| Kone scores for Levante |
LEVANTE again showed why they are up there in the classification table & in Euro places with a 2 - 0 victory over ATLETICO DE MADRID. Atletico also showed what is becoming an unfortunate "tradition", that is , losing everytime they have a golden opportunity to get into the Euro positions.
The damage was done by Levante in the first 10 mins with the opener by VALDO with a header in the 1st min & the second via KONE in the 9th min. From here Atletico just could not get it together as Levante defended the advantage & frustrated the visitors. So much so that Atletico defender Miranda got a red card late in the match & Salvio with Mario Suarez got yellows & will miss the next match against Real Madrid.

Boring match between MALLORCA & GRANADA with a final 0 - 0 result. Not worth saying more I think, the Club should have considered returning the money from the tickets to the crowd.

ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO won 1 - 0 SEVILLA FC in a good game with the home side dominating a less than optimum Sevilla. The winner came from FERNANDO LLORENTE in the 47th min showing again why his considered one of the best aerial players on the continent. Bilbao could have had another goal late in the 86th min but San José hit the post. Deserved win for Bilbao

Top match, & from a tactical point of view it was a spectacle, with both Coaches moving their pieces so much that it all ended in a 0 - 0 draw. This means that REAL MADRID has now only a 4 point gap ahead of second placed FC Barcelona with a local derby mid week against Atletico de Madrid & the "clasico" to be played at Camp Nou with Barça.
VALENCIA CF suffocated the play making area-midfield of Real Madrid & that halted their rapid flow game. Plus Madrid did not finish off their chances , hitting the post ( Ronaldo in the 8th min) & continuously smashing into the Valencia CF goalie GUIATA who stopped it all. Talking about goalkeepers Real Madrid IKER CASILLAS made some vital stops that avoided a Madrid defeat tonight & thus also needs a mention.
Valencia had their star tonight in TOPAL who was everywhere - like the "holy spirit" - & did a great job to contain, create play & stop Real Madrid.
Chess board stuff, plenty of tension & shared points.
