3 days under snow. The trip home was a lucky affair as the roads are
snowed in & I was fortunate to make it, & safe.
Here is a summary of the Sunday Round 17 games, please excuse the
"briefness" of the resumes as I have just got in.
REAL MADRID put in one of its best games of the season by defeating
MALLORCA 2-0 with HIGUAIN scoring in the 7th min with a "cracker"
& was the "man of the match". The other scorer was GRANERO in the
50th min.
MALAGA drew 1-1 with ATHLETIC DE BILBAO with the latter saving
the night with a late penalty to LLORENTE. Earlier WELIGTON scored
for Malaga in the 48th min.
DEPORTIVO won with the only goal from J.RODRIGUEZ in the 50th
min over OSASUNA. Final score 1-0
ESPANYOL won a poor defensive ZARAGOZA 2-1. The goals for the
home team came via VERDU & MARQUES, while for the visitor
ARIZMENDI scored.
XEREZ go further in the dumps after VALENCIA CF won 1-3. CASTRO
got the home teams only goal, while MATA, SILVA & MARCHENA
scored for Valencia.
SPORTING got a suffred victory over GETAFE 1-0 with the goal from
DIEGO CASTRO
TENERIFE was "steam-rolled" by FC BARCELONA 0-5 that included
a HAT-TRICK from LIONEL MESSI. Barça Captain PUYOL scored
& Tenerife LUNA put in an own goal. Special mention to BOJAN
