SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA 2008/ 09 - ROUND 30 RESULTS

Hi! Great to be back posting. This weeks Liga summary will be shorter,

SATURDAY RESULTS:

VILLAREAL 0

SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS:

Ex-REAL MADRID player DAVID BECKHAM flew into Madrid to watch
his ex-team mates play a very boring & controversial game to defeat
VALLADOLID 2-0

As mentioned, a boring affair that saw Higuain do his magic with an
individual run to set up RAUL to score the teams first goal in the
43rd min. Then from a controversial foul from Pepe on Valladolid
player Goitom in the penalty area not called, came the 2ºgoal that
ROBBEN finished in the 82nd min.

Real maintains the 6 point gap behind leaders FC Barcelona.

OSASUNA keep up their winning run to stay away from the relegation
zone after defeating 2-1 ATHLETIC DE BILBAO. Goals from Osasuna
thanks to MASOUD (above) & SERGIO, while for Bilbao the goal came
from
AITOR OCIO

MALLORCA defeated ALMERIA 2-0 with a great overhead first goal from
CLEBER SANTANA & later another goal from GONZALO CASTRO.

The two bottom teams NUMANCIA & ESPANYOL finished their game
in a 0-0 draw. Their problems continue.

SEVILLA FC surprising lost 0-1 to GETAFE who are fighting to stay in the
First Division. Goal came late from GALIVAN.

New Coach for REAL BETIS & it gave the result a 2-3 win over RACING
DE SANTANDER. Racing started well via LUCCIN & later ZIGIC,

however Betis cameback via EMANA ( above & twice) & EDU

REAL SPORTING lost 2-3 against VALENCIA CF who jump into
Champions League places. The goals for Valencia came from SILVA,
DAVID VILLA & MATA who did the winner. For Sporting the goals

came from BARRAL (p) & BILIC.

ATLETICO DE MADRID
won 1-2 a hard fought match against
DEPORTIVO to take the 6th (& UEFA) place off MALAGA in their attempts
to get back into Champions with Valencia who is 4th on the ladder just a game
away. Atletico breathe for now & Deportivo miss the Euro places train!

SERGIO AGUERO (above) scored in the 44th min with SIMAO scoring the
teams second in the 70th min. However, Deportivo played well & were unlucky
the whole game & managed a goal by BODIPO in the 87th min.
