FC Barcelona lost the "Clasico" against the eternal rival Real Madrid with a final 1 - 2 score. The three points for Madrid closes the gap on the ladder but Barça still has a considerable advantage of 7 points. The victory is a shoot in the arm for Real Madrid, which will fill them with confidence for their real objective, the Champions League, while Coach Zidane come off reinforced as Isco & James stayed on the bench the whole match.

FC Barcelona dominated the first 60 mins then slowly disappeared out of the game. And this with Real Madrid down to 10 men after Sergio Ramos was send off around the 75th min mark. FC Barcelona will "scream" that a "clear" penalty was not given on Messi in the first half, while Real Madrid will claim a "clear" goal by Bale was unfairly disallowed

Names to mention for their efforts are Marcelo, Bale, Benzema & Casemiro, this last putting in equilibrium & was rock solid. For FC Barcelona Suarez tried hard, Busquets was regular as ever & Messi not as active as expected. The last 15 mins was all Real Madrid as Barcelona dropped in intensity, & was on the back foot.

Goals in this order:
  • Pique 57th min , 1 - 0
  • Benzema 62nd min, 2 - 0
  • Cristiano Ronaldo, 84th min.

Celta de Vigo 1 (Nolito) - Deportivo A  Coruña 1 (Borges)
