FC Barcelona midfielder ANDRES INIESTA. The player has torn muscle
fibres that will keep him out of the Spanish Team for the upcoming double
World Cup 2010 qualifying games against Turkey, the first match of which
will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid this upcoming
Saturday.
This has forced Spanish Coach Vicente del Bosque call up from U/21
duties VALENCIA CF youngster JUAN MATA to substitute Iniesta
in the “A-team”. This is not the only injury concerns for Coach Del Bosque,
midfielders Xavi Hernandez & Silva have ankle problems along with David
Villa (knee) & Xabi Alonso (muscle), which the medical team is supervising
& will decide if extra action is needed.

Spain will miss Iniesta; he is probably the most on form player at the minute.

i gues its gonna be some 'mess at general tactical system in midfield area.. we all knows that that xavi and iniesta combo worked so well since they play together at nt and club team....
if spain will miss iniesta,,
then, what we gonna see alonside xavi?
aswell, do you have any doubbt about system and tactic of game plan witouh iniesta?

Great questions Anonymous ( would have liked your name, more personal).
Like anyways it depends. Depends on how the game is evolving & the situation...are we looking to attack, or defend the scoreline, are our wings left too open, is the opposition marking man on man our key midfield players...etc. Spain has a few different style midfielders up its sleeves to suit each occasion.
I believe all the mentioned names can play with each other well, as the Spanish side has enough games under its belt for each to know each others capabilities & then there is the Coach who will place & finetune according to his strategy & situation.
Regarding Iniesta , yes it is a big loss, he is so skillfull, protects the ball so well, attacks ... & sets up the forwards. But there are others & I am sure they will adapt & do well. Think off the plus, the opposition coach now has to think what his replacement is all about!
What we gonna see. Dont know, have´nt access to Coaches head:) Will Spain play wings with attacking defenders Ramos & Capdevilla, if so Senna & Xabi will hold fort behind. If not & goes with more traditional attack... Senna, Xavi, Mata, Silva or Senna , Cazorla, Xavi, Riera... see what I mean , plenty of options. Thats the reason behind a great winning side.
