The only big scoring game was the RECREATIVO - DEPORTIVO
clash that saw the latter win 3-2. Perhaps the desperate need off the
3º points by both teams made them try harder. The points went
Recreativo´s way thanks to the goals from BETO, PONGOLLE &
CACERES. For Deportivo the two goals came from VERDU &
RIKI. By the way Recreativo deserve merit as they played with 10 men
after Beto who scored was given his 2º yellow card for celebrating his
goals with his shirt!
This is one of the many drawn games of the day, however
VALLADOLID let the game go & allowed MALLORCA to equalize via
a penalty given to Mallorca. The home team opened the goals via it´s
inform scorer LLORENTE who scored in the 37th min. However ,
Mallorca equalized in the 78th min with a penalty scored by IBAGAZA.
Final score 1-1.
VILLAREAL let slip a chance & its security on the Champions League
classification positions with a 0 - 0 draw against RACING DE
SANTANDER. Villareal missed a penalty which Rossi could not
convert.
ALMERIA is doing an excellent season & are hoovering the Euro
positions of the table. Their 1-0 victory over MURCIA , thanks
to the goal by NEGREDO ( above), allows them to dream.
LEVANTE put in a great game & defeated OSASUNA 2-1.
The scorers for Levante were ALVARO & GEIJO, & for
Osasuna MONREAL managed to grab some pride for his team.
Boring & lacking in fire power on both sides gave the result,
a 0-0 draw for VALENCIA & GETAFE. Valencia lost DAVID
VILLA to a red card & that put his team into the defensive
mode. But, with things how they are, both are happy to go away
with 1ºpoint each.
ATLETICO DE MADRID must be one of the most inconsistent teams
this season. With all the good players in their squad they are not able to
pull in the big games with a win. They let another one slip against
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO who defeated them 1-2.
Atletico started promising & early with a quick goal in the 5th min thanks
to ANTONIO LOPEZ, but that was all. At.Bilbao got its game together
& their young star SUSAETA scored a brilliant goals to equalize in the 38th
min, followed by another by LLORENTE with a header from a Yeste free
kick that gave them the lead & finally the win. We can discuss the 2º half,
a Red Card for Raul Lopez to leave Atletico down with 10 men, but that´s
