absolute "beauties" goals. Look forward to the videos tomorrow on SFS.

VILLAREAL

good play & its gritty style. They defeated by a solitary goal ATLETIC
DE BILBAO

1-0

ESPANYOL is up there on the ladder thanks to its Captain & main
force TAMUDO ( pictured) who scored again to give his side the
win against DEPORTIVO. Final Result 1-0

The VALLADOLID vs MURCIA game was a high scoring affair with
the 3 points going Murcia´s way after Valladolid were down to 9 men
thanks to Red Cards to Cifu & goalkeeper Butelle.
Murcia started well scoring first with DE LUCAS in the 27th min, which
was answered by Valladolid thanks to LLORENTE in the 48th min.
With Valladolid down to 9 men, Murcia run over their rivals with goals
from BAIANO, IVAN ALFONSO & ABEL ( a cracker!).

ALMERIA lost to the only goal scored by RACING DE SANTANDER
via GARAY who put it in the back of the net early in the 6th min.
Final Result:
0-1

REAL BETIS breathe relief after winning 3-0 MALLORCA. All
3 Betis goals by XISCO ( 58th); SOBIS ( 77th) & EDU ( 90th) were
excellent goals with a special mention to the long rang shot by
Sobis: worth a watch.

Third straight win for ATLETICO DE MADRID over OSASUNA
& Atletico are finely looking good, specially as a team, with clear
signs of sacrific & the coming of form players of key players.

One of those in form Atletico men is RAUL GARCIA ( pictured above
& ex-Osasuna ) who scored another brilliant long range goal in the
37th min.

But it was another SERGIO AGUERO show, he was in everything
& was part of the many close calls & the goal post festival. Diego
Forlan & Simao "shaved" the goal many times , but it was the young
Argentine ( pictured & in hot form) that grabbed the 2º in a majestic
individual piece of play in the 81 min: Final Result: 2-0

How do you a loss a game were you dominant from start to finish?
Not taking your chances!
(posts included!)
Thats the GETAFE story against REAL MADRID after lossing to
the only goal of the match, thanks to SERGIO RAMOS in the 65th
min. The best player for Real Madrid was goalkeeper CASILLAS who
saved everything, & that tells you the whole story really.
But these are the games you need to win, however you achieve the
objective, & Real did the job to retain the leaders position on the table
for another week. Final Result. 0-1

A very tough affair the RECREATIVO vs VALENCIA CF game,
with plenty of yellow cards to halt the strong & enthusiastic play from
both sides.
Valencia took the lead thanks to the goal from VILLA in the 5th min
(pictured below celebrating) & it served to be the winner giving
the important 3 points & allowing Valencia groove into a winning
streak they hope will continue in the coming matches. Final Result: 0-1

SPANISH FOOTBALL. LA LIGA - ROUND 6 /2007 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

Two matches played tonight in Round 6 of "La Liga" with lots of
goals & a surprise result.

REAL ZARAGOZA played SEVILLA FC & won 2-0
a Sevilla side
that has slummed in a losing spiral. Zaragoza opened the
scoring
thanks to a superb free kick by Argentine D´ALESSANDRO
(pictured below) in the 52nd min, & SERGIO GARCIA scored the 2º

goal for Zaragoza in the 86th min.
Red lights & sirens are sounding at Sevilla that need to find a reason for
the dramatic drop in the teams form. Magnificent result for Zaragoza that
will lift spirits for the upcoming games.

FC BARCELONA visited LEVANTE & were firing on all pistons
as they won 1- 4, with a HAT-TRICK from THIERRY HENRY.

The Frenchmen showed his style & scored in the 16th, 23rd &
48th min, & of course, the man in form MESSI (pictured below)
was back on the scoresheet with Barça´s 4th goal in the 50th min.
The Argentine has now 5 goals notched up this season in only 6
rounds!

VIQUEIRA managed to score for Levante thanks to a penalty that
was given against Puyol, & he put the ball into the net in the 71st min.

Great game also from DECO who is better with every game & has

shut plenty of mouths that doubted him in the pre-season.
Barça are starting to building up their form & are getting to the level
that we expect from them. Excellent win & important 3 points

THE ARGENTINA NATIONAL TEAM LIST WITH A "SPANISH FLAVOUR"

Alfio Basile, the Argentine National Team coach, has given his list
of players that will defend the nation in the two upcoming World
Cup 2010 qualifying matches. Argentina meets Chile on the 13th
of October & then play Venezuela on the 16th of October, &will
again look to Villareal midfielder RIQUELME to lead the way.

It was a "surprise" to see Riquelme on the list after not having played
a single game in the Spanish League. But his talent & majestic play
are too important for caoch Basile not to have the player included.

The other observation is the amount of Spanish based players that
are on the list, thus giving the national side a certain "Spanish
flavour", as the below list of players indicate:

Abbondanzieri ,Oscar Ustari,Daniel Díaz (Getafe), Heinze
(Real Madrid), G.Milito (FC Barcelona), Coloccini (Deportivo),
Jonás Gutiérrez (Mallorca), Gago (Real Madrid) , Maxi Rodríguez
(At.Madrid),Saviola (Real Madrid) Messi (FC Barcelona)
& Agüero (At.Madrid)

Two outstanding names on the list , apart from Riquelme, are the two
inform players at the moment, Messi & Aguero, an awesome combination
upfront with both players on a goal streak at this moment with their
respective clubs in Spain.

Here is the FULL list of players called up. Basile will name another
5 players next week, which are certain to be local league players.

GOALKEEPERS: Roberto Abbondanzieri & Oscar Ustari (Getafe).

SPANISH FOOTBALL. REAL MADRID - BETIS GOAL HIGHLIGHTS - ROUND 5/2007

Here is the VIDEO of the two goals scored yesterday in the Real
Madrid - Real Betis game which finished 2-0 in Real´s favour with
RAUL & BAPTISTA scoring. Check out the second goal by BAPTISTA

with a acrobatic overhead kick!

Special mention to ROBBEN who got onto the field in the 58th min as
a substitute & showed his magic. He connected brilliantly with Raul
(served him the ball for the penalty after zig zagging defenders) &
with Sneijder. He was also disallowed a goal.

If he can avoid injury & build up form, he may well be on his way to
electrify "La Liga" & contribute to make Real Madrid a strong side.
Good exhibition last night!

SPANISH FOOTBALL. REAL MADRID 2 - BETIS 0 ENDS ROUND 5 OF LA LIGA

The REAL MADRID vs REAL BETIS reminded me of the unwritten
Football law: if you dont take your chances you´ll end up in defeat.

Real Madrid has won Betis 2-0 to end the mid-week round 5

fixture & remain league leaders

The 1º half saw a determined Betis dominante a "sleepy" Real
Madrid . So laid back was Real Madrid that Betis enjoyed plenty of goal
scoring chances that were not effective. That lack of "killer instinct"

would return to haunt Betis in the later part of the game.

RAUL was again the driver of his team, leading from example
& inspiring Real Madrid to take control in the 2º half. So much
so, that in the 66m Betis defender Rivas fouled Raul & Real Madrid
was awarded a "penalty", a penalty that RAUL took & scored.
Then to finally nail the coffin for Betis, Brazilian international
BAPTISTA ( came on as a sub.) scored the 2º goal from a Diarra
pass in the 84th min, with a fabulous overhead kick.

Other names to mention was an impressive ROBBEN who came
on in the 2º half & was very active - pass to Raul which started the
penalty & a disallowed goal. He connected well with Sneijder
& may highlight the beginning of a strong relationship on the
field to give Real fans plenty of joys in the future.

Conclusion: Big lesson tonight for Betis ( you must take your chances)
who are still to notch a victory & are going through hard times.
Another 3 points for Real although not at its 100% expected peak.

Match details:
R.Madrid 2
: Casillas; Torres, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Heinze;

Diarra, Guti, Sneijder (Julio Baptista, 78'), Higuaín (Robinho, 58');
Raúl & Saviola (Robben, 58').

Betis 0: Ricardo; Melli, Juanito, Rivas, Fernando Vega; Odonkor

(Xisco, 71'), Somoza, Juande, Mark González (Caffa, 84'); Edu
&Sobis

It was a solitary goal but an important goal. ALMERIA player
MELO ( pictured) scored to give his side the 0-1 win over
MURCIA

The most emotional game of the night was the comeback from 0-2
by MALLORCA to defeat VALLADOLID 4-2.
Valladolid dominated the 1º half with goals from OGBECHE &
VICTOR, but Mallorca made a heroic comback with 2 goals from
ARANGO, & the rest from NUNES & VICTOR which brought the
stadium "down".

ATLETICO DE MADRID
grabbed its 2º win at a very hostile
ground against ATLETIC DE BILBAO 0-2. Argentine forward
SERGIO AGUERO scored first with a crafty goal in the 11th min.
From then on it was a tough affair, but Atletico managed a 2º goal
thanks to DIEGO FORLAN in the 77th min. Great win for Atletico
that should lift further their confidence & ease some pressure.

FC BARCELONA
has had a great win over ZARAGOZA 4-1, with
the player of the moment, MESSI scoring twice in the 4th &
10th min. Barça dominated the game with its strong midfield thanks to
DECO playing well along with a solid defence. The 3º goal came thanks
to another inform player INIESTA in the 21st min & the 4th goal
by a header from MARQUEZ in the 46th min.
Zaragoza got on the scoresheet in the 9th min via ZAPATER to
give the impression that it would be an even game, but it was´ nt
the case.

FOOTBALL HUMOUR: RONALDINHO "FLIRTTING" WITH CHELSEA FC

a 5 year contract x 16 = 80M€ offer, here is a piece of light hearted
humour from "Santi Orúe" from Spanish daily "Publico"

Ronaldinho es recieving some English & Sterling lessons..." Now
repeat after me..............."

SPANISH FOOTBALL. LA LIGA BURSTING WITH YOUNG TALENT

Apart from the already "World famous" young players currently
playing in the 1º Division of the Spanish League ( "La Liga") like
Messi, Aguero, Giovanni, Navas, Raul Garcia, Chapel, Drenthe...

etc & etc, Spanish daily "Marca" give a few more names to keep
an eye out for in today´s edition. Seven players that have already
caught the attention of many with only 4 rounds played of "La
Liga"

ROSSI
- Villareal. This young Italian is proving to be a natural
goal scorer & deciding matches.

MARKEL SUSAETA
- At.Bilbao. Another goal area "killer".

PABLO HERNANDEZ
- Getafe. Delightful surprise in Laudrup´s
team

NEGREDO
- Almeria. Scoring goals & decisive.

SISI
- Valladolid. Revelation in the 1º Division.

MATUZALEM - Real Zaragoza. Beginning to build a reputation
in midfield with goal strenght.

GUARDADO - Deportivo A Coruña. The Mexican goalscorer is
creating a name for himself.

Just a few names to look out for & to follow this season, as they are
guarenteed to give us all plenty of joy throughtout the season.

FC BARCELONA NEWS: RONALDINHO - SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?

Its become a mayor issue & a subject that could well rip apart "Camp
Barça"; an earthquake waiting to happen.
According to English press , "The Sun" ...etc, which has been picked
up by all the local media, RONALDINHO has given orders to his
brother/representative to begin negotiatons with English Premiere
League club CHELSEA FC. The 27 year old Brazilian star, is angry
about being accused of being in low form due to late night activities
& thus being punished with warming the bench. Add to this a heated
arguement with his coach Rijkaard, who seems to have lost confidence
in the player & you have a seriously "wounded" pride & lack off "loving
care".

However, this tangled "long daggers in the night" episode has more
nitty gritty details that need a mention. The after hours activities
has been filtered to the press by his club, the local press is placing &
building MESSI as the "best player in the world" & hinting that Barça
does´nt need Ronaldinho, & the powerful opinions of Johan Cruyff in
his weekly paper articule , claims for "team first ahead of any individual".
Smells like an orchestrated strategy to turn the fan base against the
Brazilian to justify a sell. Some fans are already screaming to get rid of
the "lazy drunk" ( harsh words from a nearly always ignorant & non-
educated faction of the fan base - but very noisy!)

According to the cited English papers, Chelsea meet Ronaldinho´s
representative last month & offered a staggering 70M€ offer. What´s
not mentioned - & this is a SFS idea - is that not too long ago AC
MILAN was prepared to fork out 100M€ & could well be thinking of
getting in the picture.

Meanwhile, lastest news is that Ronaldinho has not turned up to training
today & will not figure in the mid week clash against Real Zaragoza.
More wood to add to the already fire!

Interesting times ahead indeed at FC Barcelona, its too early too say if
it just a "bitch fight" that will end in a kiss & make up situation, or its the
beginning of the end for Ronaldinho at Barça. The only sure thing SFS can
say is that in the worst case Barça can look forward to gaining between 50
- 100M€.
Stay tuned folks, as it remembers SFS a bit like how Ronaldo left Real
Madrid...same rumours & club tactics.

REAL MADRID MAKING MOVES ON DROGBA?

When the smell of rotting material hoovers in the air, the vultures
come in to fly around & see what can be picked up. Excuse the
"Alfred Hitchcock" images, it is normal behaviour in this fasinating
world of Football.
CHELSEA FC is in turmoil after its coach Mourinho has left, its
2-0 loss to Manchester Utd & the comment that owner Abramovich
will manage the side. This will & has made certain "star" players
begin to think about their future elsewhere.

According to English paper "The Times" - & picked up in Spanish
daily "AS"- REAL MADRID has began negotiations with CHELSEA
forward DIDIER DROGBA in an attempt to sign the player in the
upcoming winter market ( Jan 2008). Apparently, Real Madrid have
been following for sometime the Ivory Coast player & see an
opportunity
in the Chelsea "crisis".
Another reported club "hoovering" around & looking at Drogba is
AC MILAN. Stay tuned for more news in the future!

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS OF ATLETICO DE MADRID - RACING & VALLADOLID - REAL MADRID: ROUND 4 _ 2007

below post.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 4_2007 RESULTS

Great weekend of Spanish Football with Round 4 of "La Liga" giving
us plenty of action & lots of goals. Teams questioned recently by their
fans (At. Madrid, Barça & Valencia) answered by winning & winning
well, thus halting the criticisms for the moment & "saving" the heads
of their respective coaches.

Two games played yesterday ( Saturday):

The 1º was the RECREATIVO - ESPANYOL clash were the former
managed a brilliant 2-1 victory thanks to 2 splendid goals from JAVI
GUERRERO
for Recreativo. The Espanyol goal came from RIERA
who scored early in the 4th min, but that did not spur on his team to
continue with the advantage.

The other Saturday clash was the much expected FC BARCELONA
- SEVILLA FC encounter were Barça pulled away with the victory
thanks to an inspired MESSI who scored both goals (one via penalty).
The game was a tactical affair & it was the Argentine that broke the
stailmate with his excellent play. Sevilla Fc managed a consolation
goal towards the end , that put some nerves into Barça , thanks to
KANOUTE. Here is the VIDEO of highlights of the match with its
goals:

Today, the rest of the games were played starting with the
VILLAREAL - MURCIA match, were Villareal took the points
thanks to the brilliant play by Italian youngster ROSSI (pictured)
who scored twice in the 84th & 88th min:
Final score 2-0

A questioned VALENCIA CF along with its coach Sanchez Flores
visited REAL BETIS & managed to grab the 3 points & put some
needed tranquility into the team & the rest of the week. Valencia
won 1- 2 thanks to goals by MIGUEL ( pictured) in the 68th min &
ex-Betis player ( now Valencia) JOAQUIN in the 82th min. Betis
managed to get one back via SOBIS in the 86th min, which did not
managed to halt the "fury" of its home crowd at the end of the game.

ATLETIC DE BILBAO defeated LEVANTE 1- 2 thanks to a great
game & two goals by ADURIZ ( pictured). Levante scored late in
the game via RIGANO

REAL ZARAGOZA needed a victory to regain confidence & they
did it in style with a 2-1 victory over OSASUNA. Zaragoza opened
the scoring via MATUZALEM ( pictured) in the 16th min. Then
Osasuna regained composure & equalized via JUAN FRAN in the
23th min, however Zaragoza got the 3 points with a goal from
DIEGO MILITO in the 70th min.

ALMERIA played a draw result 1-1 against MALLORCA. MANE
scored first for Almeria in the 34th min & GUIZA for Mallorca
equalized in the 77th min

ATLETICO DE MADRID
has been "hammered" by its fans & its
coach Aguirre was rumoured to be hanging on a fine wire, depending
on the outcome of this match. Atletico managed to shut the mouth
of many by defeating RACING DE SANTANDER 4-0 at home.

The scoring started in the 11th min via a long range shot by RAUL
GARCIA ( pictured above).

But it was not until the 2º half that Atletico took control & finally
showed its full potential & class. SERGIO AGUERO scored the
2º goal with a header in the 69th min (pictured above), followed
by the 3º goal via DIEGO FORLAN & the final & 4º goal thanks
to SIMAO in the 86th min. Great game by Atletico that should
give its coach Aguirre some needed oxygen & its team confidence.

GETAFE played DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA at home & the result
finished in a 0-0 draw.

VALLADOLID played REAL MADRID in a game that finished in
a 1-1 draw. Vallodolid are proving to be a good solid side & will give
lots of trouble to the leading clubs this season. Real Madrid was without
its in form player Sheijder, & had lots of troble trying to contain the
Valladolid wingers, as Salgado & Marcelo were out played continually
by Sesma & Sisi.
Valladolid scored first via PEDRO LOPEZ in the 70th min & looked set
to take the game, when coach Schuster brought on SAVIOLA in the 83rd
min & the Argentine managed to equalize 3 mins later. Good game for
Valladolid, & Real should welcome the 1 point, even though they played
below the level expected from them.

SFS BACK LATE SUNDAY NIGHT & THE RAUL DEBATE

SFS is going this weekend with the family to the countryside free
of Wifi, Adsl & digital connection. SFS will be back late Sunday night
to give a full round up of Round 4 of "La Liga".

Until then, SFS wishes to know readers thoughts on the ongoing &
back again debate: Should Real Madrid Captain RAUL be called

up again to the Spanish National Team?

This is todays front page of "Marca":"...even Maradona calls for Raul"

Does Raul have enough merit for a call up? Is it a media strategy to
stir up things? Whats your thoughts?
