VALENCIA CF SELECTS REAL ZARAGOZA POSTIGA TO REPLACE SOLDADO

Portuguese International & Real Zaragoza 31 year old striker Helder Postiga is the chosen player by Valencia CF to fill the position left vacant by Roberto Soldado after transferring the goalscorer to Tottenham Hotspurs. 

Valencia CF has paid Real Zaragoza 3M€ & the player has arrived at the city of Valencia this evening to pass tomorrow morning the obligatory medical exam before signing with his new Club. A experimented & experienced goalscorer at Real Zaragoza & in Spanish Football this new opportunity could well be the last for Postiga to make a qualitative jump in the last stretch of his Football career.

A solid forward who scored 15 goals last season with Zaragoza, the Portuguese player will no doubt be giving Valencia an excellent focal point in their attack & plenty of goals.

SPANISH CUP | WEDNESDAY Q/FINAL GAMES RESULTS

SPANISH CUP ( Copa de Rey ) action tonight with two matches of the return 2º leg of the Quarter Finals. Here is a brief summary off events & final results along with the goalscorers.

The first leg ended in a 0 - 0 draw which allowed things to remain open. However tonight SEVILLA FC shut the door on REAL ZARAGOZA 4 - 0 to go through to the semi-final phase. Real Zaragoza lost two men ( Fernandez 26 min & Gonzalez 65 th min ) to red cards that made it easier for Sevilla to take full control.

The goals came in the 36th min via NEGREDO, RAKITIC in the 44 th min , NEGREDO with a penalty in the 66 th min & MANU DEL MORAL in the 90th min. Final agg result 4 - 0 to Sevilla FC

The 1º leg of the quarter-final ended with REAL MADRID winning 2 - 0 VALENCIA CF. Tonight in the return 2º leg Valencia learnt the lesson, especially after the 0 - 5 drubbing last weekend in La Liga, to halt the Real Madrid counter-attacks & finish tonight with a 1 - 1 draw.

However, Real Madrid did finish with 9 men after Coentrao saw a red card in the 60 th for hand-ball & Di Maria for kicking a Valencia defender in the 89th min. Stupid red card from Di Maria who will miss the 1º st leg of the upcoming semi-final.

Valencia dominated tonight most of the game pressuring much more & attacking constantly, but Real Madrid are most dangerous if you make a slip & in one of the few mistakes BENZEMA scored in the 44th min & put things beyond Valencia.

Real Madrid lost Coentrao to a red card & from the free-kick TINO COSTA equalized in the 61 st min. From here Real Madrid down with 10 men defended, & well with Varane & Albiol solid in defence , to kept out Valencia to the end & qualify for the Spanish Cup semi-finals.

Iker Casillas has an injury & was taken off in the first half after team-mate Arbeloa accidental kicked his keeper in the hand. 

Final result on agg 3 - 1 to Real Madrid.

SPANISH CUP RESULTS | THURSDAY MATCHES

SPANISH CUP ( Kings Cup ) continued tonight with two games. Here are the final results & the goalscorers.

LEVANTE hosted REAL ZARAGOZA & both took it down to the last moment, until Zaragoza forward ARANDA scored a "pearler" that gave the winner in the added time. Obviously the locals were put shut while Zaragoza members went into ecstasy. Emotional, final result 0 - 1

LAS PALMAS & REAL BETIS played out a similar match to the above, with the exception that one of the teams had a margin to react. The final score was a 1 - 1 with RUBEN CASTRO scoring in the 66th min for Betis, & CHRISANTUS equalizing for Las Palmas in the 84th min.

ANDER HERRERA SPANISH FOOTBALL YOUNG PROMISE | ATHLETIC DE BILBAO NEW PLAYER

ANDER HERRERA scored the winner for the U-21 Spanish Football Team yesterday against Denmark in their International Friendly. The 21 year old has also been signed by Athletic de Bilbao from Real Zaragoza for next season for 8M€ making the young promise the 2º nd highest paid for a player by Athletic de Bilbao. Due to the Bilbao Club history long policy of only having players with a Basque heritage the Football market obviously narrows & Ander Herrera is currently the “Best Young Promise” in that market & in Spanish Football

Born in Bilbao, the youngster moved to the city of Zaragoza with three years of age. His Football education has been given at the REAL ZARAOGOZA Club rising up through the junior ranks &he  made his debut with the senior team August 2009. From here, his evolution & rise has been rapid consolidating his midfield place with the team & becoming a vital member. Last year English Premier League Clubs (e.g. Arsenal) already were observing the “explosion” of Ander in Spanish Football & made offers in an attempt to lure him over to the Premier League.


Local Football observers are impressed by the player’s mature & cold thinking under pressure, his ability to play in different positions & his likeness to another young Spanish star Andres Iniesta of FC Barcelona. Ander has also consolidated his place as a Spanish International being part of the junior categories &is now  finishing off his “apprenticeship” with the U-21 Squad.


Keep an eye out on young Anders as Spanish Football has assured a World Class talent that will keep on growing, evolving & giving us plenty of Football joys during the remaining part of this season at Real Zaragoza & at Athletic de Bilbao as from the next season. ARSENAL & AC MILAN GO AFTER ANDER HERRERA & PEDRO LEON RESPECTIVELY

Two Spanish Football players are attracting attention outside of Spain & have received offers to continue with their profession at Arsenal & Milan respectively according to Spanish daily “AS”.

The first is 20 year old Spanish International ANDER HERRERA of REAL ZARAGOZA whom Arsenal has offered 10M€ which the Spanish Club has refused. Negotiations are still open as the contract release clause is 24M€, but an offer closer to 15-18M€ may convince the Spaniards. The young player is said to be seen as a possible substitute for Cesc Fabragas who points towards Spanish Football next season if all the rumours are correct.


The other player is PEDRO LEON from Madrid Club GETAFE who has AC MILAN seriously studying the option of paying directly his contract release clause of 10M€. In fact reports go further & have said that the Italian Club has even offered directly the player a 5 year contract. The Spanish player, who prefers to continue in Spain, is tempted & will be making a decision in the coming weeks. Tweet

REAL MADRID: ALVARO NEGREDO TO REAL ZARAGOZA

He is one of the most demanded forwards in Spanish Football with
succulent offers also from English Premier League Club HULL CITY &
Russian team ZENIT ST PETERSBURG, but the 24 year old REAL
MADRID player ALVARO NEGREDO is reported to have chosen to
stay in Spain & play in REAL ZARAGOZA. The player currently hasn’t
a secure place in a Real Madrid team full of stars, & has chosen to
look elsewhere to continue playing & evolving.

Its reported Real Madrid will receive > 10M€ for the transfer with
Real maintaining an option of buying back the player if needed in
the future. The contract will initially be for 5 years until 2014 with
a salary of around 2M€/ year , & if everything goes according to
plan the transfer will be official in the next hours or in a day.

Real Zaragoza also wishes the services of another Real Madrid player
defender MIGUEL TORRES, they are currently negotiating.

LATEST from "Marca": Hull City Coach Phil Brown hasn´t lost hope
on Negredo, even though the player is very close to Real Zaragoza.
This may explain the delay in any official announcement as Hull
maybe making a last ditch effort to convince Negrado with the
player "possibly" flying to England to hear their offer.

LATEST II: it is speculated by "Marca" that SEVILLA FC may have
entered the picture this afternoon.

REAL ZARAGOZA: DIEGO MILITO GOES TO ITALIAN CLUB GENOVA

Relegated 2ºDivision side REAL ZARAGOZA has come to a deal
with Italian Serie A Team GENOVA for the transfer of its Argentine
International forward DIEGO MILITO (pictured below). Milito goes
back to the Club that he played for before coming over to Spanish
Football.















According to "Marca" the deal is for 3 years with a transfer fee of
8 M€. This news is a blow for Valencia CF as they have been
negotiating for weeks in order to lure the forward who now goes

REAL ZARAGOZA TRANSFER AIMAR TO BENFICA

Ex - Valencia Cf & now Portugues Club BENFICA Spanish coach
QUIQUE SANCHEZ FLORES has managed to get the midfielder
desired over to his new team, Argentine PABLO AIMAR.

Sanchez Flores had Aimar under his orders in their Valencia days
& now reunite after REAL ZARAGOZA came to an agreement to
transfer Aimar to Benfica for a total of 7,5M€ & a 4 year contract.
























Real Zaragoza has to let go some of its stars because they cannot
satisfy the high salaries of the players after being relegated to
2º Division. Other stars as Milito, Ayala, Oliveira ...etc are on the

Brazilian forward EWERTHON (below) is back & going to RDC
ESPANYOL until the end of this season on loan from German side
STUTTGART, with REAL ZARAGOZA´s permission. Why? The
player still "belongs" to Zaragoza who loaned him to Stuttgart , &
now returns to Spanish Football with Espanyol.




















The player is called upon to fill the huge gap left by the injuried

News from English paper "Daily Mirror", which has been picked up
locally by "Marca" inform that English Premier League & European
Cup sub-Champions LIVERPOOL FC may make a move for the
currently injuried ( pelvis) & recovering Argentine & REAL ZARAGOZA
midfielder PABLO AIMAR.





















Liverpool coach Benitez sees Aimar as a value asset for his team
as he coached the Argentine back in Valencia, & knows well what he can
add to the English side.
Its speculated that Liverpool will put 13M€ on the table to convience
