RACING DE SANTANDER hosted League leader FC BARCELONA &
were on their way in halting their magic run until LIONEL MESSI, on
the bench, came on in the 2ºhalf.

Final Score: Racing 1 - Fc Barcelona 2, Barça maintain a 12 point
ahead of 2ºplaced Real Madrid.

DEPORTIVO DE CORUÑA knocked out VILLAREAL with a
convincing 3-0 victory & placed themselves in European classification
positions at the expense of Atletico de Madrid.

The man of the game was RIKI ( above) who gave the passes for LAFITA
to score his two goals ( 1st m & 62th m); while he himself scored in the 67th
min.

Villareal are losing wind. Villareal Captain Senna missed a penalty!

This man, Atletico de Madrid Coach Aguirre, is in danger of losing

his job. A terrible performance today from ATLETICO DE MADRID

who were outplayed by VALLADOLID & lost 1-2. This loss takes

Atletico to 7th place & out of European table positions, which has

caused an angry backlash from fans who called for the "head" of
Aguirre. The situation is bad & Aguirre may see how he maybe replaced
as the situation is becoming intolerable.

Valladolid scored first via PRIETO ( above) in the 50th min, to see

Atletico equalize via an own goal from Valladolid defender GARCIA
CALVO, but that was all. Valladolid could have scored a bag full, &

was rewarded with a penalty in the 78th min which VICTOR
converted for the winner

From bad to worst at Atletico, & on top off it all Simao got injuried!

ESPANYOL are fighting to stay out of the relegation zone, &
they looked like grabbing the victory until the above action - with
a Red Card to goalie Kameni - gave RECREATIVO a penalty which
was converted.

Final Result a draw: Espanyol 1 ( PAREJA 63rd m) - Recreativo 1

Another team fighting not to go down to 2ºDivision, OSASUNA managed
a toughly earned 1-0 victory over MALLORCA. Uruguayian PANDIANI

scored for Osasuna in the 3ºrd min & it was enough. Very valuable 3 points
& win for Osasuna!

REAL BETIS are having a bad & haunting run, their match against
GETAFE finished in a 2-2 draw after being two goals ahead. Betis

began well early with goals from JUANMA ( 7th m) & MARK
GONZALEZ ( 9th m), but slowly lost control to see how Getafe
over took them & drew thanks to the goals from UCHE who scored
both.

VALENCIA CF won 3-2, but just, as ALMERIA did a very fine match.

JOAQUIN scored early for Valencia in the 7th min, to see NEGREDO
draw in the 21st for Almeria. It was an open & competitive clash that
saw how Valencia was awarded a penalty in the 29th min in which
DAVID VILLA converted to put his team ahead.

The 2ºhalf was a fought out affair that saw DAVID VILLA score his

second for the game in the 61st min, to then see how Almeria via
NEGREDO again pulled one back.

Valencia managed to hold firm & halt the Almeria charge to take the
match.














REAL SPORTING DE GIJON lifted by their home crowd managed a
tooth & nail victory over SEVILLA FC with a 1-0 finish scoreline.

D.CASTRO (above) scored in the 17th min to put Gijon ahead & before
that Bilic hit the post in Gijon´s great start. However, it turned into a
Sevilla siege & Sporting stood its ground with all its brave men. The

end was heated, very heated as Gijon lost a man to a Red Card & its
Coach for arguing.
