It´s the big news doing the rounds here via the various sporting
& non-sporting papers, that ATLETICO DE MADRID Mexican
Coach JAVIER AGUIRRE has his hours counted.
The rumour is that Club President Cerezo & Club owner Miguel
Angel Gil currently in Dubai, are awaiting to shut the deal with the
Club were the new Coach is currently employed & pay his 300.000€
to liberate him from his contract. Once they have their man, they will
formally announce the sacking of Aguirre.
Atletico de Madrid has had a nightmare start to 2009, not winning
any games & fulling out of European table positions. The sad image
shown yesterday with a defeat at home 1-2 to Valladolid has angered
fans who are calling for Aguirre´s head.
The chosen new Coach is an Atletico man, currently he is coaching the
lower division side Castellon, & was the leyendary Atletico goalkeeper
from 1986 to 1995. ABEL RESINES (above) has 1ยบ Disvision experience
as he coached Levante & it is planned that he become the "caretaking"
coach of Atletico until the end of the season.
