LA LIGA | ROUND 30 TUESDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football action mid-week with Round 30 kicking off tonight with three Liga games, with the rest spread over the next couple of days. Here are tonights final results along with all the goalscorers.

Atletico de Madrid hosted Real Sociedad with the home side needing a win to keep the third place of the Liga ladder under control. They did just that winning 2 - 0 in relative comfortable fashion while neutralizing the occasional opportunities the visitors managed to create during the 90 minutes.

The damage to Real Sociedad was done early in the first half with the Atletico set pieces again in action. Arda Turan gave an early warning hitting the post in the 2nd min, with the opener coming in the 3rd min when Koke placed a free kick into the goal square that Real Sociedad defender Mikel Gonzalez headed for an own goal. Soon after Atletico scored the second when Griezmann scooped up a loose ball in the square in the 9th min.

From here onwards Atletico de Madrid exchanged opportunities with Real Sociedad. In the visitors case Atletico de Madrid goalie Oblak was always there to make the important saves, & they were a few.

Eibar hosted Malaga FC & managed a vital victory & the three points in their battle for Liga permanency. Eibar won 1 - 0 under controversial circumstances as the winning 52nd min goal by Arruabarrena came shortly after the referee considered there was no penalty in favour of Malaga FC. Game got crazy towards the end with numerous occasions but Eibar held firm. Eibar wins again 11 Rounds (games) later!

Levante lost 1 - 2 to Sevilla FC with the visitors putting in an excellent 1ºst half which gave them two goals: Gameiro in the 11th min & Reyes in the 39th min. However, Levante turned things around in the 73rd min with an Uche goal which made Sevilla FC wake-up & react. Sevilla regained control of the match & could have scored more.

SPANISH FOOTBALL LIGA SUNDAY ROUND 3 FINAL RESULTS

Spanish Liga Football continued today with four Round 3 games scheduled. Following are all the final results along with the goalscorers.

Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano hosted Elche & went down 2 - 3 in an entertaining match with the visitors deserving their well earned win. Their three goals came from Albacer in the 36th min, Jonathas in the 54th min & Mosquera in the 68th min. For Rayo Vallecano their two goals came from Kakuta in the 44th min & Bueno who converted a 90th min penalty.

Valencia CF is on a winning roll with a convincing 3 - 1 victory over RCD Espanyol. Valencia gains another three points & places the Club in the second place of the Spanish Liga classification table. Valencia put things into a groove early when Piatti scored in the 7th min. His team-mates Parejo scored the second goal in the 63rd min & the third goal came in the 72nd min via Paco Alcacer. Espanyol managed a consolation goal when Captain Sergio Garcia converted a 90th min penalty.

Important moral boosting victory for Sevilla FC 2 - 0 over Madrid Club Getafe. A fairly comfortable win for the locals with a "correct" performance against a visiting team that still needs plenty of work to be able to compete. Sevilla Colombian forward Bacca put Sevilla ahead through a penalty in the 44th min & Vidal sealed with a second in the 87th min. 


A goalkeepers night & game at the Granada vs Villarreal clash which ended in a 0 - 0 final result. Villarreal goalie Asenjo was outstaanding along with Granada keeper Roberto. Shared points!

LA LIGA - SPANISH FOOTBALL ROUND 15 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

LA LIGA had SPANISH FOOTBALL action with Round 15 games scheduled. Here are all the final results & goalscorers.

RCD ESPANYOL & SEVILLA FC played yesterday night their game that ended in a 2 - 2 draw. Sevilla managed the draw in the very last moment with a NEGREDO goal in the 91st min. Sevilla were not happy at all with the referee after unjustly sending off Sevilla forward Reyes after taking a free-kick without permission. Sevilla was down to 10 men from the 35th min & that was a handicap that put them behind the 8 ball.

Espanyol scored first via VERDU with a penalty in the 12th min, that was equalized by another penalty that RAKITIC converted in the 23rd min. From here Espanyol dominated & SIMAO got them ahead in the 60th min to see the victory slip in the last moment.

MALAGA FC put on a show for their home crowd winning 4 - 0 GRANADA. The goals came from JOAQUIN in the 27th min, SAVIOLA in the 33rd min, CAMACHO in the 75th min & SANTA CRUZ in the 85th min.

The REAL SOCIEDAD - GETAFE match was 85 min of a "boring" afternoon & 5 th mins of exciting Football. The game ended in a 1 - 1 draw but the goals came in the last "crazy 5 minutes" when Getafe got ahead via LAFITA in the 86th min & then Real Sociedad equalized in the last moment via CARLOS MARTINEZ in the +90 th min. 

VALLADOLID made REAL MADRID work hard & had them against the ropes most of the game that finally ended in a 2 - 3 victory for the visitors. Real Madrid suffered again in the fixed plays & their defenders made mistakes that allowed Valladolid forward MANUCHO to score twice ( 8th & 21th min ).

Real Madrid managed to solve their big problems defensively thanks to the individual talents of players that scored in the crucial moments of the game. BENZEMA scored from an excellent Callejon pass in the 13th min, then OZIL scored from a Benzema back heel pass in the 44th min & the winner was a brilliant OZIL free-kick in the 72nd min.

Close call for Madrid, excellent match by Valladolid that came close.

OSASUNA hosted VALENCIA CF with new Coach Valverde & won 0 - 1, the last time Valencia won away was 9 months ago. The winner came from SOLDADO in the 55th min.

REAL MADRID CF | RELIEF AS THE DRY GOAL DROUGHT FINALLY ENDS | REAL MADRID 6 DEPORTIVO 1 VIDEO GOALS

Spanish TV "Cuarto" via its Sports News section televised this afternoon this piece on how REAL MADRID finally broken their "Goal Drought spell" yesterday against Deportivo with a 6 - 1 victory. The news piece is in Spanish BUT it can be intuitively understood, apart from also seeing all the goals from last nights game.

To help out in the translation & catch the many ideas in the video, it basically goes like this:
1. Mourinho weeks back in a post-Champions game when asked about the lack of goals scoring said "They (goals) will come & someday some poor team will pay the consequence"

2. The post Deportivo interviews with the Real players say the same, they are happy & that the Coach was right , the goals would eventually come & tonight they did.

3. The news piece shows how RELIEF grows within the Real Madrid players as the goals flow during the match, especially Cristiano Ronaldo who finally scored & did so twice...

4. The word "Contento" = "Happy"

5. Check out the face of Real Madrid President Florentino Perez after shaking hands with mate & Deportivo President Lendoiro. Being a gentleman & very diplomatic, the Real Madrid President lets slip a "face" to someone that reveals that he was also "finally" happy.
