SPANISH FOOTBALL continued tonight with EUROPA LEAGUE participation in the Group matches were both games gave favoured results. Here are brief summaries of the events.

At.Bilbao 

SALZBURG hosted ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO in their Group F clash & went down to a 38th min goal by young Bilbao midfielder ANDER HERRERA. Both teams had chances to score with Bilbao goalie Iraizoz stopping important opportunities. Young Bilbao midfielder Muniain was influential & gave the goal pass to which Herrera scored & Bilbao was more effective tonight.

The victory gives Bilbao Group top spot & secures their participation in the next phase.

ATLETICO DE MADRID found their long lost form & goal target winning Italian Club UDINESE 4 - 0 in their Group I match. Goals came from ADRIAN with two ( 5th & 11th min) , DIEGO in the 35th min & FALCAO in the 62nd min.

The win eases pressure on Atletico Coach Manzano who has been severely questioned & close to losing his job. Tonight Atletico played very well on all fronts & the controversial absence of midfielder REYES was forgotten. The key is to keep this up & in a continual fashion, or else the drums will sound again.
