EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL RESULTS | ALL THREE SPANISH FOOTBALL CLUBS INTO SEMIS

Fabulous night of EUROPA LEAGUE games,  & for SPANISH FOOTBALL, with all three Spanish Football Clubs qualifying for the semi-finals. Here are the final results & all the scorers.

Adrian scores for Atletico

HANNOVER 96 hosted ATLETICO DE MADRID with the latter taking a slim 2 -1 1º leg advantage. The final result  was 1 - 2 ( 2 - 4 agg ) for the Spanish team which qualifies for the semi-final where they will meet another Spanish Club in Valencia CF.

The match had two clear halves, the first was for Hannover who took the initiative while Atletico held them out, & the second was for Atletico with two goals. The man of the match was DIEGO RIBAS, especially in the second half when he was moved into the centre, along with Thiago who did the "dirty" but important midfield hard work.

From the Spanish point of view the main action happened in the 63rd min when ADRIAN did a "one man show piece" in the small area to put Atletico head. Atletico was in control & in a corner a "mental slip" allow the Hannover player DIOUF to equalize in the 81st min.

While the Germans were in full flight & looking to force the extra time , Diego found FALCAO who riffled the sealer in the 86th min. Great night for Atletico.

At.Bilbao - Schalke 04

ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO drew 2 - 2 ( 6 - 4 agg ) with SCHALKE 04 & qualified themselves for the semis. The German team was always going to have it difficult but played admirably & can leave proud tonight with their heads high. Ex-Real Madrid, now Schalke 04 Captain,  RAUL once again pulled his team along & scored a fantastic 52nd min goal that showed his character & class which lifted the local Bilbao fans of their seats. Earlier his team-mate HUNTELAAR put the Germans ahead first with a 28th min goal to put some nerves into Bilbao.

But in both cases, Bilbao responded to equalize & neutralize the danger. First it was IBAI GOMEZ in the 41st min to equalize & then SUSAETA in the 55th min to calm things again. 

Big night for RAMI

VALENCIA CF needes a special night to lift their spirits & clear hoovering doubts, & tonight was the night with a wonderful comeback 4 - 0 ( 5 - 2 ) result over AZ ALKMAAR to put the Spaniards into the semis. 

Valencia CF dominated from the start & RAMI scored twice in the space of 2 mins ( 14th & 16th ) which were "knock out " punches to which the Dutch Club never recovered. Lifted by a wild supporting crowd, Valencia scored again via JORDI ALBA in the 55th min & PABLO HERNANDEZ in the 79th min to put the final cherry on their Football cake.

Valencia Cf will now move on to face Spanish Club Atletico de Madrid in the semi-final.
