ATLETICO DE MADRID THINKS IN YOANN GOURCUFF

YOANN GOURCUFF was once hailed as the "New Zidane". As with many young talents the tag is a heavy burden & has hampered their projection instead of making things easy. The 26 year old midfielder player of LYON arrived at his current Club with big expectations which have not been fulfilled.

Spanish Football Club ATLETICO DE MADRID are looking for a missing piece in the midfield to give the team an extra lift. Since the departure of Brazilian Diego, Atletico has been lacking the "special creative midfielder" that can give the team more ideas & feed with opportunities the forward Falcao.

Atletico de Madrid has seen in Gourcuff the possibility to add some artistry & has solicited French Club Lyon for the free loan of the player with an end of year buy option. However Lyon prefers to loan out the player for 3M€ & thus are the negotiations at this moment between Clubs.

A change of airs may be good for Gourcuff & get him away from the local pressures of fulfilling the expectations of other people. The player is "relatively" unknown in Spain & Atletico could be a platform to regain some lost magic.

REAL MADRID | WHAT ABOUT YOANN GOURCUFF ?

As habitual this time of the year Football player names are flying around & said to be in the orbit of REAL MADRID: Maicon, Kolarov, Steven Gerrard, Jesús Navas, Di Maria, David Silva, Pedro Leon, Di Rossi...bla bla bla.

But how about this for a name; YOANN GOURCUFF?

This is just a personal hunch. The name is not being splashed on the front-pages of the Spanish Sports dailys at all - not as yet. The player is a soon to be 24 year old French midfield player with FC GIRONDINS, with a AC Milan past that was´nt successful due to his young age, but has exploded last season in the French League. Super talented & compared with Zidane, the young player is "ripe" to make the jump to a League like the Spanish & finally jump in a big way onto the World Football stage.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez mentioned him yesterday in a online chat interview with fans when asked about Gourcuff. The Real Madrid President acknowledged that the Club has been foillowing the player for sometime & that he thinks he is a real talent. I have no doubt that Real Madrid Presidential advisor Zinedine Zidane is aware of this player & has already advised the Club that Gourcuff is "special".

While Steven Gerrard , Di Rossi, Frank Lampard ...take the limelight for the much wanted midfielder by new Real Madrid Coach José Mourinho, we may be surprised to see how Real Madrid attempts to lure this French Football pearl. As I have said, its only a hunch!

YOANN GOURCUFF SOUNDS FOR REAL MADRID

How many players can Real Madrid buy? Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Gerrard,
Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, David Villa, Franck Ribery, Benzema bla , bla, bla…
there isn’t enough money to get them all over, plus who do you sell to make
room, & raise the funds?

News from France & its paper L´Equipe publish that young 22 year old
French midfielder YOANN GOURCUFF is on a list of possible players that
REAL MADRID is interested in for the future. The youngster is currently on
loan to GIRONDINS DE BORDEAUX from AC Milan & has played this
season 28 games of which he has scored 6 goals. The media have “branded”
the player the “New Zidane" (easy to say of course) & have several Clubs
interested in the evolution of the midfielder, included Bayern Munich who is
a direct competitor along with Real Madrid. French side Bordeaux has the
option to buy the youngster from Milan & may do so to take up the opportunity
& sell to the already mentioned Clubs for a nice profit.












It is all at this point speculation & rumour, & these types of stories will be
on the increase as players, representatives, Clubs & other stakeholders throw
news flashes to test reactions in the European market, grab media attention
for their players & study the markets before the upcoming summer transfer
