SPANISH LEAGUE FOOTBALL | LA LIGA | ROUND 31 SATURDAY NIGHT GAMES RESULTS

We had SPANISH FOOTBALL action tonight with three games scheduled as part of the Spanish League Round 31 fixture. Here is a quick resume of events, with results & the scorers

Real Madrid bench against At.Bilbao

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO lost to a "B-side" REAL MADRID 0 - 3 with Kaka, Pepe & Di Maria starring with their impressive play. Coach Mourinho was thinking more in the mid week Champions League Tottenham 2º leg Q/Final clash & in next weeks FC Barcelona Liga match, & thus left on the bench, Carvalho, Xabi, Adebayor, Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo & Ozil. However it made no difference as the already mentioned players above & who did start played a very competent game.

KAKA put in his best game this season & showed signs of regaining confidence & form by creating play & scoring two goals, both penalties in the 13th min & 53rd min, provoked by a brilliant Di Maria.

CRISTIANO RONALDO came on in the 60th min & scored his teams 3rd in the 69th min.

Kaka scored twice

The other note was PEPE who played in the midfield in the position of Xabi however with a more defensive role. This was decisive as not only did Pepe help in the teams midfield creation but his "destructive" & defensive play kept in check the Bilbao forwards. Fantastic & notable effort!

Messi scored two goals

FC BARCELONA with meet Real Madrid next week in their Round 32 scheduled Liga match maintaining the 8 point ladder advantage in the Spanish League after defeating ALMERIA 3 - 1 tonight.

Almeria got ahead in the 49th min via CORONA & was looking good for a possible Spanish Football surprise. Then a very controversial penalty was called - video shows no contact between Almeria goalie Alves & David Villa - that allowed LIONEL MESSI to equalize in the 52th min. Barça then managed to get control of the match & young midfielder TIAGO scored in the 63rd min to later see LIONEL MESSI score his second & Barça´s 3rd in the 91st min to wrap things up.

Negredo scores a penalty for Sevilla Fc

Fantastic game of Football between REAL MALLORCA & SEVILLA FC that ended in a 2 - 2 draw. It was an end to end game with great goals & many more chances falling to both sides that were not capitalised.

AKI put Mallorca ahead in the 16th min, that was later answered by NEGREDO for Sevilla in the 31st min when he got the equalizer with a penalty. However,  Mallorca got back ahead in the score line with a long range grass cutter from DE GUZMAN in the 42st min to go into the half time break with regained control.

The 2º half saw Sevilla come out firing but missed many goal opportunities, & they finally managed to equalize via RAKITIC in the 68th. From here Mallorca attempted to get back to attempt the win & nearly did so had they too not missed their many goal chances towards to end.
