ATLETICO DE MADRID | PINOCCHIO PART II | A SUSPICION

The 9th of February  I posted an article here on ATLETICO DE MADRID & the rumours about the possible selling of SERGIO AGUERO &/or DIEGO FORLAN at the end of the season. I titled the post "ATLETICO DE MADRID | SERGIO AGUERO | PINOCCHIO",  basically saying I did not believe a word from Atletico Directives that they would not sell under any circumstances Aguero & finished with Forlan as already a done deal.

Well nine days later we read that an unhappy fan-base section & now lobby at the Club, the called "Asociasion de Señales de Humo" ( Smoke signs Association),  hired the prestigious Spanish law firm "Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo" to do a financial revision of the Clubs balance sheet. The final report says there is a massive 782M€ debt  at the Club. This raises a few questions in my mind?

• Why was Director General Gil Marin ( the real owner) voted & awarded by his World Football peers "the Best Football Business Manager of the Year 2010" ? I am dumb-founded!
• Where is the f#@king money? I can only guess,  with so many signings that went no where at the Club...

& lastly, how is this for an interesting angle. Is this the beginning of a "propaganda" campaign to "soften" up the "hardcore" fans for a SERGIO AGUERO & DIEGO FORLAN end of season sale?

What better excuse & strategy than to argue that the entity needs the money from the transfers to survive!

MANCHESTER CITY GOING FOR DAVID VILLA

After failing to lure Kaka over to England, MANCHESTER CITY has
now put its sights on “virtually bankrupt” VALENCIA CF & concretely
on its Spanish International star striker DAVID VILLA.

Fernando Gomez, Valencia’s Football Director, has confirmed what the
English paper “The Times” has been publishing, that talks with Manchester
City over his goal scorer are true. Apparently Valencia President Soriano
put an undisclosed price on the table to which Manchester City is not in
accord, they are still negotiating this element.

However, SFS will go out on a limb.David Villa will follow Kaka´s example
& refuse to accept the transfer. He wishes to stay in Spain & with FC
Barcelona & Real Madrid as viable alternatives, Manchester with all the
money in the World – with my honest respects to Manchester City & its fans
– is not up to the level needed for elite players. The English Club can give you
money but can’t guarantee titles (Yes, City is still in Uefa). This is´nt said by
SFS, its said by players & media commentators as City is a mid table English
Premier League team that flirts with relegation once in a while.

INTER MILAN EXPRESS DESIRE FOR VALENCIA CF JUAN MATA?

With VALENCIA CF in a serious financial crisis - has´nt paid its
players for 5 weeks or more - the Football "vultures" are flying
over the Spanish Club & targetting the crown jewels.

One of those prized assets is youngster JUAN MATA (below) who is said
from Italy to be flirting with INTER MILAN.


















According to Italian media, concretely "Tuttosport", the father of Mata
had dinner with Inter Coach Jose Mourinho & his staff & was later
invited last Sunday to witness the Milan derby with Inter victory
included.

It is said by the Italian source, that Inter expressed its desire to count
with the young Spanish International for next season. The Italian source
adds that Valencia puts a price of 20M€, & that Inter will attempt to
lower the figure by including their player Maxwell in the deal

Stay tuned, we will soon see if there is any truth to the Italian story!

SPANISH FOOTBALL. LOWER TEAMS FEEL THE ECONOMIC PAIN IN THE ASS

It´s not an underwear ad, nor is it to see who has the biggest asset,
its 2ºDivision B team PEGASO who are in a financial crisis. The team
has´nt been paid for the last 3 months, a situation that is affecting
our lower & modest teams as the Economic Crisis hits all sectors.


















This inventive way to call attention to their situation was accompanied
with the slogan..."con el culo en el aire"...a Spanish saying like "left out
in the cold", but this time with reference to ones ass.

By the way they finished their match against Real Madrid C in a 1-1
draw. If I was to say that their goal was an ass, you may see the humour,
although it´s not for these Sportsmen. Tweet

ECONOMIC CRISIS HITS LOWER DIVISION SPANISH CLUBS

The Economic Crisis ( & bad business management) is also hitting Spanish
Football, in this case GRANADA who play in the 2º Division Group 4 &
whose professional players haven’t been paid for the last 4 months. This
weekend in their match against Melilla the players decided to protest &
send a message to their Club President Paco Sanz & everyone … “Paco
Sanz we need to be paid now”!

This situation is also occurring with UD LOGROÑES & other Clubs. In
this occasion GRANADA was given the games gate takings as a sign of
solidarity. Let’s wish them luck, & to all the other Clubs as their players
have to feed their families.
