SPANISH FOOTBALL RESULTS SUNDAY ROUND 27 GAMES - LA LIGA

Six SPANISH FOOTBALL matches tonight as part of Round 27 of the LA LIGA. Big & intense games between relegation zone teams which are all taking each match from now on as a final along with the big teams fighting for Euro places. Here are the briefs on events, the results & the scorers.

Sporting de Gijon scores against Getafe

Vital win by REAL SPORTING DE GIJON 2 - 0 against GETAFE who are going through a bad & worrying period. The goals for Gijon came via DE LAS CUEVAS in the 32nd min & A.CASTRO in the 40th min. Three vital points for Sporting aiming to get out of danger from the relegation "black hole".

The third last & second last teams of the Spanish League played their particular final with ALMERIA winning HERCULES 1 - 2 away with a comeback effort. Tough match as expected with Hercules getting ahead via ABRAHAM PAZ in the 50th min. However Almeria turned things around with goals from FEGHOULI in the 69th min & M BAMI in the 72nd min.

Caicedo again scores for Levante

LEVANTE was in deep troubles weeks back but have pulled together a string of victories that has lifted them to 12 th place on the Liga table. Today they defeated top side RCD ESPANYOL 1 - 0 with another goal from CAICEDO in the 26th min. Felipe Caicedo is turning out to be currently the Clubs saviour as he is almost single single-handedly contributing to the Levante wins & accumulation of vital points. 

Sergio scores the winner for Osasuna

Both sides are in deep trouble, especially MALAGA who is last on the Spansih League table. Malaga Coach considered todays game against OSASUNA a must win clash & said so in the post match press conference against Real Madrid that he saved key players specifically for today. His plan back fired badly , although Malaga deserved the win, as Osasuna defeated Malaga in the very last minute when SERGIO scored in the 92nd min from a "silly" Malaga defensive mistake. Final result 0 - 1 


Malaga are now further in their troubles as the last team!

Javi Martinez for Athletic de Bilbao

It is never an easy task for the visiting team when they play Bilbao. A traditionally tough & physical clash that did not disappoint with ATHLETIC DE BILBAO & SEVILLA FC fighting it out for the three points. There was plenty of yellow cards & physical clashes with Sevilla forward Negredo being taken off in the first half after clashing heads for an aerial ball & Bilbao forward Toquero being also injured.

It was a battle ground in the midfield with very little chances happening as both sides cancelled each other out. However everything occured mid second half when Bilbao got ahead via an own goal from Sevilla player FAZIO in the 66th min & then the sealer via a penalty in the 88th min via IRAOLA.

Final result 2 - 0 for Bilbao in the battle of "San Mames"

Adebayor scores for Real Madrid

RACING DE SANTANDER lost 1 - 3 to REAL MADRID which was missing Ronaldo, Lass, Khedira...but had Granero, a brilliant Xabi Alonso & a magical Ozil to steer the ship. Real Madrid played their best Football in the first half with Xabi & Ozil tantalizing along with a constructive Granero & dangerous Di Maria.

It was theses mentioned players that set up ABEDAYOR to tap into the net his goal in the 23rd min which was followed with a second three minutes laters by a magical Ozil pass that KARIM BENZEMA fired home. In fact the Frenchman had warned earlier of his intentions when he shook the goal posts with a rifle shoot. 

Ozil tantalized for Real Madrid 

The second half saw a much more relaxed Real Madrid & Racing lifted & won a penalty in the 51st min when Xabi fouled Giovani on a dangerous run. Santander player Pinillos took the penalty but slipped & missed to which Iker Casillas stopped. However Santander player KENNEDY made up for his team-mates fail earlier & in the 70th min he scored Racing only goal that sent some alarm bells ringing on the Madrid bench.

This mini-shock awoke Real Madrid from their sleep &they  began playing well & they again settled things when Di Maria found KARIM BENZEMA in the 74th min to score once again - his second for the night. Real later won a penalty in the 84th min when Di Maria was fouled but Adebayor missed hitting the Racing goalie! Ozil then missed a magical opportunity & things finally ended with a Real Madrid victory.

The gap with FC Barcelona on the Spanish Liga classification table returns to 7 points.

Tomorrow last match of Round 27 with the Monday night clash between Deportivo - Real Sociedad.
