REAL SPORTING DE GIJON managed an important 2 - 0 win over HERCULES to get out of the relegation zone of the table & give some air to their questioned Coach Preciado. BARRAL opened with a 1st min goal with a text book header & youngster NACHO CASES scored a "cracker" from outside the box in the 29th min to set things up till the end.

VILLAREAL confirm themselves as the Spanish League third power with a fabulous 4 - 2 victory over OSASUNA with one of the goals of the season included. M.RUBEN opened with his 21st min goal to put Villareal ahead for the 1ºst half.
The 2ºhalf saw Osasuna equalize early in the 47th min via VADOCZ to then see Villareal CANI score a "chipped" & 40 mt goal that caught Osasuna keeper Ricardo off his line - it was spectacular. Villareal defender CAPDEVILA scored his teams third in the 65th min to see CALLEJO pull in Osasuna´s second, whose effort then was cancelled out with Villareal´s fourth via GONZALO in the 83rd min. Great Football match!
By the way, ex Real Madrid Brazilian player , CICINHO debut for Villareal who is on loan from Italian Club Roma.

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO won 2 - 1 at home RACING DE SANTANDER to remain high on the Liga ladder & begin thinking seriously about Euro positions. The Athletic goals came early via JAVI MARTINEZ in the 6th min & young promise MUNIAIN in the 9th min. Racing then managed to get a consolation prize for their efforts with a BOLADO 74th min goal.

SEVILLA FC suffered the "Iron Law of Football": if you miss your chances you will end up losing. Precisely what occurred as the visitors RCD ESPANYOL won 1 - 2 with their few chances & their goalie Kameni stopped it all as Sevilla had "uncountable" opportunities. The man for Espanyol was CALLEJON ( along with Kameni) who scored two goals tonight in the 40th min & the 77th min. Sevilla managed a consolation late goal from NEGREDO in the 91st min but it was too late.
