Let’s give the brief on two news pieces doing the rounds in the local Sports
daily’s in reference to FC BARCELONA. The first is the interest that
BAYERN MUNICH player FRANCK RIBERY has in leaving his Club for
Barça & the second the supposed interest by MANCHESTER CITY for
Barça midfielder ANDRES INIESTA.
Ex- FC Barcelona Dutch player & now Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van
Bommel, made comments to Barcelona radio RAC1 asserting that FRANCK
RIBERY wishes to play at FC BARCELONA. Another sign from the
Frenchmen who has accumulating evidence of his wished departure as being
true with the only question being which Club will finally be the chosen. Ribery
may desire Barça but there are other Clubs who also are showing real
interested that may halt the “wishes” of the player. Clubs like Manchester
United who look for a substitute for Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid who see
Ribery as the much needed winger & Chelsea FC who have always shown
interest.
The other story is the news from England via “News of The World” that
MANCHESTER CITY is interested in Spanish International & FC
BARCELONA midfielder ANDRES INIESTA. The player has contract until
2014 & a massive 150M€ contract release clause which is being responded
with a 39M€ offer by Manchester City. Everything Manchester City sounds
like the “Boy who cried Wolf” story. If you think rationally the English Club
has little to attract big names: lost 1-3 to Fulham this weekend, mid table
position without chances of qualifying in European places next season, possible
UEFA Cup knockout this round… This story should calm all Barça fans as it
is not going to happen.
