Spanish Tennis star RAFAEL NADAL sighed relief after waiting nearly a whole year to win in "crushing fashion" an important tournament 6-0 6-1 over fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco to take the 2010 MONTE CARLO MASTERS 1000 on clay.
The current World Nº 3 ranked player, who has been ravaged by injury, manages to get overcome a complicated year to get back into top form & mantain himself with the reputation as the "Best Clay Court Player in the World". This victory gives him his 6th straight Monte Carlo title, plus Nadal equals Roger Federer with 16 Masters 1000 titles, one behind all-time leader Andre Agassi.The Spanish Champion now goes to Barcelona to play the prestigious "Conde de Godó" tournament on clay which begins tomorrow, as he begins his long preparation for the Nº1 Clay court competition; the French Open.
