EUROPA LEAGUE | SPANISH FOOTBALL CLUB FINAL RESULTS

Three SPANISH FOOTBALL Clubs had return leg EUROPA LEAGUE matches to play tonight. Here is a quick run through events of what has been a good night, with the final results & all the scorers.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Muniain

ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO hosted LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW with an important away goal up their sleeve from the away leg. Moscow had two goals in their bag & needed only to score to get through. It was a nail bitter & a very worked match for Bilbao who managed the victory with a 1 - 0 ( 2- 2 agg, away goal rule) scoreline. The goalscorer was young MUNIAIN from a Llorente "clipped header" in the 61st min.

Earlier,  just a minute before the goal, Bilbao defender Amorebieta received a red card & left Bilbao with 10 men. This gave the Russians spaces & the advantage as they looked for the goal that would get them through. However, Bilbao held out with tooth & nails & managed a memorable win that made the home fans vibrate.

SPANISH FOOTBALL
Jonas scores for Valencia CF

VALENCIA CF hosted English Club STOKE CITY with a away 0 - 1 advantage. The English side came over without some key players which showed in their "soft" performance tonight. The end result was a 1 - 0 victory ( 2 -0 agg) to Valencia which qualified for the next round. The goal came via JONAS who scored in the 23rd min, & it could have been more had Valencia been more accurate.

Juan Fran & Godin celebrate the goal

ATLETICO DE MADRID won 1 - 0 LAZIO to take the tie on a 4 - 1 agg & keep moving on in the Europa League competition. The game was rightly won by the Spanish Club which put in the initiative the whole game although perhaps saving some effort with FC Barcelona in the their minds in the upcoming Liga clash this weekend.

The goal came from a corner in the 47th min which GODIN connected. Lazio created some chances late in the 2ยบ half but they did not materialize as they basically acknowledged that their Euro run had ended.
