The Spanish Football Soccer League - La Liga - continued today with Round 30 with 7 games that give the following results & scorers.

VALLADOLID continue with problems & are seriously looking at the 2º Division abyss as VILLAREAL won them at home 0-2. ANGEL scored early in the 9th min to set the path for his team, which NILMAR sealed with a second goal in the 59th min.

REAL SPORTING DE GIJON had their celebration soured when last placed XEREZ came back to finally equalize the game 2-2. RIVERA got Sporting going in the 13th min & the home team looked good, but they missed chances & you always pay that in the end. BERMEJO equalized for Xerez in the 52nd min, to see Gijon react in the 56th min via DE LAS CUEVAS to put Sporting ahead again. However, the home team allowed the visitors to "take control" & they equalized again in the 79th min via ALUSTIZA to grab a point in their struggle to attempt to stay in 1º Division.

Conflictive match in the competitive sense as GETAFE drew against a "stubborn" RCD ESPANYOL 1-1 with the latter fighting for its 1º Division "life". Good game that deserved more goals.

Something as the above basically also happened in the ALMERIA vs. MALLORCA clash were both finished with a 1-1 draw result. Almeria started well early via UCHE who scored in the 4th min, but Mallorca held out, withstood the Almeria attacks & found the right moment in the 87th min to equalize when OSVALDO scored.

VALENCIA CF are really dangerous when DAVID VILLA is in a stalking mood, you just can´t leave the man alone a single minute. The home team won 3-0 OSASUNA thanks to Villa who scored twiced in the last moments of the match when everyone thought that the match was basically settled with goals in the 89th min & the 93rd min via a penalty. Earlier in the 47th min JOAQUIN put Valencia ahead knocking out some wind from the Osasuna "sail" who were being very competitive. As the saying goes, it ain´t over until the fat lady sings, in this case, David Villa sang - twice!

REAL MADRID re-took the Top of the Spanish League calssification table with a comfortable victory away to RACING DE SANTANDER 0-2. The locals started with a promising attitude that fizzed out as the game went on, & even got physical in their frustration. Real Madrid without Xabi & Ramos, serving their suspension, were not over the top either, but their players are of higher quality & solved the "problems" with strategic actions that settled things. CRISTIANO RONALDO scored in the 22nd min from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the box from an individual run. Later HIGUAIN continued with his goal scoring streak when from a Guti pass he solved in the 76th min.

Now everything is in place for next weeks Real Madrid - FC Barcelona clash. The League could be settled here!

Amazing how Football can change things, three months ago ATLETICO DE MADRID were a serious candidate to go down to 2º Division, now with tonights 3-0 victory over DEPORTIVO, they are thinking in the "remote" possibilty of getting into the European positions of the ladder. Atletico won convincing a disappointing Deportivo who are losing steam as the season goes on. Atletico defender JUANITO, back from a long spell on the bench, scored the opener in the 22nd min, but things got much better in the 2ºhalf. DIEGO FORLAN is finding his touch with another goal in the 56th min & THIAGO got is reward for his good play with the teams third goal in the 60th min. Let´s hope Atletico KEEP surprising us, at least for their followers. Tweet
