from Malaga the 3rd place on the League table. JONAS got two tonight for Valencia ( 41st & 77th min - penalty ) along with JORDI ALBA in the 70th min & PABLO HERNANDEZ in the 88th min. For Rayo the consolation goal came in the 72nd min via DIEGO COSTA

ATLETICO DE MADRID failed to jump into Euro table positions & again lost to REAL MADRID 1 - 4 after CRISTIANO RONALDO put on a "missle guided goal" show that almost single handedly sank the Atletico ship.

Atletico played well, with an intense & physical effort that created many chances. Perhaps they sinned in not taking their early opportunities & that allowed Real Madrid to calm down & begin playing their fast attacking style.

When things got stiff for Real CRISTIANO RONALDO let loose a cannonball free kick that opened the scoring in the 25th min. Atletico did not bend & continued fighting & was rewarded with a FALCAO header & equalizer in the 55th min.

Then, one again, when Real Madrid was struggling CRISTIANO RONALDO did another long range cracker that put his team ahead in the 68th min. From here Atletico lost the ball & dropped in their play & intensity to which Real Madrid attacked more & won a penalty when Godin floored Higuain to which CRISTIANO RONALDO converted in the 83rd min for his HAT-TRICK & his 40th goal this season. Then in the 88th min CALLEJON scored a fourth to confirm the victory.
